The Facility

Krein gave a yawn as he stood from his crouched position, his shoes now back firmly on his feet, several piles of items before him. One of pipes and poles, rusted, of course, another of miscellaneous fabrics and cloths, dust covered and with potential mold on them. Several piles of nuts, bolts, and screws, all rusted and potentially useless, although he was a bit concerned as to how many, if any, of these bolts and screws actually came off of the building itself. The night was approaching, and along with it the drop in temperature, perhaps it was time to pick room for himself to sleep in. He threw a large, thick, sheet of fabric that he had found over his shoulder, a cover for his den, should he find one. He didn't really like small spaces, but he knew that for sleeping a small shelter with this fabric covering it would make it warm enough for him. Although for a room he would like something a bit more open, perhaps one that has a large support beam in the middle with a multitude of other beams branching off it, like a giant metal tree. He would also like the floor to be covered with large poles or pipes that he could snake and crawl through, or hide within if need be, which would also save him the time of having to create his sleeping area himself.

After searching through several potential rooms, he found one towards the end of the building that suited his needs, it wasn't exactly what he wanted, but it was closer than any of the other rooms he had been in. It also had some windows that faced the east, meaning the sun would shine in with its warmth once it started to rise. As a bit of added luck there was a nice pile of pipes and other assorted junk that seemed for form a nice, small, den practically right under the window. This room felt homey already, he simply spread the sheet atop it, and anchored it to the ground by placing some heavy stones at the corners, the rest of the room would be fine as is.

"I wonder when the rest will arrive," he asked himself, he left the room he had chosen and went back to the room with the main entrance, once again climbing up to the ceiling, through the hole, and out another hole in the room. He sat atop the roof, looking out in the direction of the entrance, waiting for everyone's arrival.

Jared shifted, feeling his arms start to hurt again. "Hey, um, Kathleen? Do you have anything to numb the pain for me?"

[And in a freak accident, the medicine will knock him out for several days. Until I get back. :P Bye guys.]

Kathleen tosses him bottle of pills, but OH NO! THEY'RE HORSE TRANQUILIZERS!!!
Why does papa have these... She wonders as Jared falls unconscious to the floor.

Elesh smiled as she walked down, only to find Jared out cold. She put a hand to her face and sighed, wondering what he had done to himself to leave him out cold. "The building is clear and we got some of the power to work. However there's a human that was using the building for hiding his stuff, but he said he's let us use the building." She said, rolling her eyes at the thought of that human checking in on them. She already had two on their side (one of them she didn't trust at all). However the building provided enough shelter for everyone, but she waited for the go ahead to go back from doctor Kathleen.

Kathleen

Kathleen stood and brushed the dirt off of her now more appropriate Cargo pants with a white T-shirt and a matching jacket. She had loaded her pocket with supplies and was ready to go.
"Alright everybody, grab a bag and lets move out!" She handed out bags and helped assemble everybody. She knew they were probably not going to make it back before it started to get dark...but if they tried it wouldn't be long after. She asked Elesh, "So tell me about this human you saw?"

Aello

Once they returned she made her way over to where Shane should have been...but he was gone. I hope he is okay... she thought as she made her way back over to Eesh and Kathleen, who were talking about the man they had met.

Kylar picked up Jared and sighed, "back to the life of a pack mule." Kylar picked up the pace, after the doc had pulled the bullet out his leg felt much better. Kylar was starting to get hungry again, he had eaten the two apples he saved a while back. So he asked out loud to no one in particular, "Will there be food there?"

Kathleen tips her head and says, "Well there are perishable food items in some of the bags. Once we ge into town I can stock up on food. Luckily this city is known for its orchards, so you shouldn't have to go too far to find some fresh fruit. The trees grow wild in the area." She noticed he was carrying Jared again, "he is going to be out for a while, I appreciate you carrying him. Do you mind if I walk with you?"

"Sure no problem." Kylar said not even thinking, what he was thinking about was the fact that he was supposed to eat about 5,000 calories a day and he was running on 500. Kylar's stomach growled out so loudly it echoed. Kylar's mind wandered off to all the food he would ask Kathleen to get him, "Strawberry's, apples, bananas, and lots more." Kylar said out loud on accident, he didn't notice though.

Kathleen picked up her pace to walk next to the tall boy. She hears him list off some fruit, and his stomach growl. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out 5 granola bars. She hold them uo to Kyar, "DO you want them? I'm not a fan of banana." I hope I can learn something about him while we walk, he has been so kind... Her heart is racing in her chest, she didn't notice how fast the boy could walk until his mind drifted off.

