Introduction

This is based off of "The Summoning" and "The Awakening" by Kelly Armstrong, I just thought it was a totally amazing book, and wanted to make a role play about it. If you have actually read the books, then you'll understand much better, but I'll try to explain the situation as well as possible.

Basically, here's the idea:

Your character is at Lyle House because they are sort of... Special? They have unexplained powers, people say they're diagnosed with schizophrenia or something.

Lyle House is a house for 'crazy' kids, they're given medication to make them, 'better' and they basically go on with life, 'normally', some of these kids leave and never find out they actually aren't crazy, but what if they find out about their powers and actually work with them? And what if Lyle House isn't as innocent as you think it is?

Also, at Lyle House you get breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the girl's rooms are separated from the boys rooms, and you basically get home schooled with a bunch of other kids.

Lyle House is actually a group of people knowing about these kid's supernatural abilities, and some of the kid's who aren't getting 'better', are shipped off and never seen again. The group finally decides after discussing and discovering they aren't crazy kids, (Yay.) that this has to stop, they run away, but the government is hunting them, they don't want their little Supernatural toys out on the streets, so the kid's are on the run and trying to avoid getting killed, they're out in search of someone who can help them, maybe another one of them?

Tristan studied Eden's face carefully, trying to read her. He could usually tell when someone was just trying to get someone off their back or not, "Okay, uh...we can go to another room or something...if you want to talk about it soon." He said to Eden. "I understand if you don't want to talk about it right now. Or with me, anyway." He shrugged, smiling softly at the girl and running hand through his messy brown hair. He turned his brown eyes back to Dani who continued her rant, but kept it down a bit. He wondered if now the nurses knew what they had said thanks to her what they would do to them if they had found out.

He watched quietly as Eden gave her speech, having no comments really. If it could be proven, why not? He knew calling it 'magic' sounded crazy, but still... He wondered how the Danielle girl would respond to this, if she would agree that this wasn't totally mad or if she would continue to deny it. Tristan wasn't too sure what he should expect now. The result could be anything, he thought.

Danielle narrowed her eyes at Eden. She knew it must be annoying for ehr to deny something they believed in, but she couldn't stand being talked to the way she was. Danielle stood up and took a few steps toward the door and then paused.

"I don't care what you do. Have a nice life." she said and then continued to the door.

As her hand touched the knob, it opened. She jumped back as a nurse came in and looked around. Danielle's face turned bright red. The nurse's eyes moved to Danielle and studied her.

"What's going on? I heard yelling." she said.

Danielle looked at the ground and played with the sleeve of her shirt before looking up at the nurse again with an apologetic look.

"Sorry. I....freaked out," she began with a hand on both sides of her head," My pill. It...fell, and I forgot to ask for a new one. I'm sorry. Can you get me one? I think I'm gonna need it. I'm sorry." she said, trying her best to make it seem like it was just her going crazy.

The nurse seemed to buy into her story and went to grab her another pill. Before following the nurse out, Danielle glanced at the kids left in the room. She and the nurse went into one of their offices and got out another pill for Danielle. She swallowed it and nodded her thanks to the nurse, then headed back into the living room.

Eden sighed as the girl got up to leave. She couldn't believe that someone would be more willing to be crazy than to have powers. Powers were awesome where was being crazy... well.. lets just say having powers seemed to be the better option. She rubbed at her head, a slight headache forming. She decided that if Danielle was going to come back, she didn't want to be there. She took Tristan's hand and pulled him off the couch, out of the room, down the stairs, and into the basement. She had spent some time in there before and liked the quiet. The only time any one else would really be down there was when they would be doing laundry. Once they made it to the room, she realized what she had done and silently dropped his hand. She looked away, her cheeks becoming a deep red. "So um..." now she felt retarded. She pulled someone down here that she wasn't used to by force and now she didn't know what to say. He was probably mad at her, too for bringing him by force. Out of embarassment, she tried to hide in her hair again, but sadly it would only be her face. "I um.. I'm sorry.. I don't know..my body just... kinda moved.. on its own.."

