Eden flitted through the shadows of the forest. She was careful not to wander too far. She would be electrocuted by the tracking probe in her upper arm if she stepped outside the boundaries of Facility grounds. She learned that years ago.

Pausing beneath a large tree, Eden drew a deep breath and looked down the hill at the Facility. Plain, windowless buildings basically comprised it, along with a watchtower that subjects were forbidden to climb.

She saw some other subjects below. As was her nature, Eden cupped her paws around her mouth, careful not to poke herself in the face with her claws.

"Hi everybody!" she called out and waved.

Letting out a deep sigh looking up to the young woman calling out to the rest of the group, Skyler stood up stretching, running his hands through his silver locks walking forward. He didn't find the young lady to be annoying by the way she presented herself, but at the same time he wondered what type of mutation was done. He noticed her paws, and laughed at such a primitive form of mutation since she did not have thumbs. "Hello Madam" Skyler spoke stepping forward with a sight smile hoping to present himself in a friendly way, hoping to make his first friend since he was released in to the general public. Extending his hand out as well in a sarcastic fashion, waiting for a kind response.

Eden blinked her large golden eyes. She had no idea what "madam" meant, but she supposed it was something good. She eyed his outstretched hand with curiosity. Strange person. What was he doing? Eden interlocked her claws and looked up at him again, an eyebrow raised.

Pavel twiddled with a dandelion between his black fingers, plucking the petals out one at a time and watching them drift lazily down into the grass. He sat in the shadow of a large oak, knees drawn up to his chest. Nothing much had been happening lately in the Facility, no missions, only standard training, and Pavel was beginning to think the white coats had lost interest in him. He was bored, and restless.

He didn't have to look up to recognize the light footsteps that approached him from the side.

"Hi everybody!", Eden called out to him and the other subjects. He flinched a bit at her loud voice, it penetrated deep into his mind, cutting off the (somewhat) quiet of the forest that had before. These instances were something he had gotten used to a while ago, though he couldn't hold back the common tremor.

"Hi, Eden," he said, a small smile twitching on his face. His eyes still concentrated on the flower in his hands. He liked Eden, she made him laugh sometimes. She had always been around when Pavel was growing up, practically a sister. Though, he wasn't very appreciative of her killing methods. He thought back to the last kill he saw her perform, the blood and guts painting all the walls, as well as the ceiling. It must take them forever to clean it all up.

Pavel jerked his head up, his amber eyes connecting to her golden ones. "Anything interesting going on?"

Only if he was THIS bored, he would ask what Eden thought was interesting.

Relieved from guard duty, Jared had been in his small room assigned to be his living quarters. It was sparsely decorated and felt metallic and cold, but it worked. He was out of his normal guard uniform and dressed in casual pants and button up shirt as he sat at his small desk. Jared finished typing a message on his laptop and sent it out. Then he yawned as he closed his laptop and stood up. Stretching himself, he looked around for a moment. His break was still on for a few hours. In fact, even the experiments - no, he corrected himself, even the children had been let out of the building and allowed to roam the outdoors for a "break."

Jared left the room and began moving towards the exit of the building. He wasn't on duty but he wanted to watch them. Hopefully, he could see them have some innocent fun that was usually robbed from them. Outside, he saw a group of them heading up the grassy slope of the hill and towards a small forest kept on the facility. Faintly, he thought he could hear one of them, perhaps Eden, calling out something cheerfully. Jared moved along the shade cast by the facility building towards the watchtower. The top was usually empty apart from one or two guards keeping an eye out for major escapes or maybe people trying to get into the facility. It was also Jared's favorite spot. He would be able to be alone and he would be able to keep an eye out on the subjects.

Eden smiled at Pavel. "Well, I caught a fish! It was pretty and silver and it tasted delicious." she sighed and closed her eyes, remembering the taste. She opened her eyes again moments later and tilted her head to one side. "Sooo... Whatcha doin'?"

