Here's the OOC ^^

Once Upon A Time In A Land Far Away.... is a load of crap. Fairytales are for three year old girls that want to grow up to be princesses and have ten ponies and live in a palace. Imagine actually having this. In modern day Britain, five princesses and five princes are engaged to be married. All of their fathers or mothers are in line to the throne in some way, and these marriages have been set up so that their children can be ready for the life that Royalty brings.

However, these are your typical forlorn princesses or knight in shining armor princes. The women are hopeless romantics, and then men are more party hard than working hard. Modern day love does have it's complications, and there are quite a few twists in this seemingly perfect idea of arranged marriage.

PRINCESSES

ā™¦ Princess A is a lesbian, and is more than just a friend to Princess D, even though her parents don't know about her sexuality ~ [XXFENNECXX]
ā™¦ Princess B is married to Prince D already, but she'll have to divorce him because of the arranged marriage ~ [SILENTBUTTERFLIES]
ā™¦ Princess C is having a secret relationship with Prince A, and doesn't want to end it for Prince C~ [IMAGINE THAT!]
ā™¦ Princess D is bisexual, and isn't sure how she feels about Princess A ~ [PLUMIES]
ā™¦ Princess E is best friends with Prince E, and likes him a lot more than just a friend ~ [TRAVELER]

PRINCES

ā™¦Prince A is having a secret affair with Princess C, and doesn't want it to end. He's also best friends with Prince C ~ [KILLBOT608]
ā™¦Prince B is gay and wants to be with Prince E, despite the fact this his parents disapprove of his love for his friend ~ [ANGLEAYA Z.]
ā™¦Prince C is in love with Princess C, and is happy with the arrangements. He doesn't know that she's sleeping with Prince A~ [AWESOMEOCALYPSE]
ā™¦Prince D is married to Princess B, and is not happy about having to divorce her for someone else ~[WEDNESDAYSUN]
ā™¦Prince E is bisexual, and he wants to be with Prince B. He doesn't know that Princess E loves him, and he just thinks of her as a close friend ~ [AIKA]

~*~

It was dark outside, and the English country side surrounding Princess Elena Falkland's large country home was barely visible. The stars were clouded with the dark mist in the air, meaning that it was probably going to rain either that night or the next day. Elena was in her bedroom, sitting on the window seat that she usually relaxed on with a good book in her lap, or she sometimes just sat there to think. The big window was open, the cool night's breeze floating in and swirling around her. She was waiting for him. She was already dressed, ready to head back to Reynald's home and just rest on the sofa for a while instead of going to the ball.

That night, all the Princes and Princesses were supposed to be attending a ball, where they would see their betrothed one again, getting to know something more about them. She had even been bought a new dress for the ball, even though she had protested about going. However, as the ball was being held in her own home, she didn't really have much of a choice, did she? However, Reynald hadn't seemed to like the idea of going to ball either, and together they had come up with the idea that he would pick her up that night, and they'd just spend time together instead.

However, fate seemed to hate her that day as one of her maid came in unannounced, something that they never did and she looked shocked at the mere sighed of her princess. "My Lady, you're supposed to be ready for the ball." She exclaimed, before rushing out of the room, muttering something about getting the dress. Elena sighed, runnign a hand through her fly away hair before pulling out her phone.
*Sigh* They found me. Sorry - I guess the plans are canceled for tonight. That means coming to the ball. -_-' I love you <3 That was the text that was sent to Reynald's phone, before it was put back on to her window seat.

Just then, the maid came running back in, and the torture began. After a while of being pulled around, she was ready. Her make-up was done, even though she wasn't a big fan of it - it seemed her opinion didn't matter when it came to her parent's wishes. Her hair was stlyed nicely and she was wearing her stunning new dress that she had fallen in love with the first time she had seen it. Then, something she shuddered at the very thought of was placed on top of her head, her tiara, and she made her way grudgingly down to the ball room.

Miriam glanced at the countryside around Chatsworth house as she elegantly walked down the front steps, wearing an old dress of hers that she thankfully, did actually like. Having never been one to enjoy dressing up, her grandmother had bought her this dress a couple of years back and she'd adored it from the moment she laid eyes on it. Usually, her parents forced her into wearing one of those god-awful cinderella type things that she never could stand, but thankfully, she got away with this one, despite it not fitting into their 'acceptable' category.

When her beautiful pale green eyes met the sight of the black stretch limo that waited for her, she couldn't help but sigh in distaste, the ugly vehicle not being of her choice. If she was honest, she'd have much rather turned up on horse back than be seen in such a dramatic car, but then, complaining rarely got her anywhere. Having first heard about this party, she'd planned in her mind to attend with Zeke, he was her husband, after all and one of the people who she really did love. It had taken her a while to get used to such feelings, but in the end she'd realised that she really had fallen for him. Her parents however, couldn't understand.

They had both insisted that she go alone and stay away from him for the night, because she had to get to know her betrothed. She'd met Trent a little while back and although she got on with him well, their relationship was definately more of a friendship than something more. Mimi just didn't have the spark with him that she had with Zeke and she wasn't about to give that up either, despite having been ordered to do so by her parents. However, placing her thoughts back on the matters at hand, the young princess climbed into the back, settling herself into the white leather seats, glad of the hours quiet time she'd have before reaching the Falkland's home.

__________________________________________________

Approximately an hour later, the black limo drew up outside of the beautiful country house, shadows forming mysterious shapes as the darkness descended. Mimi waited until the door was opened for her, before taking a footman's hand that was offered and climbing out of the car. As she glanced towards the front door, a cool breeze swept through her auburn waves and she ran a hand through them a couple of times, giving her a tousled, just got out of bed look. She smirked to herself slightly at what she thought the sight of her parent's faces would be like if they saw her looking like she was now. She was hardly wearing any makeup; simply a bit of mascara and eyeliner, which meant her skin was as pale as a rose petal, her lips a peachy pink. Mimi hadn't put on her tiara, and was wearing a simple charm bracelet on her right wrist, as well as her engagement and wedding rings. And that was pretty much it.

Smiling at the thought of seeing Zeke however, she started off towards the front of the house, trying to balance in the heels she hadn't gotten out of wearing.

Reynald knew about the ball, he knew his parents wanted him to go, he knew that his "future wife" would be there waiting for him and he knew his best friend would be waiting for Elena... But he just didn't care. He wasn't going to this stupid ball and neither was Elena, nor were either of them going to marry anyone besides each other. He hadn't spoken to his parents in a week now. He knew exactly what they wanted from him and he simply was not going to do it. Whatever they were going to achieve by making him marry someone they would simply have to deal with going without. He would not be told he was going to spend the rest of his life with...

