Kiyoshi thrust forward with full power as he sent out the planetary defensers following Kaden.

Right, I'll keep my eyes on the radar and watch your back for now, Future out.

Kiyoshi was used to multi-tasking while being in a mobile suit. It was second nature for him and had been for a long time. All of his instincts from being a pilot for so long had come back. He wasn't too use to controlling remote defensers though, but he had caught on quick from just the initial use of them.

Come on...where are you...

Kiyoshi didn't like to run into an ambush, and if that's what this ended up being, it certainly wouldn't be his first. Kiyoshi spun the beam saber as he thought he saw something on the radar but went away. Kiyoshi opened the channel back up to Kaden.

Wind, I had a blink on the radar for a second. Tread carefully...

Future's message came too late as his own radar came alive. It seemed that five unknown mobile suits were advancing around them, having them surrounded.

It was a varied assortment, a couple Leos, two Aries, and a Taurus. He twirled the beam saber in hand as he tightened his grip against the controls.

Future, back to back! The defensors will keep our fronts shielded and I hate to admit it but we'll have to use long range weapons. Keep it as at a lower frequency, breaking through the biosphere on this colony is the last thing I wanna' do.

He raised his right arm, the beam cannon already taking aim on one of the Leos.

Fire at will!

Kiyoshi turned his Virgo around as fast as he could. This put a lot of stress on the mobile suit, but it could take it. Kiyoshi dialed down the settings on the beam cannon and glared as he saw the Taurus coming up behind him. Kiyoshi looked to the left and right seeing the Aries coming up at their sides.

Nothing can ever be easy...

Kiyoshi made sure his Planetary Defensers were doing their job of covering himself and Kaden. Kiyoshi aimed at the Taurus as it began to fire it's beam rifle. It's shots being easily absorbed by the Planetary Defensers. Kiyoshi aimed for the lower section of the Taurus and fired. The blast from the beam cannon was on a low setting, but still it damaged the legs of the Taurus bad enough making it drop and skid across the ground. Kiyoshi then turned his attention to the Aries taking aim.

That's one down...

Zhelir cursed as he caught wind of the conversation, rapidly closing on their position.

"Guess the cannon's outta the question. All melee for me."

The crash shield came to life, a violent green beam casting a glow on Mercurius' black form. He thrust forward, activating his planet defensors and drawing back the sword in the suit's left hand.

He rotated the suit, rushing toward the nearest suit - an Aries. With any luck, he could draw some fire from his companions.

"Last one t'take one out's a rotten Earthling." He growled into the comm.

He'd left enough power in the generator for the beam cannon to fire towards the Leo, ripping through it's chest to drop it to it's back. Sadly, the shot continued, slamming into a nearby building, apparantely vacant.

Damnit man, I got lucky with that one....

He turns to the side, looking over to the two Aries moving in on each opposite side. He then raised his cannon again to aim towards the one on the right.

Future, i've got the one on the right, take care of the left!

Kiyoshi nodded as he let go of the handle of his beam cannon. he slammed on the pedals thrusting towards the Aries that was firing at him. His planetary defensers absorbed the blasts from it's chain rifle again easily. Jumping into the air, Kiyoshi drew his beam saber and ignited the blade as he cut across the lower half of the Aries, destroying it's lower verniers. Kiyoshi landed on the ground with a lound thump in a crouched position, beam saber drawn. Inside the cockpit, Kiyoshi had a near sinister smile.

Just like old times...just like old times.

Zhelir landed with a crash, the crash shield having tore through the lower portion of the Aries he'd vaulted at. From what he knew of the makeup of an Aries, the cockpit was unharmed, but it was damn sure out of commission. He wasn't sure if it was the one Kaden or Kiyoshi was after, but one of 'em was free, at any rate. He rotated the suit, glancing around to try to find the Taurus.

His eyes carefully scanned the monitors as his fingers danced across the controls, until he finally located it, just in time to absorb a blast from its beam rifle. Powerful though the defensors were, they wouldn't hold out forever against that.

"You little bastard..." Zhelir growled, boosting forward.

He dropped the aim from his beam cannon, turning to face the last remaining Leo. He then moved forwards from Kiyoshi's suit, enough to ignite his thrusters to near the Leo.

Hold onto your hats boys, we may have some reinforcements comin' in.

With a simple flick of his wrist the Leo's head fell to the ground before it. The body then landed not far from it.

He turned back around to face the two, seeing that Kiyoshi had already taken out his Aries and Zhelir was advancing on the fallen Taurus.

Mercurius bolted across the ground, the beam sword making one whirl of a slice. The arm of the fallen Taurus containing the beam rifle skidded a few meters from the suit's torso before exploding. The ground beneath it smoked lightly from the cut, but was nowhere near deep enough to cause any serious damage.

