Guardians of the Zodiac

Guardians of the Zodiac

The Zodiac stone calls fourth it's new protectors. (New RULE has been added!)

5,430 readers have visited Guardians of the Zodiac since NightBlaze created it.

Introduction

Legend has it, that twelve people, were chosen to protect the power of the Zodiac Stone. Image

This stone held the power of the universe, and upon receiving its protectors, it gave them each a Zodiac Sign, and a power that went along with the sign. Leo, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Each symbol had a Guardian to protect it. Each Guardian had learned how to harness the element of the Zodiac sign, for their own advantage. For centuries, these twelve have protected the Zodiac Stone with their lives. Until the day a demon had emerged from a parallel universe known as Ioka. This demon and his followers tore through the village of the Zodiac, stealing the Zodiac Stone from the Guardians. Tearing away memories. The Guardians of the Zodiac, were left with no memory of anything.

For a thousand years, the Zodiac Stone laid in the hands of the demon. The demon, trying to use the power of the Zodiac Stone to kill off Earth. The Guardians have all had families, died, and let the next generation do the same, all while the powers of the Zodiac get passed down from generation to generation, just waiting to be called upon.

Now the year has come, it is 2012, and the Zodiac Stone has chosen it's new Guardians. Sending out powerful signals, the stone has activated the Guardian's powers, calling to them, calling them to Ioka. But the demon knows about the reawakening of the Guardians, and has sent his followers to stop them at all costs, and to gain the Guardians' Powers to use the Zodiac Stone. Only the Guardians can see these black figures, and only they can kill them, but the followers, known as Demoirs, can kill humans, and other mortal things. Image

It is up to the Twelve Guardians to stop the demon, but will they be able to figure out who they really are in time, or is Earth doomed? You make the story.

Ciara sat clicking her tongue softly as she scrolled through the audio files she was working on, syncing it with the inverted track. And then lining it up

"Well once again they've just submitted a tiny variation and called it a new track." She sighed shaking her head "Seems to work all the same."

Picking up her cup of tea from the desk She leant back in her chair, swivelling around before sipping the sweet tea. The steam rising from the cup slowly began to swirl around the desk, causing her to tilt her head, mouth opening slightly in confusion.

"What on Ear-"

In the space of a heartbeat she was thrown out of her chair as the room was filled with winds the force of a hurricane, with her spiralling in the eye of this controlled storm, sparks of lightning rippling down her arms and jumping from her hands as the storm began to degrade around her.

"ARRRGGHHH AHH" She screamed, waving her arms wildly, her body twisting and convulsing with her cries of agony as she was plucked from within the eye and thrown from one end of the room to the other as the power of the storm escalated again before crashing into the window and shattering the glass then flying into the wall and back into her couch; finally landing with a thud on the soft rug.

"uh... oww." she mumbled softly into the fabric beneath her. "This can't be happening" she growled as she began to raise her head slightly from the floor.

In response to her fury and pain fuelled words the storm rushed down, pinning her forcibly to the ground before flipping her over. Her final thought before her blood and tear stained vision went black chilled her to her core.

Was she somehow responsible?

Isis looked at the dress and then walked over to the shoes, "I think a pair of silver or red heels would look wonderful."

As she rummaged around the shoes, a feeling suddenly hit her. it was almost, a burning sensation. She felt sick, turning to the other woman, she put her hand on her mouth, "I'm sorry, but I am not feeling so good."

With that she ran to the bathroom. Laura looked confused and went up to the woman she was helping, "Sorry about that. I can help if you'd like."

Isis stared at herself, she felt a burning sensation cover her entire body. She looked down at her hands, and gasped, they were on fire! She ran her hands under the water, which extinguished the fire. But soon after, they ignited again. What the hell? The fire didn't hurt, but it sure as hell made her feel powerful. She ran around, trying to find something to put the fire out. A loud noise suddenly went off as the fire alarms buzzed. She gasped and fell back into the wall, and fell to the ground.

Laura looked up and looked around, there wasn't any fire. Rushing to the back, she didn't notice any either. But, she smelt fire... Running back upfront she announced; "Everyone please, make your way calmly to the exit, and can someone call the fire department." Then it hit her, "Where's Isis? ISIS!" She ran back and tried to find the source of the fire.

Isis started at the fire that was started to creep up her arms. Tears were falling down her face, "What's happening to me!?" She screamed. She closed her eyes and imagined the fire disappearing. When she opened them again, the fire was gone. She screamed again.

Laura burst through the bathroom door, "Isis, what's wrong? Are you okay?"

Isis looked up at her, "I'm going home." With that she ran out the door and to her vehicle.

Aqua smiled, and left the change on the counter. She had enough money to last herself a while. She raised a slender brow as she started to walk out of the botique. As soon as she touched the door she fell backwards. It was as if she were hit by someone invisible. "Ow." She said looking around. She shakily got up, her lower body cramping. "It's not time for my period... why these cramps." She thought to herself as she got in her car. She was shivering violently now, beads of sweat were rolling down her face and back. Her cramping had gotten worse, then as if it had started it stopped. Aqua closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she was just tired. She looked down at her dress to examine it once more, until she noticed something else. She screamed.

