Shane put his arm around Aello as the two looked out of the window to the city.

"Yeah... I was there this morning. I'm thinking about going back later. You should come with me. MAybe we can have a date like a couple of regular people."

He said with half a laugh.

Aello looked at him with awe, "You went to the city? I want to go!" She got a little excited, then the reality that with her feathers? and her talons? She would most likely never set foot in that city. Even though she was free, she was still shackled by her appearance.
Though...She thought...I would love to go on a date one day...[/i] She beamed up at Shane, "I'd love to."
They're moment was cut off by the sound of Jared walking up the stairs.

Jared peered out into the room and saw a glimpse of the two close hybrids. He stopped for a moment, running his hand through his hair. They looked so peaceful he didn't want to disturb them. The silence hung in the air surprisingly comfortable. He shook himself and coughed loudly. "Sorry for interrupting," he said awkwardly. "But Kylar got hurt and we need some help moving him into a better spot."

Pulling up the loading docks door and throwing the deer into the room, "Me and Eden brought some grub." Skyler spoke with a large smile. He was honestly impressed with how Eden handled herself while she hunted, no being as fast or as strong Skyler had the advantage from the start but he made the game more in her favor. Also Skyler wondered if she would handle her side of the agreement and with a smile he brought it up looking over his shoulder "If I am not mistaken you owe me something for my victory Eden." Skyler laughed softly as he walked further inside, he wondered who would be able to cook deer well if he had too Skyler knew that it wasn't that hard. Although it would have no taste due to lack of seasoning, shrugging and looking off to the side he called out for Kathleen preparing to ask if she had something to clean and cook the deer with.

Krein thought for a moment about what Elesh had said, in the end, she was right, it would put everyone in danger if something were to happen within the city. Although he did still want to go, even if it were just the outskirts as she had suggested. In the midst of his thinking, he felt something starting to coil around his leg, he looked down for a moment to see what it was to find Elesh's tail having found its way around his leg. He simply smiled for a moment and said nothing about it, he didn't mind, in fact it felt quite warm.

"Alright, let's go," he said, reaching out to grab her hand, "but let's keep our feet on the ground," he said before Elesh could bring up anything about flying. The memory of the last flight was still fresh, perhaps he would get used to it if it happened often enough, but he probably wouldn't give it the chance to come up. He turned to start walking for a moment before he remembered the tail that was around his leg, it probably wasn't the best idea to start walking with it there as he would probably pull on it, as well as trip up Elesh in their travels.

Elesh nodded, the outskirts should have things that they need. Clothing stores and hardware was what they needed, and if careful they could come back with a considerable yield. "I wasn't thinking of flying actually, it would make us noticeable." she said starting to walk toward the east. When he grabed her hand though, she turned a slight shade of red. Her tail uncoiled from around his le as she walked, looking ahead to keep from showing her blushing face. In responce, she started making a mental checklist of what to bring back for not only herself, but for the rest of the group back at the warehouse. 'grill for a smoker, blankets, solar panels, small coals maybe, and a heater...?' her mind started to wander to other things.

A peaceful life, no tests, no being forced to kill, no shocking for refuasal. It was nice, albeit that she'd have to hide to keep the human populice from freaking out on all of them. She glanced toward krien for a quick second, debating weither to tell how she felt, but decided against it for the time being. She didn't know how he'd react, and only knew him a little bit. 'well he is handsome I suppose....NO! NO! NOT NOW!'

Shane turned and looked up at the young man standing behind him. Jared, the guard turned hybrid sympothizer. Shane was still on the feence about the guy but he hadn't betrayed them yet so he was willing to at the very least give him the benefit of the doubt. Relectantly he pulled himself away from Aello and got to his feet.

"I'll give you a hand. What happened to him?"

"Fainted and hit his head," Jared explained briefly. He moved up the last few stairs, bringing the rest of him into sight. "Got cut, but Kathleen's helping patch him up. We just need some help moving him." His voice felt abnormally loud in the wide open space of the top floor and he scratched his prickling broken arm's cast as he finished with, "He's down outside of the doors."

Eden huffed indignantly. She reached out and gently tugged on Skyler's long silver ponytail. It was untamed and mussed, but looked as if it would look rather impressive when fixed. As she was thinking this, Eden suddenly realized that she'd had no experience with fixing anything, let alone something as simple as hair. She felt her face turn red and she hoped Skyler wouldn't turn around and see. "Eh... You want it braided, right?" she asked, half trying to stall. She didn't want to end up embarrassing herself. It was an easy task. She could certainly do it, at least she tried to convince herself she could. Eden let out a heavy, determined breath and eyed Skyler's hair closely, inspecting what she had to work with.