Krein breathed in deep as a slight breeze passed by, only letting it out when the calming wind subsided. He couldn't help but crack a small smile, his mind wandering off into a distant land as he leaned back, relaxing, at the base a large tree. All his muscles relaxing and becoming loose, it felt as if the rest of the world around him was beginning to melt away, leaving nothing but him, and a quiet, empty realm. As his mind wandered, his strange and embarrassing habit managed to show itself. His mouth cracked open slightly, his forked tongue slipping out slightly and a slight hiss passed through his lips, it was out of his control, and unfortunately unknown to his conscious mind. He was only brought back to reality by a shout of greeting from the distance. As his mind snapped back, the realization of what he was doing was brought to light, he quickly retracted his tongue and forced a hand over his mouth, his eyes looking around for anyone that might have noticed what he was doing, a bit nervous and embarrassed.

He looked up, through his hair, to see who it was that had given the call, as he noticed the girl above them he was thinking to give back a call of greeting, but thought against it. Instead he sat up and gave back a slight wave back, although after he had done so he was at a bit of a loss as for what to do. He simply sat, pondering as to how he should interact, what other reaction to give, or if there was truly a need to give a response after acknowledging her arrival. After a moment of thinking he couldn't come up with anything more to do, he simply let out a sigh as he leaned back against the tree once more, still thinking of something more he could do to interact with the others around him. As he thought his mind began to wander once more, his bad habit showing itself again.

Pavel let out an aggravated sigh, "Absolutely nothing. I'm bored out of my mind."

He looked behind Eden, where an unfamiliar subject stood. Pavel’s brows furrowed, trying to remember this boy, but drawing up a blank.
“Who are you?”

Looking over to the young looking man speaking to Eden, Skyler stood back retracting his hand and kind gesture dropping down to all fours taking off in the other direction stretching out his legs. Once again Skyler's chances of finding a common friend was blocked by another experiment, leaping into a dark oak tree with brittle branches allowing his body to plop down. "Well damn, all alone again" He said to himself relaxing on the damp oak branch, gazing over to the field he had just left laughing to himself. "Friends, never had em damn sure don't need them now" Skyler spoke to himself. He listened to the conversations below him laughing at the simpleness of Edens speech, none the less he found something interesting about her, so oblivious but cute.

Closing his eyes allowing the cool breeze to brush past his face, Skyler thought of nothing but the cold lone nights in the facility. The facility where he was forced to murder his so called "mother", opening his eyes again only too look upon Edens face becoming calm again. No one else had peaked his interest in years, he waited and listened hoping to get the chance to interact with her soon.

Joshua Mitchell

Josh was hanging out in a tree. He was dropping rocks on the guards' heads. He was giggling but as soon as he was at taserpoint, he stopped. Josh gathered his rocks and put them in his hiding spot. Rocks were a rarity, considering that rocks often were stomped into the ground or ended up on the Facility roof, or outside the barriers by some throwing them. Josh had colpected them and other baubles and put them in a plastic bag inside a hole in the trunk of his favorite tree. He jumped out of the tree and ran uphill to the barrier. He had been wondering how it worked.

Every time he got too far, he got zapped. Even by tree he got zapped, and it was the same radius from any dirrection. Once Josh had jumped from a tree, but he didn't even get zapped 'till he touched the ground, only a little buzz in his arm.

Josh looked at the marks made in the ground, marks showing how far out others have reached, or just some wanting to mark where the barrier was so people can stay inside the barriers.

Pavel looked at her curiously. Madam...

"I've never heard it before. It's a very pretty word though," he added. He stood up, looking to where the other subject had leaped off to.

"Hm... why'd he go?" Pavel asked Eden. "He thinks your interesting, you know? You could see it in his eyes."

"There's been a mix-up in the schedule. You won't be able to enjoy the rest of your break right now," one of the guards at the top of the watchtower told Jared. "You're assigned to keep a close eye on the experiments. So go to the forest now. There's no time for you to change back to your uniform so just go like that."