When Danielle came back, only Julian was left in the room. Instead of going back in the room, she turned around and went back to her own room. No one here would ever understand her. She would always be alone. Danielle sighed and threw herself on her bed. The more she thought about everything, the more the tears threatened to pour over her face. She refused to cry. Only wimps cried. She took another deep breath to keep the tears away and allowed herself to continue to think about her situation. It didn't matter what everyone else thought about her. Her mom explained to her that she was crazy. It was something she had been told her whole life before she gave her parents a reason to act on it. She still didn't understand why the others were so set on believing they had powers. All she wanted was to be a normal teen so her parents would stop treating her the way they did. They used to love her before she was crazy. Lyle House gave her hope that she could become normal again and then her parents would love her again. That thought became her whole life. She was tired of being a freak. Maybe the other kids were just in denial of being crazy. Didn't most crazy people say that they weren't crazy? At least she didn't have to go through the struggle of accepting it. Then again, if her parents loved her for who she was, then they would still love her if she was considered crazy. The thought was depressing. Most her thoughts in general were depressing. Maybe that was what was wrong with her. Maybe running away would be better. At least she could get away from all of those who pretended to love her if she did run. The thought of escaping and getting away really appealed to her. She decided that she didn't want this life and got up out of bed to find Julian. She was in.

Tristan glanced up at Eden as she took his hand and began leading him out of the room and into the basement, not really minding that she was dragging him all over the place. Once they stopped and Eden released his hand, he tilted his head and looked about the room and then leaned against the nearest wall, relaxing. He watched Eden as she seemed to become embarassed. He figured it probably had something to do with dragging him down to the basement...that could end up being mildly awkward to explain to someone, he realized as he watched her duck her head. It hadnt really occured to him. He blinked when she began apologizing, "Oh. I really don't mind." He smiled at Eden, his normal happy grin, "It didn't bother me. I understand, sometimes people just do that sorta thing." He told her, shrugging, his grin still present.

When Tristan began speaking, Eden's head shot up. She looked at him with questioning blue eyes. He was smiling at her and she had to admit, it was hard to resist that smile. At first she just blinked at him. "You sure?" She said, but after a moment of thought, she smiled back at him. Then she remembered why she had stormed out and her smile faded. She hopped up on a nearby counter and sighed. "Do you really want to hear what I have to say? I don't want to bore your or make you angry, I just... feel like I have no one to talk to here because everyone else I talk to seems to have something better to do."

"Yeah, I'm sure." Tristan told Eden, stepping forward and away from the wall, adjusting his short-sleeved black t-shirt, waiting for her to tell him about what was going on there. He had to admit, this seemed like a big day...not being crazy, magic, new friends. Some things he had never imagined here. As Eden sighed and began speaking, his smile faded slightly and he nodded, "I want to know." He said to her, going into serious mode, used to being peoples best buddy, he was a guy that was easily liked and had minimal issues. He was always very comfortable in his own skin and had trouble understanding people who low self-esteem and such, but he always gave it his best shot to try and understand make other feel better.

Eden sighed and seemed to shrink where she sat. "No one seems to like each other here. By that I mean that no one seems to really get along. I try to. I've been trying to make friends with the others, but they all act like they have something better to do. You know what I mean? I just.. I have problems with people. Ever since my parents died when I was little, my uncle watched over me. He was like my best friend..until he heard about what happened at school and then he decided that I was too crazy to keep around the house. He thought I was crazy like my mother. He never liked his sister-in-law. I knew that. He liked me, though, because I was his brother's daughter, but all that changed. He never knew that I saw things, that I've been seeing things because he was only around for holidays... I trusted him and he let me down. I've been trying to put it behind me.. to make new friends.. to be able to trust people.. but it doesn't seem to be working." She looked up at him, saddness present in her blue eyes. "I'm only able to tell you because you're the only person who's tried."

Tristan listened to Eden speak, frowning softly. It was true, few people seemed to really get along, it seemed.
When he heard that Eden had been practically disowned by her family, he straightened up a bit, "He just shipped you off here?" He looked slightly angry, already wanting to take care of his new fiend. Without thinking about how he barely knew her, Tristan wrapped his arms around Eden in a hug, "I'm sorry, Eden. If you ever want to talk, you can talk to me, okay?" He said.

