Sigurd Hring (konung of Iskjerne) currently has two wives. Brunhilda the Valkyrie is a shield-maiden. Alfhilda of Alfheim is an elven princess.

Iskjerne Vikings - Klanns/Gangs/Units:
1. Harii : 'ghost warriors' Germanic viking stealth unit; guerrilla warfare, spec ops, espionage and assassination ; counter-terrorism, vikings who paint themselves black and operate at night or in shadow. Raven Clan, wear cloaks with raven feathers. Main weapons are pitchforks, rakes and atgeirs or claws. Special abilities include climbing, hunting/tracking, archery, ambush, infiltration, disguise and sabotage. Very keen eyesight and hearing. Can see in the dark. Spirit animal is a raven. Works as a flock, havoc or murder. Followers of Odin.
2. Berserker : 'bearshirts/bare-chests' Norse viking shock unit; elite special juggernaut, berserker rage specialty allows incredible strength, power, resistance, immunity to fire and steel, immune to pain. Large muscular men with no tongues ; can't speak, just growl. Operate alone, solitary, champions in battle. Will go into a bloodlust frenzy and attack friend or foe. Cannibalistic, main weapons are two-headed axes, spiked clubs and pitchforks. Exceptional assassins also. Spirit animal is a bear. Doesn't work well with others. Followers of Odin or Ullr.
3. Ulfhednar: 'wolfcoats' Pack hunters, work as a team. Ambushers, good at tracking and hunting. Sledding and skiing, ice skating. Strong sense of hearing and smell. Lunacy specialty; howl at the moon. Bloodlust makes them immune to fear. Extremely loyal to whoever they serve. Spirit animal is a wolf. Followers of Odin.
4. Svinfylking: 'boar-snout' the bulk of the viking army, the frontline, skirmishers, known for their shieldwall defense tactics and wedge attacking formations. Strong sense of smell and intuition or gut instinct. Has a tendency to rally unless backed into a corner. Excellent defense especially during seige. Innovative with leadership and teamwork. Good on land or sea. Boar clan wears pigskin hides. Charge specialty makes them immune to fear. Hit-n-run tactics. Main weapons include pickaxes, spears, seaxes and polearms. Afraid of fire. Good at farming. Followers of Freyr or Freyja.
5. Skogkattr : 'forest cats/lynxes' the shield-maiden unit; all female only, wears catskinned cloaks. Felinni clan, talented archers and javelin experts. Sharpshooter, excellent with a bow. Great hunters and trackers, ambushers, skirmishers. Spirit animal is a lynx. Magic specialty enables catlike reflexes, night vision, divination, prophetic vision, fortune telling, spellwork and healing, herbs, medicines. Can operate alone or as a single unit. Very strategic. Main weapons include daggers, longbows and fighting staffs. Good at fishing. Followers of Freyja.
6. Vulpinni: 'foxpelts' solitary or pair unit, sly and clever. Specialize in trickery, deceit, setting traps, running fast. Messengers and spies, stewards and heralds. Spirit animal is a fox. Good rangers, hunters. Not the best at open battles. Weak but quick and stealthy with great stamina. Specialty is skiing, sledding, ice skating, navigation in snow. Strong sense of direction and weather prediction. Followers of Skadi.
7. Uglarii: 'owl clan' Female watchers, learners, keepers of secrets known for their owl feathered cloaks. Witches versed in magic who can hear the gods and speak directly to them like the Odrarii, but do not practice magic openly and will not sell their bodies in exchange for wisdom. Specialty involves medicine, healing and protection spells. The village mothers or babysitters, bedmaidens, caretakers, nurses and homemakers. Still good warriors but more prone to domestic life. Main weapon is a broom or staff. Skills include cooking, cleaning, sewing and crafts, gardening and singing, animal speak. Followers of Frigg.
8. Odrarii ; 'ecstatics/greycloaks' Taboo unit, the outcasts of viking society. Male warlocks or wizards wearing grayjay feathered cloaks and pointed wide brimmed hats. Specialty is birdspeak. Can hear the gods and talk directly to them like the Uglarii, but will act as a medium and sell their knowledge of the gods in exchange for sex. Seers and prophets, priests, healers. Lovers not fighters. Excellent craftsmen, inventors, builders, bards/skalds and storytellers. Masters of disguise. Main weapon is a walking stick or staff. Followers of Odr, though some more aggressive types follow Heimdall and are good at using ultrasonics, alpenhorns and wind instruments to summon animals, cause soundwaves and even hover, levitate or walk on air using subtle magic. Followers of Heimdall also have the specialty of illumination, and can bend light, create rainbows or cause objects to glow under the right conditions.
9. Styrmii: 'stormcloaks/goatskins' The mighty sailors and powerful naval units. Can predict weather and summon storms using incantations. Known for wearing grey hooded wool cloaks or goatskins. Blacksmiths, craftsmen, inventors. Specialty includes the ability to summon lightning; electromagnetism. Seafaring, excellent navigators. Strong and muscular. Main weapon is a forging hammer. Followers of Thor.
The Iskjerne Vikings are a trading war culture who make deals with the local native landvaettir. They trade gold in exchange for Dwarvish magical weapons. They trade silver for Elvish magical armor. They also have been known to make use of their environment. They will trade wood, stone, gold, silver, weapons, tools, armor, medicine, furs, leather skins, wool, meat, horses, vegetables, fruit, copper, iron, and occassionally even viking mercenaries adept in naval warfare and unconventional land battles.