"I'm a FISH!" She sobbed, she loved swimming, but not to the point she wanted to be a fish! She examined her arms and looked in the mirror. Her upper half was still human at least...She shrieked when she saw her hair. "No! No! No!" She pouted, her gorgeous Aqua colored hair was now water, it was as blue as the Carribean Sea. There went her car detail. She looked around to make sure no one could see what was going on. There was nobody on the streets. "How weird." She commented to herself. Reaching for her phone, she quickly dialed her boss's number. "Sorry Mr. Johnson, I got food poisoning... I can't come back to work." There was a loud sigh on the phone, and then a click.

She dialed her second number. "Mooooomy!!! I'm a FISH! My Hair is WATER! Help!" She wailed into the phone. There was a laugh on the phone, then another sigh. "Come home...did you see anyone else act strange?" Aqua was confused... her mom was so calm...but why. "Yeah... this girl." She rolled down her window and looked at the girl standing at her vehicle. She couldn't remember her name... Suddenly a Name came to the back of her mind. "Leo!" She yelled to the girl hoping to get her attention. She looked down at her fish tail and noticed it was gone. Her hair however, was still a cascade of water.

Get up. Shower. Make breakfast.

Anne circled these commands in her head drowsily. She would have to get up eventually. Five more minutes. She had stayed up until twelve last night chatting with friends; bad habit, yes, but Anne took the opportunity to talk to friends anytime. It got pretty boring and lonely around her house when there wasn't anything she could really do. She'd beaten all her video games. She spent so much time on the computer that she was actually getting bored of it (shocker.) It's not like she could go out at night. She had to stay home and watch her little sister. Well, technically, no one ever told her to. But she felt obliged to do it anyway.

Blah blah blah.

Whatever.

Anne rolled out of bed and hit the floor with a dull thud. Finally, she pushed herself up and trudged to the bathroom, glancing at her reflection in the mirror, then looking back again. "Ha ha. Sheet lines." Her face was and neck were covered in them. She grimaced at the ugly markings. Hopefully the shower would make them go away. Thirty minutes later and she was fully dressed, combing her wet hair. She went and opened her sister's door, turning on the light. "Get up." Julia groaned and shoved her face in her pillow. Anne shrugged. "Breakfast in ten. Your choice." Then she walked to the kitchen and cleaned off the stove. She would make eggs and toast--breakfast of champions. "Rah, rah," she muttered to herself as she got the burner going.

Another typical morning.

Thankfully, Anne lived about a five minute's walk from her high school. So, after breakfast was done and Julia was on the bus (she preferred it to walking,) Anne slung her book bag over her shoulder grabbed her purse, and walked out the door. As she walked, she gazed up at the sky. It was starting to get colder, but Anne didn't mind. Somehow the cold weather was beautiful. She smiled dreamily up at the clouds, a gentle breeze tousling her hair. But even as she did that, a strange sense of foreboding lurked on her mind. She frowned, and the breezes stopped. Dropping her gaze ahead of her once more she realized that she had nearly stepped out into traffic. "Holy--" She lurched backwards and waited for the Walk light to turn green. "Oops. Ha ha." Third time she'd nearly gotten herself hit this week.

New record.

Isis stared at her vehicle, what had happened in the shop was unbelievable. Her arms were on fire, and it didn't hurt. Looking down, she wondered what else she could do... shaking her head she thought that was a crazy thought. Suddenly, a word rung out in the air, "Leo!"

She knew that name...she had heard that name before, she felt it was hers...turning around she noticed a woman looking at her through a car window, one thing came to her, Pisces "P-Pisces!"

She ran to the car and gasped at her hair, "Oh my god..." She looked around, to make sure no one was looking.

"Do you need help?"

"Leo!"

"Pisces!"

Anne halted in her tracks, her gaze dragged back down from the sky once more. She blinked, then frowned. Leo? Pisces? As in, the Zodiac? Anne looked to the left, at the Clothing Boutique, the quaint little shop she had passed by every day on her walk to school. She blinked lazily, watching as one woman ran up to the other, who was in a car. They exchanged a few words, and Anne's brow weighed heavily on her eyes. She swore she knew them. It was a small town, sure, but the familiarity she saw in the two faces was startling. She felt like she knew them personally, and a strange sense of foreboding once more washed over her. A rapid wind began to pick up, whipping Anne's hair about her face violently. She impatiently shook her hair away from her face and turned to gaze at the two quite intensely.

"I know them," she murmured, her words caught on the wind and drifting away. She squinted her eyes meaningfully. Those names sounded familiar, too. Anne felt like she had called them that before. A foggy image came to mind. A group of people... something to do with the stars. But try as she might, she couldn't remember. Then again, she didn't even know if it was an actual memory. Unconsciously, she began drifting towards the two woman, drawn in and quite unable to pull away.

Aqua sighed and ran her fingers through the water that should have been her hair. "This sucks... shoulda seen me when I was a fish." She chuckled, and pointed to the passenger side, "Get in... my mom seems to know what's up." Her eyes shifted to behind the woman. "Aquarius." She'd whisper, looking back to the girl she called Leo. She closed her eyes and wished for her hair to go back to normal, its long flowing aqua curls. Her hair seemed heavier than before. She ran her fingers through it, felt more like hair than water now. "Hop in you two... we better go see mom, before I turn into a fish and can't drive anymore.