He shook his head and cleared it of these rather depressing thoughts, taking a breath and sliding out from beneath an old pontiac firebird he was in the process of restoring. If he was going to pick Elena up before this ball started he needed to shower, get changed and drive to her parents place pretty sharpish. He was on his way upstairs from the lower level of his garage when his phone buzzed. He pulled it out of his pocket and flicked the screen back into place. It was broken and old, but he kept it because it was so difficult to find a simple phone these days. They all had touch screens, cameras, applications... All he needed was texting and phone calls... He read the text twice to make sure he was actually reading what he thought he was. "Oh you have got to be kidding me..." He hissed under his breath. He didn't have to go, of course. But he did have to see her... No matter where he had to go or what drivel he had to put up with, he would see her tonight.

He stormed upstairs to pick out a tuxedo and take a shower, cursing under his breath all the while. Once the black oil was washed away from his skin and he was wearing the tuxedo he had picked out, he looked more than ready for a sophisticated party. He cast the clothes he had planned to wear when he went out with Elena to one side and began debating as to whether he should call a limo or drive there...

He settled for the limo, figuring he'd have more time to think on the way there without getting distracted and crashing one of his cars. He wasn't bothered about being on time any more so he didn't say a word to the driver when he turned up fifteen minutes late. He just got in, gave him the address and sat, looking out of the window with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp. He arrived at Elena's home in time for the party seeing as he was going to set out early orignally and immediately made his way to the ballroom. He took his phone out of his jacket and flicked the screen. "I'm here, where are you?" He typed before selecting Elena and pressing "send".

Prince Ezekiel Michael Spencer, or Zeke as he preferred to be called, stood outside in the cool evening mist. It didn't make a difference if he closed his eyes or opened them. The grounds were almost pitch black but he didn't care. The air felt good on his skin. It invigorated him. On some occasions, he would forget why he was standing outside in the mist in the first place. He turned his portable floodlight on and scurried off to his house, remembering that he had a ball to attend. His mother would scream at him when she would see that he wasn't dressed yet, so he ran as fast as he could upstairs so she wouldn't see him still in jeans and a plain white t-shirt. What was the big deal about the ball, anyway? All he did was meet the other members of the nobility and the royalty. Though he hated the idea, he smiled as it gave him the opportunity to see Mimi again. He immediately set off to his room and found that the door to his sister, Victoria's, room was open. Being the curious guy that he was, he went inside to find that his sister was almost done dressing up. Her hair was being done in a loose bun with gentle curls falling from the edges, and purple pearls were being woven in with her hair that complimented her dress. Zeke couldn't hold in a smile as he watched his sister being made up by some random makeup artist. She soon noticed him and she started to frown as she didn't like being made up like this. What she hated the most was Zeke entertained by her misery. She liked doing her own makeup but at the insistence of her mother, she had to comply to his forceful makeup artist. She didn't like the heavy strokes on her face or the usual 'Look here' or 'Look down'. "Zeke. Go away." she growled.
"And why should I? I'm watching you become pretty right before my eyes."
Victoria groaned and rolled her eyes, prompting the makeup artist to hold her head still as she also had a tendency to shake her head as she rolled her eyes. She swore she heard "hold still".
"Just get dressed." she said, shooing him away. Their older brother Adrian comes along with a sly look on his face, already dressed in a dark blue suit. He turned to Zeke and sighed.
"Get dressed, will you?" he said quickly. "Mum's going to tackle you herself if she still sees you looking like that."
Once he got into a nice black double breasted suit, he set off for Victoria's room again The makeup artist was gone and his little sister looked stunning in purple and black.
"Whoa, Vicky. Look at you. I'd never imagine a tomboy like you getting into this sort of thing." Zeke joked. The brothers laughed as she frowned and crossed her arms.
"Whatever." she growled and shoved them both in the shoulder.
"Remember what mum said now." Adrian said, straightening out her back. "Straight back, suck that in, there you go. Now walk gracefully and try not to break your heels."

En route to the Falklands, Zeke nervously played with his wedding ring. He longed to see his Mimi again as his parents disapproved of their marriage. He didn't care. He loved her too much to care. She'd been the best thing in his life that he ever experienced. But they had to be discreet about their love in this ball. It was risky to go off and kiss in front of the other nobility. They knew about the arranged marriages and it would be disgrace on his and her family's part if they were to be seen together. He sighed as he let his sister and his older brother go out of the limousine before he did. He marched along with them to the front door, meeting some people they knew along the way.
"Believing oneself to be perfect is often the sign of a delusional mind."

Princess Victoria Eve River sniffled and blew her nose into the tissue as dabbed the tears that filled her eyes. She threw the tissue away and inhaled deeply. ā€œCome on Victoria you can do thisā€ she told herself and swallowed hard. She wasnā€™t happy at all that she had to go to the ball and meet her future husband. She wiped her eyes and breathed in slowly. At least Liz will be thereā€¦she thought to herself a smile coming to her lips slightly, but did feel a bit jealous as she thought of Liz being in an engagement. She ran her fingers threw her hair and hoped no one notice she been crying especial Liz she did not want her to worry about her, she didnā€™t anybody to.

Victoria inhaled deeply then entered the bathroom as she took a warm shower. After a few minutes she left the bathroom, as she was wrapped in a towel. Then she inhaled deeply again and dried herself. Then she slipped into a golden strapless dress that push her beast up slightly, it was a nice tight fit from the waist up, but below her waist it was loose for she could twirl in a circle and it would slightly come off the floor, but just by a bit. Then she had some golden high heels on, for makeup she only put on a light pink lip gloss, and black eye liner on to bring out her light blue eyes. After she finish she put a golden shawl on over her shoulder that glitter slightly. She blow dried her hair so her naturally curly black hair was loose and lay neatly over the shawl as it went down to the mid of her back and maybe even a bit more. Also she had diamond earrings on and a diamond choker.

She walked downstairs, then outside as she seen the glossy black limo waiting for her. Victoria entered the limo sitting in the backseat as she sat up straight. After an hour they stopped in front of the Falkland's home. She waited for the driver to open the door. Once the driver opened the door she got out of the limo and walked towards the Falklandā€™s home. She greeted a few people with a fake smile on her lips and a cheerful voice even though her eyes were filled with unhappiness and sadness, but of course no body notice yet. After the greetings she entered the ball room and glanced around slightly to see who was there already.

