Introduction
The times from 2030-2059 were the ones that made the world at its peak of technology. Pop up screens, easy transportation, even artificial humans were created. It was as if the world itself lived as a computer. World peace was brought to every continent, and everyone had allies, and few enemies that were strong enough to be concerned again. What was mostly amazed at, yet also very powerful and influential to all the people was the technology and science. As said, it was the peak of it all. Things were created, and people threw away their old life for this new one that ruled them all. Some people feared the changed, others loved it.
Back then, the top most worrisome, dangerous, yet incredible project would have to be the artificial humans. We had all seen the possibilities of them taking over from their intelligence levels that could exceed a regular human's. It was a possibility, despite how insane it may sound, and even the scientists, who designed these thing saw it, yet proceeded with their work anyways. After around 20 years, with their programing abilities and engineers, the first human was made; one that was built from metal, wires, and knowledge. It looked pretty inhumane, looking nothing similar to a regular person, but given another 10 years, their outer shell became one that was a replica of any other human's. This is how the most perfect and beautiful humans were made if they could not be brought into the world by birth.
So there you have it; we have two races, the humans and Artificials.
But even though it was said that Artificials could destroy us all, that was not the reason that the world began to fall.
No... it was mother nature who first destroyed the world. No one really remembers what happened that day. Its often just a blur now, but what did happen is a huge earthquake. It made buildings that touched the clouds fall down onto the ground and killed many people underneath it. Just when everyone throughout that their sorrows for the dead were finished and they could continue to cleaning up the huge mess, next came the second step of the catastrophe. The tsunamis. Huge tidal waves washed over these burning buildings and drowned the young and old. More people were killed this time, and hardly more than 500,000 people remained. Most of the Artificials were destroyed from the water, and those that developed their own mind slipped away to places safer. But it wasn't over yet. The third phase had yet to be put into action.
The third phase was something unexplainable. They were demons; black shadows that took on animal forms. They were surrounded by shadows, and had red mindless eyes. Where they came from it unknown, how they came to is unknown, but its apparent that no regular weapon is able to kill them. This killed off at least another 50,000 in the process.
With the few remaining scientists, they quickly developed a weapon with the few resources they could find before their deaths. Unfortunately, due to many of them being killed of before and during the process of making these weapons, it came with a price. The weapon was flawed. Technically, there wasn't much special about it, but they made various flawed normal weapons and embedded a sort of technology into it that literally dissolved any demon that it touched, but that also went the same for humans. Some people grabbed them to kill off other humans so they could survive without worrying about a human killing them for supplies, others used them for defense, and very little used them to kill off the demons, by choice.
The only flaw in this weapon was that each time it was used to kill a demon, a black ink would seem to spread throughout that person's body. It's like a virus that attaches to a human, or even an Artificials' body. It cannot be removed unless the host dies and so the virus dies down with them, but each the special weapon is used to kill a demon, the black ink spreads even more. Once it covers up the whole body, the host dies, and the weapon becomes useless. That is why most people use it to protect themselves when needed, or just to only kill humans. It came with little to no price and most of them survived longer, even with the demons hunting for the remaining.
All the cities have been isolated form water in current time, 2061, two years after the demons came. Around 1,000 weapons have been distributed to the those that fear, those who are selfish, and those that are our saviors. Everything now is desert, just as far as the eye can see. Some things have been created amongst the ruble of the broken down ruins of cities, towns, and other civilized places. Most created things now days are clothing, or vehicles. Travel is essential, and food can scarcely be found unless there is a city near by. Hardly any creatures besides demons were left on the sand plains after the three catastrophes.
Now, it is only every man for himself. You either kill and live, or run and die. There has only been one known group that is loyal enough to each other to not kill each other off, and their goal has been to exterminate all demons. They call themselves Flag. They mostly kill any demon in sight, despite each usage of their weapon slowly killing them off, and rescuing any people in need. But for the rest, they are all independent and live by the rules.
The world has become a chessboard, one filled with violence and little hope.

2 – Only lasts 42 hours ; Yup, only two days for you to get a character in, unless you ask for more time. I’ll give you more, but if you don’t say anything, your name will be taken off the character and free for anyone else to take. Just like that! (´Ａ｀。)
3 – Literacy ; Hey, I don’t really care about this rule very much, but that doesn’t mean you should try typing in another language to us! Seriously, try to write decent English, yeah? Oh, and also that means at least 7+ sentences per post. You can go under a few times, but you know the saying, three strikes and you’re out!

4 – Romance, Gore, Etc ; Romance is encouraged, Gore can be included, Drama is encouraged, Swearing is allowed only in character, but all has to be PG-13 or slightly R rated. I’m sure we all know what that means. ┐(‘～`；)┌

9 – Creativity ; Make your characters different from others! Sure, a few things in common are alright, but what I don’t want to see is a super nice character and another super nice character, or a rebel and another rebel. ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
10 – Random Words ; Don't ask why I made another rp. I suddenly liked this idea. Yeah. (;ﾞ°´ω°´) So, to reserve a character, put down your favorite book, but don't say "My favorite book is-" Just put down the title, nothing else! Just. The. Title. Nothing. Else. Good, good job. Yup. Collectibles