He gazed around the area before dropping his gaze back to the control console. Nothing on the scopes, nothing in the monitors.

"I got nobody. We keep movin', or hold tight and wait for 'em to send more?"

Kiyoshi stood upright as he replaced the beam saber and called back his planetary defensers to the Virgo's left shoulder. Kiyoshi double checked the radar to confirm with Zhelir's readings of no enemies in the area.

Yep, I got nothing either. They won't stay scared for too long. I say we move on. Take out the communications now before they have more time to send out a distress call.

Kiyoshi made his way back to where Zhelir was in the Merc, so the team could regroup.

He shook his head as he reviewed his systems after the battle. It seems that the Defensors had held up pretty damn good. He'd never piloted a suit that used them.

No, I believe the best thing we can do is to disperse. We're looking to take down the communication towers so a plea for help can't be made. Plus, that's under the assumtion that people with knowledge of how to use 'em are still around.

Alright, everyone, disperse and move around. Maintain radio silence unless you find something or need help. Move out!

He ignited his thrusters to float above the street once more. He bursted off into the distance, scanning around for his next targets.

Zhelir nodded and cut the transmision. He had been waiting for this part. He quickly made his way over to the building Kaden had halfway demolished. He made a quick job of arranging rubble atop the suit's frame, before popping open the cockpit. He pulled himself out and closed the hatch, making sure to lock it as he did so. He had pulled both his Casuls and his retracting pike from within the cockpit; he wanted to be relatively unnoticed on this, so ditching Merc was the best option.

With a quick sprint, he had moved into the alleyways, and was carefully picking his way across to what did indeed appear to be a communications tower. He checked his pockets to make sure he had his }{G comm, just in case something went amiss. Satisfied that he was all set, he moved into a flat out sprint toward the tower.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby FutureKiyoshi on Mon Oct 10, 2005 12:32 am

Kiyoshi made a thumbs up with his Virgo to Zhelir, before thrusting off in an opposite direction of Kaden. Kiyoshi made his Virgo leap into the air and fly a short distance before landing into another damaged part of the city. Kiyoshi slowly walked forward until a warning went off in his Virgo. Kiyoshi punched his vernier controls sliding along the ground and cornering behind a damaged building as it began to get pounded by fire from beam rifles. Kiyoshi looked at the radar seeing it was six units.

Great...don't hold anything back at all.

Because of the number of mobile suits, Kiyoshi would have to be drastic. Kiyoshi lept into the air turning his Virgo around in mid air as he flew over the tall building he was hiding behind. He landed on the roof top and aimed his beam cannon down at the six Leo's armed with beam rifles. Kiyoshi pulled the trigger aiming just a little above where he would have normally aimed at the cockpit.

The Leo's finally noticed Kiyoshi on the roof and began firing up at him just as he fired the beam cannon. Kiyoshi just barely managed to dodge the beam rifle fire as he leaped off of the roof top he was on and landed on another one just below it with a controlled decent. Unfortunately, this building had suffered more damage than the one he was on and it began to crumble under the weight of his Virgo. Kiyoshi leaped off of it as the building came crashing to the ground and landed in the street hiding behind another building.

Kiyoshi could see on the radar that one of the Leo's had been taken out. Whether it was fully destroyed or just disabled, he wasn't sure, and couldn't worry about that right now. The pings on his radar began to move out surrounding the building he was hiding behind. The had separated, which gave Kiyoshi an advantage. He knew he would have to end this as quick as possible and move on. Letting go of the handle to his beam cannon again, he drew his beam saber as he used his verniers to quickly come around the building.

One of the Leo's was right in front of him, and Kiyoshi could almost feel the look of surprise on the enemy pilot's face. In two slashes of the beam saber, Kiyoshi cut through the head and lower torso then shifted the Virgo to the right and moved on. Not wanting to overheat the verniers, Kiyoshi began to run as he cut the verniers.

Hearing the warning pierce through his quiet cockpit, Kiyoshi threw the beam saber to his free left hand and brought up the cannon as he twisted the suit to the left. A Leo began to fire it's beam rifle and scored a couple of hits on Kiyoshi's virgo, before it's right arm was completely destroyed by the beam cannon. Kiyoshi continued to aim at the Leo, until he saw it's hatch open and the pilot ride a zipline waving a white flag. Kiyoshi then let go of the beam cannon again and took the beam saber in his right as he searched for the remaining 3 Leo's.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Zhelir Darkfall on Mon Oct 10, 2005 12:53 am

Zhelir spat the stub of a cigar into the ground as he neared the building. His pike was out, prefering NOT to alert every person in the building with the sound of his guns. He had no idea if the tower contained terrorists, regular citizens, or if anyone was in it at all. But the tall tower topped by a satellite dish said 'communications' to him, so he was going in, one way or another.

