Introduction

Image

300 years ago.... year 1135...

In time, Celnaria used to be highly populated and ruled by the Ahn'Verian Kingdom. The elves back then were known more as nobles then any race upon the surface excluding Cremiere and Viera who remained unknown at this point in history. As peaceful as Ahn'Veria may have seemed, they were dark times.

After the reign of King Ahn'feul II, the beginning of King Trion dawned. Trion was the beginning of a new age. When he came into rule, he wanted to give further order over the citizens of the nation. He did however give slightly more privileges to the Elvaans yet, He remained restricting the other race's rights. Although there were many elvaans who supported it. There were also those who believed the policies were corrupt. One stuck out the most claiming this called for civil war among the kingdom and his name was Fraudmel. He was a royal army general who was a friend of the people and a loyal warrior to the throne. He was very noble in his deeds and to his country yet he himself was already suspicious by the actions. He and his men with a few other knights were stripped of their titles and casted out as peasants and it was then when he decided to work up a local army against the castle.

While this was happening a Human named Benjamin, a known craftsman among the kingdom had been planning his leave of the kingdom for sometime with many other civilians. A large number was gathering to leave yet there were many with hopes and plans for the change to happen. Benjamin gathered many of the civilians who claimed their citizenship to Ahn'Veria and convinced them that they should make a new home, new laws and make it to where they will be treated equally and will surpass the laws of Trion's ways. Day or two after the hike began and Ben began leading the people northwest thus in the mountains the Republic Of Garrom was made.

2 months laterThe war in Ahn'Veria that had been raging but was quickly ended. In the end, with many supporters and soldiers forcing their way into the throne room. They caused King Trion to surrender. Although this had happened the consequence was to banish him.. Fraudmel due to his leadership and beliefs in the citizens was granted King. This once again brought peace to Ahn'Veria.

250 years ago... year 1185...

In Ahn'Veria, five years ago King Fraudmel died by an illness leaving the throne to his son, Audvier. By this point citizens once again were treated equally. The population increased and by then Garrom and Ahn'Veria were claimed to be allies. Due to lack of exploration Audviere wanted to expand his nation's borders. This idea lasted until he found the found himself in between the two unfamiliar nations. The encounter of the south and the north. To audviere's knowledge there was no reports of neighboring nations. It began in the south, the nation we see as Vidaria. Audviere and five soldiers marched into the warm southern forest in awe at first. Making it half way they suddenly became surrounded by rangers and warriors. Interestingly they were a diversed group of three Mi'qotes who looked far more dangerous and savage then ones in Ahn'Veria. Then there were a couple of Tarutaru's and one who stood unfamiliar to his eyes at all, a Viera. They did not murder him but they did take them as prisoners. With no other choice and because of curiosity, Audviere and his soldiers went with the group of natives through the enchanted forest towards a giant tree. As they drew near they reached the village of Vidaria which was much smaller at the time then it is today. Upon arrival they were taken to meet the ruler at the time known as High Priestess Mivian. Interestingly they were treated with hospitality and kindness. For civil intentions and best interest the Priestess found it would be best to civilize and culture in Vidaria which became the first step of the movement and lead at the time, trouble.

Many who migrated and moved from Ahn'Veria liked the place and became inclined with the mage college of the capital. Some enjoyed the Federation for that very reason yet as peaceful as Vidarians were, Elves and Humans were treated as outsiders and often given the comment β€œYou may reside here now but this doesn't make you a true Vidarian!”. Many of the former Ahn'verians understood yet others hard headed thought otherwise and caused fights. This often caused guards of both sides to appear with biased intentions. Mivian and Audviere noted this and immediately corrected this with Civil Order.

After finally settling down Vidaria, Audviere finally decided to return to his home yet only remained for a couple of months. Among these months very few Vidarians migrated into Ahn'Veria, immediately gaining equal status among the kingdom. The months of rest finally came to an end when it came to Audviere's curiosity of expanding to the North, staring with the confrontation of Garrom.

Garrom at this point had gotten a new mayor known as Frederick Montiere. A middle aged man who thought heavily upon his nation and was set to move forward. Garrom was increasing in power quite incredibly as they were moving forward already shaping to be the city we that is currently know. Rules were made, systems were built and everyone was welcome although as it has always been the humans ruled the area. Although shaped Frederick wanted to see just what was beyond the borders given to them. The man rallied up the town's militia and some of the guards to march towards the east into Criemiere territory of Cleyridia (unknown to them). This was relatively a month before Ahn'veria got to the territory. Although they did not colonize there it looked free and beautiful as if it were preserved yet the mountain stood out. After the militia reported back they decided it was time to make camp at the border of the area. This was ok until suddenly Audviere's army approached them. Due to the fact that Audviere, nor Frederick was there... battle broke out only leaving one crier each to run back to their nation.

When arriving back, both leaders decided to confront each other. They spoke trying to negotiate yet it failed when claimed that it was given to be unfair. They finally decided that at this point it was war and so the battle began and the territory war with it... The territory war continued for quite a while. Yet Audviere didn't enjoy it.

It wasn't long until the unknown nation noticed the actions going on β€œOn their land” and decided to hold off for now. They wanted to stay hidden and didn't want to get involved in violence that was going on. Yet they did find few of their vigilante warriors going out and killing which was seized later by the leader at the time.