He asked her about her uncle and she nodded. "Left me here to rot in this place that cannot help me..and I trusted him." She fought back tears and shook her head, disbelieving. Before she realized it, Tristan had his arms around her in a hug. "I'm sorry, Eden. If you ever want to talk, you can talk to me, okay?" he said to her. That's when the tears began to fall from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. She hugged him back tightly and cried into his chest. No one had ever really said something like that to her before. For the first time in a long time, someone cared. Thank you, she thought, unable to actually think. She couldn't believe that she couldn't even thank him properly. It was unbelievable how useless she had become since her parents died. Her powers weren't even that cool. All she could do was talk to ghosts. What good did that do? She shut her eyes tight and pushed with her mind. If I have the power to do anything, do it! she thought. Little did she know what she was really wishing to happen.

Valentine
Valentine shook his head. "You don't look okay. Tristan and Julian are taking care of the other girls." he paused. "You sure you don't want the coat? It's a bit cold out."

He ran a thin hand through his hair, making it fluffy. After a moment's thought, Valentine reached over and lightly trapped Fae's hand in his.

"C'mon, I have something nifty to show you." he gently pulled her off behind the shed and left her standing on a large sheet of scrap metal.
"I suggest you sit." he released her hand as he sat.
Quick question before I show you: if you could do anything or see any friends or family right now, where would you'd like to go? Who would you like to see?"

He waited patiently for her answer, fingers tapping out a silent beat on his crossed legs.

Julian
Julian stood dumbfounded as everything happened around him. A flash of pain seared the inside of his skull in the midst of it, causing him to flinch. By the time he recovered, everyone had left and the magazine he had been levitating had long since fallen to the floor. As he shook his head and stepped toward the couch, another flash sent him tripping and falling ever so ungracefully into the end table. As he hit the table he gasped and automatically rolled so that his face was protected. As he settled on the floor, Julian tenderly reached to feel the wound and found it was a long gash that started on his belly and ended on his back.
Wincing as he pushed himself up, another flash of pain attacked him and he stumbled to the couch, which he gratefully sat on.

Must've overworked my powers a bit. he thought with a grimace, rubbing his head with a hand. The pills are sapping my energy.

He silently hoped no one would come in then to see him sitting on the couch, blood beginning to soak through his shirt, leaving a very noticeable shiny mark on his black t-shirt.

"I'm fine." Fae told Valentine with a shake of her head, though she rubbed her arm. She still felt strange...kind of feverish. She wished she could understand what was happening to her. Glancing up at Valentine as he ran his fingers through his hair, making it all fluffy-like, she decided it looked soft and touchable, but she would never admit that to him. He was just so...Valentine-y.

"Huh?" Fae asked as Valentine drug her off to the shed and a large piece of scrap metal, making her blink. Well, that didn't seem very safe, she thought to herself. "Nifty?" She blinked and then shook her head, but did as he said, "What does that matter?" She asked him in confusion but then sighed, thinking about it. Her parents never wanted to see her again, but there was Amy, who had been her best friend, but...would Amy even want to see her again, "Well, there's Amy, my best friend, but I don't know if she would want to see me? Why?" She asked.

Tristan kept his tanned, muscular arms around Eden, not too worried about her response, but when she started crying, he feared he had made it worse, "Eden? Did I say something wrong? I didn't mean to..." He told her, worry evident in his voice, feeling her tears seep into his t-shirt, frowning softly. He just want to make sure things were okay...he wanted everything to be alright for everyone, but in this odd little house, that seemed to be mission impossible.

Eden Parker

Eden's crying had died down until the only sound was her sniffling, but the tears still came. When he asked if he had done something wrong, her face shot up in order for her to look at him. A look of complete horror was on her face. That was the last thing she had wanted. She blushed and looked away a moment as she realized that her face was only mere inches from his. She reached up and whiped her eyes."I-er-...," she said, glancing at the door behind him. She could've sword she heard something move behind it, but as she listened she heard nothing. Maybe I am crazy..., she thought. Getting back to what was actually happening instead of things that were going on in her head, she said to him, "No! Actually, what you said made me happy. It's been a while since someone cared about what I wanted and what I had to say. It made me happy. I was going to say thank you, but.. my tears kinda choken them off. I've just been so useless lately. I mean, you and Julian have such cool powers. What can I do? Talk to the dead? I'm starting to wonder if that's even what I'm doing, but I just don't have any proof." As if on command, something behind the door thumpped causing Eden to jump in Tristan's arms, forgetting they were still around her. Though, they were awefully warm.

