Introduction

The Silhouette Institution

Welcome, Welcome students to the Silhouette Institution! This institution has been in use for over 100 Years! Oh, you haven't heard of us? Good, we would like to keep it that way. We are centered in the outskirts of France in an old church, very beautiful and ornate on the inside, and we take in students that we have been keeping a watchful eye on, having around 50 students in our care at one time. These students we take in and house hold some very odd abilities, and they train and learn to control them here. We have many things to offer here, and we hope you enjoy your time training with us!

Plot

Students come and go at this academy to train and meet others with similar abilities, after they leave the school, they go off to do great things, and even sometimes go on governmental missions. The students who do, are usually high up on the hierarchy. Students can go out into the city, but must be accompanied by one of The Superlative Students. Recently, the Institution has come under threat by a rebel group who has found out about the secrets these students hold. One night when a young girl snuck out, she was kidnapped and killed by one of the few rebels. Now that they are under threat, the training has increased, and so has the protection. (The Rebel character will be an undercover student in this role play at the beginning.)

The Student Hierarchy

Keep in mind during the role play, student can eventually move up the Hierarchy with my say.

The Superlative Students: The top students who control all of the student affairs, and mentor those of below status. They are the strongest and have the most control over their abilities.

The Medial Students: The middle class of the students, they have good control over their powers and have been in the academy for over a year.

The New Blood Students: Students who have been in the academy for under a year, still learning their powers as they are finally understanding. Often sometimes, one of the Superlative students will take one under their wing.

Adelina watched as Stephanos left the table. She felt for him, considering that he lost a lot of friends due to their expulsion. She also knew that she couldn't do anything about it. Maybe just to be there for him when times are tough, and she knows that Xavier will back her up too. Stephanos is strong, having him as an ally would definitely help. "Poor guy," She started "He seems so lonely and serious all the time." She said as he left the room. "Well, Xavier, I'm going to get going. I have stuff to do in order to prep for tomorrow. See ya around black thunder." Adelina winked at him and she left the room. He heard commotion happen a few hallways down. She was curious and decided to check out the scene. She looked carefully down the hallway and noticed a fight ensuing. Woah, this fight is getting pretty heated. She thought as she watched. This went on for a while before it all died down.

Adelina turned her attention to a room that was down the other hallway. She got closer and tried for the nob. She reached for the handle and tried to open it, Damn it, it's locked! She thought as she took a closer look at the door. Engraved on it it said Training room. Adeline had to check it out. She heated one of her hands hot enough to melt the door handle. Yes! It worked! She praised her self for a job well done. She peered inside and the room was huge. The room was dark, but as soon as you came closer there were lot candles lighting up a significant part of the room. "Oh man, this room is pretty sweet. How did I not find this sooner?" She thought out loud as she was amazed of how great the room was. She took off her biker jacket and threw it near her. She thought it'd be a great idea to get a bit of practice in before tomorrow. Adelina positioned herself in the center of the room and closed her eyes. She extended her arms out in front of her and casted a fire ball. A simple red flame that couldn't hurt anyone or anything not super human. Moments of fun she started getting this urge of going further. Activating the Orange fire, changing the intensity of the flame. The candles in the room seemed to react to that. She went one step further and activated the Yellow Fire. Adelina felt a great urge of energy and to go further. She felt stronger and stronger the more she was in this room. As if the room was giving her strength to go further. She moved the Yellow Fire around in the air giving the room a yellow glow. She made the fire dance beautifully. That is until she heard a noise. She quickly went back down to Red Fire as she saw a figure appear in the room. Oh no, I'm busted. She thought as this man approached into the room far enough so his face was exposed. "Sorry, I didn't mean any trouble I just got carried away in here. Am I in trouble?" She asked the man who didn't seem mad at all.

Alan Arnan was a teacher at the Silhouette Institute, a man of pride and dignity. Other teachers respected him, and some students feared him. He was a first-class pyromancer, or fire manipulator, and the heir to the God of Fire. He was also a tenth degree black belt/black sash in every martial art ever thought of on the planet Earth. He was one seriously bad dude. But, honestly, he was one of the nicest people you could meet.

Mr. Arnan, as his students called him, had sensed a presence in the Training Room. It was a female pyromancer, and she seemed overwhelmed with the room's special ability to adapt to the powers of its user. He approached the room, and she was instantly apologetic. Stepping more fully into the light, Alan smiled at her.
"Be sorry for the doorknob. You made me have to do this."

Grasping the handle, he provided enough heat to make it malleable, and put it back in its normal form.
"You have power, but you lack control. You're either a New Blood, or you're a more advanced student that hasn't been through one of my classes yet."
Alan clenched his fists, and white flame coated him in an aura, spreading over the entire room, but not burning a single thing.
"White flame is some of the hottest fire on this planet. However, I can create fire without heat, only light and shape."

The flames died down, and Alan turned to her.
"Since you came all this way, you want training, is that right? Are you ready to stop playing with fire before you get burned?"
He held up one finger and a red fireball the size of a marble appeared there.
"My most basic technique is the Flame Marble, so have a few."
He sent ten right at her with speed, testing her reflexes and control.

Olivia looked up as Atheya smiled at her, and started to say something hurriedly. “Oh! Sorry If I woke you, I tripped over Watson, I tried to be qui-“ Olivia chuckled mid sentence, shaking her head slightly. Between her guitar and Atheya's guitars, there were a lot of them in their room, and knocking one over was bound to happen once in awhile. She also tried to remember which of Atheya's guitars was Watson. She was about to reply by saying it's fine, it didn't disturb her. But, Atheya cut her sentence short and paused. "Hm, must be catching something on her mental radio," she thought. As Atheya slipped the list to Flynn and hurried out, Olivia's eyes trailed curiously after her. "I wonder what it was she heard."

Olivia was pulled out of her thoughts as a voice chimed in with an inquiry. "Is this seat taken?" she smiled at Zac and shook her head. "Of course not." She sidled over a bit to give him more room. She finished the remainder if her poptart and dusted a few crumbs off her fingers. Just then, she felt the island she was leaning on vibrating, and the ground beneath her started shaking. She glanced at Zac, alarmed for a moment. "Do you feel that?"

At first, she thought it could've been an earthquake, but quickly dismissed the idea. It was much more likely that a student caused this. Everyone had a variety of powers, so there were a lot of different things that could happen. The plates and cups clinked lightly as they shook. Then, after a few minutes, it stopped, and everything was still again. Soon after, Atheya walked back in and commanded everyone to the car.

"Well, that was interesting... What do you think that was?" After a pause, she quickly diverted her attention back from the curious incident to Zac. "So, do you have anything have anything exiting planned for today?" she asked, tilting her head.