Jared gaped at the other guard. "You're joking right?"

"No. And why are you complaining? Even when you're out of uniform you have your guns and whatever else with you." Jared looked down at his belt and the holsters with his guns hung on them. “I don’t know why you’re so paranoid with them when we all have our tasers and we can activate the probes implanted in them.”

Jared shrugged uncomfortably. “Doesn’t matter. Alright, I’ll go.” He left quickly and now found himself jogging easily up the hill. His eyes flicked around, watching for any quick movements. He doubted any of the subjects held him in higher regard than the other guards just because he didn’t participate in “games.” He was still human and a guard after all.

Pavel looked down, expressionless, knowing Eden wouldn't be expecting what would come next. Suddenly, he launched himself over her, whacking her on the head (and messing up her hair in the process), landing on four legs and dashed up to the nearby trees, calling, "You're it!"

Shane Lawson

Within the facilty that housed the genetic mutations that now served as supernatural assasins, one young man was alone. Some boasted strength while others boasted speed or even more amazing they boasted flight. Yet one soliatry figure hung in the darkness of a cold room. There was no light in the hollow room and in the darkness an eeire feeling hung heavy in the air. To open the door to this particular room one would come face to face with a room filled with spiderwebs so thick you could not see through them. Webs whose strength could hold a man in thrall in seconds. A young man hung there in the corner ofthe room, hanging by a single silken thread. Shane Lawson hardly felt human anymore. More spider than man. He could hear a few of the others palying out in the sunlight. A part of him wanted to join them. Feel what a teenager should feel. Joy, freedom, youthful carelssness. These things were all strangers to Shane and he hated that. He hated what he had become. He hated himself. More than anything he hated them. Those bastards that did this to him and took his life away. He felt powerless as of now yet a fire was burning inside the young mans heart. The fire to rebel.

The butterfly on Kylar's finger finally flew off as the other people had started to talk. Kylar adjusted the shock collar on his neck,he had a shock collar because the little chips they use for the others couldn't stop him if he really wanted to get through the fence. Kylar stood to his full height, his ears perked up as he heard some of the younger ones playing. Kylar was hungry, he was always hungry they didn't feed him enough. Kylar being one of the oldest was kind of the person that stopped little fights and the such. Kylar began to start practicing some of the martial art moves the instructors had showed him. They had set out bags for them to train on if they ever wanted to and Kylar always did, it felt good to hit the bag and hear the sounds of thunder that came back because of his immense size and strength. Kylar kicked the bag one last time and the chain snapped. Kylar shrugged and laid down to use the bag as a pillow, he was asleep in seconds.

The sky is so beautiful today, Aello thought as she gazed out into the serene crystal sky before her. She perched in a large tree, and just listened to the other sounds around her. She could hear the leaves hum as the wind blew through the trees, she could hear bugs chirping loudly in the hot air.
She stretched out her arms and yawned, That was a pleasent nap
Off in the distance she hears a voice, not any birds voice however. This is quite peculiar, who is breaking my piece? She barely even noticed the tracker clamped to her right leg anymore. Constantly flashing a green light, tempting her to fly too high. Falling hundreds of feet after electric shock is not very pleasent. She reached out and grabs hold of the brances above her and uses her sharp talons to push herself to the top of the tree. AS she breaks the canopy the sun shines down hot on her. Her feathers shine like falling snow, and she stretched her arms out.
Now what made that sound? now she can hear more voices, very distant but she can make them out. She gazes over her treetop domain and sees a girl standing atop a peak in the distance, and what looks like others below her.
Should I...? She was never really the friendly type, most of the doctors at the facility hated talking to her because she always seemed angry. What they didnt realize was they made her that way, and now it was time for her to make some friends. Alright...lets try not to be a complete b**** to them... she thinks to herself as she takes off into the air.

