Nothing has the ability to rise to greatness unless it also has the ability to fall.

The history of the world has many examples of such greatness being torn down and lost forever, but one not so greatly unknown as the fall of demon society. Of course, one can’t really call them fallen so much as… hidden. Thousands of years ago, demons walked the earth, protecting humans from supernatural forces that threatened their way of life (vampires, fae, you name it.) Humans saw demons more as divine than the hell spawn many make them out to be now. They don’t have horns, flesh fallen skin, or grotesquely misshapen forms. They appear in every sense of the word human. They just have a little extra something, that’s all. They are capable of things no human could ever do; they have greater strength, speed, and a prolonged life. Each Demon also happens to posses a power.

The humans started to fear the demons, afraid they would wipe out those they deemed unworthy instead of protecting them as they always have. The demons decided it was no longer safe to stay out in the open. They made sure they disappeared from human’s minds. All history of them is gone without a trace. It was better to protect them from the shadows. Demons formed their own cities and towns, never to be seen by human’s eyes, curtesy of the demons who have such cloaking powers. A council rules over the demons. Each continent a demon city lies on has their own representative, making the council total six. Those six collectively rule together. It wasn’t always that way, however. Not after the council stopped allowing The Nocte ac Die Prophecy to continue it’s cycle.

The Nocte ac Die Prophecy stated that every 150 years, a set of half human, half demon twins would be born into the world— one twin born during the light of the moon, the other during the light of the sun. It's said that the twins have every capability a demon has, yet are stronger. They would be faster. The powers they posses would be on a much more powerful and possibly deadlier scale than those that regular demons possess. Their increased powers are brought upon by their souls intertwining with other demons. This allows their excess energy to travel through others so it does not overwhelm them. These are their bond mates, born on the exact day the twins are brought into the world. These bond mates also possess much more powerful skills. Each twin has between two to three bond mates. Anything higher has never been seen. There is nothing other than their shared birth date that signifies their bond to one another, but fate has never kept them apart from their bond mates for long. They always find one another. After all, they can’t access their greater powers until they do. The sun and moon twins cannot gain access to their demon powers until they have contact with each of their bond mates. Their bond mates cannot access theirs until they have contact with their respective twin. These bond mates are born to protect their twin.

These twins are born to be the head of the council. They are born to rule.

600 years ago, the council decided they’d had enough. They were power-hungry and decided it a wise decision to go against fate. They slaughtered the twins and their bond mates, proclaiming to the demon society that the Sun and Moon twins had gone power crazy, planning on destroying them all, starting with the council. People had no other choice than to believe them. Since then, every 150 years the council seeks out these half-demon children to kill them on the spot, leaving their bond mates to lead a life powerless and unfulfilled. Demons believe it’s for the best. Well, most of them do. Some have passed down the truth of the power-hungry council. Some still believe in the power of the prophecy.

It’s been seventeen years since the last cycle of The Prophecy has occurred. The council promptly stated as they have every 150 years that the twins had been killed. That their society was safe. What no one knows is they lied about it. When the time came for them to find the half-demon twins, it was like any record of their birth had vanished. They’ve spent years trying to find them, but it seemed they’d disappeared into the deep abyss of the human world, slipping through the cracks.

Maybe now fate has a chance.

Our story starts in the small town of Newport, Oregon, where the Sun and Moon twins have been living out their days. Their mother was a human, pregnant and alone, and died during childbirth. The two twins were since separated as babies into the foster system, never once knowing of each others existence. The Sun Twin has lived in Newport nearly all his life. The Moon twin, however, only moved there three years ago into a new foster home. They soon became friends, all the while not knowing just how close they truly are.

In the three years the Moon twin has lived in the tiny town, her and The Sun twin developed a friendship with a rather peculiar boy. The moment she had shaken his hand, he had an outburst of some strange power. The two twins have kept his secret, and they've never been separated since. Turns out this boy was one of her bond mates, unbeknownst to either of them. This friend has no idea he was a demon himself. When his parents gave birth to him, they realized after his powers never manifested that he was one of the bond mates of prophecy and fled the demon world in hopes of giving him a normal life.

Flash forward to present day, when suddenly the twins friend has an outburst of his powers he could not control. It was on a noticeable scale, and happened to capture the attention of the demon community. They figure he's simply a lost demon in the human world. Sometimes it happens. So, the demon council sent out three students from the capital's school in order to find the lost demon and bring him to the community where they could train him at the school all demons go to until they are 20 years old. This school is where they hone their powers and skills in order to fight other supernaturals to protect the humans.

These three students are being specially trained, hence the early job even though they are not yet graduated. These three have no powers. They are pushed further and harder, focusing mainly on their increased speed, strength, agility, etc. They are the bond mates. The council figured their more suited to such work. They blend more easily into the human world.

Soon enough, fate works it's magic and brings all the pairs together, all powers manifesting in an unpredictable way. Unfortunately, the three students cannot return empty handed. In hope of helping the twins figure out their powers and who they truly are, they have no choice but to bring them to the capital where they are enrolled in the school. It is both the safest and most dangerous place for them to be. Can the twins and their bonded keep safe, or will history repeat itself in another bloody mess?

● Please make your characters seventeen. There birthday has to be on the same day, so let's make it February 2nd.
● Please use real face claims. Just tell me in the OOC who they are and I'll add it to the front page.
● Once you figure out what ability you want to use, please state so in the OOC so we get no double ups. I will also need to approve it. It's supposed to be pretty powerful, but make sure it's not going to let you get too God like, if you get me.
● If you need a character skeleton, just ask and I'll send you one; I'm not picky with them. Just be sure to include basic character info, personality, history, etc.
● Reservations will last 48 hours, please send in at least a WIP during that time.
● Please, no god modding, Mary Sues etc.
● Just to make sure ya'll read this, the reservation password is your favourite character, wether it be someone from a movie, tv show, book, or even one of your own!
● No killing anyone's characters or harming them, at least not without their consent.
● Romance is great! Just don't go into some of the "details" that may occur.
● Try and include everyone! If you're stuck for ideas, message me and I can help out.
● Post should be 3 paragraphs and above 500 words. I want you active! Please try to get a post in maybe once/twice per week.
● This isn't necessarily first come first serve. I may just ask you to send me a sample post just to see your skill~
● Feel free to send me a message with any questions or concerns you may have. ^^ Once all the character's are reserved, I'll post a lot more information about possible direction to take this rolelay in, how we are going to start, more info on the academy, etc.
● Just a quick note, this is a remake of a very old roleplay I made on my previous account. I reworked it quite a bit.
● If you want a role and all the spots are taken, please message me! If you pitch me a character I think will add to the roleplay, I may create a spot for you. I just didn't want too many roleplayers because it gets hard for some people to catch up with so many posts so they just disappear, which then causes the roleplay to go wonky and stop.
● Also, don't feel the need to stick to the little stories and character titles I gave to each character! It's just a jumping off point. If you have a better idea of something, just let me know. ^^
● It's also okay if you want a second character. I just ask you make it the opposite gender (unless, of course, your first character character is agender, gender fluid, etc). They can just be little side characters that you create entirely on your own, if you want.

ALICE GREYSON
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Where do you think you’re going?” Questioned Alice’s foster mom, Anna Moreno. Shit

Alice had just about opened the door to leave when in a surprise twist of events, it swung open from the outside to reveal Anna coming into the house. She was earlier than expected. The petite lady, an inch shorter than Alice’s already short 5’2, planted her hands on her hips and gave her a ‘you’ve been caught look’ from behind her glasses.

Backing back up into the foyer of their tiny bungalow home, Alice opened her mouth to speak, but all that came out was a long winded “Uh,” Yeah, she’d definitely been caught. The jig was up.

Anna walked into the house and deposited her coat on the rack, still giving her that eyeing look. “I was going to a party with Matt and Jasper,” Alice shrugged, relenting. She never could lie. She’d left Anna a note on the kitchen counter with the details of the party, but had planned on slipping out before Anna came home from her night out with friends. Seemed they’d cut it an hour short. Wonder why...

Did Tiffany start drama again? You’d think after last months book club fiasco she would lay off, but no-“ Anna was quick to cut her off early in her tangent, stating in her no nonsense tone, “You’re not going to a party.” Alice sighed, turning around dramatically before walking into the kitchen. Grabbing the note off the counter, she held it up as if it were a piece of evidence. “I left a note with the directions and everything. I’ll be home before 1:00 and look, I even put the guy’s number’s down for you in case,” she listed off, hoping to help her case.

Anna still had her hands on her hips. She was trying to look strict, but it was hard with her dark curly locks going in every directions and her too big glasses slipping down her nose. “I already have Jasper and Matthews number from the last time, Alice,” she huffed as she stepped closer, taking the note from her hand and gazing over it. Looking back up after a minute, she gave her a doubtful look. “The party is outside? Then you’re definitely not going.” Looks like Anna wasn’t going to give up. Well, neither was AlIce.

You know I know those woods like the back of my hand. It’s a low wildlife area, we aren’t going deep in, and I’ll be with Matt and Jasper. I’ll make sure I’m with at least one of them at all times,” she pleaded, trying her best at giving puppy dog eyes. “Hey, I’ll even text you every hour with updates, and if I’m not home by 1:00 you can call the cops or something,” she suggested.

Anna stood there staring at her for three minutes, the gears clearly turning in her head as she was deep in thought. Finally, she gave her counter offer. “You’ll call me every hour and let me speak to one of the boys to make sure they’re with you. You’ll also be home by 12:30. Deal?” Alice broke out in a wide grin, wrapping her foster mom in a hug. “Deal, you lovely creature!” Anna chuckled as she swatted her away playfully, commenting, “just change your shirt before you leave, there’s paint on it.” Alice looked down at the white t-shirt, for once noticing the baby blue splotch of paint on the shoulder. Oops.

Racing off towards her tiny room, she quickly changed out of her shirt to one that she had previously thrown on her desk chair. It was just a simple pink off the shoulder top. Bouncing out her door, she was ready to completely race out of the house until she took a moment to stop and look in the hall mirror. She’d almost forgotten. Turning around to gaze as her back, the shirt reveled the jagged top of the scar that ran along her shoulder. Taking a second to look at the ugly thing, she took in a sharp breath before ripping out the elastic that previously held her hair up in a pony tail. The long brunette waves trailed down her back, covering the scar.

It’s not as if she was trying to hide it because she hated it. She did hate it, but that wasn’t the point. People have seen it before, but it’s still not fun getting asked all the time about what happened. People tend to look at you funny when you explain someone came after you with a broken beer bottle. It’s surprising how many people reply back asking what you did in order for that to happen, as if Alice had to have provoked someone for something like that to happen. But nope. It was just a crazy ‘ol foster dad.

Skipping down the rest of the hallway, she slipped behind Anna’s chair where she’d contently settled herself into for the night with a book. Bending down, she kissed her on the cheek, saying a quick, “Bye!” before turning back to make her way out the door. She got all of three steps before Anna cleared her throat. Turning around slowly, Alice expected the worst. “Forgetting something?” Anna remarked, holding up Alice’s old flip phone in her hand while still looking down at her book. Alice let out a long whistle. “Oops, my bad,” she remarked, taking it from Anna. Alice never was attached to her phone. She barley looked at the thing. Technology just wasn’t for her.