Nicolette had never been one for balls, especially those involving floor length dresses, but Jared was going to be there and she knew that there was no way she could miss this. Sure, both of them could ditch, but how would the press react? She couldn't simply avoid going to one of the largest parties of the year. People would get suspicious and then gather the wrong ideas. Nothing was worse than that when going into a seat of power, regardless of how small.

Sitting on her bed in a t-shirt and jeans, Nicolette stared at her dress lying on her mahogany desk. Despite her hatred for ball gowns, this dress seemed to have enough edge to be considered perfect for her. It would get attention from both her prince and the press- win-win situation.

A middle-aged maid came in the room, her black and white uniform stained by whatever her parents had eaten for dinner, "The coach will be here in twenty minutes, Princess." Before Nicolette could respond, the woman had walked out of the room, her heels clacking against the hardwood floor and instilling a temporary headache. She released a deep breath she hadn't even realized she had been holding and hugged the dress as if somehow preparing herself to wear it.

She stripped, then delicately and cautiously pulled the orange dress over her curves. It fit perfectly, almost like the designer had created it just for her. But it didn't work like that. Although many designers volunteered to create masterpieces for the noble class, many of them wanted the rush of finding something perfect. Nicolette, not as desperate as some, went only a few miles before finding this dress in a smaller thrift shop. It had been worn a total of once by the past owner, and seemed to be in good condition. No one would've guessed that it was used, so she was perfectly safe.

Her reflection in the mirror seemed to be missing something, Nicolette ignoring the need to do her hair for the time being. An ancient jewelry box sat on a glass-paned table across the room from her mirror. Nicolette only went through it whenever something more formal than simple parties arose. Assuming that this ball fit those characteristics, Nicolette opened the box. It had belonged to her mother, one of the only gifts that Nicolette actually accepted as of recently.

The box wasn't too complicated. As she removed the lid, the front of the box fell forward, revealing a mirror and three drawers. The top drawer contained earings and were separated by colored popsicle sticks that her mother had pasted in as a child. The middle drawer contained the few fancier bracelets that Nicolette owned, the rest were wrapped around an old glass soda bottle that Nicolette had found beneath one of the many oak trees in the park only a few blocks away from the Enstroll Estate. The bottom drawer, the one that Nicolette was currently opening, contained all of the necklaces that had ever been within her family except for the few that her mother still kept near. She picked out her necklace and swiftly drew it around her neck, it falling at the midpoint between her dress and chin.

Next came her hair... Nicolette wasn't exactly sure how it was done, but she called in one of the maids to make put her hair in a reasonable, yet regal position. She also did a small application of make-up that simply high-lighted her features subtley without making too much of an impression. It was done far faster than she would have ever believed, yet the blaring proof was right there in front of her. Thus, the young princess was ready, and her ride had been ready for the past five minutes.

................

She arrived nearly ten minutes later in the dark limo, her preferences for cars not really mattering to her parents when they arranged for the ride. The Falkland house was much larger than she remembered, but perhaps because she hadn't been there since she was a teenager. There weren't nearly as many people coming in at one time as she had expected, for her car simply came right to the entranceway and let her out instead of having to wait for some other snotty noble to make their way up to the ballroom.

Nicolette exited the car and merely smiled and nodded towards everyone she recognized, if not knew. She didn't speak, there was no reason to. Not, at least, until she got to the ballroom. There weren't many people dancing, the music playing at a tempo that seemed a little too exotic to dance to. The young princess moved towards an open pocket between talking groups of people, marvelling at their own accomplishments and exaggerating to anyone with ears. A butler dressed regally in a charcoal vest and off-white shirt came around with a tray of white wine. He offered one to Nicolette, who accepted almost eagerly. She was going to need the liquor to survive this night.

Elena was the first one in the ball room, except her parents who were already there, looking as regal as ever. She rolled her eyes slightly, taking one of the glasses of red wine, her most favourite beverage of the trays going around that night, and she took a sip. It was a nice one, most likely expensive too, and old. She savored the taste, sitting down on one of the chairs in the ball room that had been set out. She placed her glass on the circle table and then sighed. The party would be staring up very soon.

"Elena Noelle Falkland! Sit up straight, straighten your tiara, smile, and for goodness sake, please remove your chin from your palm and take your elbow off of the table. You're supposed to be a young lady! How are you supposed to impress that delightful fiancƩ of yours if your seating posture is like that, mhm?" Her mother scolded her, and the young woman almost stood up and left the ballroom then. It was horrible, having your parents lecture you on what to do every moment of your life, and even more so when you were in front of people that you didn't know all too well. She had danced with a few men already, not honestly liking them at all, or wanting to dance with them, but just so that she could have a break from being with her parents all of the time She almost choked on the wine that she was sipping when her mother called Zander her fiancƩ, and she quickly scanned the room for him. She knew how much he liked her, and all she returned to him was feelings of friendship. Yes, she did feel mean, but it was something that she just couldn't control. Her heart belonged to someone else.. who still hadn't arrived yet.

Hidden in her dress was a small pocket, just big enough to hide her phone in and when it vibrated, a small smile played at the corner of her lips. Quickly, she pulled it out under the table, knowing that her parents would never suspect her of 'disgracing the family like that in public' and so she quickly tapped a reply back to him.
I'm in the ballroom sitting with my parents. Come and save me?

In a silent mansion full of rooms, there is a particular room which lies a girl. The light was dim as the girl sat on her bed, looking out the window. She knew today was the day to meet her future "husband" and try to get to know him, but she wasn't quite ready yet. However, there was no helping it. Time will go on as life would. People get old as time passes and then they die. Life. What a mysterious word. As this girl looked out the window, an empty expression is shown on her face. Only the eyes show any sort of expression, loneliness. Her parents had died a few years back, though the girl does not remember. She can't remember anything. Though when a fire is lit, she would show a fearful expression and react with fear. Too many people pitied her because of this. People gave her sympathy. This girl didn't want their pity. She didn't want their sympathy. She just wanted a friend. When Victoria, a princess just like herself, came into her life, her wish was granted. The girl couldn't have been happier. Nothing could have been better. She supposed she was fine with the arranged marriages. But something tugged on her heart. She believed that people shouldn't marry if they don't love each other. However, sometimes, people didn't have a choice.

