I have no problem with anyone using NPCs so long as they don't use them to the point that they are breaking the game. At the same time, this is a situation where there is going to be more of a shoot-first type attitude, so don't be surprised if bad things happen to your NPC. One person isn't going to be able to take control of the situation.

I thought the post was great!
I had plans to write a post yesterday for an April Fool's Joke in which the shipw as flooded by demons and all the characters were turned into zombies, but I was caught up in packing for the move. I might go ahead and post the thing here for you guys to enjoy some time later as I thought it was pretty comical.

Roamer and Digger are hatching a plan right now that's going to call for a good Marine, so I think that you joined at the perfect time. If nothing else, you can either wait until someone "tags" you with an IC post or go ahead and have your character, through whatever means you like, find a way to report down the auxiliary hangar to meet the two .

Can anyone debrief me? I doubt I can read 8 pages in the allotted time it would take before this supposed plan were to come to fruition. That aside, it just seems like a lot of chatter about landing, yet the orders haven't been given. Also, Jag--It seems that there was already a Sergeant--Jacob Pearce--Do I ignore his posts since he is no longer in the role-play?

Nevermind the PM, good to make sure everyone is on the same page.
The Atlas was part of a large EDF Fleet escorting a number of civilian ships through the melchoir system as Terrans retreated to avoid being caught as they lost ground in the war with the Thalians. They were attacked, forcing the Atlas and many of the other military ships to take on massive numbers of refugees. During the battle, the Atlas was ordered to go through the jump gate to the Karas System, which was then to be destroyed/disabled behind them.
All attempts to make contact/find the colony on Karas II have been unsuccessful. A contact party crash-landed on the surface, discovered an abandoned undergroudn facility, and had to evacuate as they were attacked by an unknown force and some of them began to display signs of mental instability. Storms and problems aboard have halted all other attempts to reach the surface.
A dormant ship was found drifting in space. The design is unlike anything known to the EDF and bears a number of features that are distinctly Thalian in design, but there are English markings and writings. A self-defense system activated and the pilots were force to return to the Atlas without investigating surface.
A suicide bomber attacked the Flight Deck and temporarily disabled the ship's ability to launch and recover the majority of its Wing. At the same time, a hostage situation arose in the Cargo Bay where the civilian refugees are living. Several of them appeared to be armed and highly organized, responsible for the suicide bomber and an undisclosed number of other charges allegedly placed throughout the ship.
The ship's captain, chief medical officer, and a technician are among those held hostage currently. The group's leader has demanded transport down to the surface of Karas II. Wing Commander Lt. Cmdr. Aiden "Roamer" Morrow is working on a rescue/recovery operation and has enlisted the help of Jason "Digger" Mieczylawa, the ship's Flight Deck chief. The XO of the Atlas has also ordered a Marine fire team to report to the auxiliary hangar to meet Morrow, which would be a good entry for your character.
That's the long and short of the situation thus far. All the other IC activity has been retconned since we lack the writers and characters who were attempting to drive other plot vehicles forward.
As far as Pierce is concerned, I have no problem using that character as an NPC with whatever changes may be necessary to serve the story, or removing him entirely.

What would you like me to do once Dyson got there? I assume that with the charges on the outside of the hull being a liability that Aiden--in accordance with his own words--is going to attempt to diffuse them. Meanwhile the hostages in the bay are Miles' concern? If so, I have a nifty idea.