Answering Zac's silly question, after all there were no chairs in the immediate vicinity, Olivia smiled at Zac and shook her head. "Of course not." She sidled over a bit to give him more room. Smiling widely, Zac approached the counter. He turned around so as to face away from the counter, and placed his hands at his sides, palms resting on the countertops. Pushing himself up, Zac maneuvered himself to sit on the edge, feet dangling below him. A she finished the remainder of her poptart breakfast, there passed between them a few lax moments of silence. Zac said nothing, for it was quite rude to offer conversation to someone who was unable to reply. The silence wasn't uncomfortable, far from it, it was nice to simply sit and observe, taking in the ambience of the room. Once Olivia had finished her breakfast, Zac turned to face her, so as to offer some form of small talk. However, before Zac could say anything, the island began to vibrate, and the ground shook. There was the sound of an explosion, but muffled, as if it were behind a few doors and around a few hallways. Olivia glanced at Zac, alarmed for a moment. "Do you feel that?" Zac nodded solemnly. "Mhmm, sounds like trouble," he replied.

Zac immediately dismissed the idea of an earthquake or other natural disaster. It was a beautiful day outside, they were on no known fault lines, and the school was much too far away from the ocean. It was much more likely that a student caused this. Everyone had a variety of powers, so there were a lot of different things that could happen, further, it was a Sunday, someone was probably restless. The plates and cups clinked lightly, the chairs and other furniture shook, dust fell from the ceiling as it shook itself off the rafters, but the school remained intact. For a kid, it was pretty impressive, but Zac just shook his head. He chuckled to himself adding softly under his breath, "If we were playing the 'let's smash up the school game,' I would have won a while ago." Then, after a few minutes, it stopped, and everything was still again. Soon after, Atheya walked back in and commanded everyone to the car. For those on their way into town, it was time to go.

Catching Zac's attention, Olivia spoke up. "Well, that was interesting... What do you think that was?" After a pause, she quickly diverted her attention back from the curious incident to Zac. Smiling, and laughing softly to himself, Zac replied, "Probably just a couple of kiddies playing around with their powers, lazy Sundays generally make kids here sleepy or restless. My guess is it's a competition of some sorts, friendly or otherwise." Apparently Olivia had already drawn her own conclusions, or simply didn't care about it anymore, because she changed the subject. "So, do you have anything have anything exciting planned for today?" she asked, tilting her head.

Zac smiled. Hamming it up, and acting quite silly, he replied. "Well, I had some big important superlative duties to take care of, but if a pretty girl like you needed my help with something, such as practice, homework, or the like, I bet I could get out of it." He laughed, the joke wasn't a good one, but it was more of a way to let her know he wasn't at all being serious. "Just kidding, who'd assign me to anything important? I've finished my homework already, so it looks like today is just a good day to relax. I might take a nap later, maybe have an enthusiastic walk about campus, I'm not yet entirely sure myself. However, I do believe that's quite enough about boring old me, what about you? Any plans, activities, errands? Perhaps you've an appointment with some other dashing young man? I'll try not to be jealous." Zac finished with a playful smirk. He liked Olivia, she was smart, funny, and being good friends/roommates with Atheya was more than enough reason to earn his respect.

Xavier simply watched Steph walk away from the table before glancing at Adelina once again, giving her a look as if to say 'it's hopeless.' Soon enough Adelina began to leave too, but why? Weren't they supposed to do something later? He began to wave as she turned to speak to him. "Well, Xavier, I'm going to get going. I have stuff to do in order to prep for tomorrow. See ya around black thunder."
Xavier smirked as she winked at him, calling after her as she began to walk off. "You cheeky Lil shit- You better meet me later!"
Before long she was gone, leaving him on the table on his own. He still hadn't eaten and was yet to have any coffee, and because of that, the side effects were starting to hit him. He yawned as he toyed with two spoons, causing them to attract then repel then attract again, making it seem as if they were dancing.
Then suddenly the spooons dropped. There was a rumble echoing throughout the institution, similar to an earthquake, causing Xavier to raise from his seat.
"The heck?" He questioned himself, expecting no answer. "Must be one of the new bloods that can cause earthquakes or something stupid like that...Or perhaps Scott's gotten himself into a fight?" He paused for a second, looking out the window. He then began to laugh to himself as he headed towards the courtyard. "Nah, not Scotty.

He needed to get out and let lose some static, despite his low energy level, he still had some to spare, and since the training rooms would be closed for now, he figured that the courtyard would be ideal. The continuous singing from various bird became apparent again, as the sun seemed to be much brighter now. He glanced at the angelic water fountain right in the middle of the courtyard, water spraying from the white figure's mouth as wings sprouted from it's back, a quote engraved at the base of the fountain reading "superpowers doesn't always make you a superhero." By now Xavier was sitting before the fountain, staring deeply into the engraved text.
Just what on Earth is that meant to mean? He pondered as static began to gather around his body, causing blue sparks to jump out from his body. To many that knew him well enough, this gave the impression that he was about to discharge, giving the signal to run, but in actual fact, Xavier was just charging himself up.

"Doesn't always make you a superhero eh? Now that's deep" He mumbled to himself as he got onto his feet once more, his eyes went from wooden brown to a tone of sapphire blue as high voltages of electricity gathered around his fists, creating a sound of wild sparks jumping from a faulty socket. He wasn't skilled in any kind of combat, but even so, he didn't really need to be. The high voltage that engulfed his body was plenty of self defence for him, as a simple touch could be deadly, so really all he needed to do was to be able to swing a fist, or a swift kick for that matter.

I've been focusing on technopathy for too long now, it's about time I let some sparks fly. He thought as he began punching an invisible target, each strike similar to lightning.

Plans for the day raced through the mutants' head. Experiment some more with what he was casually calling UltraViolet - or UV for short. A homemade chemical substance that would throw even the most in control mutant's powers out of whack. Call it a drug, UV was intended to enhance the mutated gene's energy output, and exponentially increase someone's powers for a few temporarily hours. Not to mention it could give quite heart pounding high ,with some questionable side-effects. Alas, he hadn't had time to tweak it formula...or...test it's latest batch since joining the Institute. It wasn't necessarily safe ,but with a campus full of test subjects, well - he just had to pick the right one. But first, he'd need to whip up more of the stuff in his free time.

However...

Ever get the feeling you're being watched?

That prickly skin, stomach prodding feeling?