She didn't seem aware of what Isis could do, but she just really wanted to go home and get in her bathing suit, and go for a nice swim.

Aira watched as the girl ran off saying she felt sick. She felt a little bad for her until she felt the same thing. The air was foul suddenly. All the metal in the room was nauseating. She held her stomach and her mouth as bile rose in her throat. She heard the girl scream from the restroom but Aira couldn't move. Then there was pain in her head like she's never felt before. "Gahhhhh!" She screamed out clutching her temples. Her vision blurred as she felt her skin tear. She was on her knees as blood dripped from her forehead as she felt weight increasing on her head. She slammed her hand down on the wooden counter and it protested with a crack. Aria pulled herself up and saw her reflection in a small face mirror on the counter. She screamed and nearly lost her grip. She held tight as her legs felt weak and looked at her reflection.
Protruding from her temples were long bull horns. The skin bled as the ivory white bones curved out and then bend at the end. They were heavy but not so heavy that she couldn't move her head.
"Leo!" She heard some cry and then some else called out. "Pisces!" Aira's head hurt and she pulled herself to her feet. She walked wobbly toward the exit and out to the street. "Someone help..." She managed to whisper before her body lost it's equalibirum. She stumbled forward reaching out for something to hold on to and one of those oddly placed trees between the street and the concrete sidewalk moved and it's limb wrapped around her body and kept her steady. Shockingly enough, she wasn't afriad. She held on to the branch and regained her balance. She relaxed and as the limb did. She moved her hand and the limb moved with it. Aira's eyes were wide and noticed she was not the only odd creature as a girl's hair turned from hair to Water then slowly back to hair. "Help me" She asked the girls. Holding her hands over the split skin where the horns broke free from.

Isis had got in, not doubting the woman. When she whispered Aquarius, Isis looked over at the woman who had come up. She nodded to the woman and then heard something else, a scream. Turning around, she saw a woman with bull horns sticking out. Gasping, she looked at the other two women and yelled the first name that came to her mind, "Taurus!"

She made a motion meaning stay here. Isis turned and took off running towards Taurus. "T-Taurus, I'm here! It's okay." She looked at the horn, and the tree limb that was wrapped around her. A gasp wanted to escape, but she kept calm.

"You need to calm down and get out of the tree branch. You need to come with us! That woman with the blue hair's mom might know what's going on."

She looked back to make sure that the other two were still there.

The cramps started up again. Her eyes opened in shock, "Guys hurry! I'm getting ready to go all fish on you guys!" She squeaked trying to get her cramps to stop. She wanted to help everyone, and get answers for herself. "Call me Aqua... everyone else does." She grimaced...the cramps were getting worse. She waited patiently for them, glad she was wearing a dress, or else she would have lost one of her favorite pair of jeans. Closing her eyes she cleared her mind, thinking about driving home. The cramps disappeared. She let out a soft sigh, as her mind sat in silence. Looking over at the woman with bull horns she frowned, how was she going to fit those in her car. "Try making them go away." She paused, "Imagine your free, without horns...." Shrugging she opened the car door, "I had a fish tail..and thats what I did."

Aria listened to the girls. One said to try imagining her without horns. She wanted to nod but felt she might fall over. She closed her eyes and focused. Soon she felt as if the horn sliding back into her skull, slowly. When she opened her eyes, her head felt lighter. She looked at the girl, Isis and nodded thanks. The tree limb loosen it's grip and returned to it's original position. She made her way with the girl to the blue haired girl's car. The metal made her nauseous and her skin crawl. "I think I'm gonna be sick." She muttered as she crawled wearily in the back seat. She laid her pounding head against the seat and tried to relax. Horns...Of all things horns... She thought as she passed out from exaugstion.

Isis smiled when the horns disappeared. She looked at Aqua, "Thanks Aqua." When the horned woman passed out from exhaustion, Isis sat down and buckled her body up, "Alright! Let's go!"

She was glad that everyone was okay, there was still the impending feel that something was happening, that something bad was going to happen. She felt as though all of them in this vehicle were connected somehow. She just didn't know how. She looked down at her hand. Earlier, this arm, and her other were a blazing inferno.

She tilted her head in curiosity. What else could she do with it? If it didn't hurt, then obviously is was a part of her. She felt like it was. Flexing her hand, she wondered how she got it to work.

Turned the car on, not even bothering to buckle up. "Girls ready? Good!" She laughed and put her car in reverse, then drive. "Now... don't freak out when we get where I'm going." She had to warn them.. their house was pretty huge... she remembered having friends freak and spazz because the house was huge. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the girl she called Leo flex her hand. "What can you do?" She asked curiously. Since she could turn into a fish and have water for hair... she wanted to know. She had already seen someone have bull horns. Aqua kept looking from the road to herself in the mirror to her legs. She had been a fish...well half fish.