"Mhm, down the back. My hair gets in the way when I do things, so I usually have it braided... But I don't know how to braid hair" Skyler spoke laughing at Eden softly, he walked over to the stair case sitting down motioning Eden over. The redness that was in her cheeks faded a little as he called her " It would be easier to braid if I'm sitting right" Skyler said smiling at her, he wondered if she even felt like fixing his hair well a deal was a deal no matter how one sided. As Skyler looked over to her he was stunned even after the hunt she looked beautiful, untamed and wild he couldn't help to smile in her direction as she mad her way to him.

Skyler wondered how the rest of the hybrids were doing, their first day moving in but everything was so peaceful and tranquil. If this would become their new life style forever Skyler wouldn't mind, as long as he wasn't alone anymore. It still ate him up inside, the loneliness and pain trying to keep a smile he shot the thoughts away thinking of Joanne and Eden.

Shane nodded not saying another word. The pair walked in silence down the stairwell to the ground floor. The guard and the hybrid. It felt odd walking with one but Shane dismissed the awkward feeling. Jared was no longer a guard and he was no longer a prisoner. He'd have to come to terms with that and embrace his freedom if he was ever going to be happy. He was greatful for Aello. She made him feel normal, almost human even. SHane turned and looked at the ex guard as they walked. His curiosity giving voice to his concerns.

"So... you wanna tell me why you took the job? What made you wanna be in charge of keeping us freaks and monsters in lock up?"

Shane asked as the two continued their descent. His distaste for everythig the facility was and did was evident in his voice.

Eden sat down a few steps above Skyler to get a better angle. She tried to remember how, if she'd been shown at all, to braid hair. She drew a blank. Now, she decided to try her hand at logic. Remembering the appearance of a braid, she figured that you began with three separate strands. Careful not to pierce his skin with her claws, Eden carefully split the silver ponytail into three. Next step. She paused, feeling her face flush red again. Lowering her head and closely examining the hair, Eden bit her lip, slightly stressed. She didn't want to make a fool of herself. Gritting her teeth and focusing hard, she tried to figure out how to form the braid. Her hands started shaking. Nothing she tried worked. She refused to give up, trying one strategy after another. Even something as simple as a braid was an impossible puzzle for her. Eden was about to give up, when suddenly- she got it. It looked like it had been formed correctly. She let out a small squeak of joy at her discovery. She began forming the rest of the braid, feeling almost happier than she had while hunting with Skyler.

Yawning as Eden got the hang of braiding, Skyler felt extremely tired he has been awake for at least two days and ongoing. The only thing he could imagine was falling asleep in his cozy king sized bed, but that was apart of a past life shrugging his shoulders to keep himself awake a little longer propping his elbow on his knee and holding his head up. Skyler slowly began to drift off to sleep just slightly keeping himself awake, "...Eden, thanks for everything your are so pretty..." Skyler quietly finishing the sentence as the last few words were nearly audible. Skyler felt his body go limp as he gently fell asleep, falling back into Edens lap within a few minutes due to pure exhaustion. He would congratulate Eden if she did an great job despite having a large wolf sleeping on her, Skyler just couldn't keep himself awake any longer.

Jared was jolted from his thoughts by Shane's question and he glanced to his side at the hybrid. He shrugged uncomfortably and turned his gaze back in front of him as he continued to step down the stairs. "I was assigned to the facility," he said. "I really wasn't in charge of anything." He watched the stairs move by as he spoke. "And I honestly didn't want you guys among humans. After what those 'researchers' did to you and trained you to do? I have a family, and there are innocents out here." Jared turned to Shane again.

"But Kathleen trusts you guys, so I will too. You've shown me that you aren't as far from being human as what you seem think." Jared walked down the last few stairs and stifled a yawn. "Kylar and Kathleen should be out there." He pointed out the door.

Krein looked towards Elesh, and then the direction she was looking to see what it was that she was talking about. A large building was starting to loom over them, having multiple doors on its face, one being open for anyone to enter. He wasn't sure if it was the best of ideas to go into an unknown building so quickly, but it was a start.

"Before that.." he said, stopping and looking towards Elesh before letting go of her hand. He worked at the make shift cloak he had been wearing and pulled it off of himself, "try this on," he said putting it around her before she could answer. "It probably isn't the best thing to wear, but it could be well suited for hiding your wings under," he tied the cloak around her, as well as adjusting a few segments here and there. "You can also put up a hood," he said pulling it up from behind and above her head, but soon pulling it back off of her, "but if you do that I won't be able to see your face as I would like," he gave a smile as he spoke. He turned and looked back towards the building, "should we go?" he asked, holding out his hand.

Kathleen
Kathleen greeted the two as they approached, she had stopped his bleeding, but he was still unconscious. She looked over to Jared and said, "Thank you, I'm sure you could of helped me...but I didn't want your arms popping out on me again," she laughed a bit as she touched his arm. Looking to Shane she simply said, "Will you help move him from a sitting position onto the bed? He can rest there for now."
She had set up the main room with the food and water they brought with them. Her father had a real taste for slimjims and dried fruit, among the various other supplies he had left for her. She had it layed out on an old table, separated into dried meats, dried fruits, and bottles of water. She also unpacked the medical supplies and made herself a makeshift "nurses office" on the first floor. In the corner she had piles of blankets, all folded neatly. She looked around the empty room and thought, If only I could get to my storage locker in th e city...I could bring all my old furniture...
She turned the Jared and asked him opinion, "Do you think somehow we could get to the Downtown storage facility?"