Well Charlie currently had a decent case of it, yet an armful of books made being stealthy a little more difficult. He halted briefly in his strides, swiveled his head as he turned the corner and quirked a brow. But it wasn't quite in time to catch his nosy roommate before he slipped out of view. He must have been imagining that glimpse of unruly hair. It did however, confirm that something was off - even if he couldn't put his finger on it. Shaking his head visibly, he mumbled to himself. "Yeah, alright Charlie. You're paranoid.."
Lanky legs traversed the halls at a decent pace, faster than before. Why? Because it paid to be paranoid, sometimes. And if gut instinct taught him anything, then he'd rather be safe than sorry.

As he entered the hall that had the Chemistry Lab, he treaded quietly but pressed his back to the wall, out of sight. One of the books was tossed ahead of him, giving the illusion that he'd kept on going and had perhaps dropped one of his items. Pretending to tie his shoe, Charlie would wait for whoever to poke their little head around the corner and if he thought the culprit deserved it, they'd earn a nice, firm punch to the gut --- gender withstanding.

Such suck. So wow. Much writer's block. Doge.

The man introduced himself as one of the teachers at the institute. Adelina was relieved that the teacher had a sense of humor considering that she broke the handle. She thought is was pretty sweet how he used his power to make the metal malleable enough to fix. "Yeah Thanks for not being mad at me for that. I was just really compelled to enter you know? Like it was calling my name." She explained as he looked at her with wonder. She began to wonder what he was going to do, since suddenly he brought out white fire. Her anxiety sky rocketed. She was nervous.

That asked for a good five minutes, Adelina was impressed at how well he could control his fire abilities. He then offered to mentor her and that got her thrilled. She nodded as he showed a tiny red ball of fire on the tip of his finger. She watched amazed as he continued to explain that she lacked power, and this technique is his most basic. He suddenly threw ten fire balls at her. She panicked. Was this a test? As the first few began to approached, she used her ability to take control of the first few and put them out. She took those out with ease, but the others got faster and harder to Dodge. She got through nine and the last ball ended up hitting her in the face. She let out a small squeal as it burned a little. Mr. Arnan approached her. "Hey that was fun," she said. "That last one though caught be off guard". She admitted.

Alan watched, interested in how this student would react to the test. Using her power, she put out three of them, which wasn't surprising, since she already had a competent grasp of red fire. She seemed to adjust, getting all but the last one. Even advanced students had trouble with his Flame Marbles, since they could literally travel at the speed of light if he wanted them to. Ten of these things traveling at basic speed could overwhelm even a Superlative. Given she was a pyromancer, he had gone easy on her, as twenty for her would have been comparable to ten with anybody else.

She said it was fun, and that elicited a smile from him.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm also happy to see that you're serious about bettering yourself. That will take you far if you find the right mentor."
He extended his hand.
"As the senior pyromancer, I would be happy to tutor you in the art of the flame."

Taking the list for the final time, she scanned it over quickly as Flynn asked the others if Chandler could come. She was sure the two would really be fine with it. Letting out a yawn, she folded the paper and slipped it into her Cape Jackets pocket. Grabbing Flynns hand, she spoke to the three “Let’s go~” and began trailing Flynn along behind her, Bobby and Lacy in tow.

Stopping at the large front entrance of the school, she always found herself a little captivated with it, almost forgetting a lot of the time the space used to be an old church. The walls where engraved with beautiful shapes, stain glass windows shoe brilliant colors, and where placed near the peak of the extremely large ceiling. The floors marble slabs that looked almost like they were melting. She had drawn this space many times, different parts and areas. Most of the sketching she had hung in her room, where in fact of the building itself. She often went exploring into every nook and cranny of the school, finding new and cools things.

Glancing around, she spotted the person who often kept guarding the doors; he was behind a desk twiddling with a pen. Letting go of Flynns hand that she had dragged him along with, she went up to the man, his name she knew well because it wasn’t unusual for her to leave the premises a lot. “Morning, Jay.” She said, continuing on. “We’re low on food, so I need to pick some up, could I have to keys to the car?” She asked with a smile. The Institute had a couple of cars itself, and Superlatives among others where the only ones allowed using them, so long as they asked of course. Jay finally spoke after rummaging through one of the drawers, and pulled out a set of keys, handing them to her. “Mornin’ Atheya. Here you are, just need you guys to sign out before as well.” Grabbing the keys, she slipped it into the pocket, and wrote down everyone’s names on a little sheet, before walking out the door, calling back to jay, “I’ll pick you up the usual coffee.”

Making her way to the car that she found herself most often using, she waited for everyone to pile in before moving over and sitting in the driver’s seat.

Switching on the car, she quickly went and pulled out of the parking lot, and began moving down the road. She often didn’t walk in cars, finding it best to focus solely on her driving. If her mind was to get distracted, it wouldn’t turn out very well. The drive to the store she often went to wasn’t very long, maybe around ten minutes or so if traffic was alright.

About five minutes into driving, She felt herself swerving the car a bit, and shook her head trying to perk herself up, her tiredness seeming to get in the way a bit. “Sorry, sorry!” She said, straightening out her driving just a bit more. I need to find someway to get to sleep at night She thought to herself. She felt herself getting worse a lot of the time. Not only that, but her health was dropping a bit of it as well. Her headaches increased, and it wasn't unusual for her to get fevers. Wouldn't surprise her if she had one now. But, she was stubborn. She refused to give in, and to rest. She always felt she needed to push herself, she felt that in order to get control of whatever it was that she needed to get in control of, rest was not the answer.

Pulling into the small lot of the store, she got it as close to the front of the door. Switching off the car, she said to them “We should make this a little bit of a quick trip,” Before opening her door, and walking out, and making her way into the bright and stocked store. Smiling at the woman she was so familiar with behind the counter, she walked up to her, giving a friendly "Bonjour!" The dainty woman behind the counter was the store owner, and more often then times when Atheya come in, she was the only one working. Most of the time on Atheyas spare days, she came down here to lend a hand on some things.

The lady, names Penelope, smiled at her, giving back a equally delighted, "Bonjour." But as quickly as that happy tone came, a mother tone laced her voice as she asked, "Vous sentez-vous malade? Vous avez l'air un peu pâle." Which meant, Are you feeling sick? You look a little pale. Atheya shook her head, and said "Non, non. Je vais bien, ne vous inquiétez pas." Simply saying that she need not worry, and she was fine. It was a good asset to be able to speak french. It didn't hurt either that she had a spare in place of the French class the students at the Institute had to take. Giving a wave of her hand in goodbye, she began going up and down the isles, finding the things she needed to get.

"Let's go" Atheya spoke, and before Flynn could process the words, his hand was yanked and suddenly he was flying; well it felt like it. For a little lady, 'Theya sure did have a strong grip. He felt his cheeks redden slightly, but it was from the heat... yes, the heat, that's what it was. Theya let Flynn out of her grasp, and Chandler floated over almost instantly.