They weren't to far from the house...she was scared. What did her mom know that she didn't? What was going on? She instantly thought of the movie The Little Mermaid. Laughing softly she blurted out, "Since I can go all half fish... maybe the Disney Movie the Little Mermaid was true? Maybe I'm Ariels great something grand daughter." She couldn't help but laugh. Maybe she was loosing her mind...could it all have been a dream? She sighed once more.

She loves to learn new things, just not in the cramped, antiseptic world of the classroom where she has to memorize facts and data. That's just not her. She likes to explore the world around her and feel everything it has to offer.
She turns the corner and comes to a dead stop seeing the city bus drive away. "Aaa...eee.shh!" she screams out in disgust, jumping up and down as she does, She pulls her smartphone from her bag pocket, "It's 7:02!" she yells in the direction of the bus, "You're early!" she yells again in the bus' direction.
Her whole body slumps as she rumages through her pockets and her red backpack to see if she has enough money for a taxi, "If I'm late, they'll lock the door. I'll miss my class." she whines pouring through every nook ad cranny of her school uniform and then her pack. "Ohhhh... This can't happen, not today. We have a test tomorrow." She fumbles through the coins she has, "Not even close. Not even enough to get picked up." she exhales.

Hoshi has no choice, it's walking today and no enrichment class. She'll have to study harder, "No free time tonight." she says defeated, walking along the riverside toward school. "I can just hear him now." she ponders shaking her head. She looks at her reflection in the water, "Hoshi Chan," Hoshi says in a voice mimicking the Temple Master. "You must be more diligent when it comes to managing your time. Had you been quicker in the morning, you'd have not missed your bus."

"Hey, that's pretty good." her reflection in the water tells her giggling, "It sounds almost like him."

"Yeah it does, doesn't..!" Hoshi freezes staring at the water, "What?"

"You sound just like him. You're good." her reflection complements her again.

"Nuh...nuh..nuh...nuh..." Hoshi stammers looking all around her trying to figure out where the voice is really coming from, "Th..th...th...this has to be a trick." she stammers more, searching for the real source of the voice. But there's no one else around. "You..you..."

"I...I...I... what. Hoshi?" the voice says. Whoever is doing this the imitation is perfect. "Look Hoshi. It's me. I'm talking. And moving. See?" the reflection says waving.

"No." she exhales loudly. "I'm... I'm... I'm having a...a... nervous breakdown. All my studying... the tests..." she looks around there's still no one. "I'm... I'm going... I'm going crazy." Hoshi drops her bag and races back toward the temple in a panic. She is sure she is having a psychotic break or something. She touches her head with her hand to check for an extreme fever, but there's nothing.
She rounds the corner and sprints toward the Temple, "SENSEI!" she screeches as she reaches the Temple gates, dashing into the compound, "SENSEI!" she screeches again. Her screaming brings the monks of the temple running from all directions; the kitchen, the meditation room, the library, the shower...everywhere. Hoshi slows and stops, dropping to her knees once she is surrounded by the comforting protection of almost the entire temple. "Sensei." she whispers through her pants, "Oh, God. Sensei, please. Please... help... me." she pants again.

"Let me through." a familiar voice echos through the group, "I said let me through." It's the Master's voice, it's shaky, concerned and uneasy; those are words that are seldom ever used to describe the Master. "I said... Get out of my way!" he commands, pushing his way through the monks and dropping to the ground holding the panicked girl. "Hoshi Chan, what's wrong?"

"Sensei," Hoshi pants and sputters, tears welling in her eyes, "I... I'm... I'm going crazy. I was... I was by the river and my reflection it, it talked to me." she tares at the Temple Master, "It talked to me. I'm... Am I..?"

The monks all look at one another murmuring their concerns. Hoshi looks up and around at the monks. At first, she's sure they're talking badly about her, that she has finally lost her mind. But, she realizes they're not. She turns back toward Master and his face shows great concern, but it's not the concern that she's crazy, it's something else.

"Hoshi Chan," Master says his voice calming, but still carrying a disturbed tone, "Hoshi Chan, please get a hold of yourself. You are not going crazy. I promise you, you are not going crazy." The Master hugs her tightly helping her to her feet. His behavior unnerves her. He's never been this emotionally supportive, Sensei is so cerebral, so detached, he could have been Spock. "Come Hoshi Futago. We must talk."

As the walk Hoshi can't but imagine how awful whatever has happened is. He NEVER calls her Futago. It's always the formal Hoshi Chan (Hoshi Girl). That he's being so familiar must mean it is something truly horrible. She almost would prefer that he tell her she has lost it and she's heading for the asylum.

When Aqua asked her what she could do, Isis looked at her, "Well, I think I can control fire. I was at work, and suddenly my hand bursts on fire, so I take it, that is that it is. You can call me Isis." She said smiling.

When Aqua told them not to freak out over the house, she laughed, "After what we all just went through, I am pretty sure that we are not going to freak out over a house." She looked out the window. Usually she was the type to freak out, but something told her that that was going to change. Something was really going on, and it wasn't something that any of them were going to like.