Maria, her maid who had been with her all her life knocked on the bedroom of her door. Maria was a maid for her family ever since she was a kid, and even her parents served as maids. Maria came into the room, taking a look around the dim room. Elizabeth turned her head to look at her maid acknowledging her presence.
"Princess, it's about time for you to get ready for the ball. The Falkland's had generously invited us to their wonderful home. We must be on time, princess." The maid bowed to a 75 degree angle and went back to her straight position.
"Must I?" Elizabeth's voice was a sullen, innocent kind of voice. She spoke in broken syllables quietly.
Her maid responded. "Yes, princess. We must be on our way soon."
Elizabeth pushed back on the bed with her hands, going into a standing position. "I see."
Maria stepped forward and walked to Elizabeth's wardrobe and opened it, revealing many clothes, gowns, dresses, coats, and many other clothes, shoes, and accessories. Maria reached for a nice pink gown and showed it to Elizabeth. "Is this alright?"

Elizabeth nodded. She undressed her nightgown as her maid helped her into her gown. It fitted her fairly well, and it was one of the better dresses and gowns that she had. Especially the color. She liked the color which complimented her hair color. Though her hair color may seem odd and dyed, it is natural believe it or not. According to her maid, her families generations always had pink hair, or at least one of the parents. After dressing into the ball gown, she walked to a wooden chair that matched the small wooden table that held all her make-up materials and on the wall, there was a beautiful mirror. The frame was wood like the other parts, and it was engraved with much craftsmanship and detailed work. She sat down sideways as her maid took out a pair of rose pink slippers to match her dress. Elizabeth never did well with too high of a heel, and it was good that these shoes only had a slight heel to them. The maid bent down and slipped the slippers onto Elizabeth's feet and stood up again. The maid took out a diamond necklace from a drawer from the wooden table and placed it around Elizabeth's neck. The maid then reached into a different drawer that was part of the table, taking out a pink glass bracelet. She handed it to Elizabeth as she put it on, then turned herself around to face the mirror. She stared at herself as her maid began to work her way with her hair. Time worked its way as her maid pulled, twirled, sprayed, combed, and clipped her hair into place. At last, her hair was finished. Her maid then held Elizabeth's face gently, applying a slight make-up to her face. Foundation was applied with a little bit of blush. A very light pink lipstick was applied as well as a bit of mascara and eye liner. When all was done, her maid stepped back to allow Elizabeth to look at herself in the long, big mirror beside the wardrobe. Elizabeth pushed back her chair using her feet and stood up with her hands placed together in front of her dress. She carefully walked over to the long mirror, careful not to trip. A few seconds later, Elizabeth nodded. "This is fine. Nice work as always, Maria."
Maria bowed. "It's my pleasure, princess. As long as you like it." She walked over to the door, opening it. And with a gesture, she spoke, "Princess, it's about time we leave."
"Okay. Let's go." Elizabeth walked past the maid and the maid followed after her. After going down a few stairs, they opened the mansion's huge pair of doors and walked out. A pink and white limo with dark tainted windows awaited them. The limo driver took off his hat and bowed. "Shall we go?" The driver opened the door as Elizabeth and her maid stepped in. The driver then gently closed the door and went into the driver's seat, preparing for the long drive.

After an hour and a half have passed, the limo pulled to a stop a couple of yards away from the huge Falkland's mansion. The driver opened the door as Elizabeth stepped out. The driver then closed the door, but not before Maria whispered quickly, "Have fun, princess." The limo then quickly drived away. Elizabeth closed her eyes, her face facing the ground. She then opened them looking up at the night sky. The stars were pretty tonight. Like tiny jewels shining brightly with their own light. She then stared at the huge mansion, not recognizing it. It has been a long, long time since she came here. According to her maid, she had been here before when she was a child, before her amnesia happened. Elizabeth shook off the thought and gracefully walked towards the mansion, as people parted way for her. People noticed she was the princess who had lost her memory a few years back, and they murmured as usual. Elizabeth shut their voices out of her ears and walked on until she reached the huge doors of the mansion. She stopped for a second before entering. She turned her head to view the entire ballroom, looking at the many people who were taller than her. Suddenly, someone tapped her on the shoulder. Elizabeth quickly turned her head around, only to find a butler. Her eyes relaxed as the butler said with a french accent, "My lady, would you like a glass of wine?" Elizabeth shook her head and the butler walked on. She didn't like alcohol. Though she would love some milk. Guessing since it's a "ball", there probably isn't any milk. She closed her eyes in disappointment and opened them to find a fairly recognizable girl. It was Victoria. She smiled slightly and carefully walked towards her best friend. She didn't bother with the feelings her friend had for her. She didn't want to think about that for now. She was just happy that her friend came as well. Elizabeth had only realized her friend's feelings for her a few weeks or months ago. It was shocking, but it didn't matter to her too much. She wasn't sure about her own feelings, so she thought it was best to leave it as it is now. But then again, arranged marriages have come, changing the turn of events. Things weren't going to go well. She already knew most of the princes and princesses didn't like this coming of events, but what's decided is decided, right? As Elizabeth reached her friend, she panted slightly from the rush of walking. Even with the slight heels, it was hard for her to walk quickly or move around. "Victoria." The name came out in broken syllables, but that happened often. Elizabeth looked up at her friend, who was obviously taller than her like everyone else. She wasn't quite sure what else to say, she didn't socialize very often, and often found nothing to say.

"Come now, children." their father said, taking their mother's arm in his and entering the mansion. The trio sighed and entered, Adrian leading the little group. Inside was a grandiose ballroom and it was already filled with people dancing and chatting and drinking and doing whatever the nobility do in this sort of event. Zeke looked at how nice the whole setup was and he was impressed, though he still hated attending balls. His eyes darted around the crowd looking for Miriam. He missed her too much and he longed to see her again. But perhaps she was going to find her fiancee, as they were both forcibly engaged to total strangers, although they were also royalty. He sighed and realized that he had to find his fiancee as well and get to know her at least. He didn't like the idea of getting married again, but at least he could try and be friends.
"Something wrong?" Victoria asked worriedly, looking into Zeke's eyes. "You looking for anyone?"
"T-there's nothing wrong. I'm just looking at how nice this place is." he said to his little sister. He couldn't help but gulp at how she noticed that he was looking for someone. He tried scanning the crowd again, but he couldn't find her in the crowd. He decided to venture off, when his mother called him to stay with them as they were both looking for his fiancee to introduce her to him. Once they had caught sight of a pink-haired girl (and the only pink haired person in the Falkland's mansion) they knew to be his match, they both approached her with Zeke in tow.