Anna gave a low tsk’ing noise as Alice walked away. She had just about opened the door when she’d called out again. “Don’t forget your jacket!” Alice quirked a small smile before grabbing her black trench coat on the hook, putting it on as she finally slipped outside.

Whistling as she made her way over to her old car, she looked down at her phone and noticed she was running behind schedule. She was supposed to be at Jasper and Matt’s place, conveniently right beside one another, at 9 pm. It was about five minutes past. It didn’t take her too long to get there, New Port was pretty small. It was a seven-minute drive on a good day. Better hurry up.

After listening to two songs on the radio and one poorly advertised sandwich ad, Alice pulled up outside the familiar houses of her two friends. Jasper had mentioned earlier that Matt would be waiting in his house with him, so she pulled up into his driveway. Leaning over to open her passenger side door, she debated honking the horn but realized that there were probably young kids asleep. She settled on sending Jasper a text:

At the moment it was the worst week of Jasper's life. It started on Monday. After school in the parking lot. Jasper had walked out of the building to see some guy messing with Alice. One thing Jasper knew was that Alice could handle her own battles. The reason Jasper intervened was because Alice had turned around. The guy went to hit her when she had done this. Before the guy touch Alice, he was smacked into a park car by Jasper’s power. Jasper was just going to fling the guy’s hand back, but he lost control. Being angry didn’t help him control his power any better. The guy didn’t get hurt really and the car was left undamaged. He avoided his parents that night, did his homework, and just went to bed.

Jasper thought everything would be fine on Tuesday. He was wrong. At school everyone talking about what happened to the guy. Someone had even recorded the incident by mistake. The video ended up on YouTube and went viral. It was a weird event. Though, as humans do, they tried to rationalize what happened. On Wednesday, things got worst, but only because Jasper told his mother what happened. His mom knew something was wrong with Jasper. She dragged it out of him. He found out later on his mom was so persistent in knowing why only because she saw the video. His father saw it too, but only his mother was there when Jasper confessed. He even mentioned how something weird happened when he first touched Alice.

His mother told him everything was okay, fed him, and let him go off to bed. Jasper was woken up Thursday morning by his parents. They said they needed to talk to him. Jasper thought they were going to tell him he must of imagined what happened on Monday. They didn’t tell him that. They told him they were demons. Jasper ended up not going to school that day. He was too busy talking to his parents. Jasper pretty much refused to listen to what they were saying. He was even more adamant about not believing them when he was told of The Nocte ac Die Prophecy.

Jasper skipped school on Friday too. He texted Alice and Matt that he had gotten food poisoning Wednesday night. He made sure to tell them he still felt unwell on Thursday and Friday. It was hard for him to process everything his parents had told him. He didn’t want to believe he was a full-blooded demon. He didn’t want to believe the prophecy. Everything his parents told him seemed too crazy to be true. If what they said was true, it just meant Alice was in danger. If the demon world found out she were one of the twins, a death sentence would be put on her. Jasper did wonder deep down which twin Alice was, but he decided he didn’t need to know. His parent's were likely just messing with him. He hoped for that anyways.

On Friday night Matthew had come over for a previously planned sleepover. Jasper acted normally and didn’t tell Matt anything his parents said. He wanted to, but he knew he would just sound crazy. Jasper had a fun night with Matthew. The next day they just played video games. Well, they did pause playing video games to get ready for a bush party. They played video games until 9:00 PM, the time Alice should have been at Jasper’s house. By the time they turned the game off and put it away, Alice still wasn’t there. Jasper didn’t mind she was late. He just excused himself to put fresh food and water out for the stray cats. A few even came out when they heard the food container.

As Jasper walked back inside his house, he felt his phone vibrate. He knew it was Alice. The only people who contacted him were pretty must just his parents, Alice, and Matt. “Matt, time to go. Alice is here,” he said as he opened his front door. He let Matt walk out and shut the door behind him. Jasper slid into the backseat of the car and waved to Alice. The drive to the woods wasn’t too bad. Jasper just enjoyed the scenery as Alice drove. Once the car was parked, Jasper quickly got out to stretch his legs.

His curious eyes took in his surroundings. It seemed like others were just getting to the woods too. Jasper took in a slow deep breath. He had to calm himself down a bit. He knew no one knew he smacked that guy into the car with his powers. Hopefully people had stopped talking about it by now. Though, even if some people talked about it, Jasper reminded himself he would be fine. Jasper would just have fun with his friends and enjoy the night. It wasn’t like a group of people were hunting him down because of what he did.

Eloise Huxley
Hex: #7c8db2

With a near full bottle of beer in her hand Eloise stared into the bonfire. The heat from the flames wafted against her face, creating an equally uncomfortable and cozy sensation. Lolly's wild orange hair was effortlessly strewn about her shoulders, making her look much cooler than she even thought herself to be. Before the party Eloise and her motley crew had already been at the bottle. Lolly wasn't one for big disruptive displays of drunkenness, so her previously consumed alcohol and this single beer would do for the rest of the night.

She was dressed in casual clothes; high waisted jeans with tattered bottoms, a pair of old black boots, her signature colorful socks, and a plain grey shirt with an oversized blue and black flannel. It was clear that Eloise put as little effort as possible into her outfit. Going to this party wasn't her idea, nor did she think it was a good idea. Eloise didn't like to be petty, but it was still abundantly clear that she wasn't enjoying herself yet.

Eloise understood parties and the appeal, but she didn't like the idea of one during such an important mission. She, Teddy, and Mel were some of the youngest demons to be assigned to such a task, and anything that could deter them from achieving that goal put Eloise on edge. Yes, there was the slight possibility that they would find their lost demon here tonight, but Lolly's distaste for strangers clouded her better judgement. She was a true, and grouchy, workaholic.

Getting Eloise to relax usually involved aggressive convincing from Teddy, a mischievous smile from Mel, and a lot of alcohol.

During a moment of solitude amongst the bobbing heads and babbling mouths, Lolly kept a watchful eye on her friends. Her dark brown eyes watched what looked like a typical Teddy offense. What was once a light and flirtatious look on the girl's face in front of him had suddenly turned sour. Helplessly, Lolly let out a small chuckle at the incident. Teddy was a good friend to Lolly, but his uncouth mouth deserved a couple of sassy girls leaving him once in a while.

Eloise let her guard down just long enough to let a stranger fill in the space next to her on the log she was inhabiting. He was generically handsome to a point of familiarity. Well cut brown hair, broad facial features, and devilish blue eyes. "Oh, jeez," she muttered after nearly bonking her head into his. Uncomfortable, she scooted away from the boy. Unabashedly drunk, he leaned closer, not picking up on any of her signals. With putrid alcohol on his tongue he said "Is it hot in here or is it just you?" Eloise made a noise of sarcastic delight before speaking again, "Ah, I'm sorry, was that supposed to be clever?" Her brown eyes glared back at him, giving him every reason to leave.

"Woah, cowgirl, I'm just trying to pay you a compliment," he slurred on, maintaining his obnoxious position. Eloise rolled her eyes at this. She was not flattered. "Look, cowboy, I'm just trying to enjoy myself tonight... Alone." If this boy wasn't going to give up then she would pull the my-(fake)-boyfriend-Teddy card, one that she avoided at all costs. Teddy had enough things to dangle over her head as it was. "But goddamn you're too sexy to be left alone, he said, pursuing her further. A ball of embarrassment lumped in Eloise's throat, no one had ever called her sexy before. She unwillingly blushed at the comment. Next, the boy let a mistaken hand boldly rub her upper thigh. As if a light had gone off, Lolly shot up from her seat, "Nope," she said to herself. "Lovely chat, insert-generic-frat-boy-name, but I need to leave." Whilst saying this Eloise turned her beer bottle upside down on the boys lap and head.

When the bottle was nearly finished Lolly dropped on the ground and marched away."What the fuck is your problem!" he yelled at Lolly's backside. Thankfully he was too drunk to pursue a fight, but he still made a scene. All Eloise could do was raise her right hand and flip him off before approaching Teddy.

"You know I hate parties," she whispered with dread in her eyes. Eloise was suddenly regretting treating insert-generic-frat-boy-name so harshly.

XXXThe orange and yellow flames glowed against the partygoers as they
XllXdanced. The beer in Teddy's body made him relax as he moved with the
XllXthrongs of people in the dance section. He has always been the one to
XllXenjoy missions that involved partying or being a normal person. The red
XllXsolo cup in his hand was running empty and he needed the precious
XllXliquid if he wanted to get through tonight. Yes, he can be reckless, but
XllXthe mission would be accomplished. Teddy's pride wouldn't let him fail.

XllXHe was dressed in his standard 'normal boy trying to blend in, but still
XllXlooking hot' outfit. His nicer clothing would draw attention and tonight
XllXwas a time to be unnoticed. His outfit consisted of a pair of black skinny
XllXjeans, a plaid button up, and a pair of men's Sperry's on his feet. His
XllXsignature shoes had to appear, no matter the assignment. Any one
XllXlooking at him would think he's the precious boy next door. Oh, how
XllXwrong they would be.

XllXSocial events have always been a source of joy for Teddy. He loves to
XllXmeet new people and start conversations. A party like this is where he
XllXexcels during missions. His partners, Melanie and Eloise, are the brains
XllXof their team. Eloise is the workaholic of the group, constantly thinking of
XllXachieving their goal instead of enjoying the benefits. Melanie does her
XllX'Sherlock Holmes' bit, deductions as she calls it. The two can handle
XllXbrain work while Teddy could do the social requirements, flawlessly. A
XllXparty doesn't truly begin until Teddy shows up.

Currently, a cute blonde was keeping his attention. The two danced casually sharing drinks from Teddy's cup. The music was enough of a filler so words went unspoken between them. However, her eyes spoke volumes. She was interested in him, but trying to be coy. Precious, but unnecessary. Teddy thought as his eyes ogled her body. She was dressed in crop top and tight skinny jeans, showing off her figure. Teddy smiled mischievously; it was almost too easy. "Hey, my name is Sophia."

"Most people call me, Teddy. You can call me any time though." The girl giggled, fiddling with her almost white, blonde hair. Playing the role of sweet guy included dorky pick up lines, but they have their own magic. Over the music, he could hear complimenting his name. "If you like my name, you'll love my phone number." Why people were impressed by such cheesy lines never made sense to Teddy. "Care to get away from a bit?"

She pulled away from suddenly. "Look you're cute and all, but I'm not planning on being anyone's one night stand." So she acts like she's interested and pulls away, typical. The coy act was cute at first, but now it pissed him off. "Well if I play my cards right, you definitely won't be standing." Teddy said with a chuckle. His words brought a look of scorn upon her face. His humor doesn't resonate with everyone. The girl quick turned, her hair hitting him in the face, and stormed away. Teddy called out after her, "We're still meeting for sex, right?" He could see her ears turn red and people turning to look at her. Well, that's enough pay back for now.