Kylar threw Jared over his shoulder and took the granola bars and shoved one in his mouth with out taking off the package, then spit it out and fiddled with it for a few seconds and managed to get the wrapper off, he quickly ate them all in two or three bites. Kylar looked over and noticed that she was panting and that he was at the front of the group. He slowed down to a much slower walk. Kylar looked over at her face a noticed how quizzical it looked. Kylar asked, "You know doc if you got any questions I bet now is the time to ask, so ask away."

"Not really questions," she says, "Just curious. I know the lab rats didn't treat you well..." she hesitates, "But I hope you can see past that now. Do you think you could be happy now?"

Shane walked through then darkness into the light of the room where the others all stood, readying for the trip ahead. They were headed to their new home. Finally having a place to call their own was gave the human spider hybrid a warming feeling in his heart. The kind of feeling that made him sigh with a smile. Shane rubbed the back of his neck as his eyes locked onto Aello. The feathers on her wings caught the faint breeze in ever so slightly. Her eyes were searching for someone that wasn't there. The knowledge that Shane was that someone made him smile. A part of him wanted to go hug her. To pull her in close and kiss her without any fear of awkwardness or caution. His natural rationality got the better of him however and he settled with walking up behind her and gently taking her hand in his. As she turned and their eyes met his he gave her a warm smile.

"Hey you... Sorry I'm late."

The moment his hand took her, Aello knew it was him. Somehow she recognized him, by the softness of his skin, and the tenderness he cared to use as he interlaced his fingers into her. She turned her gaze to meet his, and fell on his sweet smile.
"Hey you... Sorry I'm late."

The deep tenor of his voice instantly calmed her.As she leaned her body into his she took his other hand as well, and touched her nose to his, giving him an Eskimo kiss "I missed you." Her smile is wide and genuine, and her grey eyes peeked over blushing red cheeks.
Her heart was beating in her chest, Why did I just do that??? she scolded herself, she wasn't even thinking, she was just so happy to see him. She didn't hesitate to bring her body so close she could feel the heat coming off of his, holding his hands were ok, but then...I was so close to his face! she realized...the embarrassment caught up to her in the form of blushing and giggling.

Kylar was about to answer but then he got distracted by something else he walked of the path a bit and found a metal water bottle. He picked it up and continued walking. After about five minutes Kylar said, "Oh yea you asked me something... uh, oh yea, they treated me okay really I guess, they fed me, and such. But they didn't have the one thing an Elephant really wants, the thing that will make me happy. Do you know what that is doctor?" Kylar looked at his feet while he talked watching them go back and forth back and forth, he never realized how big his feet were compared to a humans. His feet were at least 3 times her feet size and the doctors said he wouldn't stop growing until his forties.

Shane smiled and pulled her close as the girl broke out into giggles complete with full face blushing.

"Eskimo kisses? We can do better than that."

Shane said before he leaned in and their lips met. This was completely out of Shanes comfort zone but it felt right. WIth her he didn't feel nervous or afraid to say what was in his head and what was in his heart. He didn't care about social taboos or making a mistake. Shane was willing to accept her as a whole and he felt confident she was willing to do the same. He took a step back breaking off the pure electricity of their kiss and llooked into her eyes.

"C'mon, lets go. Don't want the others to leave us behind."

Kathleen

Kathleen thinks for a moment...unsure she guesses, "Peanuts?" then giggles to herself, "That's all I got," she shrugs, "But if you tell me I'll be sure to get whatever it is for you!"

Aello

Aello walks with Shane, interlocking her fingers with his and resting her head on his shoulder. Happy...
"Shane, do you think you can use your web to help me build my nest?" She thinks of the room she wants, top floor facing east. There is a nice big window.
His web will hold up a nice nicely... She thought...She blushed at the thought of him helping her build where she would be sleeping. Where she would most likely lie up and stare at the stars...wondering what he was thinking.

Kylar gave her a dead stare and said, "What is a peanut... Eh I don't care, what elephants need is freedom to chose and to move as they... I wish. I don't have that but I will." Kylar realized that peanuts must be the crunchy rocks that the guards threw at him.