In 1197, Edge Tarrence took over when Frederick Montiere died... He had a subtle hatred for Ahn'veria which interestingly if you were to live in Garrom, most of the city's people thought the war was worthless and didn't enjoy it. Same for Ahn'Veria yet Audviere never enjoyed it and wanted it to end. This didn't happen until 1234, When Edge died. Although his reign lasted 37 years... most that happened was the ending of the war through his death and interestingly the Criemiere finally revealed themselves to the world.

200 years ago... year 1235..

Although ties were slightly wavered among the Ahn'veria and Garrom and at this point Vidaria and her people began to close themselves away. A new leader of Garrom known as Mordona Otiva, stepped up. This leader was the one that changed Garrom's direction forever. As well as making Garrom more steamed based nation, she also was the one to develop the first Airship with Cid. Aside from this , in Ahn'veria many things have yet to change except finally making some peace with Garrom. The three nations after a few years began to integrate with each other and by this point had signed a passive treaty that meant for everyone to leave each other alone. Which everyone did agree to until suddenly the skies blackened...

Terror didn't approach immediately seeing that at this point it was a peaceful time for all three nations in progression as well. This was fine until suddenly an unknown terror approached them. Although it was known that gods lived among the races on other continents, they never expected that one would turn on them... Odin, Of the western continent made his appearance with warships... and thus began to continental war crystal war. The crystal was said to be hidden in Cleyridia in which it was yet... it was unspoken. Odin tried to claim the land for himself threatening the people that they will feel his wrath if they stand in his way. The nations didn't stand for it and went against his imperial army... attacks after attacks occurred and thus the war continued... even the Criemiere fought with the continent's nations to defend their home. It wasn't until Odin found out where the crystal resided until things got more serious...

In the year 1265, Audviere died leaving the throne to his son Tirion, who continued the war in his footsteps. For the seven years left that Mordona was alive, Tirion went to each nation and signed a treaty to fight against them as a whole which for awhile the battle looked won until twenty years later...

150 years ago... year 1285

The criemiere were raided by Odin's army... although many managed to escape.. the leaders of the Criemiere fell. Those who escaped was only due to the other nations army colliding against them. After Giving criemiere resistance even though the kingdom fallen. They remained strong, most migrated to Vidaria due to the environment yet there were others who went among the the newer lifestyle of Ahn'veria and Garrom. They preserve the crystal now in Vidaria upon the highest part of Gaia, the tree and their mage college.

Odin continued the raids yet prepared they finally stopped when in the fields of Ahn'Veria. The Great Battle, said to be lead by all of the great leaders at the time... Feina Lance, President of Garrom, Murchien, King of Ahn'Veria, Astra, High Priestess of Vidaria, The scout's guild of Vidaria's leader, Kastheri, and the Tarutaru sorcerer Maloven of Vidaria with the mage college... all there for battle. The emperor's army fell... this suddenly came to be the end of the great war in 1303 when Feina died happily knowing she was a hero.. Although a sad day – it was none-the less the mark of history yet... It was said that Odin never died and stated by the Maloven that it was only a shade that we fought..

Years passed after rebuilding and finally after seeing the Island that resided between them a rich Human family known as the Alexanders created a duchy that connected everyone and was seen to become the landsmeet and the true kings of the continent due to this... In addition all races began colonizing there making it very diverse.

100 years ago... year 1335...

Alexander has been created, no wars have broken out yet by this point the search for Odin has began and recently... they have found a newer continent that was unexplored... Questions were unanswered yet this didn't matter to them immediately due to the fact that they had recently created many new facilities on the continent of Celnaria. This was when they finally brought the holiday of both the treaty and the great war's ending...

Image

This... is where their story begins....

Their purpose alone, moments ago our protagonists have stepped foot in the Grand duchy of Alexander for personal Intentions. Little did they know (unless up-to-date), today is the celebration of the treaty. The beastmaster's Guild has collected beast among the continent as the main event after the parade. Both events being held among the city. Where everything begins when our protagonist have just entered β€œCentral Alexander” (perhaps not all at once...). They have all heard or remembered that the events are to start in this area. To their choice, the protagonist may or may not have enough time before the events start. Let's see how their story will take a leap...

Red Mage [Level 2]

EXP:0/5

Alexander - Central

Just where was she supposed to be headed anyway?

The viera tapped her chin with a single digit, her trusty blade tapping against her legs as she walked through the streets. Not much time had passed since she had left the center square so the monsters couldn't have scattered all that much. But then again, there had been quite a number of competitors who had signed up for the proceedings. Perhaps they had already killed a good portion of the monsters, thus leaving no game for the rest of the contenders. Which suited her just fine~ She wasn't really aiming to win this little contest in the first place. It was more about the experience in the first place.

She was headed towards the western part of the town anyway. Mostly for the sake of exploring but hey, if she saw any monsters along the way, then she'd be sure to at least rack up a few points here and there. It was as this thought passed through her mind that she tensed, noting a few foreign presences around her.

She slowly reached for her blade, gradually sliding it out of its sheath and holding it firmly with her two hands. The first strike should be the kill strike; if she had multiple opponents, best to take them out as quickly as she possibly could. A low growl over her shoulder confirmed her suspicions, several more growls sounding to accompany the first. The mage looked over her shoulder, catching a glimpse of a few mountain wolves prowling around. Just her luck to run into a small pack of them. Still, she wasn't about to shy away from the challenge.