At this moment, he was so glad she turned him down. Watching Eloise pour beer and flipping off some drunk party boy was hilarious. Luckily, the guy didn't think it was worth causing even more of a scene. If he came over here, Teddy wouldn't hesitate to knock him on his ass. No one messes with his people. Teddy took a sip of his diminishing beer, waiting for Eloise to reach him.

"You know I hate parties." She whispered to him, glancing back at the frat boy. "Hey, you may hate 'em, but you sure know how to make 'em interesting, Freckles." He bumped shoulders with her, grinning obnoxiously. "Where's Holmes at? All these human girls leave a bad taste in my mouth and I don't mean figuratively." His winked at her after taking a long gulp of beer. Good stuff, but where is the lost demon?Little demon, come out, come out wherever you are.

Melanie took another sip from her near-empty bottle of beer. She definitely wasn't an alcoholic, but she wasn't a lightweight either. Mel preferred to live on the edge.

Mel, like her friends, Teddy and Eloise, was dressed in casual attire. She wore semi-faded dark gray jeans and a white blouse. Her hair was up in the usual ponytail. Melanie wasn't particularly meticulous today when it came to her hair, but it would do. Mel didn't exactly intend to look like she didn't put much effort into her clothes, but she really didn't. Teddy may have different opinions, but the entire point of coming to this bonfire was to find the lost demon. Not to flirt.

Of course, Teddy, ever the opportunist, was definitely taking advantage of the situation. The one time she caught sight of him was when he was smacked in the face with a girl's ponytail. Mel didn't really care much on what Teddy chose to do while the trio were biding their time, waiting for the lost demon to appear. Just as long as he didn't compromise the group - or himself - he could jump off a twenty-story building, for all she cared. Hold on, that was compromising his safety. Never mind.

Melanie never really liked parties. To her, because they were getting so common, so repetitive, they had lost the appeal they once had. Mel thought that being forced to go to a party during the most important demon mission of the millennia (okay, the most important mission in six centuries, but still) would make everything all the more exciting, but sadly, that wasn't the case.

At least, it wouldn't be until the lost demon showed up.

But the demon certainly hadn't, and the party was getting duller by the second. Sure, Lolly poured her beer on a frat boy and Teddy got rejected, but those events happened in every party all the time. Even the incident with Eloise and the frat boy failed to surprise Mel. It wasn't everyday Lolly got tangled up with a drunken frat boy.

Melanie was already starting to regret that thought. Her choice of words simply sounded wrong.

Early on, Mel simply passed the time with deductions, but it quickly grew boring. Sure, there were some interesting people. A dark-eyed girl with dyed pink hair was a curious one. She was clearly uncomfortable with her hair color, and has been for a bit of time. Some party-goers had teased her on it, but most just ignored it like they were used to it. Of course, if Pinkie had the opportunity, she would've gotten rid of the horrendous color, but since she hasn't, her parents were probably teaching her to stick with her decisions, or she didn't have the money, one way or another. It could have been both, but Melanie knew that financial problems was part of it (although Pinkie was in no position to fall into poverty). Most of her belongings were cheap knock-offs of the current trends. Well, not exactly current. Pinkie was desperately trying to keep up.

However, what really intrigued her was Pinkie's phone. It was highly expensive, but poorly taken-care of. Considering the fact that Pinkie was clutching her fake Prada purse, a look of despair coming into her eyes every time a bit of dust appeared on the bag, she nor her parents have paid for her phone. Therefore, the phone had to have a previous owner. Pinkie wouldn't treat a phone like that so poorly, and if she did, her parents would most likely confiscate it. It was probably a gift.

But Pinkie was the most interesting person during the entire bonfire, and she wasn't very complicated nor difficult to figure out. Mel finished her bottle, unsatisfied, before approaching Teddy and Lolly.

"How long does it take for someone to come to a party?" Melanie questioned the slightest bit impatiently, not expecting an answer. The question was rhetorical, after all.

"Just make sure I get texts every hour, and don't forget you have to wake up early that morning. Lacrosse practice". His mother's voice rang from the kitchen complimented by the delicious smell of vegetable stir-fry. Matthew tossed his nike overnight bag on the granite island countertop and moving in behind his mother eyeing the stir-fry. "Will do, mother dearest" he quickly snatched a large piece of red pepper from the pan popping it in his mouth mid-sentence. "Matthew!" His mother's sharp retort was followed by a subtle smack of a wooden spoon right in his arm. "Ow! God mom, watch where you wield that thing" he grumbled grabbing his bag and slinging it over his shoulder. "Hands out of the stir-fry." "It was one pepper!".

"Tell that to your father" She said with a raised eyebrow before her features fell a bit softer. "Oh and Matty don't forget to tell Jasper I said hello, and I hope he's feeling better".

Matthew and Jasper's Friday night consisted of mainly video games, and an unhealthy amount of pizza and chips. The two would've been holed up for the entire weekend if it hadn't been for Alice's invite to a party. Jasper was a little reluctant to go, but Matthew never turned down the opportunity for a party. The social atmosphere, loud music, and loads of reckless teenagers were amusing to him. Alice had agreed to pick the two up around nine, but surprisingly (not to Matt) she was late. However, with the extra time to get ready he wasn't one to complain. Ironically, Matthew was always prepared for a night out. Call it a nervous twitch (or his apparent metrosexuality) but he wasn't one to come underprepared. He gave a small salute to Jasper before disappearing into the bathroom, his mother often joked that he was like a girl when it came to getting ready. He spent time digging through his nike bag, and giving Jasper a fashion show, much to his 'excitement' before finally picking a red and black flannel, over a plain white t-shirt, a pair of dark jeans, and his new grey and black nike roshes he begged out of his mother.

Upon having his 'grand reveal' to Jasper, he was given an eye roll and "You spent thirty minutes in there for that?" on which Matthew replied with a rather bitchy, "Shut up" that caused both the boys to laugh. About another 20 minutes had passed, Matthew had nearly fallen asleep on the couch when he heard Jasper's voice, "Matt, time to go. Alice is here"

"Finally, any later and I would've thought she was dead." He called back.

Matthew hurried out behind Jasper slipping into the front seat of the car, giving Alice a teasing eye roll. "You know Greyson, if you actually were our paid chauffeur I'd fire you in a hot second. Next time give me a heads up so I can go to Pauley's and get a milkshake." Other than Alice and Matthew's fiery yet humorous banter back and forth the car ride was quiet, Jasper busied himself in the scenery and after a while Alice turned up the music to drown out the constant humming of the car. It seemed like hours before they finally pulled up the gravel road to the small house situated in the woods. Matthew could make out the hazy orange flames of the bonfire just around the trees, and the flow of teenagers coming in and out of the house, nearly all with bright red solo cups in their hands.

Matthew was the first to step out of the car, stretching his legs, a lazy smile appearing on his face. It didn't take long for the energy flowing from the chaotic party to get Matthew's blood pumping and he began jogging up to the bonfire turning around to yell at Alice and Jasper who lagged behind. "Hurry up you slowpokes!" He called from behind his shoulder, he had a tendency to use outdated lingo. It was a quirk that Alice had called him out on quite often, his dad had definitely rubbed off on him.

The heat from the fire felt wonderful, considering the temperature had started to drop as the moon rose. Already he had to push through a strew of sweaty teenage bodies to get to a spot that wasn't taken up by the fire. There were a few 'hellos' and whistles from fellow teammates and friends, which he returned with friendly smiles, as Matthew weaved his way through the crowd and found a vacant log near the fire that would be big enough for the three of them. For the time being he was reluctant to grab a cup of alcohol. He wasn't to keen on making any bad decisions just yet.

ALICE GREYSON
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Alice gave an even larger, more dramatic eye roll as she gave a side glance to Matt. "If I was your paid chauffeur I would have quit after the second time you dropped some sort of liquid beverage in my car," she commented back teasingly. "The only reason I even let you into my car now is out of the kindness of my own, tender loving heart," she grinned wide as she pulled out of the driveway, finally making their way to the party.

Alice turned up the music on the radio, more or less so she could ignore the sometimes disconcerting sounds her old car made. It wasn't anything bad enough that she would fear her car spontaneously combusting or anything, it just sounded like lots of money to fix. It was better to live in blissful ignorance for as long as she could. Tapping her fingers on the steering wheel rhythmically along to the tune on the radio, eventually they pulled up around where the party was situated.

It was her friend Jessica's parent's tiny cabin. It was in the woods, fairly spread apart from any other property. From what she heard her parent's barley ever used it. They were out of town, so Jess took the opportunity. She just decided to hold it outside as to not break anything on the inside. It was a smart move.

Alice had only gotten the invite from Jess about a week ago. They weren't super close by any means, more or less just friends in English class who always partnered together for projects. Jess had made sure to tell Alice to invite Matt and Jasper to tag along as well. She had an inkling that the petite strawberry blonde haired girl had a crush on one of them judging by her tendency to randomly pop up during lunch at school and go all red in the face whenever she made eye contact with either of them. Maybe Jess even had a crush on both.

Climbing out of her car, Alice left her coat on her seat. She could see the smoke from the presumed bonfire from where the party noise came from and decided that if she got cold enough, she would come back here and get it. Twirling her keys in her hand once after locking the doors, she turned towards her friends and saw Matt already scampering along. "Watch out, you may break a hip, old sport!" She hollered back to him, laughing as she did.

Glancing over at the tall boy to her right, she gave Jasper a reassuring smile. She could see the nervous look on his face. Grabbing his hand, she gave it a light squeeze as she stated, "Hey, It'll be fine. Chances are someone's already drunkenly climbed a tree and fell or walked into the fire. They'll be talking about that more than anything else." Alice could easily tell where his apprehension was coming from. Matt and Alice where the only one's who actually knew the truth of the mysterious reason the jackass hit the car as he did.

Alice had seen the video. It was peculiar, alright. One second the dude Austin went to grab Alice rather aggressively from behind after she'd turned away, and the next his back smacked hard into the car parked behind him. Thankfully, the camera was filmed from a little ways away on an obviously less than par cellphone camera. It could be brushed off as a trick of the eye. Alice was more pissed than anything about the whole Austin being a dick by really not taking rejection well and someone filming the fight he'd initiated. Yeah, it was getting a little heated and loud before in the parking lot between them, but why would someone care to film that? Probably waiting for punches to be thrown. They'd essentially gotten what the wanted.

While Jasper hadn't been at school the days after the fact, understandably so, Alice had tried her best to dissuade any rumours from coming up. Some people thought she had pushed him too hard, or that something really weird like magic had occurred. She'd made sure the story spread around that someone had appeared from behind her own car and shoved him away, and ran off before any confrontation happened. She just 'conveniently' couldn't remember the face of the person who it was, or why he couldn't be seen in the video. 'Must be a trick of the light', she'd say.

Still holding Jasper hand, she skipped along the path after Matt, dragging him along with her. "Now come on, let's go laugh at our drunk classmates!"

