Real tired of that, also will gut the next person who uses the phrase" But it's a Katana". Any idiot can cut a pig in half with a dull blade let alone a sharp one. Kinetic Force and how it's distributed determines cutting ability. And in that department almost every sword is basically equal, design issues and techniques aside. Long sword and Katana alike....Anyway going to end that before I start ranting too much.

I don't even know where to start with you so I am not other then to say you obviously need less internet and much more time actually spent using all types of swords. That and a Katana is a bi-metal blade, and most of the sword was actually iron not steel. You know that wavy line down the blade, the hamon, shows where the iron and steel meet. In fact as a sword the Katana is a failure, the same results can be achieved far easily as the Arabs and Europeans proved. As a feat of metallurgy the Katana is a success but that point is academic.