Zeke's father bowed and Zeke's mother curtsied in front of this pink-haired girl, whose dress seemed to match her hair. They did not notice the other girl who was with her, hair a raven black and skin tanned.
"You must be Princess Elizabeth." his father said smilingly. "I'm Frederick Spencer and this is my wife Catherine."
Zeke tried to back up to look for Mimi, but he got dragged back to where his parents were.
"And son, this is your fiancee. This is Princess Elizabeth Alstreim. Princess, this is our son, Ezekiel."
Ezekiel forcibly bowed in front of her and tried not to make it awkward.
"Nice to meet you." he said in a half-sullen, half-delighted voice. It just wasn't his thing. He wanted to leave. He didn't want to have anything to do with any of this. He would've preferred to stand in complete darkness with a portable floodlight in tow than in this remarkably large and beautiful mansion.

Mimi slipped quietly into the country house, managing to escape without a grand entrance. Her parents had already informed the hosts that they were going to be late, so she had maybe an hour at the most to spare without having to act to charmingly. Once inside, the place already seemed busy, pretty women in gowns flouncing past, men in tuxedos. A couple of the elder members of society looked sideways at Miriam, her appearance not really fitting for that of a princess, not with her lack of make up and tousled auburn waves.

With a small sigh as she scanned the place for Zeke, suddenly, a butler was beside the her, champagne flutes held out on a polished silver tray. "Oh, no, thank you. I don't drink," she said softly with a half smile, swiftly moving away from the older man as he too, gave her a funny look. So, yes, she was as far away from a princess as you got in many ways, but she wasn't about to change to please people. This was who she was now and despite a couple, or rather a lot, of flaws she could see in herself, she was quite happy with the way that she was.

But then she saw Zeke and immediately her train of thought died.

He looked so handsome and the sight of him set her heart fluttering again. She would have addressed him had he not been whisked away by his parents. Mimi followed silently after, curtseying a few times where it was needed, her gaze always trained on her husband. And then her blood ran cold. She saw the pink haired girl, the name taking a while to come to her.. Ahh, Elizabeth, that was it. Zeke's betrothed. It had been the moment she'd been dreading, when her husband would meet the girl he should have always been with. What if he liked her in the end? What if they fell in love? The thoughts whipped through Mimi's mind, even though the rational side of her brain was telling her it could never happen. But the doubt was still there.

Suddenly feeling slightly overwhelmed the princess moved away from her husband and towards the back of the house. A door was open there, leading on to a beautiful area that overlooked the hilly countryside that was currently shrowded in shadow. The cool night air felt good on her bare neck and so that's where Mimi stayed, trying to gather her thoughts and prepare herself for the arrival of her parents, the arrival of her betrothed and more importantly, the possibility that she might not get to speak to her husband tonight.

Trensish woke late in the afternoon, his head pounding from the events of last night. In truth he was dreading this ball were he would have to see Jared talking and laughing with the girl he was soon to wed. He groaned at the thought and made his way to the shower. The water helped his headache, but only in the slightest bit. This is why he hated drinking, well that and the fact that he didn't know who gave him the bruises that now covered his arms and legs. He was guessing it was just some drunk he got angry with last night. "Lucky I was drunk." He said quietly as he ran his fingers over the marks that were left behind form a kick.

When he exited the shower he found that his tuxedo had been laid out on his bed for him. It was new and, from the look of it, it was picked by his mother. He put it on and tugged at the sleeves of the jacket and looked in the mirror. The grey/blue vest and tie were an almost perfect match to his eyes. He turned from the mirror and grabbed his cell, sighing at the fact that he had no text messages.

Trent walked down stairs, his keys in his gasp. "Where are you going?" His father bellowed from the living room.

Trent didn't stop walking, "Unfortunately to the ball."

"We are supposed to go to-" His fathers voice was cut off by the sound of the front door slamming shut. There was no way he was going with the two of them, especially since he would most likely require a few drinks after this lovely ball. He drove faster than normally from one hell to the next.
**************************************************************************************************************

He sat in his car, looking up at the house. "Maybe Jared won't come..." He said quietly, though he wasn't quiet sure if that would be a good thing or a bad thing. He took a deep breath before turning off his car and putting his keys in his pocket.

Trensish walked in and saw all of the people laughing and smiling. It was easy to tell that most of them were pulling bs, just like he was about to. A smile appeared on his lips as he walked through the crowd. He didn't see Jared yet. He looked around for Mimi, since he was supposed to be with her. His eyes landed on an open door at the back of the room were a girl stood. He walked closer before realizing who it was.

A part of him didn't want to see her, it would just seem to final, but then again almost anything was better than being in this room. He walked out, the cool air hitting him, "I think this is the best idea anyone has had all night." He said referring to her choice to stand outside. He walked a bit closer to her, the smile on his face was now gone, not feeling any need to fake it around her, she knew how he felt about this, "So, how are you?" He realised that he already knew the answer but still.

Victoria took a glass of wine, a butler offered her. She thanked him then took a sip of wine. She then turned around as she heard Liz say her name. She inhaled deeply and tried to smile, but failed. She felt sad and her light blue eyes clearly showing it. ā€œHello Elizabeth, how are you?ā€ she asked her voice showing no emotion as she didnā€™t directly look in her eyes. Victoria called a butler over as she gulp the rest of the glass down. She licked her lips then whispered something in the butlerā€™s ear as she took another glass of wine and put her empty one back. The butler looked at her a bit confused, but walked off to get what she asked for. Victoria blinked and watched as some people introduced themselves to Liz. Her heart sunk as she realized why and then she walked off quickly as tears burned her eyes, but she did blink them away quickly as her parents beckoned her to them. The butler Victoria talked too walked up to Liz and had a glass of milk with him, instead of wine. He cleared his throat and spoke to Liz. ā€œMiss. Eve has asked me to give this to you,ā€ he said then once he gave Liz the glass he walked off.

Victoria looked at her parents and bow formally. ā€œMother, Father you called?ā€ she asked gently as she looked at them. ā€œYes dear why donā€™t you go meet your soon to be husband,ā€ her mother said and her father nodded in agreement. She nodded and inhaled deeply as she walked off towards her future husband, but not before her mother took the wine glass from her. ā€œHello Prince Reynald Adam Cross, it is a pleasure to meet you, I am Vitoria Eve River your future wife so Iā€™ll soon to be know as Victoria Eve Cross,ā€ she told him her voice formal, but thick with sadness. Her eyes filled with sadness as she spoke looking him in the eyes, as her parents informed her to do. A tear ran down her cheek, she couldnā€™t do this it was too much. Before he could speak she inhaled deeply and wiped her eyes. ā€œIā€™m sorry itā€™s thatā€¦I just canā€™tā€¦ā€ she whispered, not able to finish speaking, as she ran from the ball room out into the empty hallway.