As soon as they entered the space in which people crowded around, Alice let go and gave various waves and greeting's to the friends she saw. She even ran up and gave Jess a hug, being sure to thank her again for the invite and let her know the boys came. Slipping easily between people, Alice brightly smiled at Matt as she bent down behind him to wrap her arms around the sitting boy shoulders, resting her chin on top of his head. "Anna's going to call every hour and she wants to speak to either one of you to know all is well," Alice told both her friends as her hazel eyes scanned the crowd around them, people watching. "So I swear, if either one of you get incoherently drunk and say something dumb to her, I'll kick your-"

Alice's rambling comment trailed off as she spotted a face she didn't expect to see. "Oh no," she groaned, ducking behind Matt before she had time to make eye contact with Austin. The boy had been absent at school as long as Jasper. Dang, he looked a little beat up. She didn't want to talk to him. He's the one person who would know for sure no one had pushed him. She had no idea what he thought of the whole situation. Thankfully, it was a pretty busy party. More than a hundred people. They could avoid him. Hopefully.

Jasper watched as Matthew jogged off to the bonfire. Personally, Jasper was in no rush to join the party. He stayed where he was standing as he waited for Alice. A chuckle escaped his lips as Matt yelled at them, and again when Alice yelled back. Jasper returned Alice’s smile with a small one. He let out a small breath as Alice spoke to him. Jasper nodded in reply and gave Alice’s hand a squeeze back. He kept up with her easily as she skipped after Matt.

He made sure to avoid eye contact with the people Alice greeted. The last thing he wanted was to end up stuck in a conversation because of something as simple as eye contact. Also, Jasper always got a tiny bit annoyed when Matt and Alice decided to talk to other people. In his mind, they didn’t need any other friends. That was just his possessive nature talking though. Jasper ignored the feelings he felt and pushed them down. It wasn’t like he spent any less time with them because of these other friends.

Now Jasper was of course friendly with others, but he didn’t talk to them much. He didn’t even actively seek them out to spend time with them. The only reason he would spend time with someone he didn’t consider a friend, would be for affection. He didn’t use these people though. Jasper made his intentions clear. Jasper hadn’t made one of those types of relationships in a while. His old ones had stopped because the people got in relationships, moved, and or stopped talking to Jasper. They normally stopped talking to him because they finally realized Jasper was serious about not wanting a relationship.

Love was something Jasper did not believe in, so why would he get into a romantic relationship? Love just seemed like a word people used without much thought. Why would he want to waste his time and invest his feelings into someone who may not truly love him? Jasper was pulled out of his thoughts when Alice spoke. She had bent over to wrap her arms around Matt. Jasper squatted in front of them. He wanted to face Alice as she spoke. A mischievous grin graced his face. Anna would call every hour to make sure they were okay?

Jasper debated if he should mess with Alice by telling her he planned on telling Anna they were at a rave with drugs and alcohol. He could tell her he planned on getting so wasted that he’d have to be carried home too. Though, Jasper didn’t get to mess with Alice. He noticed she stopped talking before finishing her sentence. He turned his head as he heard her say: “Oh no”. He understood why she said it when he saw Austin.

Anger hit Jasper like a truck going 100 mph. His lips pressed together and formed a thin line. He had to make himself take a deep breath to try to calm down. He felt like he normally did before he snapped. Though, Jasper knew he shouldn’t snap at this party. He hadn’t snapped since middle school. There was this guy who bullied his science partner, Oliver. They were partnered for a big project. The project was one that was due in two month from when assigned.

After spending so much time with someone for a project, you get to know the person. Jasper found out about the bullying and did his best to try to protect Oliver. Though, one day Jasper missed school. The bully had beaten up Oliver that day. Jasper snapped as he saw the bully laughing about it with his friends the next day. Jasper slammed the bully into some lockers and proceeded to beat him to a pulp. It took about three people to pull Jasper off of the kid. Oddly enough, Jasper didn’t get in trouble. He knew now he didn’t get in trouble because his mother had the power of persuasion.

Jasper took another deep breath and looked at his friends. He actually looked anger, like he was ready to kill someone. He cleared his throat and gave them a forced smile. “Alice, please do not go anywhere without Matt or me...because if I see Austin messing with you again...I may just throw him into the bonfire,” he said in a serious tone. He let out a small harsh laugh. He hoped the laugh eased the tension of his words. Hopefully it added the effect that Jasper was joking too, but Jasper wasn’t sure himself if he was joking or not.

He pulled out his flask out from the inside pocket of his black leather jacket. He opened it and took a sip. He had filled it with cinnamon whiskey earlier that day. Jasper never liked the taste of beer, but he did love cinnamon whiskey. He decided a bit of drinking might help him relax. Also, he wouldn’t really get drunk as he had a high tolerance. After a few more sips, he returned the flask to his pocket. Jasper hadn’t really dressed up for the party. He could care less what anyone thought of his outfit. Besides the jacket, he wore a fitted grey t-shirt, tapered black sweats, and black running shoes. He was more ready for the gym than a party.

XXXAs the party went on, Teddy began to feel restless. No one of interest was around and he couldn't sense the demon. All Teddy wanted was to find this lost demon, deal with it, and head back home. "How long does it take for someone to come to a party?" Melanie questioned suddenly appearing next to them. The junior detective and the resident party boy were on good terms, depending on your definition of good. They didn't hate each other nor particularly fond of one another. As long as their mission wasn't compromised by himself, she wouldn't have a problem with him. However, Teddy never goes easy on someone. "Maybe I'll mess it up on purpose. The mission would succeed though. He'd just want to make it a bit harder on the detective. All in good fun, though.

XXX"Fashionably late?... or a good lay. Both good reasons in my book."

XXXThe question didn't need to be answered, but he couldn't help it. Anything to ruffle Melanie's feathers. He was preparing another retort when he felt something. He wasn't being touched or something was in his space. The feeling was familiar, something he felt all the time at Augustine Academy. The demon was here, just arrived as the feeling was new. Teddy side glanced at his partners, seeing if they felt the same thing. The way the two's back straightened and eyes scanning the crowd said it all.

XXXTeddy's green eyes surveyed the crowd, looking for the new arrival. He began to walk towards the feeling, gesturing with two fingers for his two lady accomplices to follow him. The feeling got stronger when he walked near XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXthree teenagers sitting on a log. Teddy stopped before it looked like he was XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXgoing to approach them. He will... just not before strategizing with his XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXpartners.

Teddy took a moment to observe the three teens. Melanie would be able to tell more about them than Teddy ever could, but it didn't hurt to make his own assumptions. The trio consisted of two boys and a girl, the girl currently leaning on one of the boys before ducking suddenly. Teddy's eyes followed the direction to see a slightly beat up boy looking at the trio. The guy looked like trouble, not just because of the black eye. Teddy took a mental note to keep an eye on black eye guy. He returned his gaze to the threesome. He snorted to himself, not what he meant. One of the boys took a flask out of his pocket. Why it was designed with a colorful owl made no sense, but everyone is allowed to have different *cough* bad *cough* tastes. The girl was cute, dressed in a pink crop top and a pair of skinny jeans. 'Both showing off a nice body.' The two boys were nice to look at as well. One clearly tried to put effort into his appearance, something Teddy appreciates eying the guy, while the other looked like he just left gym class. Being late obviously wasn't due to Teddy's normal reasons. The gym rat was where he got the strongest of his feeling from. 'Ding, ding, ding!' Now the planning commences.

"I say divide and conquer. Somebody distract the cute one and girl, and then grab the lost boy. Dibs on the cute one."

His plan wasn't very thought out, but hey, it's a start.

Eloise Huxley
Hex: #7c8db2

Before Eloise could make a good comeback, Teddy was already there. As usual, something obscene escaped his lips before he could be helped. Lolly rolled her eyes at his comment, ignoring anything else that might make her innocent cheeks flush. A loose hand ran through her fiery red hair. Around them the party raged on, young people dancing against each other with red solo cups and the light from the bonfire made a dim light show against the trees surrounding the area.

With a slight tug at what she presumed was her stomach, Eloise knew that the lost demon was present. She glanced around the crowd, trying to spot the end of their mission. There, among two other people was their goal. Watching them for just a few moments told Eloise a lot about their relationships. Clearly, they were close. They were a well put together trio, and somehow reminded them of herself with Melanie and Teddy. The lost demon was tall and bit a dopey looking. He reminded her of some sort of book character, not quite handsome but quirky enough to be considered interesting and even cute. The girl with them was pretty and stylish, and was overreacting about something. The lost demon and girl by themselves seemed an odd pair, but the other boy seemed to be a good median. From what Eloise could tell, he was energetic and excitable. He had one of those sweet boy faces, the kind of person who could bring people together.

Eloise shook her head at Teddy's plan. "Right," she said sarcastically. "Just grabbing him seems like a great idea. Genius in fact." Lolly crossed her arms across her chest for a moment to show her distaste for his suggestion. It was right about then thatEloise expected Mel to come up with some kind of socially acceptable game plan. Before Teddy could go in for the kill, Eloise spoke again. "We should probably just..." Eloise wasn't sure what the right word was, "Befriend them." Her dark brown eyes scanned over the trio again.

"Then in a couple of days we can further our goal." Eloise's voice was stiff, her language growing professional. It was clear that she as all business at this point. It was unlikely that she, Teddy, and Mel would actually become friends with the lost demon and his cohorts. Forming a relationship with the other trio was just a way for them to stay close to the lost demon. That way, when the time was right, he could just disappear from Newport all together.

"Fashionably late?" Teddy suggested. "... or a good lay. Both good reasons in my book."

Mel rolled her eyes half-jokingly. She didn't share Teddy's sense of humor, but she didn't exactly mind it. Everybody was different. The brunette had opened her mouth to retort, but was cut off by a very familiar feeling. She snapped her mouth shut, her back straightening instinctively and let her gaze roam over the crowd. Demon. The lost demon, to be precise. He was here.

Mel's eyes gravitated towards a trio consisting of two boys and a girl. The taller boy - he looked like he was almost a half foot taller than the other boy - was obviously the lost demon. He didn't seem to put much effort into his appearance, unlike the shorter boy. The taller boy - Mel was going to call him Draco - was clearly a cat person. The single ginger hair on his leg said so. Draco seemed like a pacifist rather than a fighter. You could see it in his mannerisms. The tall brunette boy had pulled out a flask - cinnamon whisky, Mel thought to herself, distinguishing the very faint scent. Draco could be his own person, but personally, Melanie thought his taste was absolutely horrendous. A multicolored owl, of all things...

The shorter boy was an athlete. Given his physique, he was probably a lacrosse player. The shorter boy - Melanie was going to call him Pancake for some incredibly strange reason - most likely cross-trained as well. From his muscle mass, he was probably a track-runner, although it was clearly not his main sport. If it was, than Mel would be no short of surprised.

Although this did not apply to all lacrosse-players, Mel could tell that Pancake was a people person. Lacrosse was a team sport, so Pancake definitely couldn't be completely unsociable.