Kathleen blushed at being so far off, "I'm sorry Kylar, but you have that freedom now...kind of," she wiggles her thumbs.
"I'm sorry if I have been asking a lot of you...we wouldn't have gotten so far had you not helped us," she looks up at him and says, "Thank you Kylar."
She continued walking next to him, and tried not to make a huge deal over the whole situation, she didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

"No I don't and none of us will have it until all the people at the facility are dead, and I mean dead." Kylar said, he didn't like killing but he knew when it was needed and he knew that the time for killing was now. "Plus we have to save that Joanne girl don't we. I say we get money together, buy guns. Than Blow the entire facility to the ground of course without the girl in it, but I've never been much of a planner you guys can do what you wish I suppose." Kylar said with a slight snarl on his face.

"Sure. Thing is, spiders web naturally deteriorats after about a day so I might have to come up every once in a while to patch up the silk."

Shane said with a smile as the pair walked. Shane was calm and almost at peace for the first time in his life. The worries of the facility and the people there. His own existence as a hybrid being. The things he'd done as an assassin. All his cares were lifted for a short time as he walked hand in hand with Aello and he savored every moment of it like a cup of warm cocoa on a cold winter morning. Shane wondered how far it would be to their new home and began thinking of how he would construct his own quarters in the location.

Aello looked up at Shane and smiled. She enjoyed walking with him, she knew she would have made it there hours ago had she flown...but she wanted to be here with him. The forest smelled damp, and the sun was setting lazily as the group made it to the old factory. Kathleen went in to search for Skylar and the others, Aello and Shane took in the sight of the building. It was old, and run down...but there was something beautiful about the way nature ahd taken it back. Thick lush vines and moss grew about the building, and there were holes in parts if the roof with plants coming through. She wondered if nature had taken it back as much on the inside.
She points to a window on the top floor, it's large and most of the glass is still in place. "Up there is where I will be," she says to Shane. She blushes a bit, and adds, "Maybe you can have a room on the top floor too?"

Elesh tossed and turned in her sleep, hissing every time she flipped or turned to make herself more comfortable. But every time, she kept hearing something. It sounded like whispers at first, but soon it got louder as she delved deeper into her sleep. 'Elesh...Elesh...come here little one...' The voice was her own, but dripping with murderous glee. Her eyes opened with a start, but she still laid there looking around for anyone that was in her area. But there was no one that she could see in the darkness. "It just a dream heystack...calm down...maybe a little night air will clear things up for ya." she said, getting off the hanging bed.

She wandered outside of her room and into the factory, able to see anything in her way in the darkness. She could hear that the rest had already started making their way toward the factory, keeping time with the setting sun. She remembered that she would need to fly into town later tonight, but part of her apprehensive about it. The city was a place full of humans, and she was sure most where not as...accepting as the human that they had run into while scoping out the place. She flapped up to on of the larger pipes about midway up the building and hung up-side down with her feet, her eyes in thought and her wings wrapped around herself. 'Maybe the run into town won't be so bad...'

Kathleen called out to Skylar, "Okay, be careful!" as she waved. She wandered into the old building, seeing that Skylar had done very well. She started organizing the bags and dispersing supplies about the main room. She worked busily flitting about the room, making neat piles of ropes, chords, and blankets among other things.

"It seems everyone made it just fine" Krein said to himself as he looked down to see the arrival of the group, he slid back into the roof and out the ceiling to escape the chill air that was beginning to come about. He gave a yawn as he slid onto the beam just under the hole, he looked down, as the others made their entrance into the building. As he looked down he noticed Elesh hanging from a pipe a bit below himself, he smiled slightly as he slid his way down. He managed to gently crawl onto the pipe and coil a leg around it, hanging from it next to Elesh.

"Hey," he said as he gave a smile, "you ok?" he asked as he looked at her. Her eyes seemed to be in a bit of a trance like state, thinking about something, was something troubling her? Or was he just over thinking it? The chill of the night air was starting to make its way into the factory as well. He rubbed his arms a bit, he wondered if he could get some warmer clothes for the nights, although he didn't have any money. He wondered a bit on just how easy it would be to 'borrow' some money from the people in the town without them noticing. Would that be wrong of him to do, even though it was for necessary for him to survive? He shook the thought from his mind, he would decide when the time came, and turned his attention back to Elesh.

Eden slowly opened her large golden eyes. She sat up from where she had been curled up in a corner and gazed about the large space. Everyone seemed to be getting all settled in. She stood up, her back cracking from laying on the floor. She popped her shoulder once and sighed, now fully awake. Looking up, she saw Skyler about to head out the doorway, to hunt, presumably. Acting on impulse, she bounded up to him and tapped his shoulder. "Hi Skyler," she said. "Do you mind if I come with you?"