Astrea noticed the new driver's plate was placed a top the right hand corner of the bus' wind screen. Why the bus company thought it a good idea to place a new driver on duty during the morning rush hour period was beyond her. Needing to speak her mind, "I'm sorry and I know you're new here but there is a limit to how late you can be on the job. I've been waiting there for nearly half an hour.", she spoke with a frown to the bus driver as she paid her fares. She was obviously still disgruntled over having embarrassed herself but with the man's apologetic smile she couldn't help but let it go. His big nose and puppy eyes probable helped in her forgiving him, plus his one day beard looked rather dashing on him. Returning his smile she searched for a seat. She found some seats that had yet to be taken however that would mean needing to share it with someone and she wasn't quite ready to sit next to someone who had seen her nearly having a mental breakdown. So she decided to stand near the back exit, near a bubbly looking girl.

Five minuted into the ride Astrea had finally calmed down until looking through the exit window, she saw great spikes of dark brown earth piercing through the concrete sidewalks. It towered nearly half the height of the bus and had the width of two grown men. "Look up ahead! Watch out!", a man from the front shouted. Turning to look at the front wind screen of the bus she saw more of these monstrosities shooting up along the stretch of road, spewing pieces of asphalt, dirt and pebbles all around. Murmurs turned to screams as havoc soon ensued within the bus. Small pieces of asphalt and earth pitter pattered against the sides and roof of the bus as gashes of water now spewed about, causing the now cracked roads to be wet with patches of thrown earth turned to soggy mud.

"Hold on to a railing!", bus driver exclaimed as the bus swerved a hard left then a hard right trying to dodge one of these monstrous pikes but with the road now wet and at forty miles per hour, steering the metal death trap was like trying to stop ice skating at full speed downhill. Astrea had been holding onto a railing for a while now but she wasn't prepared for the momentum of the bus as it threw her against both sides of the bus before finally falling to the floor. She was not alone as some of the passengers were thrown off their seats. Those fortunate enough to hold onto a railing were hard pressed against one another. Astrea tried to get up but someone fell atop of her, pinning her down. She tried to scream but nothing came out.

The bus swerved another hard left, narrowly avoiding an oncoming car before smashing through a newly formed earth pike forcing it to a halt throwing half the commuters still holding onto the railings forward and for some atop the other. The car they missed wasn't so lucky as a spike burst beneath it, causing it to flip onto its sides and crashing against a lamp post. Now crushed under a pile of people with her lungs squeezed and deprived of oxygen, Astrea blacked out. The rumbling of the earth soon quieted down as the bus exits were flung open. Screams of the panicked passengers drowned the bus driver's attempts to calm them down as they scrambled to get through the exit. A minority came out unharmed with the majority having at least a bruise somewhere on their body though if anything unharmed. The earth, as quickly as it had shot great pikes into the air had stopped as well.

Her body no longer pressed down as they got off her, Astrea regained most of her senses in a daze as air refilled her lungs. Her body having flung about was sore and her mind was numb. In all her years never had there been a time where she went about thinking or worrying about nothing. Her mind was in a manner of speaking, empty. Rolling her shoulders back and forth a bit then checking to see if she still had control over her limbs, she struggled to get up on her feet. Her hands scrambled to hold onto the sides of one of the seats, "W-what happened?...", she asked aloud.

Ciara's eyelids fluttered slightly, parting the matted blood and sweat. Coughing loudly to dislodge more from her lips she dizzily raised herself slowly onto her elbows. Shaking her head slightly to reorder her thoughts she pushed herself a little higher before collapsing back down face first with a groan; having hit something hard directly above her head.

"uh... whut?" She mumbled as she rolled slightly to her left and looked up at whatever it was she'd hit her head on "Well... Thats unexpected..." she giggled to herself for several minutes before she snapped at herself to get a grip and take several deep breaths to regain control.

Slowly, wincing and shaking with cold and uncertainty she pulled herself into a sitting position; absently wiping the blood from her face and arms away using her hands, with little success. Leaning carefully to either side, scrunching her face slightly in pain at the movement, taking in the sight before in as best she could and trying to make as good an evaluation that she could. 'After all' she thought 'either it really is here... or I'm actually in a padded cell by now' She turned her head to the other side again before giving up.

She'd decided that, against all reason; though as she was covered in cuts, bruises and blood after being the focus point of a storm it was slightly futile to apply reason and logic to this situation, that a pair of masterfully, and ornately designed scales (as far as she could tell) were now taking centre stage in the ruin and wreckage that was now her living room.

It was oddly designed for a set she decided, being made from what she guessed seemed to be Ebony and Ivory, with the materials forming an exact mirror of each other to reflect the opposite scales of the set, with the Ebony side inlaid with mother of pearl and obsidian on the ivory side.

"Right... So today has been rather strange, I should most likely be freaking out..." she mulled that over for awhile "So why am I not... Perhaps its because you are more intrigued that afraid. Well that is of course a possibility. Then there is the fact you were controlling that storm earlier." There was a moments pause as her brain played that sentence back again before the penny dropped. "Oh Damn! I was wasn't I?! What the hell?! How?!" she screamed jumping to her feet before crying out in pain as more tears welled up in her eyes.

"OK deep breaths, deep breaths!" she repeated almost hysterically to herself as she hopped from one foot to the other, half biting her lip as every inch of her was in pain.