The girl seemed like a coffee addict...or something or the sort. She had that almost caffeinated energy to her. Mel had to deduce that the girl drank at least four cups of coffee a day. Probably more. And Mel saw the girl's phone. It was a flip phone. She clearly didn't care much for technology, or else she'd be sinking in her despair at this point.

In the girl's excited frenzy of greeting her friends who were already at the bonfire, Melanie saw just a hint of the long scar on her back. The girl most likely intended to hide it for whatever reason, and most people wouldn't notice hints of the scar beneath her dark hair. It looked like some glass had cut her - the scar would look much different if it were a knife or something of the like. It was most likely a shattering window or beer bottle. Alcoholic parents were getting much more common these days. The scar definitely wasn't recent, though, so the girl either got adopted or currently lives with a foster family. Mel had a feeling she wasn't living with her mother.

If Mel explained all her observations out loud, it would at least a full minute and a half. Time seemed to slow down whenever she read people.

"I say divide and conquer," Teddy suggested. "Somebody distract the cute one and girl, and then grab the lost boy. Dibs on the cute one."

Eloise immediately shook her head at the statement. "Right," sarcasm was evident in the redhead's voice. "Just grabbing him seems like a great idea. Genius in fact." She crossed her arms before speaking again. "We should probably just..." Eloise paused, searching for the right word, "befriend them. Then in a couple of days we can further our goal." Eloise's language grew more professional.

"Sorry, Teddy," Mel said mildly, "but your plan sucks. Let's go with Lolly's plan, but be careful about seeming too...overwhelming. It's not exactly normal to be approached by a trio of friends who just randomly want to befriend you. And hey, if we manage to become their friends, go hit on whoever you want, Teddy. Just don't jeopardize the mission or any of us."

Matthew smiled as he felt Alice's arms wrap around his shoulders and her head rest on top of his own. "Anna's going to call every hour and she wants to speak to either one of you to know all is well," Matthew immediately snickered at the thought. Matt had seen his fair share of angry Anna, and he'd rather not again. Even if the thought of teasing Alice was so entirely tempting. "So I swear, if either one of you get incoherently drunk and say something dumb to her, I'll kick your-"

Matthew opened his mouth to let out a witty remark when he noticed Alice's sudden change in expression and followed her eyes to none other than Austin. His face immediately furrowed in a frown as he surveyed the boy who looked as if he had been in a scuff not long before the party. Matthew had tried milking the entire story out of the both of them, but they refused to talk. Alice always became uncomfortable around the topic, and Jasper turned stone cold. Obviously, the nagging feeling of not having the entire story bothered him, but he felt as if his constant banter wouldn't even break either of them. Still he had heard the rumors that surfaced after the incident, and everything seemed a little far fetched for his liking.

“Alice, please do not go anywhere without Matt or me...because if I see Austin messing with you again...I may just throw him into the bonfire,” Matt turned his eyes to Jasper noting the obvious strain of anger and tension across his face. His curt laugh didn't do much to ease his feelings. "Whoa there cowboy, if you wanted to get scrappy you should've told me. Wouldn't have worn my new shoes..." Matthew mumbled the last bit under his breath. While it seemed entirely vain of him it was quite true, but at the same time it served as a mood lightener.

The Flask. Of course Jasper still had that thing, even after Matthew's constant comments about the tacky thrift piece. However, Jasper had a knack for finding things with, character? "You know, if that thing wasn't used for smuggling alcohol I would've destroyed it by now, but just to piss Alice off, hand it over". He snatched the flask out of Jasper's hand and took a lengthy drink of the whiskey before tossing it back to Jasper. He lifted his head up to wiggle his eyebrows at Alice, "Mhm, looks like somebody is designated driver again".

A sudden wave of nervousness fell over Matthew in a matter of seconds, and he felt the weight of eyes on him. He turned away from Alice and Jasper his eyes scanning the crowd, before making eye contact with a group of teenagers. The looked very out of place. Well, appearance wise they fit in quite nicely, but Matthew almost felt a strange vibe from them. Not to mention they were all currently looking at Alice, Jasper, and himself quite intentionally. "3 o'clock, have you two seen them here before?" It was quite odd for Matthew to be unfamiliar with anyone in their town, because he practically socialized with everyone.

He took a moment to survey them, the one in the middle first. She seemed like the most authoritative role out of the three. Very pretty, but with a gaze that could probably smite you where you stand. His eyes moved then to the small freckle-faced redhead, Matthew's eyes softened. He'd have to strike a conversation with her, he had a feeling she wasn't as innocent as she seemed. Finally, Matthew's eyes gazed at the tall drink of water that towered over the other two. There was a brief moment of eye contact, and Matthew managed to slide in a lazy smile at the boy.

He sharply turned back to Jasper and giddy smile on his face, "Alright, I might need another drink".

ALICE GREYSON
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Standing up from her crouched position behind Matt, she slipped over to the clearly aggravated Jasper. She preferred not to see her best friends angry, especially to the point in which they were threatening to burn someone and nearly meaning it. Resting her hand on his arm, she tried to lighten the mood by saying teasingly, "I'm not sure you'd get to him before I threw him into the fire first," smiling with a faux sly look. She bumped her shoulder his (well, bumped her shoulder into his arm because he was so dang tall) adding, "he probably won't even say anything. If there's on thing I've learned from this, that boy is a coward."

In honestly, the only reason Alice hadn't confronted Austin yet about the situation was because of Jasper. She wanted nothing more in the world than to kick the dude's ass for trying to hit her when she wasn't looking, but she couldn't draw any more attention to the situation. Of course, if Austin made the first move, Alice wouldn't hold back. It's not like she's someone who goes looking for a fight or anything, but she has no reservations of kicking some guy down who has no respect for boundaries.

Sitting down on the log beside Matt, she mumbled a short "yeah, yeah," in reply to his designated driver comment. She didn't mind much. She never really drank, or at least never drank to the point of getting drunk. Alice gets nervous with the idea that her reflexes might not be as sharp as she likes them to be. "At least I don't have to drink out of that flask," she quirked a smile, moving her gaze away from Austen to give a playful side glance at Jasper. Maybe she would custom paint a flask for him for Christmas. Or maybe she would hide that owl flask from him until he was forced to buy a new one. Who knew.

"Typical Matthew Clarke logic; piss off the girl who's your safest ride home," she smirked, will a sarcastic roll of her eyes. Of course, no matter how much he did end up pissing her off, she knew in all seriousness she'd never abandon him at a party drunk. Matt knew that very well, as did Jasper. Still, that doesn't mean she couldn't throw that little threat out there.

Tightening up her pony tail, she turned her head in the direction of the group of teens Matt commented about. When her eyes landed on them, it seems their gaze had already been on the three of them before. Eery. "They're like the breakfast club if they killed two of their own members," Alice mumbled, more to herself than to her friends. They all stood out like a sore thumb. Alice had never seen them before, and if Matt was asking who they were, then they definitely had to be new. They could just be Jess's out of town friends, but something just seemed weird, especially when they were just staring at them.

Alice was quick to note whose eyes Matt wandered too, after noticing the look on his face. Here we go. Alice gave a knowing glance and a sly smile before picking up Matt's hand. She moved it side to side in a floppy wave at the group, saying in a stage whisper to Matt, "say hi!"

Suddenly, Pancake turned around, his eyes catching sight of Mel and her friends. The hazel-eyed brunette kept a cool head, snatching up another bottle of beer that she probably wasn't going to finish. Hey, standing idle while staring at a group of three seemingly random seventeen-year-olds was suspicious. Of course, the trio were most likely already gossiping about the strangeness of Mel, Teddy, and Lolly, but the demons still had an act to keep up.

"Careful, they caught us," Mel furtively muttered to Teddy and Eloise, sneaking a second beer bottle to her lips to hide the fact that she was speaking, stealing a sip as she did so. She swallowed the beer, turning her gaze away slightly from the group of three who were probably trying to draw a conclusion about Melanie and her friends. "They know that we're not from around here."

Melanie noticed Pancake flash a lazy smile to Teddy, the only male in the group of demons clearing catching his attention. The girl in the trio noticed as well, lifting Pancake's hand. She moved it side to side, imitating a wave to Mel and her friends.

Melanie tilted the beer bottle back before removing it from her lips, swallowing the liquid. "Bingo," she said. "We're in. Teddy, you're eyeing Panca - er, shortie - over there, and he's interested in you. Perfect way to introduce ourselves to those three." Mel nodded her head slightly to Eloise. "Lolly and I can just be two friends trying to get you to hook up with someone. Of course, in reality, you wouldn't need help with that, but we have an opportunity here."

Melanie gestured to Lolly before pushing Teddy towards the group by his shoulders. The brunette plastered a charming smile on her face, as genuine as she could get it.

"Hey!" she greeted, flashing a smile at the three humans. "I'm sure you probably haven't seen us around here before. I'm Melanie, but everyone just calls me Mel. The redhead over here is Eloise, or Lolly for short, and the lone male is Teddy. We saw you from the other side of the bonfire," Mel gestured to where she, Eloise, and Teddy had been standing just moments before, "and we just wanted to say hi. We've just recently moved to Newport, so we don't really know anybody here." Okay, maybe the first plan was going to waste. Mel could still try to get Teddy Bear and Pancake together though.

Mel swung an arm around Teddy's shoulders, making the movement look natural. She smirked playfully in a friendly manner. "I'm sure Teddy Bear here," Melanie squeezed her friend's shoulder, "is getting tired of hanging around girls all the time. Gives him a bad rep." She pushed Teddy forward gently - intentionally in the direction of Pancake. "You guys'll make him feel loved, I can tell that already."

This may be a bit much for a first meeting, but Mel knew how to be easygoing enough. Besides, she, Teddy, and Eloise could not return to the demon capitol empty-handed.

Mel turned to the brunette girl - her name was Alice, if she overheard correctly. Of course, Mel wasn't exactly supposed to know that. She smiled, sticking her hand out. "Afraid I didn't catch your name."

That handshake was going to be the most life-changing thing Mel was ever going to do.

His gaze went to Matt when he heard the comments about his shoes. It was amusing of how Matt always seemed to care about how he looked. Jasper was pretty much the opposite. He could care less. It wasn’t like he wanted to impress anyone. Besides, he only needed Matt and Alice. Jasper stood up from his position and sat on the log next to Matt. He stretched his legs out.

He ignored Matt’s comment about his flask. He placed it back into his pocket when Matt finished taking a drink. Jasper had found the flask a few years ago at a yard sale. It was brand new and the owner was just selling it for a few bucks and some change. Jasper liked it enough as it was quirky.

His gaze moved to Alice when she made an empty threat to Matt. He knew she wasn’t serious. If Alice were ever serious about ditching Matt, Jasper would not have it. He would stay to keep Matt safe. They would find a way home one way or another. Though, if Alice ever did that, it would be a blow to their friendship. Jasper had known Matt since he was a child.