She re-adjusted herself, backing up towards the side street so she could get a better sight of what was before her. Four, five... no, six mountain wolves altogether. They were staking her out as she they, watching, waiting to see who would make the first move. She stayed in her stasis for a few seconds longer before whistling.

"Come come, I don't have all day." She said with a faint giggle. No, she wasn't scared, this was almost... exciting. The mountain wolves responded to her sound and the front-most one lunged at her first. She had been predicting this and swung her blade at its chest. The metal ripped through the fur and the creature whimpered, falling to the ground as it bled out onto the pavement. Its companions circled around the body, growling now louder as they formally acknowledged her as the enemy.

There was no more waiting, all at once the creatures jumped at her, ready to claw at her and avenge their fallen companion. The viera swerved to the right, turning on her heel to avoid the slashes of their claws. One of the wolves managed to cut her leg, the woman wincing as she felt the spice of pain in her calf. She ignored it, arcing her blade towards the nearest creature's throat. She wasn't able to make an incision completely, it had moved away to quickly for her to get a clean cut. Instead, it ended up slicing into the leg of the wolf.

The animal toppled over but she did not take out the time to observe it. Already she was back-pacing, trying to get a look at her surroundings. She needed high ground, to get them all in one place... She looked quickly back and forth, crimson orbs settling on a nearby crate. She went to move towards it, halting as the pain shot up her leg again. She had forgotten about that... She could take care of that but not yet--first, she had to get to the rafters above.

She hoisted herself on to the crate just as another wolf jumped at her, barely missing her back. She lifted herself up on to the roof next, having to jump in order to reach. As she scampered up above, the wolves howled at her, clearly discontent with their escaping prey. She winced again and bit her lip, glancing down at her wound. Ah, that cut deep... She reached her palm down, gently hovering it over the claw marks.

"Cure," She murmured, the green tinges of magic flooding to her fingertips instantly and coating over the injury. It was gone in a few seconds, the skin patched over and healed as if nothing had even happened. Revitalized, the woman grinned. She was ready to take them on now. She gripped her blade a bit more tightly and stepped to the edge of the rafters. Time to have some fun~!

Black Mage (Level 2)

EXP: 0/5

Alexander – West Slums

Jaspon fell back against the ground, the staff in his hands only just lifting quick enough to catch the attack from the familiar grey beast now mere inches form his face. The teen pushed forwards with his arms, bringing his knee up into the creature's stomach, and managed to shove it from him. Though with great difficulty. As both found their footing, their eyes locked and a challenge began, both fighters daring the other to attack first. They circled, never breaking contact, before the wolf lost patience. It pounced forwards but missed its target. Jaspon, with a yell, slammed the staff down on the wolf's. Hardly damaging, but with some effect. Jaspon managed to keep up the tactic of dodge and strike for two more attempts of the wolf with some success, but his opponent was smart. It interceded his evasive jump, knocking the teen to the ground and his staff from his hands. Jaspon rolled onto his back and stared up at the wolf in horror, its teeth set in what seemed like a sinister smirk. His heart pounding and body trembling, Jaspon chanced a glance back at the staff. His heart dropped. It almost seemed too far for him to reach, but he had to try. Pushing himself back he began to crawl towards it, his body still facing the wolf as it advanced on his pathetic form. It took only a second for the wolf to catch up, but, despite his doubts, the staff was now in Jaspon's hand, and it suddenly occurred to him what he could have used without it. He aimed the crystal and felt his power surge towards, the heat and strength. Then, with one word, it ripped from the now shining crystal, like lantern-light at twilight.
"Fire!" Jaspon bellowed, still shaking in fear.

The wolf yelped as the ball of flames flew straight for it, the force of the spell as it collided knocking back a few feet. Jaspon lay stunned for a moment, the adrenaline and terror still coursing through his veins like a virus infecting his mind and body. When his mind caught up with what had been happening and realised what he had just done, killed a monster, he felt a mixture of joy and guilt. It was his first kill for the tournament. But he had just killed an innocent creature. Yes, it had attacked him as he slipped quietly from Central Alexander into the Western Slums, but it was not here by choice. It had not chosen to die.

Pushing all thoughts along those lines form his mind, Jaspon returned it to the matter at hand. His father had taught him better than to do this kind of thing. Jaspon pushed himself to his feet and, after grabbing his hat and discarded bag, turned his gaze on what was left of the mountain wolf from his home land, Garrom. The magical flames had burned through fur and skin, singing and scorching wherever it had not penetrated deep enough. The smell of burning and death was strong in the air, and so, with a muttered apology, Jaspon turned to find his next target. It did not take long.

After walking for only a moment, the teen black mage came across a collection of dead Opo-opo almost in a circle around a shifting figure. It was as if they were protecting whatever was lying on the ground amongst them. He stepped with caution, careful not to put his boot down on any of them. Soon enough, it became clear what was in the centre of them. An injured Opo-Opo lay squirming in pain, though making no noise. It was quiet clearly younger than the rest, though old enough that it was considered to be of fighting age.

The creature looked up at him with suspicion, but not fear he saw. It did not surprise Jaspon that the little Opo did not trust him after the way his family had been slaughtered. It was not a spell as far as he could see, but had taken them all down in only a few strikes, as far as he could see. Slowly, the Opo revealed the true extent of the damage. And he was beyond repair, at least as far Jaspon's abilities could go. For a moment, Jaspon did not understand why it did not resist him. But it finally occurred to him as his eyes took in again the sight of the massacre. Nodding solemnly, he moved forwards with his staff raised.
"I'm sorry..." He brought the staff down on it, slaying his second of the tournament. Even as dead claimed it, the Opo had shown no fear.
'If only I could be as brave.'