As he slid in through a demolished window, his question as to the building's population was answered; there appeared to be two armed guards in the lobby, both facing away from his position. He guessed that meant there were plenty more higher up. He approached the nearest guard in three deft steps. The pike, in its retracted form, could be held in one hand, and thusly made a fairly good blackjack. One quick swipe of it levelled the guard. His partner turned just in time to catch Zhelir's boot to the temple.

Zhelir continued on to the stairs almost casually, as he watched the guard, already unconscious from the initial blow, fly across the lobby and hit a marble column. He nearly opened the door to the stairs when he realised how stupid a move that would be. Instead, he knocked heavily on it. He peered through the rectangular window on it and, sure enough, a guard stepped into view, a cigarette in his mouth.

Moving more out of instinct than plan, Zhelir leapt off the ground, twisted at the summit of his jump, and kicked out. A combination of this and the guard turning the door handle with the intention of apprehending him resulted in the door colliding spectacularly with the man's face, sending him across the stairwell and into the opposite wall. Zhelir rolled lightly to his feet and proceeded into the stairwell.

"Yep... exactly like ol' times..."

Kiyoshi heard a rumble and then a shot from a beam saber landed into the ground just near his foot. As he turned around he saw a Leo get pinned under what remained of a building. Watching it for a second to be sure that it couldn't get up and then seeing the pilot get out and scramble away, falling down a few times, Kiyoshi moved on.

They say imitation is a form of flattery. That was just rediculas.

Kiyoshi gripped the controls to his Virgo, looking around for the remaining two Leo's. They were probably hiding out of fear, or waiting for a chance to attack. Since they weren't moving at the time the radar wasn't picking them up, but one Leo apparently made a mistake. A few hundred yards away from Kiyoshi, a Leo had shifted it's weight trying to look around a corner. This made a ping on Kiyoshi's radar. Quickly determining the location, Kiyoshi drew his beam saber and made his way there. He turned around a building using his verniers seeing the Leo look around the corner, it's back to Kiyoshi. The Leo noticed Kiyoshi and turned to fire it's beam rifle just as Kiyoshi sent out the planet defensers to block the attacks. Kiyoshi burst forward stabbing his beam saber through the right shoulder of the Leo, piercing through it's armor and the building behind it.

Kiyoshi's suit let off and an alarm warning him of an attack from behind. Kiyoshi just moved his planetary defensers to protect his back, pulling the beam saber from the Leo as it fell to it's knees. Kiyoshi turned around seeing the last remaining Leo firing it's beam rifle repeatedly at him. Kiyoshi leaped into the air with his verniers, and then brought he saber down as he landed. The saber cut through the armor of the Leo as Kiyoshi cut down from the left shoulder and then across when he got to the lower torso. The pilot jumped out of the Leo as Kiyoshi used his verniers to move backwards at a top speed, just as the Leo exploded.

Kiyoshi called back his planet defensers to their stationary point on the left arm and replaced the beam saber as he slowly began to walk down the road. He silently wondered how the others were doing.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Zhelir Darkfall on Mon Oct 10, 2005 11:18 am

Zhelir's footfalls were nearly silent as he rocketed up the steps. He needed to get into the control room as fast as he possibly could, to keep them from calling in backup if they realised the guards below had been taken out. He silently debated between knocking them all out, or taking the easier route and killing them. But he had orders, and that meant no deaths.

Finally, he reached the top of the stairs. Slightly winded, but nothing horrible. A few moments' standing still gave him his breath back. He approached the window in the stairwell door and carefully peered in. He didn't like what he saw; two men held at gunpoint over a control console, and three men holding guns - all fully-auto, by the look of it.

Zhelir took a deep breath and muttered under his breath, "Sorry, Kaden. But I'd rather them be dead than the controllers. Might need 'em..."

He turned the door handle and pushed inward, and deftly moved behind the doorframe, out of sight. He could hear several voices mixed with curiosity, anxiety, and a touch of worry. He could hear the footsteps of a single man approaching the stairs. Zhelir pressed himself against the wall and readied his pike.

The man stepped into the room, looking straight forward. He made to turn toward Zhelir, no doubt having seen him in his periphereal vision. Zhelir released the latch on the weapon, allowing it to extend to its full length, which conveniently plowed its way through the man's skull, and into the door. In a blurr of motion, Zhelir had circled the man's corpse and brought up his Casulls, aiming for the remaining men. Both let loose with their guns at the same moment as Zhelir, but their companion's corpse absorbed nearly all of the bullets. Seven rounds returned from behind the bullet-riddled corpse. Three punched into the leftmore of the two, and two into the right. One went into the floor, and the other out the panoramic window before the controls, shattering it into thousands of pieces.