Victoria inhaled deeply as she began to cry, her eye liner make up getting ruin as it ran down her face with her tears. She went to the cellar and got a bottle of wine. Then she entered a broom closet leaving the door open just a crack. She swallowed and uncapped the bottle of wine. Victoria sat on her knees as she sat on the floor of the room. She then leaned against one of the walls as she took gulps of the bottle and began to cry covering her mouth with one of her hands for no one could hear her, barely. She wiped her eyes and just took gulps of the bottle wanting all the pain to just go away. She then began to think no one would love her anymore once she told her parents she couldnā€™t go threw with the wedding, if she did and Liz she told her she had feelings for her, but so far Liz hadnā€™t said anything yet, so she must have not been interested in her, no body seem to beā€¦Maybe she would just marry and learn to love Reynald, then still have her parents love, even thought they never showed it to her. She even wondered if her future husband wanted to get married because she just really didnā€™t want to get married to him. She bet he would make a wonderful husband, but he just wasnā€™t for her...Victoria kept thinking about this over and over again as she cried and kept drinking sadly.

Elizabeth smiled slightly and a bit worried. "I'm fine. Just call me Liz --" Her sharp hearing told her that people were coming her way. She didn't notice the small talking between her friend and the butler, but turned her head around to meet the new people who came up to her. She listened to these new people as they introducted themself, her smile falling into an emotionless face. Her eyes slanted towards her friend worried. She would love to go talk to her friend and ask what was wrong, but there were people in her way at the moment. She would go find her friend later. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly, but returned to their normal state. "It's a pleasure to meet you." She curtseyed carefully and slowly before going back to her normal standing position. Her eyes had turned from friendly to worried to cold as time passed. She must be polite, polite, polite. Her maid had lectured her many times before this coming of event to be polite. She always had a tendency to speak out rudely and coldly, except when talking with her friend, Victoria. Elizabeth blinked slowly thinking of what to say. As said already, she's bad at socializing. It would be much easier if this conversation would be lead by the boy. Plus, this boy didn't seem happy to meet her. Can't say she looked happy either. However, she rarely did feel these kind of emotions, the boy does feel these emotions though. So she could tell this boy wasn't happy.

Before she could say anything or continue further with her thoughts, a butler came up to her. She was about to shake her head when she realized it was a glass of milk. She looked up at the butler surprised, then tried to find her friend. However, she couldn't see her, Victoria was no where in sight. Elizabeth frowned slightly, but the emotion quickly wore off. She took the glass of milk and thanked the butler as the butler walked away. She held the glass gingerly and took a sip from the glass. Milk. The best drink in the world. Wonders why she doesn't grow much even when she drinks this much milk. Probably it's because she was born weak, and had always been a delicate and weak girl. Elizabeth sighed inside her mind. Still, milk is the best drink for her. The taste is rich and it just made you feel good. The perfect drink. That was when she remembered the boy that she would have to marry in the future. The thoughts only took exactly twelve seconds, but the small time of silence shouldn't be too awkward. She noticed a girl off to the side. What was the name again? She couldn't remember. She could notice the sadness the girl had on her and knew that this girl must like this boy that would be her future "husband." The girl seeming to not being able to take it anymore, moved away. Elizabeth pointed a finger to the girl moving away and looked at the boy by slanting her eyes, but not moving her head. She spoke in her normal quiet broken syllable voice,"That your girlfriend?" Elizabeth then quickly shut her mouth. That must have sounded rude didn't it? Now she couldn't keep her promise with Maria to be polite. Not that it mattered to her too much. "If you want, you can go comfort her. Seeing you aren't very happy." Maybe she was saying too much. She wasn't sure. "Seems no one is happy tonight. Everyone is sad or depressed." Elizabeth looked out the very high window near the ceiling where she was able to see the full moon. Even when the night is this pretty, people aren't happy. How interesting.

Elizabeth knew she, herself was hardly happy. She usually didn't have much emotions. Just when with Victoria and sometimes her maid, she would begin to feel emotions and feelings. She personally doubted this Ezey whatever his name was would make her happy. But the whole point of this arranged marriage business wasn't to be happy right? Seeing no one is happy. Or at least the ones who are getting engaged aren't happy. Especially her friend she could tell. Was it because of her friend's feelings for her? She wasn't very sure. Elizabeth sweeped a part of her hair that had gotten onto her face behind her ear. Why was the arranged marriage business made anyway? How mysterious humans are, despite being human herself. Elizabeth took another sip of milk from the glass that she held. Would she grow to love this Ezey person? Now that she thought about it, Ezey sounded like "easy". Was this person easy? "Are you easy?" Elizabeth asked. She didn't mean to say it out loud and she, herself didn't quite know what she was talking about. Maybe she was a fool, a maniac. More thoughts filled her head, and as more came in, the more random they were. She didn't know the cause of the strange though system, but she couldn't stop. When a thought led to her friend again, she became really worried. She was worried about Victoria. When Victoria walked away, being called by her parents, she had almost seen a tear. Or was it just hallucination? Maybe she wasn't getting enough sleep. Her train of thought went on until she decided maybe it was better to go check on her friend. Elizabeth looked at the boy and his parents. "I'm sure that you all want to meet other people and greet them. I'm afraid I must go, to the, you know..." Elizabeth blushed slightly from saying this. She was implying the restroom, and hoped they would understand so she wouldn't have to say it outloud. It was about the first time she had said this to someone. "Now, if you'll excuse me." Elizabeth moved back slowly, then turned around and headed for the restroom.

She pretended to head for the restroom, but as soon as the boy and his parents weren't in sight any longer, she turned and searched for her friend. She searched high and low, in every crack and room. Still, she couldn't find her. As Elizabeth walked past a broom closet, she heard someone crying. She quickly realized the voice and back tracked a few steps until she was in front of the closet. She peaked into the crack looking in, seeing Victoria drinking wine and crying. Did she do this? Did she do this to Victoria? She knew that her friend had feelings for her, yet she didn't...Elizabeth frowned and slapped herself on the cheek. Stupid, stupid, stupid her. She opened the door slowly with a worried look on her face. "Victoria?" She quietly asked this, afraid. Victoria had always been there for her, so it was her turn to be there for her friend. "Victoria?" she called again. At last, the door was all the way open. She reached out for the bottle of wine, but stopped mid way. "Wine is bad for you," she whispered quietly. "Especially drinking this much." Elizabeth knelt down, sitting on the floor and hugged her friend and stayed like that. "It's okay. I'll be here for you, always." Elizabeth tried her best to reassure her friend. Unsure whether or not it was helping. Still, she can't leave her friend to cry by herself. How long was Victoria here by herself. Stupid, stupid, stupid her. "Sorry, sorry, sorry..." No tears were shown on her face, but one slight tear was on the corner of her right eye. The wine scent was strong. She just realized this. Just how much did Victoria drink? The wine scent. Too strong. Too strong. But she has to stay here, for her friend. Wine, her head was feeling dizzy. Not now. Not now. She will last. She had always been sensitive to alcohol and caffeine. Being weak and all. But for her friend, she will mantain it.

