Your most unusual hobby

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby roleplay on Mon Sep 22, 2008 5:04 pm

I was just wondering what you would consider your most unusual hobby. I guess unusual hobby of mine is research. I love the internet (and the library) as I can research any topic that tickles my fancy. I love to do research and to find obscure historical facts and stories.

I make try to make figuriens and and the sort out random things like wire, paper clips, coat hangers and the like. I have been told time and time again that I should some of them and become a sculpter but I just do to keep my hands busy and relive stress.

I design vehicles and components for them for fun. Nobody else I know offline does that—others on the Internet do that ofc, but you can find anything on the Internet, even when you're not looking.

Everyone here needs to be responding with "Role Playing in chat forums." xD!

No but for real, this is probably the most unusual hobby I have. My entire life is school, work, video games, and comics, otherwise. I don't think the search for knowledge, habit of doodling, or inspecting the nature around you are unusual hobbies.
I am available as an RP mentor should you seek to improve.
I draw things that you may like.
I like Ronald Jenkees and you might, too.

I require a certain level of writing skill in my stories. Don't be insulted, I just prefer to RP novel-level material. (I, I, I, me, me, me. I sound like such a jerk.)

I belong to a Sci-fi club where more than half do some sort of role-playing so its not that unusal for me. I just create symbols or design all over my hand untill you can't see the color of my flesh.

Aside from the obvious answer that other people have already stated?

I guess miniature wargames ties alongside the construction of hiking trails.

When I was in high school, I knew lots of people who did that. Not very unusual.

Unusual means not of the norm. Roleplay (especially online freeform text) isn't a very normalized hobby, really. I sure as hell don't tell any of my friends or family about it xDD

Exactly. Middle and high school. If you weren't drawing tattoos all over your arms, you weren't cool!

Yeah no one did that in my High school and not many people at my college draw on myself as I do.

I get drawn on a lot :P

I do what roleplay does. I also think roleplaying is not that weird really. Surely people have acted and taken on roles since we can remember?

ThatsNotPoetry, why hide it? :P Once people understand properly they often don't think it's that strange. It's kind of just acting really.

That's not weird, that's cool
When the end seem to justify the means, you've tried too hard to find an excuse. When 'by any means necessary' means 'violence may become necessary' you've lost sight of your goal. When people lay down and die rather than endure any more suffering, worry for the state of humanity. When people do not comment on how wrong this is, become angry at the world, because feeling that upset is too hard to bare. When people say 'you care too much' don't answer, because there is no such thing.