Stupid, mortal boy. Stupid? The word caught him off guard, sent him stumbling back a few steps to avoid Chandler. Stupid? Stubborn, yes. Angry, yes. But Stupid? That one was especially new. He frowned at the shadow.

How so? Flynn asked, head cocked to one side.

To that, the shadow just gave out a short, throaty chuckle. He shook his head, the tattered garment moving with him, creating a blur of black cloth.

You'll see. Chandler replied. You'll see? How cryptic. Although it was no use trying to be all-knowing when you sounde exactly like a crocodile wrangler. After Theya got the keys, the four entered the car.

The French countryside was notorious for bad roads, and the roads that snaked from Silhouette to the nearest towns were a nightmare to drive on. He knew this personally, as he had his own car- a rickety old Ford that was bad enough on it's own without potholes big enough to house a small family in their Tarmac depths. Today was especially bad somehow, and his stomach lurched with every bump they rode over. At some point, Theya nearly fell asleep at the wheel- though common sense woke her up. She really needs to stop pushing herself. Push too hard and everything will break. He gave her a slight worried look before they came to a stop as they arrived at the little store.

“We should make this a little bit of a quick trip" He heard Atheya say as she turned off the car and made her way into the store. Inside, It was colorful, but pleasantly so. Bouquets of flowers lay on a display at the door, filling the whole store with a hint of sweetness that lingered throughout every isle.

He heard words spoken in French. You'd think after six years spent at Silhouette, Flynn would be able to speak French. He does, a little, actually but his accent makes it much harder for the soft and lilting French words to come out of his mouth right. From what he picked up, it was something about illness. Very... light topic. He thought to himself just as Atheya walked near, checking out some products.

"You alright?" He asked her, worry spreading across the boy's features. "You were up awfully early today- and you nearly fell asleep at the wheel"

Deciding to help, Flynn also added "I'll do some of the
shopping if you want... can I see the list?"

The moment Mr. Arnan said he'd loved to tutor her, Adelina jumped for joy that she released one of those small balls of fire from her fingers and it nearly hit Mr. Arnan. "Oh my gosh I am so sorry!" She apologized in hopes that he wouldn't change his mind about tutoring her. To her surprise though, he didn't look mad at all. He actually looked impressed that Adelina could pull off and perform his technique so quickly. "Oh, I must say this now, I am very observant so I am able to learn quicker than others." She admitted. He didn't look too convinced by the way he was looking at her. "You don't believe me? Okay, well then with the next session I will show you!" She promised him, showing how determined she was to learn from him. It didn't help that he was easy on the eyes, and if spending time with him is what he wants, then spending time with him she will do. "I am so happy that you are teaching me, but I must insist that you don't favor me in anyway from others. I do have you for class and I wouldn't feel comfortable being "that" guy" She said as she went to pick up her jacket. "I would be happier if you gave me the harder assignments in class. That way I know that you're trying to push me to succeed!" She smiled at him. "Thanks Mr. Arnan. This means a lot to me. But I must go meet a friend of mine soon. Thanks again for not being mad about the door!" With that she was off.

Walking down the hallway she pulled her phone out. She pressed on Xaviers name and texted him. Hey Black Lighting. I'm ready to hang out. I'll meet you in the commons. She finished texting the guy as she made a turn down the chemistry hallway. She kept walking as she noticed a book on the floor. She went to pick it up. Huh? Somebody must have dropped it. I'll go return it quick. She thought as she carried the book with her. She started walking again and suddenly saw this hand jab at her, and reacting quickly she used the new technique she learned from Mr. Arnan and shot one fireball at the hand. Giving the mysterious hand a good hit, but also burning the book. "What the hell man? Look what you made me do!" She said pointing to the pile of ash sitting there. "You're paying for that," She said as she turned to the person that attacked her. She took a good look and saw that it was Charlie. "Charlie? I'm sorry for burning you, but why the hell did you attack me?" She asked as Charlie was looking at his hand. She began to get impatient with the silence as he would not look at her. That's when she went in and grabbed him by the shirt. "Listen, you do that again and we will have a serious problem next time," She warned. "Now I would stick around but I've got places to be, people to see. Watch yourself big guy." She said as she let go of him and stormed off away from his view.

As far as adventures go, this one hasn't disappointed. When they told her France was glorious, so many years ago, she'd imagined a plethora of beautiful buildings, enchanting people and fine foods. Despite her vivid daydreams, reality brought with it a magic that her own childish mind never suspected. (From the height of four and a half feet, everything seems grand.) Here, cheeks are flushed with delight and eyelashes flutter, desperate not to miss a single moment. She wished she could suspend every single clock for long enough to capture this fine world, but for now she is stuck with a steadfast amount of time, quickly running out. For each marvel she is more than grateful - She has chosen this fate over dying slowly in her own bed, and enjoy enjoy it she must. The others frown, and she pities them.

Naturally, she is quiet. The occasions in which she keeps company usually leave her with little to say other than the facts that pour from her lips when she is nervous. This morning, she made myself a promise that at breakfast she would test her own bravery. "If it wasn't for cell death in the embryonic stage of development, humans would have webbed fingers," She blurts, and then clamps her hands over her mouth with surprising force.

It takes her a long moment to recollect herself. Finally, she clambers up onto a table, regains her balance, and promises herself that she can do it. "Hi... everybody," She says, wondering how the girl who clambered fearlessly into the highest branches of a tree despite her brittle bones could quiver so easily under the gaze of her students. "My name is Ms Layla- I'm the English teacher- and I think, if you want, maybe... we could just take a moment to wish?" She stumbles on her own words, ever so aware of her tiny posture. Just the other day, a student told her she wasn't aloud in the teachers lounge before realising that she was actually a teacher. She brings out her notepad, her pen, and the empty jar labelled 'wishes'.

"I'd like it very much if you could all make one - before we start- I want to know that everyone is hoping for something." She blinks, surprised at herself, and jumps quickly down from the table, passing the jar.

Xavier stood in his boxing stance for a few minutes, cooling down from the short but intense energy burst. He was breathing heavily, with each exhale, sparks flew from his fists as the static gathered around his body, began to die down. His phone vibrated in his pocket, creating a tickling sensation on his thigh. He shook his hands, as if he was drying them without a towel, causing the remaining electrons to disburse.

"Who's that text from?" Xavier questioned as if someone was there with him.
'Adelina, she said to meet her in the commons. I never knew you had a date.'
Xavier stuttered a little, before heading towards the kitchen to see if the food had been topped up. "Who said that it was a date? Jesus, you guys assume too much."
'Ah, denial I see? Just wait until Laptop hears about this.'