Well it seems at least a few of them are having fun, Jared thought to himself as he saw Pavel and Eden chase each other around. He had seen the elephant one - Kylar - sleeping and Jared thought he had seen a glimpse of something take flight somewhere else as well. Probably the bird girl Aello. But he knew there were others around the forest and he couldn't help but feel slightly wary as he continued to look around. He doubted any of them would attack him or could completely defeat him in seconds, but he'd rather not tempt fate.

#, as written by KuroRyu
A small sneeze managed to bring Krein back to reality, he retracted his tongue and sat up, stretching and giving out a yawn. He sat for a moment, wondering how long he had been spaced out for before his mind descended upon reality once more. His legs gave him a bit of a tingling sensation, signaling that he had been sitting in the same position for a bit too long, with a slight grunt he forced himself up onto his feet, dusting off any dirt and fallen leaves that were stuck on his pants. He stretched his arms straight up and bent back, looking up at the sky, his back giving away several cracking sounds, he let out a breath as he did a few stretches to get the feeling back his body. He glanced around a bit, looking at the others around him going about their own business, he couldn't help but give a slight grin. If he didn't know any better it would seem like just a normal bunch having their own fun, and living at their own pace, for now it was peaceful.

He stood thinking, wanting to do something other than just sit, because as for now, his behind was telling him to not use it for a while. He thought this, but he didn't quite know what else there is to do, or could be done, out within the forest, besides climbing a tree. He looked up at some of the trees, wondering if any of them would be a tree that could bear fruit from their branches, although he was quite sure that that would not be the case. Although to the option to sit and ponder about what ever it was he would like was out for now, he decided wasting the serenity of this forest would not be such a kind option to himself. He stuffed his hands within his pockets, and started on a slight stroll, his eyes flickering back and forth, from tree to tree, branch to branch, and eventually down to the forest floor. He gave a grin once more, starting to hum a little as he strolled along.

Aello scans the ground below her and spots a couple run into the forest to her left. She glides through the air and takes to a dive. The branches come at her fast as she dives through the tree top, but she has never once hit one. She just flits through with ease, avoiding the branches withing centimeters of her long white feathers. She thrusts her legs out in from of her and gracfullly lands on a branch a few feet away from the couple. Some leaves fall and a tig snaps as she settles, I hope they didn't hears that... She sits and watched the two frolic and play with eachother. Some part of her wants to call out to them, but on the other hand she has never really been great at interacting with others. She talons sink easily into flesh and she herself is so delicate. One false move and she could lose too many feathers and be rooted to the earth for weeks. Someone always ends up getting hurt. For now she watches, forming her opinion of the creatures before her. I have never needed anyone before, why should I interact with them now? Will they even like me...or are the doctors right? Am I truly meant to be alone.
She ruffles her feathers and scoffs. Aello was always strictly regulated. Her ability to fly made her hard to control and for the mojority of her life she stayed in a cage. She always knew of the world outside of the facility, she used to be able to fly high enough to see the ocean. The sensor on her leg prevents her from flying any higher than the watch towers now.
THe doctors hated treating her,she never cooperated. She always lashed out and make a scene. This may in face be her first interaction with somene who isnt going to stick her or run tests... but something inside her sitll hesitates.

Jared had been walking through the trees as well when he saw Krein and stopped in slight surprise. He hadn't expected to find another of the subjects so soon. What was this one's name again? Something that started with a K... Jared resisted the urge to touch his gun to reassure himself and smiled slightly when he remembered the man's name. Knowing that the other had already seen him as well, Jared decided to try to be polite and calmed himself down. "You're... Krein right?"

After a few minutes of chasing Pavel on the ground, Eden jumped onto a low tree branch. She jumped along the branches of different trees, still trailing her friend. Once she was right above him, she jumped and landed right behind him. She stuck out her hand and tapped him with her claw.

"You're it!" she exclaimed triumphantly. Then, she turned on her paws and raced through the shadows in the opposite direction.