He shook his head of the sympathy for the poor monsters in the tournament, and replaced his hat on his head. Shifting the bag and readying his staff, Jaspon took off into the slums to continue his hunt, but with even more reluctance than he had first felt in the competition to kill.

Mediator (Level 1)

EXP: 3/5

Alexander - West Slums

There was little time to focus on the other participants, but from the corner of his eye he would see many. Having a Chocobo afforded him great mobility when changing his location - a capability that he used to rapidly move between spots with monster activity. While at first he would mostly have a clear line of sight and manage to aim his shots to his enemies prior to withdrawing, increasingly he would find other participants already engaging their enemies. As he shot down an already-wounded Coeurl that was about to strike down a fighter, the audience cheered and Rote beneath him let out a slight "Kweh".

"What do you mean "We don't get points for helping out others"?" Dyranor asked with a small laugh before pulling the reins to turn to another alleyway.
Sure this was a competition but the Elvaan probably felt less of a sense of rivalry than was expected. Perhaps even to an extent that his Chocobo would seem more competitive. The Chocobo with bright-red feathers in its crest did help attract some attention. Competitors had varying reactions to him, but then, most were finding their own methods of fighting monsters. Some formed parties. Some were perhaps even formed prior to the festival and entered as teams. Rote and Dyranor would probably be some form of the latter. The other participants that heard his rifle and noticed him turn his Chocobo prior to relocating seemed quite determined not to lose to this duo and fought quite bravely.

Still on the run, Dyranor reloaded his rifle. The center of Alexander certainly provided ample prey. The Coeurl must have become his seventh kill, if his estimate was correct. Still, many hunters had picked this area as their hunting ground. The greater number had to be released here, in Central Alexander. But the monsters' path wasn't likely to be completely blocked by the various fighters. A few wounded participants seen withdrawing or recuperating proved to Dyranor that the beasts had slipped by them and into other areas of the city. If he moved now, then perhaps he would still manage to chase down a few before the others got a drop on them. Sword, gun, spell, bow, lance - there was no limit to what those taking part in the festival were using to bring down monsters around here. And that meant no limit to those he'd have to compete with if he stayed in the place the majority of hunters was using. Relocation became a matter of keeping up.

Determined to pursue an advantageous position, the Elvaan directed his trusty Chocobo towards the West Slums. They stopped once there with Dyranor listening carefully to his surroundings. Of course the sounds of fighting were here too, but the onlookers were somewhat less interested in the narrow streets, their cheering becoming a somewhat more distant background noise. When he continued moving it was at a slower pace, both him and his Chocobo understanding the need for some more discretion right now. In a way the rhythm of the hunt became less frantic here... But not for long. A sound made Dyranor turn in his saddle, rifle primed and ready to shoot. However at the other end of the street was not a monster - he saw a youth. As he observed the mage hat he lowered his rifle, feeling some slight relief and even smiling briefly at a fellow competitor.

This moment of calm however was short-lived. An urgent and alarmed noise came from his Chocobo and Dyranor turned, distracted from the young black mage before they could exchange greetings. Luckily it was still in time to see an enemy he'd yet to encounter. With a lithe scaled body and an elongated muzzle full of needle-like teeth, it was a Verian Raptor. The creature showed up on the opposite end of the street. Needless to say its intents were clear. Dyranor was pretty sure Rote wouldn't be able to start moving fast enough to run from it. He could only see one for now, but others could have been coming too. Raising his rifle once more, he fired a shot, but the beast jumped to the side, hissing angrily and speeding up in its run towards the saddled Elvaan. Dyranor felt the tension increase as the distance between the lizard-like creature and himself rapidly decreased. Another shot caused the raptor to pause as the bullet hit the ground just in front of it. Luckily Rote didn't use this time to just stand in one place, moving towards the other end of the street and closer to the black mage. Another threatening hiss came from the raptor as it charged them with renewed vigor.

Tyron Balance

Dancer- Level 1

EXP: 3/5

Alexander- Central (The Rooftops)

Tyron had only been paying attention to The Hunt in a rather half-assed way, given the rather generous and wonderful distractions in which he was able to partake on this particular day, and the alcohol he had been imbibing were proving to further his pursuits of certain physical pleasures. Lorna was proving much friskier today than usual, probably due to an unexpected windfall with both the dice and bets which they had been taking since the early morning, money always seemed to make Lorna content, and when that voluptuous Roegadyn was happy you could be assured that Tyron was all the much more so. Luckily today had proven somewhat overcast as well, taking a hefty bite from that usually blistering sun that ravaged Alexander at this time of year and day, especially on the rooftops. From what he could tell though the fighting had progressed to a point where the rooftop-spectators needed to migrate or wait for the return of the Hunters, which one might be surprised how many were actually inclined to merely stay seated and enjoy whatever entertainment in which they might be participating.