Aello
Aello walked down into the main room, and saw Jared, Shane and Kathleen. She smelled something pretty bad, and began sniffing around. She looked to Kathleen and Jared and said..."When was the last time you two took a shower?" Realizing her statement was a bit rude she added, "I mean there is a room upstairs thats filled with showers, they're all lined up with curtains between them. I think that guy said that the water was running."

Jared winced at the mention of his "arms popping out" and grinned at Kathleen. As she entered the building again, he stayed back for a moment to nod at Shane before following. He watched her look around and then turn to him. "Me?" Jared nodded in answer with barely a thought. "I don't think I can carry too much with only one arm, but I can manage."

There were light footsteps and the ruffling of feathers. "When was the last time you two took a shower?" Jared stared at Aello as she immediately realized what her question sounded like and explained. He began to laugh.

Finally regaining himself but still chuckling, Jared grinned at her. "I could do with a shower - though I'm slightly worried about what kind of water will come out in those showers." He imagined rust-filled liquid and decided that he'd rather not take a bath at all then stick any part of his body there. "Why would water be working anyways?" He mused. Another thought struck him. "What 'guy'?"

Aello looked at Jared quizzically,"...has no one told you? Someone else was using this factory before we got here. He has been hiding his stolen goods in the floorboards," she makes her way to the center of the room to tap the floor boards. The sound is hollow.
"He said we could use his warehouse to stay in, as long as we guarded his goods. I'm sure he will return soon..." she paused to add, "He knew about the Facility...he wasn't afraid when he saw me."
She gestures toward the lights flickering above them, "Did you not notice that we have power here? I suppose this is his warehouse..."

"I believe we can," Aello chuckled, "After all, we have all of his treasure here. It's a win-win situation...We get shelter, and he gets guard dogs."

Jared nodded. "I guess before I go anywhere, I should clean up. Kathleen, did your father pack any spare clothes? I suppose this warehouse might have some since it has everything, but it might take a while to find them." His arm was irritatingly itchy and he scratched at it through the cast. "Then maybe afterwards we can talk about why you want me to go to the downtown storage facility."

Kathleen

Kathleen replied, "Yep, you are about his size at the time that my father packed this, so...there is a bag full of things that might fit you..." she paused as she she looked through the bags "They might actually be a little tight on you..
She handed him a blue duffel bag with the name "Adam" stitched into the side with green lettering. She gave him a little smile and grabbed a red one that said "Emily" with yellow letters. I wonder if my mothers clothes will fit me?
"I think I need to clean up to," she turned to Aello and asked, "You said they were lined up locker-room style right?"
Aello replied, "Well they're are walls between each shower and there are 20 showers, 10 on each side...I don't know what his "locker-room" is but..."
Kathleen patted her head ans d said, "Thank you Aello," she turned to Shane and thanked him as well, "You too Shane."
"Shall we go Jared?"

"Both" Krein replied after a moment, looking towards all the shelves filled with essential materials. The area was large, it could take them quite a bit to look through everything, picking out what was needed most and what could be left for later. "Should we split up?" he asked, looking around thinking of what is needed most and trying to find the object at the same time. At the same time another thought popped into mind, "How should we take the materials back?" he asked, perhaps if they were lucky they could find a bag, or sheet that they would pile all the materials into for easy carrying. If not, would they have to make multiple trips back and forth to have everything they need? He continued to look around, his head going from right to left as he gave the question. He was also a bit curious as to what was on the top shelves, as he couldn't really see from the ground, some of the best things could be held at the top. He wondered if there were any clothing, although the night temperature wasn't cold for normal people it was for him. Since he is a snake hybrid he can't regulate his body temperature as well as normal people, although he wouldn't freeze at the cool night temperature, he would start shivering if he were to be exposed to it for too long.

Kathleen took the first stall on the left side, she listened and waited for Jared to pass her before she began stripping. She folded her clothes and layed then on a bench, and turned the water on. It took a moment but steam soon filled the room. She walked under the water and let it roll over her. She reached over in her bag and found a travel kit with some soap and shampoo. You're so smart dad...
She called out to Jared in his own stall, "There should be body wash in your bag."
She squirted her own soap in her hand and began cleaning herself, and washing her hair. The hot water, the thick lather of the soap and shampoo rolling down her skin, and the steam filling the stall...they were all wonderful things she had learned in the last few days never to take for granted again. She stood in the water until her skin started to prune, then turned the knob off.
I should have brought something to towel off with...
"Hey Jared, you didn't happen to grab a blanket or something did you?"