"I need to think about it logically. I think I'd like a cup of tea. cleaning up and trying to calm down could always help. A cup of tea would help calm me down. Now is not the time for that. You know it would help. Alright alright! I give in, maybe it would help." Sighing to herself in defeat she hobbles over to the kitchen, and after breaking two cups and spilling the sugar due to her hands shaking, one from shock and the other from several cuts and bruises running up the full length as they began turning purple-y black, she finally managed to make a cup of earl grey.

Aqua pursed her lips and nodded, finally pulling into her driveway. She parked her car and helped everyone get out, she stoped when she saw her moms sad face in the window. She looked at the girls and then ran inside, hopefully they understood they were welcome. "Ma! What's going on?" She asked panic written all over her face. "Let's wait for your friends sweetie... and cute dress." Her mother said calmly. Aqua was pretty impatient when it came to things like this, but she held her tongue and waited, as she felt cool water running all over her shoulders, and her legs molding together. She squeeled as she fell on the floor, her legs making the same fishtail she had earlier. Her hair back to water. "How can I get this to stop." She asked a bit frustrated motioning to her fishlike body. Giving a soft laugh her mother said, "You need to clear your mind Aquamarine." Aqua crossed her arms and pouted.

Isis ran after Aqua, looking at the house, but more concerned with the look on Aqua's mother's face. She stopped when suddenly Aqua was a fish again.

Turning around she motioned for the others to hurry up. The sense that something was going on, bigger than she could've ever imagined started to scare her. She felt excited though...almost like she was part of something mysterious. This is like a fantasy. But something told her that this was bigger...dangerous, and that she shouldn't be excited.

She knelt next to Aqua and looked at her tail, "You can turn into a mermaid...that's so cool. But, your mom is right, calm down. I learned that when my arms were on fire." She looked up at her mother, hoping that she was saying that right. Hoping that it sounded comforting at the moment of panic.

“Whoa!” Vade yelped as he missed the third step on the staircase and fell down on the wooden floor. “Vade!” Shouted his grandma as she hurried over to him from the kitchen, “are you okay?” She asks, Vade rolled on his back groaning from the pain of the fall, “Yeah I’m alright” His grandma would sigh “You should really be careful.” Vade would laugh a bit as he looked up at his grandma “It’s my fault I was in a rush.” He sat up rubbing his head waiting for the pain to die down, his grandma would sigh has she took off her reading glasses “Why were you in a hurry this time?” It’s common for Vade to be in such a hurry if he sets a goal for the day he wants to get it done as fast as he could. “I discover a perfect spot to set up my targets in the forest yesterday.” Vade stood up and straighten up his purple sleeved shirt.
His grandma would sigh again “That doesn't mean you have to rush you got the whole day to shoot targets.” Vade would grin softly “I know but—“His sentence got cut off his vision suddenly gets foggy “Strange, must be still tired.” He would rub his eyes a bit “Something the matter Vade?” His grandma asked her tone was different when she was usually worried “Nothing, just my vision has clouded up a bit.” Vade would lower his hands a bit as he blinked but his eyes remain fogged up. Freaky Vade would rub his eyes again “I hope I don’t go blind that would be a problem” He said jokingly.
He can feel that his grandma was worried “Don’t worry” He said trying to comfort her, “I can’t go blind from falling down the stairs.” Vade slowly try to open his eyes but he was welcomed to this burning sensation “What the!?” Is all he can say as the burning feeling would increase his head would spin like his brain was on a roller coaster. Falling back against the steps due to dizziness he would cry out “My eyes hurt!” he can hear rushing footsteps coming his way his grandpa must have heard his cry.
“What’s happening?” shouted the alarmed grandpa “My eye’s feel like they’re on fire!” Vade felt helpless as he continues rubbing his eyes trying to stop the burning “No…” whispered his grandma “He’s only seventeen this can’t be happening right now.”
“What are you talking about do you know a way to stop this pain?” Cried out Vade; he felt a strong hand placed on his shoulder “Open your eyes.” His grandpa said calmly “I can’t—“He tried to reply “Do it.” His grandpa said flatly obeying Vade slowly opens his eyes the pain increase as tears would escape from his eyelids due to the great amount of pain. Vade gasped softly as the pain would slowly go away like water draining from a bathtub. To Vade’s surprise everything was dark, like darkness itself has consume the sunlight making it night, Vade can see two red silhouettes of his grandparents towering over him looking up slightly the one on the left spoke to him softly. “What do you see Vade?” Vade would look around him he can make out that he was in the hallway after he adjusted to the blackness. Turning he would see another silhouette of what appears to be a flock birds. “Grandma, Grandpa? What’s happening? You’re all red and I see a flock of birds” He can hear his grandma crying softly to herself. “Sagittarius has awaken,” she said in between her sobs.
Sagittarius That name echoed like a chorus throughout his mind he felt like he needed to go somewhere but he isn’t sure where. What is happening to me?