As the Dancer surveyed the rooftops around him, whilst the crowds began filing across the make-shift bridges which always appeared during The Hunt, he was quite at odds with what exactly he wanted to do himself. His three companions were going to stay on where they were, the Guild seemed very particularly about these sorts of things from what he had gathered, and Lorna’s friendliness was proving very enjoyable at the moment. The Dancer could not let himself grow too accustomed to this sort of situation though, she was definitely more than capable for a roll in the hay and sight for sore eyes, but getting close to people on an emotional level went against everything in which he believed. That line of reasoning very nearly made up his mind on the spot, after all he was the very experienced in such areas and things like emotional attachment could prove very detrimental if any unforeseen circumstances should rear their ugly heads.

After a few more minutes of toying with the ample charms of Lorna, Tyron finally stood up and bowed in his oh-so-singular style, β€œSo sorry friends, but I do feel it is time to start hopping from top to top and getting a bit better idea of the competition now.”

β€œWell look who’s too good to stick around with us now? Don’t expect me to be so friendly when you come crawling back here after catchin’ a slap to the face later on!” Obviously Lorna was rather displeased with this, what should be at least, rather predictable turn of events, but Tyron was sure that she was just feeling a bit spurned at the moment. When he came back around later, as he always did, she would assuredly be much more compliant with his familiar attitude than she claimed she would, something of which the Cremiere was trying to take advantage.

β€œYou never know Lorna, they might just end up being slaps from a particular someone who we know quite well. Anyways though, I’m off to check out the action. See you three in a bit!” Before they could get another word in edgewise, something which he tried to ensure with every exit he intended, the Dancer had already vaulted off, leaping from rooftop to rooftop thanks to his amazing natural talents in hopes of seeing as much of the fighting as possible.

Alsa Crescent

Dragoon (Level 2)

EXP:1/5

Alexander (Central)– Stairs to the East Slums

This was it, the final place the girl thought she would wander into to conclude this festivals events. Alsa waved her hair back and sighed. Even if the lancer was right at the border between the two districts, she wasn't sure if she really wanted to take the steps. It wasn't the town that worried her but the sudden feeling that she needed to be in the central Alexander with as much time that was given. Alsa suddenly turned facing the large buildings behind her. Her gaze then looked down to the brick ground that had been painted in the beast's blood. The cremiere's eyes began to close as if in a she were contempt with the sight. It only followed with a subtle sigh before the lids that covers her irises opened. It was then when the teal eyes locked straight and the feet of the owner began to move. With her right hand gripping the lance tight, her left was the only one available to move her coat back in position from feeling the sleeve slide down from her right shoulder. The warrior moved forward ready for what awaited her.

As the cremiere walked back into the bloodshed district of central Alexander. She could smell the stench of blood upon the ground as she walked down the streets of the district. Occasionally her foot would step into small puddles of blood upon the ground in which she felt a few drops cross her ankles and through the walk she could only hear the steps of participants walking back towards the center. It was quite obvious by the sound their steps made in which she could pinpoint the directions in which they were going. Alsa noticed the taru and his group come from the alley, they gave no acknowledgement towards her and continued down the road towards the center. From their expressions they looked worn out. Alsa stood watching the three walk off down the streets and out of sight. It was only then when she began to hear drops as if pebbles were hitting her hat. She lifted her hand only to catch rain drops fall into her palm. The amount of drops increased and became heavy as she could hear it fall upon buildings in the distance. The woman's hand rose to adjust her hat as she began walking a little faster walking over small puddles of water that began to wash the blood from the streets and into the creases between the stones upon the ground.

As Alsa walked quickly through the streets and alleyways she too found herself heading in the direction towards the center of the district. The warrior found no sign of any creatures about and didn't feel like wandering anymore. Her legs held strong yet overall she was exhausted and didn't want to go forward with the event, especially when the challenge wasn't at all challenging as they made it out to be but it was tradition in Celnaria and to a point she felt happy about it. With a stretch of relief her eyes squinted as her hands and arms went into the air. Her left leg also stretched to the side slightly before repositioning itself. The moment only felt at peace for only a second before the woman began walking once more.

In the center of Alexander the goobbue was being placed into the cage until suddenly a bright pinkish aura fallen onto the creature and turned its rough skin dark and black. Suddenly the monster thrashed breaking the cage in the process with roars to follow. The crowd jumped in fear and some began fleeing. This only made the goobbue rush the benched areas in which they were. It didn't take him long to slash one of the support beams which caused some of it to collapse. The creature then knocked over some flames in which soon followed with the creature knocking the flame pillar down which began the flames in the center. It didn't take long for the flames to grow. two of the adventurers who didn't run grabbed their pistols they carried and shot at the monster but with only 6 rounds they began fleeing themselves only to be chased. The two men ran down the streets as the giant monster chased after them. Suddenly they saw Alsa and waved, gesturing for her to go away. She only then saw the monster crash through the side of the building which made her go wide eyed and took immediate action of leaping into the air quickly jabbing the monster as it went under her which got the monsters attention. The goobbue hit Alsa mid air which made her fall upon the ground only to tumble slightly. She got up from the wet ground wiping her mouth feeling some blood that was drawn and then noticed soon after that the creature was suddenly fixated on her which made her grip her weapon ready. She wasn't sure how she had to fight this thing but none the less she was ready and with a grin she spun her lance before holding it in front of her.

"Lets do it..."