Zeke tried his best not to frown but his efforts were fruitless. He couldn't help it. He'd been forced into something that he didn't really like, and he could tell that the girl felt the same way about the arrangement. Luckily his parents weren't there to see it as they had gone socializing with the other nobles and such. He sighed trying to let out the anger and insecurity he felt that time and tried to start a conversation with her, but he couldn't say the words. Then he pointed at someone from behind him. "That your girlfriend?"
His eyes widened as he turned back to see someone with tousled auburn hair walk away. Mimi. He tried to follow her, but he wanted to get his duties for that day over with. He at least had to entertain her in some way.
"That... That's my wife." he said straight, but in a smaller voice. "I... Uhm... I mean... I can't yet. If those two catch me away from you, I'm mincemeat." He tried to chuckle, but his face was still ridden with negativity. He couldn't make this situation a little more positive. He knew she had her heart set on someone else. And he knew very much that it was impossible for him to fall for her. He loved Mimi way too much to notice other girls. Because she wasn't like the other girls -- or rather, princesses. She wore her hair tousled to formal events, she didn't wear makeup or anything especially fancy, she was carefree and silent and laid-back, and there was something about her that made him want to know what made her tick. She was special to him. But now he'd have to divorce her so that their arranged marriages would push through. He would've rather killed himself rather than marry someone he knew he would never love.
"I guess you're right about that..." he said, voice trailing off. "It's either these people are expressionless or just really really sad. I guess the people here are victims of arranged marriage."
He didn't want to sound rude as well, so he chuckled even if it wasn't so funny. It was the truth. The people here also suffered from the heartbreak of arranged marriage. They would've probably understood the situation that they were in, but their sense of duty to the throne prevented them from pushing through with their real lovers.
"Are you easy?"
"Define easy." he chuckled. "Unless you're talking about Ezey, you could call me that."
He noticed that she too was having a hard time trying to collect her thoughts. He smiled a little and gave her a small pat on the shoulder so her weak frame wouldn't be hurt.
"Don't... Don't be shy." he said with a reassuring smile.
"Oh, well. I think I'd better get going too... Miriam's... Miriam's waiting." he said before he turned away abruptly to find her.

Zeke went to the back of the large house to seek solace in the silence. This was all too much for him. All he wanted to do was see his wife again. Not be introduced to someone he'd have to marry out of duty. He hated that part about being a prince. He had to attend to so many royal matters that even the personal matters weren't attended to. He wished that he was a commoner, living an ordinary life, not being followed around by media, not being curtsied or bowed in front of, not being given the common courtesy that royalty received. He just wanted to be normal, no extremely big royal duties to attend to. Just a normal life to live, a normal nine-to-five white collar job or a job as a doctor or a nurse or a teacher or whatever job there was. Having to work for his own money. Everything on his own. It was his own wish. While he thought about this and breathed in the cool air outside, he heard someone talking. "So, how are you?" was what he managed to catch as he turned around the corner and saw Mimi. She was upset which worried him so much. And she was with a man who he assumed to be her fiancee. He approached her slowly and gave the man a polite bow before he took Miriam in his arms.
"Miriam..." he said, taking her head in his hand and putting it to his chest. "Sorry for the delay, love. I thought I'd never get out of there."
He kissed her gently and then turned to the stranger.
"You must be her fiancee." he said with a small smile, though he couldn't help but be hurt. "I'm Ezekiel Spencer."
He held out a hand for him to shake.

Victoria watched as the door open and inhaled deeply, sighing. She looked up at Elizabeth, and then quickly wiped her eyes and then the rest of her eye liner make up with one of her hands not wanting to be seen like this. Her body shook slightly as she gasp for air, out of breathe slightly from crying so much. She watched as Liz went to take the bottle, but really didnā€™t care the bottle only had a few drops left in it anyway. ā€œPlease donā€™t be worried about me Iā€™ll be fine I always am and I do this all the timeā€¦the wine helps the pain go away even if its bad for meā€¦ā€ she told her gently, her tone still somewhat sad, but mostly it just sounded like a person who gave up all hope, she hated that Liz was worried about her. Victoria began to do this ever night since she found out she was in an engagement sometimes she even drunk more than a bottle and a few glasses then she just even cried herself to sleep at times with or without the wine, though it wasnā€™t good for her it did help for the next day she would be able to be herself or just even cheer others up if she had to.

Victoria inhaled deeply again as she took the bottle and just drank the last drops in the bottle licking her lips wishing there was more even if it was just a single drop. She put the bottle down as her arms wrapped around Liz letting her hug her and she did hugged back pulling Liz closer to her body mostly for warmth and comfort. She closed her eyes and laid her head gently on Elizabethā€™s shoulder. Victoria did listen to Elizabeth speak and opened her eyes as she pulled away and looked at Liz. ā€œDonā€™t say sorry you have no reason to be,ā€ she told her gently and wiped the tear that was on the corner of Lizā€™s right eye. Then Victoria blinked she could slightly tell Liz was feeling somewhat unwell or even maybe dizzy. ā€œOh Elizabeth you should of never came in here for meā€¦ā€ she told her as she stood up lifting Liz up gently as she lead her out of the broom closet and closed the door behind them, worried about Liz feeling ill. Victoria then turned around her back to Liz as she tried to clam down. She wiped her eyes once more, biting her bottom lip for she could stop shaking, but failed as her body kept shaking violently.