Mistelle was in the middle of class when she felt a sudden headache coming on. She ignored it though for she always never let a 'little' pain getting in the way. The important thing was to focus on the teacher's lecture and this one always expected students to pay attention in class. However, about 10 minutes latter, the 16 year-old was starting to feel nauseous. What in the world was her problem? She rarely got sick and always focused on being on top of her gain. She always ignored when a few friends told her worked too hard and it would make her sick one day. She didn't believe them of course and even now still thought it was ludicrous. However, there was no denying that she wasn't 100%. Mistelle was about to feel really sick though when she felt the floor start to shake and kept getting worse. Earthquakes here? That was another inconceivable notion! They weren't even close to any fault lines. It was at this time her knee started to throb and the silver hair teen felt faint.

~Get ahold of yourself Mistelle!~ she mentally ordered herself.

The only problem was her classmates and teacher were in a panic and she could hear screaming. Getting to the floor, Mistelle got on her belly and pushed down her ill feelings. She was just glad she was on the first floor. She crawled out of the classroom and into the hallway. The shaking got worse and at one point she was thrown against the wall. Damn, it was getting worse! However, her determination to get out of the building was great. It was an obstacle to get over people though and using her strength, she managed to crawl over people. Others were trying to do the same thing by crawling.

Finally for what seemed like ages, Mistelle made it out of the building. She was surprised it still held up. Crawling over to a nearby tree, she managed to haul herself up and wrapped her arms around it. However, at this moment, she felt something inside of her burst from within and come out onto the tree. Opening her eyes, Mistelle looked in shock as she saw the tree was now crystallized.

"What the hell?" she stammered before fainting as the shaking stopped.

A figure approached her body and picked her up.

"Looks like Capricorn has awakened." his voice said as he carried her towards her quarters of the boarding school.

Master supports Hoshi with an arm around her shoulder and holding her hand as they walk. "You will be fine, child." Master consoled in a less-than-convincing voice. He seems disturbed about something. The other monks part making a lot of space for the two to exit the circle; their looks no more reassuring than his.
She's never really been the center of attention like this. While the only girl at the temple has always made her standout, the monks, for the most part, have treated her in either one of two ways; either as a sister, or as a petty annoyance that interferes with their lives. Now, they're staring and watching as she walks by them, each of their looks is one of worry and concern for her. They seem as shaken by her words as she was by the image in the water. What makes it seem so surreal is that they seem to believe her.

Master leads her into his quarters and gently sets her in a chair on the other side of his desk. "Would you like something to drink?" Hoshi nods, staring around the room. Finally her eye catches the mirror, or more correctly, the place where the mirror sits covered by a blanket.
Before she can ask, he hands her a glass of water, "Here, drink." he says, leaning against the desk.

Hoshi's hand shakes as she raises the glass to her lips and takes a quick drink, spilling as much water on her as she drinks, "Whu... whu... why." she stammers looking over at the mirror. "Why is the... why is it... why is the mirror covered?" she asks shakily, more afraid of the answer than anything else.

The Master lets out a sigh, "Hoshi. There is something I must tell you. Or rather... show you." he says motioning toward the mirror. Hoshi stands and slowly walks toward the mirror. Master takes the glass from her as she walks by him. She stops at the mirror and then looks back at Master. "Go ahead." he says gesturing for her to remove the blanket.
Hoshi's hand shakes as she removes the blanket from the mirror, stepping back as she does half expecting some monster to leap out at her. But, her reflection is the only thing she sees. "Huh?" she mutters staring at her reflection. "What's this? she says looking over at Master, "Sensei?"

"Hieeeee." a voice comes from the mirror. Hoshi freezes for a second, her face turning even more pale as she turns to greet, and be greeted by her reflection, "Hey. You okay?"
Hoshi lets out a long, shrill ear-bleeding screech. Both the reflection and the Master cover their ears until she is finished. Hoshi pants leaps over by Master, placing him between her and the mirror.
"Wow!" the girl in the reflection says once Hoshi is finished. "Our voices really are painful." the reflection cleaning the sound from her ears.
Master matter-of-factually picks up the blanket and tosses it over the mirror. "I'm sorry, Hoshi Chan. But you needed to see that you aren't going crazy. That what you saw earlier by the river was real."
"Whu...what?!" she replies with an even bigger look of shock. While she doesn't want to be crazy, having a talking reflection is not a consolation prize. "How?! When?! Why?!" she questions quickly.

"Sit down, please, Hoshi. It would be best for you." Master says walking towards her, forcing her to back into the chair landing with a plop.
"Hoshi Chan you are the Gemini..." he starts to explain before being interrupted.
"You mean, I am a Gemini, Sensei." Hoshi corrects. Normally, she would never dream of interrupting Master, but in her disjointed state, she feels compelled to do so.
"No, Hoshi Chan. You are THE Gemini."

Hoshi sits in the chair, shaking her head, staring at the ground. "The Gemini?" she wonders. "How could I be an Astrological Sign?!" If this had been anyone but Master she might assume that it is all a big elaborate joke, but Master lacks that kind of humor.
The Master, on the other hand, stands silent, allowing the girl to absorb that statement. He doesn't really understand what it all entails, all he knows is that he and the Order were entrusted with her care and protection until 'The Event' came -- whatever that was. All he's ever been told was that her nature and abilities would be revealed and that when it happened that would mean something awful was in the offing, that her life and the lives of countless others would depend upon her.

"How?" she asks looking back up at him. "How can I be THE Gemini?"