Black Mage (Level 2)

EXP: 1/5

Alexander – West Slums

The small smile that spread on the gunman's face as he ceased aiming his rifle at Jaspon made the youth sigh quietly in relief. The air was still and noise near muted in the slums where they had ventured. Jaspon knew that such periods of silence in situations such as this were merely calms before the storms. Regardless, however, he lowered his weapon, which had too raised at the sight of the other, and took a small moment to study the elvann man and his steed. The rifle revealed to the black mage his own fighting style, though his class was slightly harder to determine. Perhaps a Chemist, though very unlikely in Jaspon's opinion from the look of him and his chocobo. There was also an archer, but from the expression of the man and his appearance, groomed and at his best, Jaspon felt it too was unlikely. Instead, he guessed this man was a mediator, a silver tongue.
'I'll have to keep my eye on this one.' He thought with a slight smile of his own.

Jaspon took a step forwards and drew breath to introduce himself, but their introductions were interrupted as the chocobo made noises of distress and drew their attention to the new creature near them. The gunman hurriedly raised his weapon to the creature and fired, but missed their attacker. Jaspon took a step back and raised his staff, ready to fight if he had to. Another shot was fired, but again it did not find its target. In retreat, the man began to move his Chocobo towards Jaspon. The black mage sighed and lifted the hat from his head, tossing it to the side, and lifted his staff. The crystal began to glow red and radiate heat, the fire spell quickly becoming ready to cast. When the Verian Raptor, a creature Jaspon was yet to meet, came close enough while it charged for the rider, Jaspon inhaled deeply and forcefully shoved staff towards the creature and shouted the spell required.
"Fire!" A ball of burning red light erupted from the end of his staff, the crystal's shine matching the spell's, and a wave of heat washed over the caster's body.

When his eyes had adjusted to the new lighting, he saw the Raptor, and his heart fell. The Raptor was not a smouldering carcass as he hoped it would have been. There was a burn all along its left side from his fire spell, but he had succeeded only in angering the beast - and drawing its attention towards him. His heart stopped as it took a step towards him.
"Damn," he muttered. It charged him, but he was somewhat ready, swinging his staff in a powerful arc. The end struck the Verian Raptor hard but again was not enough to defeat it. He fell backwards out of the reach of the raptor's attack. Jaspon pulled himself to his feet and swung his staff once more, though with desperation. It struck again and stumbled his enemy. the sound of claws tapping and hissing echoed form an alleyway not far from them. More were coming, and Jaspon knew that the two of them would not be enough to fight them all. He turned his gaze to the rider and called to him.
"We need to get out of here," his voice shook as fear gripped him. "Any chance of a lift?" He asked half-jokingly and gave a short breath of laughter while staring back at the raptor who was regaining its balance.

Red Mage [Level 2]

EXP:1/5

Alexander - Central

The viera stood on the edges of the rooftop, staring back down at the back of wolves that growled at her noisily. They seemed disturbed by her, that much was logical though, considering she had killed a few of their kin. The question now was how best to deal with them from such a height? She could jump down and attempt to fight them but she was certain she would get mauled for doing so. There were still four left and the risk of getting severely hurt was too high. She whistled at the wolves almost playfully, causing them to snap up at her. How fierce-some indeed!

She leaned up, pushing her hair over her shoulder. It wasn't as if she had to kill them, the point total did not matter to her. And it wouldn't be long before another competitor came down the streets and the wolves would have a new contender. She clicked her tongue, looking over her shoulder. Maybe it would be best to traverse on the rooftops for now to avoid having to interact with any more monsters.

A flash of bright light and several accompanying gunshots made the woman look towards the east. Hm, that seemed to be where the action was?

With a new sense of direction and excitement flowing through her, the viera drew in a deep breath and took a running start towards the edge. She jumped across, landing neatly on the other roof and straightening. Well, she was no dragoon but it was fortunate that the gaping between roofs was small enough so that she could make it. She didn't want to run towards the site, however, doing so would only exhaust her. She kept her pace quickened as she tottered on the rafters.

Her ears twitched, swaying in the faint breeze as she picked up something. Movement? It wasn't coming from down below her though. That noise was similar to the one she was making... was there someone up here too? She paused, squinting her eyes as she peered around. She had to adore her vieran senses--it made tasks like this that much easier.

After a few minutes of glancing around, she spotted what she had been looking for... Which wasn't a what at all but a who! He was agile and quick, jumping easily from rooftop to rooftop. Was he another contender? He didn't look like the others though and she hadn't seen him in the square during signups! She was curious, however, and didn't feel a sense of animosity towards him. After all, he wasn't specifically her enemy.

A smile crossed her lips as she watched him. They were both headed in the same direction, it seemed. Chuckling under her breath, she breathed out before calling out to him. "Hey, wait up!" He looked to be a cremiere so she was certain that he heard her. They had sharp senses just like her. Whatever had caused that outburst of light couldn't have been a regular monster, not with the frantic nature of the gunshots. So perhaps having a companion along for the exploration wouldn't be a bad idea.

She bounded after him with a spring in her step, eyes alit with intrigue. This was turning out to be more fun than she had anticipated.

Tyron had been bounding between rooftops easily during his quest to find the best the Hunt had to offer, the wind whipping through his hair and exhilarating his senses as only true freedom such as this could, a sensation that served to sooth his fiery-spirit. He was surprised that so few other spectators had deigned to travel this far through the city itself, rather unusual given the circumstances of this competition, but not altogether unheard of to be honest, the festival had been going for some time today and most of them had been out in the heat for the majority of it. Besides that there were few who could claim to be as athletic as the Cremieren Dancer named Tyron Balance, a being who loved to showcase how well his surname fit him.