Jasper didn’t try to make it a secret when he looked at the trio Matt was talking about. He knew they didn’t go to the high school. He never saw them before. There was a pretty boy, freckled face girl, and another female. He looked away from them when he noticed Alice forcing Matt to wave to the trio. He rolled his eyes. His jealously woke up inside of him. He didn’t want his friends to make any other friends. Though, they were just some strangers, so maybe it wouldn’t lead anywhere.

Matt seem to have an interest in the pretty boy, but maybe that wouldn’t mater. Jasper knew if Matt had an interest for the boy, he would just need to be there for support. The pretty boy seemed like the playboy type, but Jasper wouldn’t assume for the moment. His eyes watched as the trio made there way over. He almost went to take another sip from his flask, but resisted.

He listened while the female introduced everyone in her group. Jasper enjoyed the name Teddy Bear for the pretty boy. Also, he was fine with calling the girls by their nicknames. When Mel held her hand out for Alice to shake, Jasper decided to intercept. He got a bit jealous. He wasn’t exactly happy the trio had made their way over anyways. Jasper stood up and shook her hand firmly, but gently at the same time. He gave her a small genuine smile.

Hello Mel, her name is Alice. My name is Jasper, and the boy on the log goes by Matt ,” he said. He let go of her hand and crossed her arms. Jasper then looked at Teddy Bear. He smirked at him. “Hello Teddy Bear, my friend Matt would like to get to know you…if you know what I mean ,” he said playfully. Jasper then looked at Matt and gave him a wink. He knew Matt may plan his death very soon, but Jasper decided to take the risk. He sat back on the log next to Matt. He turned his head to look at him, a stupid smile on his face.

So Matt, how about you get up and talk to Teddy Bear? He is cute enough,” he said with a smirk. He glanced at Lolly and smiled at her. He didn’t want to ignore anyone in the group. “Nice freckles,” he commented. It wasn’t the best first impression, but Jasper was more interested in how Matt and Teddy Bear would interact.

xxxMaybe the three of them staring at the trio wasn't the best idea for subtly. Teddy could feel the eyes of the better looking guy in the group eying him. Not like he blamed, he is a work of art, outwardly. Inside is a whole other story. Cute one's friend's attempt of waving a his limp hand at their group didn't go unnoticed. Teddy held his beer cup to his mouth trying to hide a laugh. Poor guy, embarrassing for him, but comical for Teddy.

xxxThe Detective, one of his many nicknames for Mel, kept talking about the obvious. How they knew they weren't from here and caught them staring. I mean... duh. This town is so small. Three teenagers suddenly appearing out of nowhere is bound to draw attention. "Did you expect something else? We're probably the best thing they've seen in a while." When she mentioned hooking Teddy up with who she called 'Pancake,' he was call ears.

xxx"I guess my good looks came in handy." He said very arrogantly, with a wink. "Try not to be too embarrassing. I do the seducing, you do the distracting."

xxxThe trio made walked to the other one. Well, Teddy was busy being pushed by Melanie towards the group. However, he would take that any day over Melanie calling him 'Teddy Bear.' His eyes turned narrow at first, but then he put on a friendly expression. He'll get her back for that later. Mel pushing him yet again, this time towards Cute One (whose name he xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxiiixxxxxneeds to get). Thankfully, he didn't run into him. The cliché 'falling on top xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxixxx of each other was not his style. Although, Teddy wouldn't mind the guy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxunderneath him. ;)

Not-as-cute-one didn't seem to pleased with Teddy's group's arrival. When he deliberately cut off Melanie's handshake with cute girl, Teddy would've given the guy glare. Mel was being her nice self so the jerk had no reason to crap like that. The only sign of friendliness was when his eyes gleamed when Mel called Teddy a 'teddy bear.' Stupid prick enjoying this.

His eyes moved to the boy who caught them in the first place. He heard not-as-cute-one, now known as Jasper, say the girl's name is Alice and the other boy was Matt. He sampled the name in his head. Matt was a fine name. Matthew, however, sounded sexy as hell. Theodore sounded like an eighty-year-old man. The kid is fortunate to have a decent name.

Teddy squatted down, getting on Matt's level since he was sitting on a log. He wouldn't sit on the ground, though, no reason to get his pants dirty. "Hey, I'm Teddy." He tried to keep his smile as charming as possible. Listening to Jasper go on about how Matthew should talk to him was interesting. Teddy would've guessed they'd be overprotective, not pushing them together. Alice and Jasper are growing on him. "So Matthew," specifically enunciating his first name, hoping to draw a reaction from the guy, "Do you know why they call me, Teddy?" Teddy leaned into Matthew, not touching him, but enough so he could whisper something in his ear. "Because I make bedtime fun." Teddy let the innuendo hang in the air, pulling back waiting for Matthew's reaction. Hopefully, he took the bait. An innocent smile made it's way onto Teddy's face. What a fun game.

Eloise Huxley
Hex: #7c8db2

Before Eloise had any argument to make, the three of them were greeting the other trio. It was strange to find such a well matched group of kids just like them. Eloise didn't make much note of it though. Mel was already introducing her and Teddy to the others. Eloise let her head lazily nod in the direction of the others as Mel spoke. Her wild orange hair flopped around effortlessly, making her look more laid back than she really was. That was the thing about Lolly's appearance, she always seemed easy going and ready to go with the flow. But that wasn't her, she was always forming some kind of plan in my mind.

Her dark brown eyes watched as the lanky lad, Jasper, intercepted Mel's handshake. Finding a bad taste in her mouth, Lolly narrowed her eyes and searched for a reaction from Teddy or Mel. Eloise resisted the temptation to roll her eyes before letting out a soft sigh of annoyance.

It was then that Jasper spoke to Eloise directly. The petite girl looked up at him with a furrowed brow. How unoriginal.

If Eloise had a dollar for every time someone commented on her freckles before anything else, she'd be on her way to rich. Plus, Lolly didn't really allow anyone but Teddy to call her anything but Eloise or Lolly. It was time to nip this one in the bud.

"Yeah, thanks," she said unenthusiastically. Lolly gave Jasper another look over. "Nice height," she said sarcastically, crossing her arms across her shoulder. Catching herself, Eloise stopped. It was time to play nice. There was no sense in trying to give this young demon a lesson. He would receive plenty of talks once he was integrated into their society and started schooling. Eloise caught sight of the decorative flask and narrowed her eyes at the sight. Why?

"What's with the flask?" she asked casually, trying to change the subject.

"They're like the breakfast club if they killed two of their own members,". Matt let out a curt laugh at Alice's small comment, shaking his head slightly. However he had to admit, they did have their own little vibe going on. Before he could add on to the conversation he felt Alice grab his wrist and awkwardly wave at the group. He quickly tried to tug his wrist away, the tips of his ears turning a light pink. When he finally managed to break free of her death grip he shot her a small glare. "What the hell Alice you- Oh god... They're coming over here. We will discuss this later". He barely time to plaster a lazy smile on his face before the brunette's confident greeting cut the silence.

"I'm Melanie, but everyone just calls me Mel. The redhead over here is Eloise, or Lolly for short, and the lone male is Teddy. We saw you from the other side of the bonfire,". Mel, Lolly, and Teddy. What an interesting group of names. From her tone the brunette, or Mel, definitely seemed to be somewhat of a leader within the trio. She seemed nice enough, reminded him a lot of Alice, which at the moment he couldn't decipher that as a good or bad thing. Lolly, presented more of a laid-back stature but Matthew couldn't help but want to know more about her. Even though they had just met he almost felt as if out of the three he knew her the least. Of course that left, the tall drink of water, or rather Teddy. Now that Matthew had a clear view of him, he couldn't help but admire the jawline that was probably crafted by God himself, (Matt would later on look back at the ironic side of this observation), and light emerald eyes that - Matthew blinked several times. He clearly wasn't used to being so drawn into someone before, it was almost as if there was something else, something underlying but he shook it off as mere attraction.

Thankfully Mel brought him back from the dreamboat and back to reality. Matthew wasn't sure if he was sad or not, "and we just wanted to say hi. We've just recently moved to Newport, so we don't really know anybody here." That was strange. Rarely anyone ever moved to Newport, there wasn't anything here and the timing just seemed so strange. Before he had time to even come up with anymore conclusions Mel discreetly pushed Teddy in his direction, he almost wouldn't have noticed it if he wasn't so interested in Teddy's presence. It was a bit odd, but again Matthew wasn't complaining.

What was flirting with a boy, or anyone for that matter if Jasper didn't try to mortify you. Matthew wasn't paying much attention to Jasper's greeting, until his best friend decided to tease him. "Hello Teddy Bear, my friend Matt would like to get to know you… if you know what I mean ,". Followed by a smartass wink which Matthew returned with a glare. Damnit Jasper, I am so getting you back for this. This hadn't been the first time Willow had interjected into a conversation just to screw with Matt. He opened his mouth to comment back, but Jasper unfortunately wasn't done."So Matt, how about you get up and talk to Teddy Bear? He is cute enough,". Oh, this meant certain death for Jasper. There was no way he was getting off easy, Alice would have to hold him back.

Matthew was still ready to fire back at Jasper, but instead was interrupted by none other than Theodore himself. "Hey, I'm Teddy." Matt quickly closed his mouth so he wouldn't look like a fish out of water. "Matthew... that's uhm my name", oh god, could this possibly get any worse. Alice would give him so much shit about this later. Matthew wasn't used to being thrown on his toes, much less completely flustered by someone. "So Matthew," Teddy drew out the pronunciation of his name, making his cheeks flush a light rose color. He felt like a deer trapped in headlights. "Do you know why they call me, Teddy?" Matthew stayed still frozen, as Teddy leaned in very close to his ear so much so that Matthew could feel his breath on his neck. He suddenly wished that Jasper had brought a much, much stronger alcohol. "Because I make bedtime fun." Matthew's eyes widened slightly. Very, very forward. Dear god, help me, forgive me, he said quietly in his mind. Matthew picked up that Teddy definitely did this, a lot, which should have bothered him but the boy was good at what he did. So why couldn't Matthew just give in, just once? It couldn't hurt right. "Is that so?" Matthew said quietly, gathering himself back from the puddle that Teddy had left him. The corner of his mouth tugged up in almost a devilish smile, "I'll believe it when I see it".

Two could play at that game.

Well, the handshake would've been the most life-changing thing Mel was ever going to do, if it wasn't intercepted by a little someone named Draco. Okay, fine, Draco wasn't little, and his name wasn't Draco. But Mel needed her fun.

Draco shook Mel's hand, giving her a small genuine smile. Melanie quirked her eyebrow up just the slightest bit for a split second, but didn't say anything. Just because Draco was being a prime example of bad manners didn't mean Mel had to be to. But Draco clearly intercepted the handshake because he was jealous - he also didn't like it when Mel, Lolly, and Teddy came over, but evidently, he was trying to hide the fact. But his jealousy clearly stated that he felt a sense of possession over his loved ones or those he's loyal to - you didn't have to be Mel to figure that out. But hey, at least Draco was the lost demon - that was a start.

