There's only a small group of students because not many can train themselves to be strong enough to take them on, and the headmistress won't let anyone at all unable to beat them every time.
Their goal is power, and they want to take way the student's power so they can take on the teachers. Again, the headmistress only selected the best of the best teachers.

Quick question, when the teachers are describing a classroom and teaching, are all students in that power supposed to be there? Everyone is in a different place and I'm not sure where Melanie should be. Part of her character is that she is scared of breaking rules so I don't want to put her in the wrong place XD Thanks

im guessing there are multiple teachers for each subject
you can have your character in prof olivier's class if you want, or you just make up your own
just to let you know im not going to have him say something everyday
if there isnt anything important i wouldnt write it and you just have to assume that class already took place that day

second day has begun. so have classes. in the earlier time of day two, an assembly took place in which new students have been ceremoniously welcomed. some time later, a mysterious man from a group of people named the institution was spotted in the outlying forests. Jason Cross, who had skipped the assemblies to practice honing his abliities had met Zoey Spleha. During this time, Maggie Macleod discovers the two and advises to run to safety from the man from the 'institution'. Maggie, one of the three students who had been officially appointed to counter the institution (the other two being Derek Leer (OOC), and a boy named Michael), succeeds in daunting him away. After finding a safe location, Jason Cross reveals that he intends to find vengeance upon the man responsible for the death of his parents. the man is revealed to have been an alumni at this very school. He also expresses some jealously towards David (played by Sirk) and his friendship with Zoey Spleha. During the earlier part of the day, Jerome Olivier discovers a strange symbol engraved onto the side of desk, one which he had not encountered the previous day. While in the hallway, he also overhears a heated argument between Derek Leer (OOC) and another prefect named Anthony Sawalha. They seem to express their anger and frustration towards another mystery student whose name had not been revealed. During class, Jerome had befriended an experienced third year student named Basil (check OOc later).

The earth students can control rocks, soil, plants and extremely powerful ones can make earthquakes, even the headmistress can't do that, though.They all start out growing plants, because its simple.

also, shortly after the assemblies, prof Olivier had an encounter with someone from the UCSDM (Universal Congregation of Schools for the Development of Man). The stranger told him that they were interested in purchasing all the assets and properties of elemental academy, thus, revealing the underlying financial difficulties. prof olivier declined and assured him that it was only a matter of time before the school could pay off debts and return to prosperity

If you are either in the energy class or the eartchclass, you should be in fiona/olivier's class. If not, maybe you could be just hagning around the castle?
