Introduction

Image
powerful Drakonian gods fought in the Mesozoic Wars for power and territory,
but a sorcerer named Balsafas looked down at the young world
from another dimension and saw the damage they created.

He believed that they would threaten not only all life on Earth,
but would eventually become a problem in other dimensions as well.

So he sealed the beast gods away with the Bonds of Forbidding.

Image

Then, in the event to be called the Cataclysm, a giant meteor struck the planet.

The meteor strike itself was enough to throw the world into chaos,
even causing the continents to reshape into a new supercontinent,
but the event also triggered the release of the Bonds of Forbidding.

Now roaming free once again, the eight gods rule over the human population.

In the one-thousand years since, radiation has caused the animals to evolve rapidly,
humanity has been thrown back into the stone age,
and the ancient gods battle over territory and worshipers,
each with their own agendas.

Avatars were chosen by each god, humans with a like-mind to their own,
to communicate their will and promote their worship and enforce their laws on their behalf.

Image

The gods have divided into two alliances: "Virtuous Beasts," and "Destructive Beasts." Still others remain neutral. But as they battle, a new threat is about to rise: Necrosan and his undead army. The beasts will have to put aside their differences for now to combat this enemy, or else face extinction.

This RP is based on arcade game and a book titled Primal Rage and Primal Rage: The Avatars. You do not need to be familiar with the content to join. I've provided all of the information that is needed. I did not read the book yet, but I gathered all the information on the world that I could find via wikis and other sources, and I like to be able to fill in the blanks myself anyway.

General Information about the Primal Rage World:

  • Since the meteor strike, the years have been counted as AC (After Cataclysm) as a replacement to the Gregorian calendar.
  • All technology that we take for granted in the modern work is no longer functional, and people do not know how to produce more of it.
  • The word "Earth" is now spelled "Urth." Other words might have other changed spelling, and people are not as literate in the post-Apocalyptic world.
  • The Urth now has one big supercontinent in the shape of a dinosaur breathing fire. Other lands may exist, but are currently unknown.
  • Slashfang was to appear in the sequel game that was never created. I don't know what his powers were, so I made stuff up.
  • Sauron is the most powerful of the gods. Although the games made him balanced with the others, I like the idea of him being a powerful loner that the others prefer not to mess with.
  • The gods become more powerful when they consume humans.
  • As mentioned, animals evolved due to the increased radiation in the atmosphere. Some have grown bigger, some have changed shape or learned new abilities. Some may even be almost comparable to the beast gods. Feel free to create whatever wild monsters you want.
  • The gods cannot speak English, which is why they require a human mouthpiece--an Avatar--to communicate their will. Avatars can be chosen through various means, depending on the nature of the god.
  • I couldn't fit all the information on one page, so I'm making profiles for each of the gods.
  • Chaos is the only god who did not exist before the Cataclysm.
  • If you don't like the portrayal of one of the beasts, don't worry. This set of pictures was the best quality I could find, but there are a few I don't like, specifically Talon's. I used them anyway for the sake of uniformity. If you prefer a god's original appearance, you can think of them having that look instead.

If you have any suggestions, I am open to ideas. I may be willing to make some changes before we launch. Most likely, before introducing Necrosan, we will begin by playing out the war currently being fought between the gods.

In this RP, each person will take one god and their Avatar as their character. After three days, another character can be claimed. Side-characters can also be created at your own choosing, and they do not have to belong to the same god character. For character profiles, just include information about the Avatar, as the gods personalities, desires, history, etc are already set, but you can get creative with your Avatars.

Please keep posts at a decent length. At the very least, they should be one or two solid paragraphs.

Re: Primal Rage: Battle for Urth

Diablo and Sauron are now claimed. This leaves Armadon, Chaos, Vertigo, and Slashfang.

You got it. I'll just need you to submit a character profile for Keena, Talon's avatar.

There is no template to use, so just cover the important stuff, including how she was selected as the avatar.

Re: Primal Rage: Battle for Urth

All of the gods have been given full profiles for reference. Pictures of the Avatars can be found on Google, if a reference is needed. I've already put a ton of hours into preparing this, though, so I'm not going to fish them out just this moment.

Of course, I will be playing Necrosan, and I will be taking one other. There are a few I'd be happy with, but I'll see what other people choose first. My first choices are probably Diablo and Sauron.