"Hello Mel," Draco greeted. "Her name is Alice." Immediately, that put Melanie off. It could've just been her, but Draco's sense of possession over this Alice was a bit too much. A "normal person" didn't intercept a handshake for their friend and introduce them to the newcomers. A "normal person" would've let their friend do the handshake procedure themselves.

Then again, Draco was far from a normal person. He was the lost demon.

"My name is Jasper," Draco, who was now affirmed to be Jasper, continued. Damn. Although Mel knew it was logically improbable for a mother to name their son Draco, she still hoped. "And the boy on the log goes by Matt." Jasper let go of Mel's hand and crossed his arms, turning to face Teddy. He smirked at him as Mel frowned slightly. She wasn't the biggest fan of Mr. Lost Demon. Sure, she wasn't going to judge him, despite his obvious knitting habit (look at his clothes! And his hands), or his addiction to lip balm (call her crazy, but Mel was an observer; despite her inability to feel a sexual attraction to anyone she wasn't extremely close with, she was going to notice the state of one's lips). Although, his one-sided dislike for smokers had to put Mel off a little. Sure, she wasn't a smoker (yet), but she had almost a natural...attraction to cigarettes.

“Hello Teddy Bear, my friend Matt would like to get to know you…if you know what I mean," Jasper commented playfully, flashing Matt a wink.

He dared to call him Teddy Bear, Mel thought to herself, narrowing her eyes slightly; not enough to be noticeable. The only people who could even think about calling Teddy "Teddy Bear" were Lolly and Mel, plain and simple.

"So Matt, how about you get up and talk to Teddy Bear? He is cute enough," Jasper smirked. Damn, upfront. He glanced at Lolly and smiled at her. Mel felt something coming up - it was probably going to result in Lolly roasting the tall brunette. “Nice freckles,” he commented. Eloise furrowed a brow.

"Yeah, thanks," she said in an unenthusiastic manner. Lolly scanned Jasper with her dark eyes. "Nice height," she retorted sardonically. Mel mouthed "be nice and bitch slap him later", but Eloise got the memo. She quickly changed the subject. "What's with the flask?" Melanie half-smiled, and half-grinned at her from where Jasper couldn't see before turning her attention to Matt and Teddy.

"Hey, I'm Teddy," Teddy introduced himself with a charming smile. It clearly had an effect as Matt stammered out a, "Matthew... that's um my name".

"So, Matthew," Teddy's voice took on the infamous seductive lilt of his. "Do you know why they call me, Teddy?" Teddy leaned in, whispering his response into Matt's ear, a response Mel hadn't managed to catch. But it was probably one of Teddy's quips about the bed. Matt's eyes had widened, and he had that "oh, dear God" look on his face. But he composed himself, smirking devilishly as he murmured a response to Teddy's advances.

Mel leaned over to Lolly. "The sexual tension is so strong," she murmured quietly enough so that no one else could here, "But we're straying off the path. We still have a goal here."

ALICE GREYSON
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Alice chuckled lowly to herself. From the way things were going now, she was sure they would talk about it very later. She assumed his attention would mostly be on the other boy for the night— maybe even longer. Hell, if she was lucky Matt might forget about it all together.

Alice sat back as the group introduced themselves. They seemed nice enough, but something in Mel’s smile seemed the teeniest bit false in nature. No biggie, some people just weren’t for interaction. It reminded her slightly of a retail worker who was on their last leg of greeting people at the door but was still trying their best. What really caught Alice’s attention however was their story. Yeah, barley anyone moved to New Port, but she had only three years ago so she knew that it wasn’t outlandish. It was the fact that these three friends, who didn’t look related and seemed more friendly than family anyways, all moved together at the same time. They had to have been high school age.

Something just felt a little weird about it all. Maybe she was over thinking it, maybe not.

Snapping out of her head space, she just noticed in time that the girl Mel had offered her hand in greeting. Alice grinned, standing up from the log in order to greet her back, but before she could say anything Jasper cut her off. Here we go again..

Alice was used to this side of Jasper. His jealous streak wasn’t exactly something he tried to be discreet about. Didn’t mean it didn’t irk her. He had nothing to even worry about! Before Alice had met Matt or Jasper, she hadn’t even had friends she was close too. Yeah she socialized and bounced around circles, but she moved all the time and never kept in contact with anyone. If Jasper didn’t know he was sure as hell stuck with her for the rest of his life no matter what, she was afraid he’d never learn.

Alice moved to stand on the log to give her short stature a couple of extra inches, before reaching over to pinch Jasper’s cheek hard like a grandmother with a vengeance. “Awe, I love him, but Jasper still has yet to learn the art of manners,” she stated towards the other group. She wasn’t going to apologize on Jasper’s behalf however, no matter how much she wanted to. That was his job and it meant nothing coming from her.

Alice liked the other three, though. She still thought something was off, but none the less, she liked them. Especially Lolly for her retort. She didn't even hold back her laugh from that one.

Letting go of his cheek, she turned her attention of to Matt and the boy named Teddy to witness Matt’s (hopefully not bad) flirting. What she heard made her mouth gape open in a small ‘O’ shape. Having no control over the thought in her head travelling out of her mouth, she said with zero control and rather blatantly, “they aren’t going to do it on the log right here, are they?

After only a second of realizing what she had just said, her phone rang an annoying little chime that she still had no idea how to change. Letting out an awkward laugh, she exclaimed, “saved by the bell!”, before hopping of the log and scurrying away beside a nearby tree.

Flipping her phone open, Anna’s voice rang through. “Did you guys get there safe? Are you alright?” Anna asked, curiosity and slight concern lacing her tone. Alice coughed dramatically, saying in-between clearly false fits, “Hit tree,” cough. “See the light,” cough. “Elvis? Is that you?” She could almost imagine the eye roll Anna was giving as she stated “Haha,” with dripping sarcasm. Alice grinned as her eyes wandered around the crowd, landing on Austin once more distractingly. “Yeah, we’re all good here. Just regular teenage antics,” she clarified, before freezing on the spot as Austin’s gaze turned from his friend and onto her. Shit on a stick. Alice quickly ducked away, hoping that if she went back to her group he wouldn’t make his way over there if he saw there were others there he didn’t know. “Alright, well let me speak to Matt or Jasper for a second like the deal”. Alice didn’t want to break up Matt’s little flirting game just to tell her foster mom everything was good, so she shoved the phone Jaspers way, saying “It’s Anna.

Turning towards Mel and Lolly, not wanting to break up the little eye tango Teddy and Matt had going on, Alice grinned and declared, “Let’s try this again. Hi, I’m Alice, it's nice to meet you guys.” Sticking out her hand, she shook Lolly’s first before moving over to Mel to accept the handshake Jasper had blocked before. However, something unexpected happened as soon as she made contact.

Dropping her grip from the girl’s hand, a feeling of being burned from the inside coursed through her, the pain mainly concentrated in her hand. Alice hissed loudly in pain and jerked back in reaction. Her reflexes were so off that as soon as her heels hit the back of the log, she stumbled backwards over it and landed on the ground. God, she felt like she had been hit by a god damn truck. After about thirty seconds, the pain throughout her body started to fade from blinding heat to more of an intense shimmer of pins and needles.

Still lying on the ground, Alice groaned out, “did God just smite me?

His eyes scanned the crowd of partygoers. Jasper did have the urge to turn his head when Teddy leaned in to whisper to Matt. He resisted. Instead Jasper shifted his position slightly and turned his head ever so slightly. Jasper wanted to see Matthew’s reaction when Teddy stopped whispering. Jasper really wanted to know what Teddy Bear said, but he could always ask Matt later. His teeth dug gently into his bottom lip when he saw Matt’s eyes widen. Softly, he cleared his throat to hold back a laugh. He wondered if he would need to slap Teddy Bear for Matthew.

Jasper stood when he saw Matthew give a smile, a devilish one at that. He put his flask in his back pocket before putting his jacket on the log. His eyes went to Teddy Bear and he flashed him a smile. “You can sit on my jacket if you like. I can imagine you’d hate to get your outfit dirty. It probably took you forever to get ready for this party. I know it took Matthew forever,” he said.

Next his attention went to Lolly. He knew he had made a bad impression. Jasper did find the freckles appealing, as they weren’t something you saw often. Though, he knew she probably heard the generic compliment often. He found the “compliment” she gave him to be amusing. Jasper walked over to stand in front of Lolly. He looked down at her as he was prepared to answer her earlier question. He smirked at her as he took the flask out. He held it between them as he pretended to look at it with curiosity.

Well,” he paused to look Lolly in the eye, “This flask is to hold alcohol. It is holding cinnamon whiskey at the moment. Though, it can hold other types of alcohol and liquids too. I brought it with me to this party, as beer is a bit overrated. They probably have bad beer here anyways. If you have any other questions with an obvious answer, just let me know.

He winked at her before he went to stand at her side. Jasper had gotten a quick glance of Austin. He took a slow deep breath as he felt his anger bubble a bit. Jasper watched as Austin roamed throughout the crowd. He opened the flask and took a sip of it before he put it in his back pocket. He would rather not feel too much pain if he had to hit Austin. Hell, Austin could even get a hit in if they ended up in a tussle. Though, Jasper really hoped it did not come to that. The last thing he wanted was his anger to get the best of him.

It was too late by the time he noticed Alice on the log. He swore in his head as she pinched his cheek. It hurt, but he still rolled his eyes when she spoke. He gave her a smile when she mentioned his manners. His cheeks actually turned a very light shade of pink. Jasper wasn’t proud of his jealousy, but it happened. He was protective of Alice and Matt. It didn’t help these stranger gave him an odd feeling. Something just seem off about them. He just couldn’t put his finger on it.

Honestly he wondered why they were even talking to them. His group only interacted with their group since they were looking at them. Laughter escaped Jasper at Alice’s question. He sure hoped not or he would need to cock block. The last thing Jasper wanted was to watch Matthew get it on with someone.

His lips parted to ask Alice where she was going, but stopped when he saw the phone in her hand. He knew it must have been Anna on the other line. Jasper crossed his arms as he watched what direction she went in. Alice returned rather quickly and handed him the phone.

Hey Anna, it’s Jasper. I just wanted to le-” he gasped as his gut tighten and filled with a tingly sensation; it felt unpleasant and odd since it was a new feeling, “Shit, Alice!” His eyes widen as he watched her hit the ground.

Quickly he shut the phone and slid it into his pocket. He didn’t think of the heart attack he probably just gave Anna. Jasper ignored his gut as he knelt at Alice’s side. He looked at her with his eyes filled with worry.