ā€œE-Elizabeth maybe you should go back to the ballā€¦Iā€™ll be fine, so donā€™t worry about me and just go try to enjoy yourself,ā€ she told Liz her voice still sounding a bit shaken up by crying. She didnā€™t want to be around Liz right now as she felt a little drunk and didnā€™t want to do anything uncalled for like kissing Liz or something like that and maybe even telling her parents about how she felt about this getting marry thing and her being a lesbian. After a few minutes Victoria turned around and rubbed her eyes slightly as she looked at Liz and smiled slightly trying to cheer herself up and stop Liz from worrying about her. ā€œYou look beautiful,ā€ she told her gently then walked passed quickly brushing her arm slightly with hers. Victoria walked outside into the chilly night. She inhaled deeply and looked up at the night sky smiling slightly. ā€œLooks beautifulā€¦ā€ she mused to herself out loud. Victoria frowned and as she seen the stars were clouded with dark mist in the air. She bit her bottom lip slightly knowing it was probably going to rain either that night or the next day. She pulled the shawl tighter around herself as she shivered. Victoria was terrified of Thunders storms and here there was one treating to come tonight or tomorrow. She sighed loudly as she thought about the horrible luck she had. Victoria went and sat under a willow tree as she leaned against it looking up at the moon while it shone down onto the yard and a few stars showing slightly threw the dark mist.

When someone approached her, Miriam was completely unaware of it, her mind being away from the party. She didn't cry, although she might have done if she got home that night without speaking to Zeke, just simply stared at the shadows, making patterns out of them as a cool night breeze swept around her bare shoulders. But then a voice cut through her reverie and she jumped slightly before turning to see Trent stood outside with her. Really, he was one of the last people that she wanted to see at the moment and she knew that he probably felt the same about her. Although she got on with Trent, there wasn't a spark because their hearts belonged to other people; they could never come to possess each others.

When he spoke, a small smile crept across her features although the expression didn't touch her eyes. "Mm.. It's better than being in there," she murmured softly, looking at him from a sideways view point. At least if they did marry - which Mimi didn't have much intention of doing - then they'd understand each other's feelings and it'd be a truthful relationship. When he asked how she was, she couldn't help but sigh and shake her head lightly as she turned to face him properly. "To be honest I feel like-"

But then she heard someone approaching.

Immediately her eyes lit up and she turned to the direction that she'd heard Zeke coming from only to find strong arms wrapping themselves around her. Feeling a little choked up, out of relief more than anything else, she buried her face in his chest and held him back, pretty much as if she could never let go. His smell, his touch; everything about him drew her in and she knew she'd never find someone that she loved so much again. And they were being forced apart. "I didn't think I'd get to speak to you tonight," she whispered just before she kissed him back. And it was true. She'd been mentally preparing herself for the worst all night and now the worst wasn't going to happen. Not tonight anyway.

When Zeke turned to Trent, she did too, an apologetic look in her eye. The last thing she wanted to do was rub in the fact that she could never love him, even though she knew he felt the same about her. But there wasn't any need to flaunt it and she felt slightly bad amongst the thousands of other emotions that were currently whirling around inside her body. As Zeke introduced himself, Mimi stayed stuck to his side and moved her hand until her cold, slender fingers clasped his free ones gently, giving them a little squeeze of reassurance.

Reynald strode across the ballroom, ignoring any offer of handshakes, conversation or dances. He looked ahead to see Elena there with her parents. He would ask her for a dance, take her outside and hopefully spend the rest of the night under the stars with her. It hadn't been an awful turnout... She did look stunning in that new dress she was wearing... Anyway, things would have gone like that, if his parents weren't talking to hers. He sighed and took two glasses of red wine from a passing butler. He drank them down so fast he practically inhaled them before putting the empty glasses on another tray and replacing them with a third glass. He strolled up to where his parents, Elena and her parents were standing and offered Elena his hand. "May I have this dance?" He asked, knowing full well that he was going to be interrupted.

"Reynald. You're late." Said his mother, shaking her head. "What is Victoria going to think? I bet you haven't even said hello to her, have you?"
Reynald didn't take his eyes off of Elenas. "Victoria can just go-" A waiter stumbled and dropped his tray on the floor. "-Herself."
"Reynald!" His father quietly shouted at him as he always did when he 'screwed up' in public. "She is your fiancƩ and you will treat her as such!"
"Yeah, sorry it's not her fault." He said, turning to his parents. "You two can go-" A second waiter slipped over on the spilled wine and dropped his tray. "-Yourselves." With that, he enjoyed the shocked looks on their face for a second before pulling Elena onto the the dancefloor. "Sorry you had to see that..." He said, placing his third glass on a passing tray.

He had to admit, now that he was here it wasn't so bad... Her folks knew how to throw a party, that was undeniable. They had a beautiful home as well... He couldn't live in a place like this though. It was far too big... His own home was more than enough for himself and... Well, whichever of the two he ended up with.

Trent smiled slightly and shook his hand, "I know who you are, I'm Trent." He said simply. He knew that the two of them would want to be alone, but he really didn't want to go back inside. He argued with himself for a moment before deciding to give them their privacy, "Well I'll leave you two alone." He he nodded to them before going back inside, taking a deep breath before he did so.

His eyes scanned over the people; he still didn't see Jared. He was starting to make his way to a corner where he was planning to hide when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to face the man and ended up looking into the face of his father. "Where are you going?" His father asked, the anger clear in his voice.

Trensish rolled his eyes, "See that corner right there?" He asked as he motioned with his hand. "That's where."

His father glared and pushed him closer to a wall, not wanting to scold him in the middle of a mass of people. "Why aren't you with your fiance?" It was easy to tell that his father was about to loose it.

Trent smiled, "Well I don't see her, do you? Perhaps she skipped this stupid thing just like I want to." His expression now matched the anger of his father.

"If we were home..." He threatened, his grip on Trent's shoulder tightening.

"If we were home we wouldn't be having this conversation!" He said in a whisper as people were nearing.

His father raised his hand, Trent not flinching, but walked away instead. Trent smiled, loving how much his father cherished his reputation. He returned to his original plan, making his way to the corner.

A million thoughts flooded Zeke's head as he saw Mimi and Trent together. He wondered how the both of them would fare if their parents made them go through with the marriage. He wondered if Trent would be a better husband than he would ever be and that made him even more insecure. He wondered if Mimi or him would ever move on. But despite all of these negative thoughts about the future, Zeke smiled. His heart and mind were assured that she was here with him now and that he needed to spend as much time as possible with her. As Trent walked back inside, he let out a small sigh of relief as he was thankful that he gave them both some privacy.
"Are you kidding?" he said with a hearty little chuckle. "I wouldn't let that happen."
He ran his hands through her messy auburn hair and took a better look at her face. The first thing that struck him was her light green eyes, then the expression in them as she looked at him. He held her in his arms again, this time more gentle.
"Mimi, I know it's hard having to be forced to marry but... Don't be alarmed. Sooner or later, they're going to have to fold. I just wish they would." he sighed and leaned over to kiss her.
"You worry me when you give me that look." he frowned.