Xavier had returned to the kitchen, but it was still rather empty, which meant one thing, there was still no coffee. He grunted as he took a seat on the wooden chair at the table, placing his phone in front of him.
"Listen mate, if this was a date, do you honestly think I'd be this calm right now? We are just friends, now shut up and reply to her for me." He glared at his phone, as if he was intimidating it.
'Alright alright.. What do you want me to send?'
"I don't know, you're the genius, you think of something." He whispered, as Ms layla climbed onto the table. He didn't like people watching him while he spoke to technology, it made him feel weird and slightly insecure. Stuffing his mobile into his pocket, he glanced at Ms Layla as she stood 'tall'.
Just what does she think she's doing...
Meanwhile his phone constructed a reply to Adelina. 'Sure thing baby, can't wait to see your fine ass again xx'

"My name is Ms Layla- I'm the English teacher- and I think, if you want, maybe... we could just take a moment to wish?" She stumbled over her words, which was unusual for her. But then again, she wasn't the tallest of people, and she was standing on top of a table, something he would expect from a newblood. And yet she still seemed jolly.
Xavier admired her personality, she was one who was faced with many issues and problems, and despite students often exploiting her weaknesses, she still managed to keep a smile on her face. And a great smile it was.
He watched her, bemused, as she passed a jar around.

"You want me to make a wish?" He looked at her with a bright smile, grasping the pen and her notepad. "Sure thing Miss."
He took a short while to think about what he truly would want- perhaps a new phone? A girlfriend? Or to just be..Normal? He looked down at the notepad, thinking back to the quote, then he thought about all the people that he had hurt during his past. Scribbling the pen across the notepad, Xavier made his wish.
"Here you go Miss, and good morning to you." He returned the equipment with a smile.

After her confrontation with the new teacher, and getting assaulted by Charlie, she hoped the rest of her day would go better. It was nearly 5 in the afternoon, and the night was still young. Hopefully hanging out with Xavier later would help clear her mind. She decided to take a shortcut by cutting through the outside garden when she realized her phone buzzed. She went for it, and as she was reading it she could not believe what she was reading. What the hell Xavier? she thought as she closed her phone. A slight blush ran her face, but it disappeared as quick as it showed up. What is that boy thinking, sending me shit like that? Does he like me? She pondered as she passed the kitchen windows. She looked to see who was in there, and for the most part the kitchen looked empty. However over by the coffee machines, Xavier stood with another woman. What is wrong with you boy? Sending me text like that, and there you are flirting with another woman? She got pretty agitated from seeing that, and reached for her phone. Adelina was this close to cancelling, but she got another idea. She'd thought it be better if she messed with him a little later. Ha, this is going to be really fun. She walked back inside and headed for the kitchen.

Adelina reached for the kitchen as the woman was waiting on something. Xavier gave her a piece of paper. Probably exchanging numbers. She reached them both, and was wondering why she was standing on the table. "Hey Xavier, so is this?" She asked as the woman introduced herself as Ms. Layla, and that she was one of the English teachers. She didn't look like one that's for sure. She had to be half the size of Adelina. She offered her to make a wish."A wish? What's this about?" She asked her looking skeptical.

Alan dodged as an orange Flame Marble type fireball went past him.
"It's okay. Just realize that emotions control your power to a large extent."
It was not bad that she could duplicate his technique, even if it was much weaker and entirely by accident.
"Don't be too humble now," Alan replied to her assertion that she could learn faster than other.
He thought she was a bit too boastful, but he liked her 'can-do' spirit.

Alan rubbed his neck, a bit uncomfortable that she was already trying to be his 'teacher's pet'.
"You'll get whatever work I feel you're ready for. I won't favor you, but I won't push you too hard, either. I will give you extra lessons, though, as fire powers can be volatile. I'll be in touch."
She then left to meet a friend, and Alan locked the door behind him before heading off to his office to get lesson plans underway for tomorrow's classes.

Theya glanced up from scanning the different types of cereals to look in the face of a slightly concerned Flynn. “Oh, I’m fine!” She tried to say at least the tiniest bit reassuringly. “I just uhm... don’t get a lot of sleep. “ She admitted, turning her head away as she yawned once more. “Please, don’t worry.” She smiled, passing the list over to him. “But maybe you should drive us home.” She laughed, saying it in a sort of joking matter, but being completely serious at the same time. “I’ve got to run across the street to the cafe, promised Jay that coffee. I’ll be right back.” She stated, running out the welcoming doors of the store.

Cold wind brushed her fair skin as soon as she stepped into the cool surroundings. She waited a second for cars to pass by, before crossing the street to a five store cul-de-sac area. Making her way to the usual café she enjoyed going to, she stopped, noticing the new store that seemed to had just moved in beside. A music store; her favorite type of store. "I guess I have a little time to peek in." She thought to herself, knowing completely that there was a %99.99 she would get distracted and take longer than expected. But hey, a girl could hope. Opening up the glass pained doors, she heard a small jingle of a bell used to signal a customer came in. Smiling at the man behind the counter, most likely in his twenties or so, she gave a polite, “Bonjour,” before making her way to the walls lined up with guitars.

Atheya had always been a big music enthusiast. Her father had taught her at the very young age this soulful way to express herself. She had been singing since the ripe age of five, of course back then she didn’t sound exactly the way she does now. She had picked up Piano at eight, and guitar at nine. She had been to many festivals and concerts on end, even having specific memories of each that she cherished; going as far as to have mementos from lots of them, whether it be a tee shirt, or a flower plucked from a ground, stuck in a frame. That seemed to be the only thing that stuck with her throughout her foster homes. Well, that, and her extensive fighting training she put herself through.

A she scanned her eyes across the many guitars that hung against the wall; a single one caught her eye. “Oh no.” She mumbled to herself, as she moved it off the wall hanger to hold it. Sitting down on a chair, she balanced it in a proper way, and strummed a few cords. The sound rang in her head. Not only did it have a unique design, but almost a unique sound. It sounded a bit longing, one that would hook at your heart, and tug at it in a way you would feel it.

"Oh god, I already have a name for it." She scolded herself in her thoughts.

Well, there was no doubt that she wasn’t going to take it. Sitting up, she went over to a shelf, and grabbed a new strap for it, not really caring if it matched too much or not. She honestly at this point didn’t even care what it cost. Setting it down with gentleness of the counter, the cashier rung it through quickly, and she was out the door in around three minutes, the guitar strapped across herself on her back.