Danielle walked back into the room where she left Julian. Her eyes grew wide as soon as they found him. She rushed over to him and lifted his shirt to see where the blood was coming from.

"Julian, what happened?" she asked as she examined the wound.

As she waited for a response, she pulled his shirt off and used it to put pressure on the wound so the bleeding would slow down enough for her to help it heal. She took a deep breath and looked at Julian's face to see how he was reacting to the situation. It was obvious that he was in pain, but was he panicked? She sat on the couch next to him in case he needed the support and kept the shirt over the wound until she got an answer from him. Only once did it occur to her to call the nurse in, but she decided against it since she didn't want them keeping a clsoer eye on him. It would be harder for him to escape with the nurses always watching.

"Oh." Tristan smiled, or more like grinned, and seemed to take little notice of the fact their faces had been so close together, "Well, I'm glad I made you happy, Eden." He told her truthfully, his cheer returning. He was always such a happy go lucky boy. "And you're not useless Eden. You might be able to help us figure out why we're the way we are if you can speak to the dead. Have you done any research of Necromancers? They say they can raise the dead even! I mean...that's kinda cool, right?" He asked with a small laugh.

Valentine
Valentine smiled at Fae. "Just trust me. I advise you hang on tight, mon cheri. Might be a bumpy ride. Ah, by the way, where would you say dear Amy lives?"

As soon as he had his answer, Valentine shut his eyes, muscles tensing throughout his body as he concentrated. Sure enough though, the sheet metal lifted off the ground.

"Welcome to the magic carpet, may all your dreams come true." he imitated the voice of Genie from Aladdin. "Please keep all hands, arms, feet, legs, and heads inside the carpet. Thank you."

The moment he was done speaking, the sheet metal flew (yes, flew) off the property. Quickly gaining elevation, Valentine grinned.

"Hang on, mon cheri. It's a bit of a trip down, if you know what I mean."

As they reached higher speeds, Valentine concentrated on creating a sort of telekinetic safety bar surrounding the sheet of metal. His arms were trembling slightly from the effort, but he kept going. He'd obviously done this once or twice before, as displayed by the way he nimbly steered them around obstacles, even with his eyes closed. Before much time had passed, they were dropping in altitude and stealthily landing in a field.

"This way, little cheri." Valentine opened his eyes and tugged Fae to her feet, standing as he did so. He led her out of the field and into a neighborhood. "I believe that is the home of your Amy?"

Julian
Julian looked up, startled, as Danielle came back into the room and began fussing over him.

He shrugged in response to her question. "I.. had a small skirmish with the side table. Evidently it won."

When she practically tore his shirt off, he scooted away from her, startled. " I, uh. You know, when I imagined a girl tearing my shirt off I thought it'd be in a completely different way." he winced as he laughed.
"I appreciate your discretion, Frauline. The nurses would have made me much worse off than I am. This is but a flesh wound, Frauline. Do not worry. I have had much worse than this in my time." he stood up, despite any protests that Danielle might have made.
"I will be right back. I must get a new shirt before a nurse comes in here. I'm not sure how many more rules I can be caught breaking before they send me away. Come to my room if you'd like to talk. Tell the nurses you're helping my study. My grades are ill enough for them to believe that." he fled the room and stealthily headed back to his own, thankful that none of the nurses were about.

Quickly bandaging his side with a strip of fabric from his already tattered sheets, Julian pulled on a fresh shirt and reclined on his bed, relaxing on the comforter that was only half on the bed.

Eden made a face and watched the door behind Tristan. "Actually... no. I haven't. I kinda... just figured it out to be completely honest."She waited for another sign of movement before she decided it was all in her head. Just in case though, she asked him, "Did you hear something?" She looked up and realized how close their faces were together. They were mere inches apart. She cleared her dry throat and stepped back. "Well.. that is, coming from that room over there." she poined at the door behind him just as another thump came from the otherside. Currious and annoyed she stepped to it. Hello? Who's in there? You have no right to be here."[/b] she said, sounding like an idiot. She grabbed a spare pipe that was leaning against the wall and raised it over her head. She reached out and touched the knob just as a scratching sound began just on the other side of the wood. The hairs on the back of her stood on end, but she proceeded to turn the knob. The door was locked. She began to wonder where the door even led. She turned to Tristan and said, "It's locked."