Aqua shot Isis a look and tried focusing on clearing her mind. She thought about the sea, and how the water was on a calm sunny day. She could feel her hair returning to normal, and her fishtail dissolving. "Wow... that's weird." She whispered when she stood back up. Her mother smiled and looked outside still seeing the girls gather themselves. "Well... i'll go fix some tea." She smiled and turned to go in the kitchen. Aqua stretched and looked outside at the beach. "Such beauty..." She sighed and looked at Isis. "So fire eh? Interesting." Breathing deeply as she drank her tea Ciara noticed the swirl of steam rising from the cup had begun the spiral around her slowly. Frowning slightly she carefully put down her cup and focused on the pattern the wisp-like tendrils were making through the air. ”I wonder…” As she watches, the pattern changes, slowly forming the shape of Libra, then a set of scales and finally a cup of tea; all of which look similar in design to the shapes found when staring up at the clouds.

”Why am I still so strangely calm about this… Maybe it has something to do with it feeling so natural. That’s a good possibility I’ll admit.” Shrugging slightly she leans back against the kitchen bench, sipping her tea for a moment before catching a glance of her reflection in the mirror. A slightly puzzled look creeping across her face for a moment as her forehead wrinkles before she jerks her head to look fully in the mirror.

“What the hell?!” she screamed before turning her head this way and that, her fingers running through her hair as she examined every inch. Her hair, usually a pitch black now had several streaks of bright white highlighting it.

“Ok ok that’s a bit creepy, what’s happening to me? I don’t really want white hair but I suppose it doesn’t look as bad. Other than the fact I’ve got white hair! Well, it looks rather alluring some might say.” She paused for a moment to catch her breath before continuing with a sarcastic tone “Yeah… Sure it does, the hair I always wanted.”

While her dialogue with herself had progressed and her mood heightening the air around her had begun to stir, whipping at the tattered parts of her clothing and causing some of the ruin of the room to collapse. The winds that buffeted her and her possesions seemed to be whispering a word on the edge of hearing, a word she’d often heard on the wind when her imagination played tricks on her. Libra. But not like this, not repeated forever and more inside her skull as the winds picked up around her, almost imploring for her attention as the winds almost took on the appearance of a multitude of faces screaming at her.

”ENOUGH!” She shouted, causing the air around her to still, misting the room for a second as it thickened before dissipating again. More than a little freaked out her breathing had quickened again, causing her to twitch a little and bite her lip before getting control again. Taking a deep calming breath she walked back to the set of scales and sat down with her legs crossed in front of them.

“I may be going mad and for all I know I already have, but I think this could work.”

Sighing to herself rests her arms on her knee with the palms of her hands turned upwards with fingers outstretched.
”I think I’m the one who should be in control here, though I’m not sure how too yet. Of course you are girl, it’s simple, take control. Well obviously that’s the answer, why didn't I think of that? Other than I did of course. Now I know the scales represent balance, but they’re tipped because my head hit them. But which way did I move the balance, to law or to chaos, or did I move it towards something interesting? It’s only a slight move after all, surely that can’t mean much…”

Shaking her head Ciara closes her eyes and flexes her fingers slightly, a pale glow begins tracing along the skin of her hands. The glow around her right hand darkening slightly while the one around her left grows brighter; Jerking suddenly she opens her eyes and stares at her hands, which are now hovering over each of the scales platforms. The slightly lowered side is now filled with a dark orb of cloud while the risen one is filled with a pale storm of light and swirling winds.

“Now I’m scared…” she croaks before coughing to clear her throat.
Carefully she reaches into her jeans pocket and gets out her phone, cycling through her phone-book till she gets to emergency services but just as she’s about to hit dial a call comes in, causing her to answer a call from an unknown person instead of making the call she was attempting too.

“um hello? Who’s This?”

Isis nodded, "Yup, Fire. I didn't expect my hands to suddenly catch on fire like they did though."

She looked at the other girls who were still trying to collect themselves. Isis didn't blame them, whatever was happening, was happening to all of them, and they were all scared. Were there others? What was going on? And why did she respond to a Zodiac name? Leo? That was her Zodiac sign, but that doesn't mean that she is Leo. She isn't a lion...but she sure felt as strong as one.

Looking around she finally took into the bigness of the house. Aqua had a right to be concerned of people freaking out, her house was huge! But at a time like this, it was almost impossible to focus on anything else. Suddenly, the same feeling of being sick over came her. She fell on her hands and knees, trying not to throw up. A feeling of impending danger filled her senses. They were safe, but something was coming, she could feel it.

Closing her eyes, she saw the face of a lion, it was looking at her, fire all around it. Leo has awaken. "Wh...What?" She opened her eyes and looked up, someone was standing behind a tree. She closed her eyes again, feeling the fire come on.

Looking back up, the person was gone, and her arms were on fire. She screamed and looked at Aqua. She had to calm down, she had too. Looking at the fire, she felt stronger. She moved her hand around, and focused the fire to stay in the middle of her hand. The fire slowly started to descend to her palm, and stay ablaze there. She smiled, her fear went away.

Looking up at Aqua she smiled, "I am the Leo."