"Now for the coffee." She thought, making her way around the corner to the café. Waiting in line, she suddenly felt bad. She didn’t mean to stick Flynn and the others on the shopping, and wished she would get back in time to at least be able to do something more. Once it was her turn, she as quickly as she could ordered coffee, and even got a bag full of pastries and stuff to set on the kitchen counter for a free- for- all take.

Rushing quickly back over to the grocery store, she opened the door, almost dropping the coffee and bag in her hands. The smell of the roses beside flew up into her face in a familiar scent. “Sorry. I was weak.” She said, giving an awkward laugh to the others, pointing to the new instrument on her back. “We ready for checkout?”

"Well, I had some big important superlative duties to take care of, but if a pretty girl like you needed my help with something, such as practice, homework, or the like, I bet I could get out of it." Olivia laughed along with him, and smiled. "Well, I would be very flattered." "Just kidding, who'd assign me to anything important? I've finished my homework already, so it looks like today is just a good day to relax. I might take a nap later, maybe have an enthusiastic walk about campus, I'm not yet entirely sure myself. However, I do believe that's quite enough about boring old me, what about you? Any plans, activities, errands? Perhaps you've an appointment with some other dashing young man? I'll try not to be jealous." This elicited another laugh from Olivia and she leaned her head closer to the counter as she did so.

"Haha, the only dashing young man I have an appointment with is my guitar. I was thinking of practicing a little since I have some spare time." She then remembered the homework she procrastinated on last night, and groaned. "And I just remembered I also have to finish my homework for tomorrow." She pushed herself away from the counter and pointed in the direction of the dorm rooms. "I'll have to get working on that, I'll see you later~"

With a small wave, Olivia left Zac and the kitchen to head upstairs. She entered her room and looked at the unfinished homework on her desk. Grabbing her iPod, she put in her earphones and turned on the music. She picked up her pencil and started scribbling away as the melody of 'Sweater Weather' blasted in her ears.

Scott had spent the next few hours in recovery. He was no longer short of breath, and his arm felt fine. He hadn't seen Xavier for awhile, so he had to assume he was tied up doing something else. The water Atheya had given him had worked wonders, and he had to remember to ask her about it the next time he saw her. After grabbing something to eat, he looked out of his window and watched as the sun sank below the horizon. After a while, it was time to get some sleep, and he went to bed, excited to start his first day of classes the next morning.

"Adelina!" Xavier turned around to face her quickly, he reached for her hand as she seemed pretty annoyed at him. "I apologise for not meeting you, I got distracted by this wish list!" He stuttered a little as he noticed he was holding her hand. In an act of slight embarrassment, Xavier chuckled to himself as he released her hand, shuffling about rather awkwardly before gathing himself together again.

"I've just remembered that I've got a project to finish, I promise, We'll hang out soon okay?" He smiled reluctantly. He hated letting people down, especially his best friend. She had always been there for him when he needed her and he had a lot to thank her for. Despite this only being a little issue, it would still have quite an impact on their friendship, they never missed out on hanging together on Sunday's, it was their thing. But nevertheless, he had let her down.

He left the kitchen in a hurry, trying his best not to remember what had just happened. He made his way towards his dorm room, resting on the door as it eased shut. He inhaled deeply, then exhaled.
"Okay Laptop, let's get to work."
His laptop slowly opened by itself, the blue hue escaping it's screen once more as it yawned a greeting.
"Back so soon? What's the matter with you? You look awful.
"Don't worry about it, let's just get this project done shall we? I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a busy day."
"Understood."

He looked over at Scott's side of the room, he was slouched under the sheets as he seemed worn out from doing something, perhaps he had another training session, he was always pushing himself. Xavier lowered his voice, as he worked away in silence. Before long it was dark, Scott never bothered him as he was respectful at the fact that Xavier was busy working.
Xavier figured that he should get some sleep too, shutting his laptop after saving his project. He released a quiet yawn before entering the bed.

"Good night Scotty." He knew that Scott was asleep, but he always wished him a good night regardless. Before he knew it, Xavier was asleep also.

Apparently, Atheya was fine. Flynn wasn't so sure. In her eyes was a flicker of tiredness that was apparent to him. In fact, it probably would have been apparent to anyone with a good eye. It was just in her personality, constantly pushing herself to make everyone else happy.

"If you say so" The boy said with an almost sarcastic undertone to his voice "But don't think I won't be checking up on you" He added as she sauntered away to get someone who's name he did not recognise a coffee. He was about to ask her if he could add in on the order, but she had already slipped out the doors of the shop and in to the town.

Childlike wonder filled his eyes as he passed the confectionery isle, watching the glazed sweets with glazed over eyes to match. he had always had sweet tooth, ever since the early days when a piece of sour lemon candy was his favourite treat after school. (Oh, how hard it was to be five.)

Picking up a bag of decent-looking lemon candy, he took a look at the list, which seemed to grow in size before his very eyes. He decided to start with his own needs. You always need a place to start, anyway, or else nothing will happen. And he's slightly selfish.

Everything basic was needed of course, and this started with a two litre bottle of water, followed by the completely needed assortment of lemonades- he noticed one or two new flavours and decided that he would definitely need them. after this, he made his way to the fruit section of the particularly large store , and stocked up on a few satsumas, avocados, and a yam, just because. This was followed by a monster pack of Doritos, guacamole, and some spices and shit. Being the child that he was, Flynn was slowly but surely over-indulging.

"Wow, Flynn, you've outdone yourself. Was all that sugar really called for?" He asked himself "Yes Flynn, you sure do need all that sugar ... It's ... now been proven to be heathy." He paused and shook his head , giving a slight laugh "I really am a crazy bastard" Flynn muttered to himself, as he started attending to the others' lists.

The store was deathly silent. The lady, Penelope, had left to attend to some flying horses- or at least that is what Flynn heard in in his broken French- broken, actually, being a understatement. Shattered in to a thousand pieces of words, glued up again, and left to age in an attic for five years. The only sound to be heard in the store was the distant sound of the marketplace and the shuffling of his own feet.

Desperate to fill the void, he started humming quietly, the sound gradually building up until lyrics came out of the boy's mouth. He was singing a song he had long since forgotten.

"I remember when,
I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place
Even your emotions have an echo in so much space..."

When he was younger, Flynn felt pretty damn good when he sang. While singing, he felt free and it came almost effortlessly. Nowadays though, he still feels free and relaxed, but now that Flynn is familiar with how he actually sounds, he never feels like anything's effortless anymore. It has become commonplace for him to scrunch his face while trying to hit high notes.

"And when you're out there
Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much".