Fae almost had a heart-attack when the sheet of metal started moving, secretly being afraid of heights, this was freaking her out a bit for the whole 'Magic-Carpet ride', "I assume that's your power then?" She asked once they were safely on solid ground and she could once again breathe. She guessed it was pretty cool, being able to fly like that and all, but her fear of heights kinda kept her from seeing that during the actual flight.

She looked around and noted they were in her old neighborhood, by Amy's house, she blinked, "y - You actually took me here?" She blinked her hazel eyes in surprise.

Tristan took a step back, noticing how close they were and then looked when she said she heard a noise. He tilted his head, listening and hearing it as well. His eyes widened a bit, stepping over to a shelf and grabbing some keys off of it and tossing it over to Eden, "Try those," He said, "Er, well, if you're brave enough too." He wasn't too sure letting whatever was in there out was a good idea, he tried to keep his tone light and playful, but doubt filled him.

Eden caught the keys with no problem. She tried one key after another until one went it without resistance. She stood there, staring at the door, her hand holding the key. Did she really want to open it? To let whatever was behind it out? Well if it was a criminal, he needed to be taken into police custody. If it was an animal, it needed to be set free. Then again, what was on the other side of the door? Was it a door that led outside? That couldn't be possible could it? It was the basement they were in afterall. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she turned the key. The locked clicked open. She turned the knob slowly and opened the door. At first the room was dark, you couldn't see much of anything. Once she opened it a bit wider, she saw a whole bunch of dirt. Like it was some kind of dark garden though nothing was growing. She looked around and tried to find the sourse. She didn't see anything and turned to leave when she felt a snag on her pants. She looked down to see a man, crawling on the ground slowly. There were patches of skin missing showing bone, but there was no blood. The hand that reached out was... pure... bone? She let out a scream which was silenced by her hand over her mouth. The man looked up at her. Empty sockets sat where his eyes should've been. He had no nose. He was an undead corpse.

Tristan watched as Eden tried the keys, the bad feeling he had about this not going away at all. He figured it could just be a rat or something, but it still worried him. He heard the door click open and held his breath. He couldn't tell if there was anything in there at all for a moment and then saw all the dirt. He frowned, wondering what the hell all that dirt was doing down here, he stepped closer to Eden and then he looked down and jumped back when he saw the body, "Holy fucking shit..." His brown eyes went huge and he grabbed Eden and pulled her back behind him, "So, Necromancer, any plans?" He asked, trying to keep the horror out of his voice as he stared at the body, trying to keep calm.

Eden was frozen where she stood. She was too scared to move. Somewhere in the back of her mind she heard thought she heard a voice asking if she had a plan. The voice sounded familiar, but it kinda reminded her more of the adults in peanuts. Most of what she heard was "wah wah, wah wah wah?" She forced herself to shake her head, hopefully clearing some of the fog that slowly began to decend upon her mind. She tried to find the words to answer but all she could do was stare at the thing. The empty sockets where eyes once sat. The patch of bone showing where the nose should've been. The boney hand reaching her. It took a few moments before she realized it was crawling up her, hanging on with muscles it no longer had. It had made its way up to her knees and soon her theighs. She could smell death and decay on him. A stench so bad her stomach churnned, nausiatingly. Her head swam, searching for things she remembered from stories that could help her, but due to the distracting circumstances, she came up short. All she could do is stare.

Danielle bit her lip to keep from lauhing at his joke. She never imagined herself ripping a guy's shirt off for any reason. When he got up and left, she only nodded and headed out of the room to go ask the nurses if it was okay for her to help him with his studies. Luckily, the nurse granted her pemission and so she headed off to his room. Once she entered, she noticed that he had put on a new shirt.

"Sorry about the shirt." she said shyly.

Tristan was starting to freak out even more, "Eden, you have to do something..." He told her, urgently, his brown eyes huge as the thing started climbing all over her. She looked like she was in a daze, "Send it back, tell it to stop. Something." He said, having a terrible gut feeling about this. "You can't just leave it, what if someone else comes down here?" Tristan began wondering if she was hearing him at all as he put an arm around her and pulled her back a step from the creature, not sure if it would turn on him then. He didn't know that much about Necromancers or the dead.