A shout caught his attention though, not long after a brilliant flash of light and flurry of gunfire did as well, the first grabbing his interest at the possibility of viewing the big fight, and the second piquing his intrigue as the call sounded somewhat effeminate. When the Dancer turned to bring the individual into his line of sight he was practically forced to wait and for the figure, blurred by vision and less-than-stellar eyesight. The wait definitely worth it, even if just to spark his curiosity even more, as he was unfamiliar with the species with which he was confronted, but the curves were certainly much more familiar. A quick flicker of his eyes went up and down the other's figure as a broad smile spread across his lips, and his body went to bow deeply and with a brilliant swirl of his arms, as only a majestic individual as himself could do.

"Well, good afternoon miss. Might I ask if you are on your way to see what all the fuss is about over there?"

She was mildly surprised at his need for theatrics but it was endearing in its own way. She had a feeling that this show of chivalry wasn't all it was cracked up to be, given that broad smile he had but she'd let it slide for now. At least she had some relief she wasn't in her traditional garb!

She was slightly out of breath when she reached him and sighed, taking a moment to compose herself. "Yes, I am~" She chimed, brushing her hair back again casually. It was a touch windswept but she'd deal with it later. Good, so they were definitely going to the same place. "Perhaps you'd like to accompany me? You seem capable enough." She ended with a bit of a giggle before winking at him and carrying on ahead. She was sure he would follow her and it was nice that he was friendly enough, at least.

Now time to discover what on earth was happening in the eastern part of the central area.

Mediator (Level 1)

EXP: 4/5

Alexander - East Slums

The young black mage was putting up quite a fight even if Fire was perhaps the only spell he knew at the time. In fact he'd gone so far as to retaliate against the Raptor even when it closed distance. As he asked if he could hitch a ride the rider and the Chocobo exchanged but a momentary glance. Well, the three were already making something of a team-effort. And one way or another just leaving him in the alley to become a snack for the Raptors didn't sound like a very decent idea. A mere second after Dyranor leaned down with an outstretched hand and grasped that of the young mage, helping him into the back of the saddle. The action was performed not without applying some strength to the pulling motion as unfortunately they had little time to board him with due comfort.

"Now-now, boy. He can't weight all too much." The Elvaan remarked to Rote, near simultaneously pulling his trigger to gun down the staggered raptor. At least at this range and after both the Fire spell and the impact of the boy's staff it proved incapable of dodging. One pursuer less and one that would have had the most of a head-start at that. Hopefully the black mage wouldn't be too upset about this kill ending up in Dyranor's pocket.

Rote barely needed an order by now. Just about as soon as the rider made his little remark and the boy was in the saddle he flapped his wings a couple of times and dashed in the direction opposite to that from which the raptors were about to emerge. Surely enough they did, perhaps in time to see Rote's red tail-feathers rapidly gathering distance. Hopefully the young black mage was holding Dyranor around the waist at this point or otherwise supporting him because the Chocobo with red feathers proved capable of quite impressive bursts of speed. Dyranor meanwhile seemed mostly at ease with the ride, even at this pace, leaning down slightly in his saddle. Later he would have to reload his rifle, but that would only come when they stop at a relatively safe spot. Wherever one could even be found if groups of raptors were around in the slums by now.

Still, the Elvaan was mostly satisfied. A decent number of kills was paired with having suffered no damage. Cost of spent ammunition notwithstanding of course. Still, somehow the difficulty seemed to be gradually increasing. It was a good thing he picked up a battle-capable passenger. With them near-well out of range of their pursuers, a few fighters spilling out onto the street at a crossroad and engaging the Raptors who were all too happy to strike at something they didn't have to chase, their path now lead towards the East Slums of Alexander.

"Hope you don't mind a little change of scene. How are you holding up by the way?" Dyranor asked in a friendly manner, Rote's pace slowing down dropping if only a little and giving the Elvaan rider a chance to both reload his rifle and check on the well-being of the black mage in the back of his saddle.

Tyron Balance
Dancer – Level 1
EXP: 4/5
Alexander- Central (The Rooftops)

Tyron grinned as broadly as a Cheshire cat at the sight of the rather attractive stranger as she approached, more so at how well he thought having her hair tousled and breathing heavy fit her than in her answer to his inquiry, but that was definitely worthy of a broad grin as well. A slight chuckle escaped from the dancer’s lips at the woman’s, somewhat, unnecessary question and the light teasing she directed his way, he didn’t think it necessary to prove just how capable he was at the moment, but there was almost never a problem with the slightest displays of skill. He allowed a slight pause to pass as the curvaceous woman turned and began traversing the rooftops once again, wanting to take in the sight of her . . . assets momentarily before commencing to follow her, calling out somewhat jokingly, β€œWell, I can’t find anything that convinces me not to, miss.”

Other than their initial, and brief, initial exchange of words though, very little was said between Tyron and the stranger as they travelled to the disturbance on the other side of the area, probably for different reasons though. He could only imagine what kept his current companion quiet, but by the look he managed to catch on her face every now and again and the intent with which she stared off at their destination it might be curiosity at what they would find once they arrived. His reasons were a touch more personal though, he didn’t want to offer any unnecessary information to some stranger who just walked up to him while scrounging for excitement in the Hunt, and asking too many questions never sent out the appropriate vibes he found conducive to information gathering. Despite the quiet between them, Tyron would say he was still extremely pleased with his current company, at the least for being able to watch her run and jump about; it was making him extremely anxious to get back to Lorna soon.