He was getting into it, and he was now tapping his fingers on the sides of the shelves, and resisting the urge to sing the song full volume, keeping it at a safe, low tone.

"Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
probably..."

His impromptu glee number ended when Atheya walked in the store- Atheya complete with a new guitar. Embarrassment crossed his face, but cleared in a flash. As much as he loved singing, he didn't particularly care in having an audience while doing so. Explaining that she couldn't help herself for buying the new guitar, Flynn gave a slight laugh while replying with "Not another one."

"We ready for checkout?" She asked, and the boy replied with a nod, putting all the many things on the counter. He wasn't sure was worried about- the school could pay the groceries for a small country probably, but it was his instinct. He paid the said amount of euros, and the students went back into the car, barely fitting the massive amount of groceries in the small thing.

"I'm going to drive- for safety. You know what they say, 'tiredness kills" suddenly realising it, he added "We'll, that was a bit morbid, but you get the drift"

After a particularly uneventful drive, they arrived back at the academy. By this time, it was about midday, and the sun was set high in the sky, beating down on him and setting the world ablaze.

Arriving inside, he noticed the number of people dawdling around the cafeteria was much more sparse than when he left.

"I'm gonna go." He said, pointing in the general direction of his future being. "See you tomorrow"

And with that, he was gone.

The day started slow, and moved as fast as the sun overhead - even though it was not the sun that was moving, it's everyone. Humans are such a selfish race, stopping for nothing and no one except for themselves. But even then, when they try to slow down time and take a breather, no one else wants to. No one wants to be the one slowing down the universe, yet no one wants to be the one to speed it up. And he has to admit, he's not the person to do so. Flynn is the person who suffocates themselves but doesn't kill themselves, the one who smiles but shows no teeth. And he's just waiting for something to happen, turn his world upside-down. He is scared, though, because he doesn't want to crack his head open in the process.

After a lazy Sunday in his room spent singing and doing yoga (He was bored okay, no judgement.) he realised the sun had finally set, and in the boy's mind, it was time to go to sleep. And he did.

Before Adelina knew it Xavier grabbed her hand, and felt a slight spark which as odd. He then began to stutter at the realization of him holding her hand. That got her in a good mood, but nevertheless what came next was quite a shock. He had to go and cancel their plans. Plans that were planned last week Monday. Xavier said he had to go work on a last minute paper thing, and left. Adelina was shocked an a bit annoyed that he cancelled but he look truly sorry so she let it go. One quick look at the teacher that read Stay away from him and left for her room. It was getting late anyway. She wondered if she would see Jane in their room. Come to think about it, Adelina never really had a full conversation with her. No matter. Adelina was tired and she was gonna go to bed. Hopefully tomorrow's lesson is a great one. She cannot wait for Fire lesson, they are going to be awesome.

Atheya just gave a small laugh and nod to Flynns words, more or less becoming more tired by the second. As they proceeded to the checkout, she spoke her french and it was as quick of a transaction as she hoped.

Climbing into the cars front passenger seat, she moved her guitar so it rested on her lap. Her head was tilted side ways, her forehead resting against the cool glass of the window, her eyes resting closed. She wasn't asleep of course, as it probably did seem, but she was really just day dreaming in her head, which she found herself doing a lot more of lately. Most of her day dreams consisted of what she expected to happen the next day, or of books she had read before. She sometimes oddly day dreamed of herself actually sleeping. Those where often her favorite amongst the bunch. But as of right now, she was stuck creating boring scenarios of what was to come tomorrow in her classes. It was always unexpected, but one thing she knew was the in her morning Superlative class they where discussing the school years opening ball. Despite being a superlative student, she had never been to one herself. She was only there for a year, and decided last year in her less than mature new blood stature, that the stereotypical themed "Starry night" Ball wasn't really something she had wanted to partake in. But this year was different. She really had to partake at this point.

Snapping out of it as she felt the car come to a rumbling stop, her eyes fluttered open, and she stepped out of the car, and walked back into the building she resided in.

Strolling by to Jay's desk, she handed him his coffee, and she signed back in before making her way, grocery bags in hand, to the now starving children flock. Setting everything down, she smiled back at Fynn, saying "Alright, I'll see you later, and thanks for the help."

After putting the various food items to their designated spots within the cupboards and fridges, she slugged herself back up the stairs, and through her dorm, where her eyes landed on a music blasting, studying Olivia. She didn't really want to disturb the girl so she just set down her coat, and walked out, making her way to one of the student like lounges that was placed in between the halls of the boys and girls dorms. This particular one was barley ever used, considering it was just filled with couches and art on the walls, no stereo or television, or anything really. Sitting down on one of the black comfortable couches, she held onto her new guitar, which she had decided to name Spiridion, and simply just began playing the acoustic version of We Used To Wait, and sang along.

In little to no time at all, Atheya's lack of sleep and tiredness of the day caught up to her, and she fell asleep quickly on the couch, the guitar still resting on top of her.

After nearly getting caught by Charlie, Stephanos had enough excitement for the day. He headed back to the kitchen and noticed a s light restock in the kitchen. I guess someone went shopping after all. He browsed through the cabinets and found nothing to eat. He looked through the refrigerators and still found nothing that met his needs. "Wow, whoever went shopping this time sucks." He said to himself with a slight irritated tone. He went to the fruit basket and got himself a pineapple to bring back to his room. He shopped it up first and put it in a small bowl. He headed for his room thinking about Charlie and how mysterious he was acting earlier. I'll catch on to you soon Charlie-boy. He thought as he was entering his room. Plopped down on his bed and began doing some glass research with the help of the books he check out later.

That lasted about three hours of full research and Stephanos had enough. He finished with his pineapple and set it on his desk beside him. "Where are you, you little shit?" He asked out loud as it was midnight and charlie was not in bed yet. Of course Stephanos wasn't either, but he was at least in his room. "Well, where ever you are, don't cause any trouble. I don't want to deal with that right now." He said once more before he shut the main lights to his room, shut the blinds and changed for bed. Tomorrow will be a new day.

Scott rose early the next morning to get ready for class. After showering and changing into his clothes, he turned to his roommate.
"I'll see you later, Zavi. Try not to have too much fun without me."
He chuckled and grabbed the books he would need for his first class of the day, World History & Society Class 101 with Mr. Wilson. He then exited the dorm room and was on his way to the main building.

Scott was one of the first to reach the classroom. He took a seat at a desk in the middle of the room. He could hear others in the back whispering stuff.
"Hey, that's him. The guy that defeated Shell-Shock."
"Yeah, his name's Scott, right?"