Are you okay Alice? What’s wrong?” he paused to glance over at Matt, “It’s time to go. Please get my jacket and Teddy Bear’s number for yourself. Also, I may need your help get Alice in the car . I am sober enough to get us home,”

xxxSo the little human decided not be a puddle, smart choice. Teddy could tell his advances were having an effect on the boy. Watching a bit of pink come to Matthew's cheeks brought a impish grin to Teddy's face. The human was clearly flustered by Teddy's forward nature at first. Matthew didn't seem like an inexperienced type, unless he's playing with him. A pity if someone who looked like him didn't have any offers. Oh well, Teddy could teach him everything. "I'd be happy to show you, not here though. Voyeurism isn't a kink of mine." Although talking about his conquests brought some joy, the idea of someone watching is very off putting. "Not that I have performance issues."

xxxTeddy gave Matt a playful wink before sitting on the jacket Jasper offered. "I'm not paying for any cleaning if you find stains." Not like it's worth cleaning. Teddy sent a smug smile Jasper's way, before turning his attention back to the his friend.

xxx"So I was thinking..." Teddy's words trailed off once his hand gripped Matthew's knee. What was suppose to be a flirty, without being labeled as bad, touch turned out to have a much larger effect. Teddy felt like electricity (how ironic this would seem later) was rushing up his arm as Teddy stared into Matthew's eyes. A movie began to play in his head. Teddy kept seeing flashes of a little boy with golden-brown hair and big blue eyes running around through a backyard with a basset hound chasing at his feet. The boy kept calling out, "Charlie." The dog's name Teddy assumed. Suddenly, two adults appeared hugging the little boy, saying I love you's. The little boy was so happy, obvious by the gigantic grin on his face. The memory was so happy, but it only made Teddy sad. The little boy was so lucky. He'd give anything for one moment like that when he was little. The movie kept playing, showing more happy moments with the same boy with brown hair and blue eyes. A new memory appeared with what looked to be the same boy, but older. This memory felt sadder, more depressing. He was staring at a piece of paper with large print that said 'CONSENT TO ADOPT.' As soon as it appeared, the memory disappeared.

xxxIt couldn't have been more than a few minutes when Teddy came back to reality. His hand was no longer on Matthew's knee, but Teddy was still staring into his eyes. Teddy quickly changed his look of wonder into his typical half-smile. He prayed Matthew didn't realize what happened. Teddy didn't know himself! "Were you saying something? Sorry, you're pretty distracting, you know." A THUMP! sound caused Teddy to stand up quickly, wanting to move away from Matthew, but stay near him at the same time. A sudden protectiveness came over him. He just met the kid. Why does he care so much already?

xxxTurning towards the sound of the noise, he saw Alice laying on the ground. Jasper was at her side, helping her up. Teddy looked to Mel or Eloise to get some sort of explanation. He was distracted with Matthew and whatever that vision he saw was. He was so lost, almost as lost as Jasper. Moving to Lolly, he whispered, "What the hell just happened?"

This Jasper kid was all over the place. It was like he couldn't just pick one person to have a conversion with. Like his poor little brain needed the stimulation. Eloise narrowed her eyes at him as he intervened with Teddy and the other kid, again. Lolly had already forgotten the pretty boy's name. Resisting the jabs she could make at Jasper, Lolly managed to keep her tongue by the time he returned to their conversation.

Eloise was not amused. There was no way in hell that this kid was going to act superior than her and get away with it. Almost instantaneously she crossed her arms in front of her chest and balanced on a stuck out hip. Buttons. He really liked to push them.

Trying not to give in to it and let the little bastard have his fun, Eloise rolled her eyes at him. A small bubble of laughter escaped her mouth in distaste. For a moment it was like Eloise was blind, and words flowed out her mouth like downhill stream. "You know," she started, "it's really cute that you're trying to be clever, but I'm just... not amused." With the last words she gave Jasper a nasty sarcastic shrug and a half-assed smile. With a flip of her hair, everything began moving quickly. A phone call. A thud. Chaos and confusion.

Eloise shook her head, trying to put together the pieces. That Alice girl was on the ground. Like the flip of a switch, Eloise was in emergency mode. After all, she had spent the majority of her childhood in the middle of a war between demons and vampires. Eventually you grow used to odd events and become confident in scary situations. It also helped that Lolly was trained to work in the medical facility once she hit a decent age.

Within moments Eloise was beside Alice, looking her over. Did you hit your head?" She asked, with concern in her voice. "Can you feel all your fingers and toes?"

Mel lifted her head to face Alice as the short brunette turned to look at her and Lolly. She grinned. "Let’s try this again," she announced. "Hi, I’m Alice, it's nice to meet you guys." Alice stuck her hand out, shaking Lolly's hand first before turning to Mel.

As soon as Mel and Alice made contact, the latter dropped her hand immediately. Mel raised an eyebrow curiously, wondering why Alice reacted so quickly. As soon as she did that, Alice hissed in pain, stumbling over a log and falling to the ground. Mel furrowed her eyebrows, concern evident on her face.

"Did God just smite me?" Alice groaned, still on the ground. Jasper and Lolly dashed towards the brunette on the ground, concern in their voices. As they did that, Mel narrowed her eyes, trying to think.

Jasper is the lost demon, she started. Supposedly, there was a burst of uncontrollable power. Clearly, he wasn't trained. Mel scrolled through the information in her brain. Her parents, who were strong supporters of The Nocte ac Die Prophecy, taught her a lot about the prophecy and the twin half-demons.

Looking down at Alice, Mel suddenly understood. She's a twin, she thought. Obvious. Why didn't I notice before? After Jasper made contact with Alice, he received his power. He wouldn't be able to live among the humans for this long, blending in this easily, with a power all his life. Evidently, he only received his power recently. Presumably, Alice and Jasper were bonded. But a twin could only receive their power after making contact with all of their bondmates.

In conclusion, Mel had to be Alice's bondmate. There was no other way. It was the most logical explanation to why Alice acted like she did.

But if Mel was Alice's bondmate...

Suddenly, Mel felt a burning sensation in her gut, as if she was melting away in that very moment. She stiffened, while managing to just barely keep up her cool facade. Eventually, Mel stumbled from the pain, leaning against a tree.

"Delayed reaction," she muttered to herself. "Lovely."

Mel did the irrational thing of gripping her arm incredibly hard, attempting to take her focus away from the burning in her abdomen. Of course, it wasn't going to work.

As the burning finally started to ebb away, Mel limped towards the group just as Jasper said, “It’s time to go. Please get my jacket and Teddy Bear’s number for yourself. Also, I may need your help get Alice in the car. I am sober enough to get us home."

"Calm down," Mel intercepted, knowing what would happen if she allowed Jasper to leave. "She's fine for the moment." She paused for a moment, before continuing. "If you want to go home, do that, but nothing's seriously wrong with her." Technically, Mel was telling the truth.

She muttered quietly into Lolly's ear, "He's not leaving. Let's make sure of that."

Matthew had never been one to be entirely forward, or flirtatious for that matter. Of course, the boy had his small town charm but, there was just some part of him that Teddy brought out. What am I getting myself into... The thought ran across his mind, however Teddy quickly filled the silence. "I'd be happy to show you, not here though. Voyeurism isn't a kink of mine, not that I have performance issues." . This guy was really going for it, and Matthew wasn't sure how much longer he could keep up before he was reduced to a stuttering mass of a blushed face and red ears. He was practically a loss of words, as Teddy smoothly set down next to him on the log offering him a wink that Matthew found it quite hard to get out of his mind.

"So I was thinking...". Teddy casually placed a hand on his knee, causing Matthew's brain to go into immense recovery mode. He was so caught up in trying to play it off smoothly that he didn't even notice Teddy had gone silent. It was almost like he was just frozen in time. It was the first time Matthew felt like he was seeing, well, the real Teddy. Even though he was still looking at Matt, it was almost as if he wasn't entirely there. Long gone was the flirtatious and mysterious expressions but rather one that was innocent, unassuming. Matthew hadn't even noticed Teddy's hand had slipped off his knee, as he began to worry that there was something wrong. A seizure? Or some black out? Matthew's brows furrowed and he reached out cautiously to Teddy's arm but just as quickly as the trance had came, it was gone. He watched color flood into Teddy's cheeks, and a look of confusion pass by but only for a second before it was replaced with his lazy half-smile. It was the first time Matthew had seen the boy stumble. "Were you saying something? Sorry, you're pretty distracting, you know." Matthew opened his mouth to form the words, 'Are you okay?' but only got out a measly, "What?" before Teddy shot off the log in a flash at the sound of a loud thump.

All Matthew's unanswered questions for Teddy were dropped as he turned to watch Alice collapse to the ground. A(n) brotherly instinct washed over him and he quickly shot off the log and found himself at Alice's side next to Jasper. “It’s time to go. Please get my jacket and Teddy Bear’s number for yourself. Also, I may need your help get Alice in the car . I am sober enough to get us home,” Matthew felt himself nodding along with Jasper's comment. This was just too much crazy for one night. "Calm down," Mel's voice rang out, and Matthew noted how oddly calm she was, but raised an eyebrow at the pain she seemed to be in. What had he missed? His eyes trailed back to Teddy for a moment. God he really is distracting. "She's fine for the moment. If you want to go home, do that, but nothing's seriously wrong with her."

Matt gave Mel a quizzical look, not moving away from Alice. "She's fine? She just passed out, I think that's far from fine. Jasper's right, we're sorry for bothering you. I think it's best we just get Alice home". A sudden wave of protectiveness came over him. No matter how attractive Matt found Teddy, Alice was his best friend and they were just strangers. He stood abruptly, ready to gather their things, accidentally bumping into Eloise in the process. He took a few steps back to regain his footing, "I- I'm sorry. I just didn't see-".

Matthew had never heard such a horrible screeching in his life.

His sentence ended with a noise that almost sounded as if the breath had been taken away from him. It all happened so fast, that if you asked him to recall it, he'd be a loss for words. He clutched his ears and stumbling back into another vacant log, until he was able to regain his footing. The shrill screech increased in volume, his head feeling like it was going to practically explode. Suddenly a loud pop was heard all across the party, followed by the screams and shrieks of teenagers as they dropped their phones on the ground, all of them practically exploding.

Matthew took in a large gasp of air as the shrill scream in his ears, was replaced with a faint ringing. Looking back he wished that this would have been the end of him acquiring his powers, but unfortunately it was just the beginning. The air around Matthew seemed to pop and fizz with electricity, so much that he could taste the acidity of it on his tongue. He looked up at his friends, fear written all over his face. Matthew felt as if he had consumed one hundred energy drinks, and he knew this feeling couldn't be good. His body started to warm up, especially his hands and when he finally dared to peak he watched as blue, hot electricity danced across his palm and finger tips. By this time other partygoers started to notice the show that was going on, a few even had their phones out, the bright red recording light blinking, all pointed at him. "A-Alice? Jasper" His voice came out hoarse as if he'd lost it, laced with fear.

Suddenly sparks danced across his palm and struck an empty log, and the snack table with a loud crack, a few screams coming from the crowd. The electricity left a smoldering, black line across the log that was still smoking, and destroyed the snack table which was currently engulfed in flames. It took Matthew only a few moments to realize that he was going to hurt someone if he continued to stand there. He didn't even dare glance at his friends, not wanting to see the looks on their faces, before he bolted into the trees that surrounded the property.

He didn't know where he was going but eventually stopped running after he couldn't see the fire from the party anymore. By this time sparks were chaotically flying from his hands in all directions, his panic only seemed to make it worse. "Stop, stop, please stop" His voice rang out desperately as he shoved his palms face down in the mud.