Tyron was impressed at how athletic the woman proved to be, showing she was more than capable of handling the trek across the rooftops, even if this was the more crowded section of the city, but he would have much preferred the pace at which he had been moving prior to their meeting. The anticipation and boredom, as well as wanting to prove his abilities just a tad-bit, had Tyron tending towards taking the more difficult jumps and higher routes whenever possible, but only performing mild acrobatic feats, nothing too spectacular or of particular note. He did notice more movement across the rooftops as they neared their destination though; however it seemed they were the only ones travelling towards the disturbance closer to the central of Center Alexander, piquing his curiosity as to what had happened.

It took them a relatively short amount of time to arrive at the area they wanted and catch the tail-end of whatever the hell had happened earlier, finding an area covered in flames with what appeared to be a Cremiere Dragoon in battle with a goobbue. β€œWell, it looks like I found the right place to view a decent fight, even if it doesn’t last all that long. Sure am glad I’m smart enough to not take part in this fool’s tourney.” With that Tyron looked around for a decent enough balcony to claim as his perch and laid down on his side with his left arm propping up his head, he needed to be comfortable while watching a fight after all. He turned his head to look at the woman after situating himself, β€œSo, care to take a seat?”

(Remember to look on Patch:1.20x: Trial to see a preview of what the battle post should look like. Also please read the OOC to see a typed out explanation of the system! For a tip note here: Do not auto hit/ spell hit, everything comes down to an attempt, what determines hit comes down to my next post. Also watch your character's surroundings and environment they all come into play. Also additional info: We'll be skipping Boren until he finally is able to commit back to rp finally. I know its been a while so if you don't remember this RP's rule/mechanics feel free to read over them. All though this is counted as a boss fight, Its also a test to see if i need to increase the difficult or not. )

Message to all: Remember most of you only recognize Alsa as a "Lancer", sometimes its hard to believe a living legend upon a young person. Lancers are common especially coming from Vidaria. If you're from Vidaria you have heard stories that someone among you was the soul of a dragoon especially since it became slightly new news. Some areas have spread the rumor but slightly vague. No one currently knows who it is other then about 55% of Vidaria depending on your activity among the city itself.

Also I added a roll system that I WILL be doing and this will be used when you attempt do anything IN BATTLE. Outside is still the same for all your skills with the task check. If you want to know everyones roll then look below. Each round i post.

A note to spell casters: Keep in mind and read my post well and learn of your effects on some monsters. I will not say what certains spells will do to some.

Please look in the OOC to see the new category explaining about Fighting.

For Jaspon:
"Lets go Rote!" Dyranor said and immediately the chocobo dashed off through the street. The ride was slightly bumpy as the bird ran through the streets filled with broken barrels and blood that had already began being washed away by the rain. As the man with the chocobo got to the scene the chocobo kwee'd out in a screech coming to a halt.

"It seems Rote doesn't want to go further… I'll most likely let you off here… be careful… As for me, I'll be checking on the rest of the town. Lad be safe"

Once you get off you see a dragoon battling a giant monster and two other humanoid near by.

Alexander (Central)– Streets

A clap of thunder echoed into the cremiere's ear as her right hand grip tightened around the pole arm. It's spear readied to jab any foe bound to charge her. The warrior could feel the rain shower down upon her and by this point her clothing had been drenched, her fur wet and all at the same time the fog of the cold rain only slightly fogged her vision. In the ambience you could hear barrels in the alley way tipping over and rolling. Town people panicking from a far. Alsa knew this threat had to be taken down soon. The lancer looked the foe in the eye with only a light step against a small puddle in front of her. The goobbue watched carefully with only a snarl from its large mouth. It wasn't long until the Cremiere wanted to act because it was only seconds that the beast would. In the distance the girl could only see a what looked to be a another cremiere whom obviously isn't from Vidaria looking by his clothing and a viera whom showed signs of being a Vidarian citizen. She shook her head wanting to call out to them but didn't. The woman had decided to act and leapt backwards doing a flip before grasping the bottom of her lance. The dragoon than gave a slight battle roar as she charged forward, her feet barely touching the ground before attempting to strike towards the beast whom at the same point began to charge upon her. As the girl approached the beast she suddenly stopped. The water beneath her rose up only a foot from the friction before she leapt, only using her natural athletic abilities. When in the air the girl moved griped the pole arm tight as she adjusted it to where the spear was held as if it was a two-handed sword. Her elbows were right over her head as the arms were behind her. As she descended finally and Immediately she her lance down barely missing the goobue whom stopped just in time to look up and notice the attack alas was making. He roared at the threat ready to begin his attack.

The goobbue roared out releasing some spit towards the cremiere as his breath came out as well. He than and attempted In retaliation to Alsa's attack to raise his arm and strike down upon the cremiere who assaulted him and was about to land after her attack. His hand went across her face only to miss. Had the girl not evaded quickly by barely by falling she'd been hit. The beast picked himself up recovering his arm from the miss as he noticed the cremiere leaping backwards and spun her lance with her right hand as the left moved her hair back. The girl could only smile not expecting the battle to be this hard.

"Damn..hehe"

Her eyes moved upon the two near the scene.

"If you two are civilians I suggest you move from this area... Otherwise feel free to assist... this is no ordinary beast!" She exclaimed. She could only think it was foolish of them to attempt to tame such a thing.