Scott smiled to himself. It was nice to hear people talking about him with respect and reverence instead of scorn and ridicule. Making friends here had been more difficult than he had expected, and had caused him to be more withdrawn than he otherwise would have been. Of course, just because he had beaten one bully did not mean his problems were over. Mike and Rocky still had a score to settle with him, and others, either to bully him or test themselves against him, would soon be gunning for his head. In order to stay prepared for that, he had to work out and stay at the top of his game.

Mr. Arnan was soon in his classroom, preparing for lessons at his desk. He taught Self-Defense to all ranks, and ran the Battle Class when it was his shift. Other classes on his roster was the 103 class in both Power Control and Power Expansion and Understanding. Because of this, he often worked with Superlative students, only seeing the lower ranks for Self Defense and Battle Class. Even so, it was still a decent schedule, and he was glad to do his part. Other teachers were excited to start their lessons today, and Alan was interested in seeing what a new set of New Bloods would bring to the table, as well as how good some of his previous students had gotten over break.

Olivia smiled. Laughing, she spoke. Zac smiled back, glad that she took his little jibes light-heartedly. Flirting was so tedious. "The only dashing young man I have an appointment with is my guitar. I was thinking of practicing a little since I have some spare time." She then seemed to remember something, and groaned; disappointed. "I just remembered I also have to finish my homework for tomorrow." Zac frowned sympathetically. School here was rough. After all, it was somewhat of a superhero breeding ground. You had to be polite, in control, and, above all, smart. Zac had heard of what the Silhouette Alumni were up to. He didn't want any part of it. While he respected that his momentous power held similarly huge responsibilities, he wasn't that self-righteous. Returning his attention to Olivia, Zac casually lifted his hand, setting it gently on his friend's shoulder; a gesture of reassurance. He spoke, smiling softly. "School does, after all, come first. You should take care of business while you can. While I dislike the whole worker bee thing they have us doing, it is good stuff to know." Resigned, Olivia pushed herself away from the counter and pointed in the direction of the dorm rooms. "I'll have to get working on that, I'll see you later~" Zac smiled, waving as she left. "See ya!" He said, simply.

After his conversation partner left. Zac jut kinda relaxed. He wasn't lying when he said that he'd finished his homework; he'd really finished it. Zac literally had nothing else to get done today. Despite all his peacocking and general silliness, Zac was an astute student, if only to keep the teachers off of his back. While he was, by no means a straight A student, Zac's GPA was respectable. However, Zac's general courses were all but done. Further, as a Superlative student, Zac was expected to tutor his underclassmen, helping them to grow and flourish at Silhouette. He sighed. Resigning himself to a little hard work, Zac lifted himself up, and jumped down off of the counter.

His friends weren't back from the store yet, and everyone else was getting all caught up on homework and anything else they wanted to get done before the week began again. So, Zac took himself for another walk, this time, of the more... enthusiastic variety.

After a few minutes of wandering around, Zac found himself near the school's training room. Jokingly, Zac knocked on the door, wondering if anyone was inside. He pushed the door open and stepped inside. As he entered, Zac could tell that someone had been here recently. There were scented candles and the smell of smoke. However, upon fully stepping inside, the room changed, as it always did, to suit the needs of the person who had entered. The air was always so thick here. It thrummed with power, filling Zac with a strength he liked to believe he didn't possess. While a new student might find this effect reassuring, easing their doubts and making them feel comfortable, it only served to frighten Zac. His powers terrified him, they always had. His strength wasn't gentle like Atheya's was. His powers weren't meant to nurture and assist. They were meant to destroy, to utterly annihilate, all obstacles that stood before him. The thought made him shudder. Still, Zac had managed to wander into the room. He might as well put it to good use.

As if his thought were the trigger, five humanoid dummies rose from the ground, weapons drawn. Guns. Zac raised his hands defensively, instinctually raising a barrier between himself and the dummies at a moment's notice. The dummies had risen from the ground in a rough circle, surrounding Zac. Before they even had a chance to fire, Zac made to punch the attacker directly in front of him, firing a powerful blast of psionic force. Zac wished he hadn't. Not only had the ball of force completely pierced the attacking dummy, leaving a whole the size of a basketball in its chest, but it had managed to blast it's way out of the wall a good thirty feet behind the offending dummy, creating a hole the size of a beach ball. The wooden dummy fell slowly, landing with a mundane sort of thud. Zac would have killed it, had it been alive. Reacting, the other dummies fired, filling the air around Zac with bullets. However, Zac's walls were his pride and joy. The bullets halted almost immediately upon encountering the walls Zac had erected, completely stopped, stuck within the freezing cold barriers of psionic force and, near, solid air. The dummies emptied their clips, but the barriers held firm. Responding in kind, Zac reached out with his right hand open, grabbing the dummies with a myriad of psionic hands. The dummies were lifted from the ground, floating, sickeningly, about five feet off the ground. Darkly, Zac clenched his fist, and the dummies seemed to implode, crushing in upon themselves and forming tiny balls of extreme density. These too dropped mundanely to the floor. Zac cringed, if they were real people, they would be dead. Zac made a mental note: next time, simply yank the guns out of the hands of the dummies, turning the weapons on would-be attackers, or, better yet, destroy the weapons. Zac could then offer the chance to surrender. Killing people, real people, was... it was never an option. As the encounter concluded, it seemed the room was done with Zac, for now anyway. The lights turned up, the bodies of the dead dummies melted into the floor, and the hole in the wall patched itself together. It was as if he had never even broken it.

Zac left, feeling worse than when he had entered. Though he had completed the session on a whim, he had forgotten something he burned into his memory when he first came to Silhouette. His powers were... evil. They could kill and hurt so easily. Zac had to remember to be kinder with them, be gentler, be... better. In a dark mood, Zac meandered aimlessly back to his room. He didn't want to talk to anyone. Unlocking his door, Zac walked over to his bed and flopped, face down, onto his pillow, mulling over what he had experienced in the self-adjusting training room. Over and over his mind repeated the lesson he had learned today: he needed to use his powers carefully. Direct offensive action, from him, was almost always deadly.

Pulling his head out from the quiet depths of his pillow, Zac looked at his bedside clock. It was late, and a chool started early for superlatives. They had an early meeting to prepare for the day's lessons and make decisions about the student's activities and such. Zac hated those meetings. He had never been one for student council, even in regular high school, and he wasn't about to start liking them now. Regardless, attendance was enforced, so Zac set his alarm, bright and early. As he drifted off to sleep, Zac had a couple different thoughts. Maybe he could start paying attention, learn about himself. It could turn his fears into confidence, and his weaknesses into strengths. Maybe instead he'd take a nap or play internet games during classes again. Either way, tomorrow would be better.