In another quick movement, he had ducked the corpse and moved toward the two men, though didn't lower his guns. He had a mission to complete.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Mia Siserae on Mon Oct 10, 2005 5:47 pm

Just as she was drifting off to sleep, one thought crossed her mind. Where in the bloody universe was her intern Lori?! It was true that Mia had never wanted an intern in the first place, but to have one disappear for three days?! It hadn't crossed her mind because of the catastophic events taking place. Now that she was laying down pondering about it, Lori was supposed to report to her in the morning three days ago!!

As if by some strange miracle though, her door bursted open as Lori herself was standing there with her bright pink hair. And before Mia could open her mouth to say anything, Lori glomped her.

A heh, speak of the devil...

Lori: MIA-SENSEI! I WAS SOOOO SCARED!

Mia patted her back in a comforting manner, unable to scold her for her absense for some odd reason.

It's alright, it'll be okay. What happened?! Where were you these past few days?? You look exausted!!

She sat up now, getting off of her bed to flick on the light on the wall opposite them. Walking over to her small fridge at the foot of the bunk bed, she opened it pulling out two water bottles. She handed one to Lori as she sat back down next to her.

Lori drank all the water from the bottle that Mia offered her in one gulp. She wiped her mouth on her sleeve.

Well, sensei, I felt really bad about your PDA... and then you didnt talk to me at all... so I thought that I would go and get you a new PDA when we got on the ship... but then I got so compeletly lost... and everything went downhill from there. What on earth where the sirens and stuff for? Ug.

Lori held her head on her hands. She was very sure she was getting a migraine and she felt sort of feverish.

I really dont feel well. I need to lay down.

Kiyoshi sat back as he made his Virgo walk slowly forward. There was a smile still on his face, like a kid with a new toy. He himself couldn't believe the change in him. Kiyoshi had been walking for awhile now and hadn't come across anything. His instincts told him that everything in this area was safe until he stopped and saw a small tower. Any colony would have a back up communications center, just in case someone attempted what he and the }{G's were doing.

Kiyoshi pulled the view finder around that was attached to his seat so he could zoom in on the building. Just below the tower was a building. The sign at it's front said "MO-V Secondary Communications: Restricted Access" and below it "Trespassers will be shot." Kiyoshi continued to look around shifting the suit just slightly. There were two Taurus mobile suits. One was crouched down to the grown with a zip line coming from it's cockpit, the other was standing and looking around with his back to Kiyoshi. Between the two jeeps there was a land vehicle that could probably carry at least five people in it.

Kiyoshi made the Virgo accelerate forward using the verniers. He reached his top speed as he leaped into the air. The Leo that was being piloted turned around half way just as Kiyoshi came down grabbing the Leo's head and forcing it down to the ground. Kiyoshi pinned the Leo down. As he drew the beam saber it ignited. He brought the beam weapon up into the air and stabbed it down through the head then stood up pulling it down and to the right so that it would cut off the arm carrying a beam rifle. Kiyoshi also made short work of the Leo's legs before Kiyoshi again jumped into the air and slashed through the smaller communications tower, cutting it in half and rendering it useless.

Kiyoshi landed while turning his Virgo around and replacing the beam saber in the left shoulder of the Virgo. He brought the beam cannon up, and fired at the crouched Leo. In a large blast the Leo took heavy damage and fell forward to the ground. If Kiyoshi had had the beam cannon at a higher power setting, there would have been nothing left of the Leo at this range.

Six men with high powered automatic weapons ran out, but didn't refuse to drop their weapons when Kiyoshi's Virgo aimed it's beam cannon down at them. The Virgo's large square "eye" camera again flashed as Kiyoshi smirked.

Glad to see that you guys aren't as foolish as I thought.

Zhelir stood, full framed against the bloody scene behind him with his Casulls aimed, one for each of the controllers' heads. His bright green eyes spakled faintly with the rush that came with such a mission.

"You will both scramble all possible methods of intercepting a private communication. If you need a specific channel to do it on, then here."

He half threw the }{G comm to the nearest tech - the one on the left - who nervously caught it, and plugged it into the computer.

"And let me make myself clear. I will remain in this outpost for some time. If ANYTHING happens to either of my teammates, they'll never find all the pieces of my body. Get me?"

The rightmore nodded his head, his face going pale. The two of them went to work for a couple minutes, before the left one turned around and replied,
"It's all s-set, sir."

Zhelir nodded, and picked his comm back up.
"Wind, Future, I'm at the top of the main communications tower. Give me the word and I'll frag the system. And the building along with it, if ya want."
