The Multiverse

Setting

One of the largest city states on Pramia’s main continent of Brightmaiden, Abingdol Falls is nestled on the edge of an extremely steep 430 foot cliff on the continent's East Coast. Its back is to the Aegirs Ocean, strafed by the two great Lyles and Jackzies rivers that flow right off the cliff in two of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in all of Pramia. The city is about 220 square miles, surrounded by a fifteen foot wall to keep out the wild animals of the overwhelming Acklewood Forest

If you’re searching for a good time you can’t go wrong with Newman Square. Named after the technological genius Alfred Newman, Newman Square is Abingdol Falls’ central most and largest entertainment district. Here visitors have a chance to experience almost every wonder the world of Pramia has to offer, all within a walk’s distance! There are several theaters displaying the cultural achievements of Abingdol, along with many exhibition centers showing off the engineering prowess of far off Knightheart Valley. And when it comes time you’ve found your stomach has emptied with all of the mind’s enjoyment, visit one of the many high-end style bistros and restaurants that litter the streets, almost every meal is made with the finest ingredients Trivington Hills has to offer.

But be wary during your stay in Abingdol Falls, for not everyone can afford the level of luxury that the city’s elite can. The southeast district holds some of the most dangerous slums that one can hope to avoid. Poverty is commonplace, and it’s residents have come to accept it as their way of life, however there are quite a few citizens who aren’t so tolerant of the blatant and vast difference in wealth and status that they hold. So keep an eye out for any suspicious persons, and the other eye on your wallet.

And so with open arms and a genuine smile, the Unitary Republic of Pramia welcomes you to Abingdol Falls, the city of steam.

Over the ever cascading falls a mist would gather, mingling in with the morning fog. Hardly anyone would notice the unusual anomaly, for the earliest hours of day were usually a-shroud. Despite the gloom, the city was beginning to bustle. Abingdol Falls was early to rise, newsies setting up post and cogcycles tick-tocketing to life. On every street something was happening, for it's very true what they mumble about urban places such as Abingdol Falls. They never do slumber.

There went a smartly dressed gentle sir on his way to the bank, pushing pedals and pumping steam on his cogcycle. He had given his ma'am a kiss good-day and good-bye, happily away-ing for a day's pay. He whistled a tune, taking off into Abingdol Falls. On his morning route, there was always the same newsie he bought the morning pape off. Today a thrence, yesterday dos and a half. The price always changed but it didn't matter to he who had money to spare. Pape under arm, he puttered along around a corner, into the the thick smell of bread. Wasn't it delicious, the morning bake? He devoured the scent in passing, pumping around another corner and straight towards the highlight of his morning route.

The bridge. He never payed a care to anything but the view this part of the trip. Eyes glued over the horizon, the man barely noticed the unusual thickening of atmosphere. It wasn't until he couldn't see before him that something seemed amiss. Slowing with a steady clang, he rolled through the cloud and gripped hit hat.

Wasn't he thankful to ticker out alright on the other side, and continue on his route? The fog had obscured most of the view over the Lyles river, as it poured over the cliff. It had also obscured the sudden and random appearance of a young man and a young lady, right there on the bridge. They weren't there, and then they were, bracing themselves against who knew what in the fog.

The maiden, hair like fire, opened her eyes first. Where were they? It was light here, that was for certain. She shook the male's arm, and the fogs began to dissipate. As the mist faded back to the normal morning damp, Genevieve Bird's jaw would drop. She didn't know it now, but the beautiful city before her was called Abingdol falls. Behind her she could hear the waterfalls. Her stomach fell with them. Could this be real?

Silas opened his eyes, the roaring in his ears having died away. Light blazed down on him, a marked contrast from the cavern. He looked around in open, silent astonishment. Was this...heaven? Was he dead? He looked across, seeing that he was still holding on to Genevieve. Her hands were soft, and nice. It was an odddly intimate moment, and with a woman he barely knew. It made him feel weirdly uncomfortable. They had both expected death, and yet...here they were.

"Wow." He said, simply. "If this isn't Heaven or the Afterlife, I want my money back." He joked, weakly. The soaring sights around him were...simply incompataible with what he knew of the world, of what he had seen. It was somehow more fantastic and yet more mundane than even the wildest descriptions of Heaven, Hell, China and the very edges of the Earth.

"How did...No..why..I mean...WHERE are we?!!!" He shouted, trying to reconcile the events of the last few minutes with his present location. He reluctantly let go of Genevieve's hand, and began to wander about, looking about in frank astonishment. "Have you EVER seen anything like this?"

She honestly had no answers to his questions, besides to simply stand there with her mouth agape. Not a very flattering position, but it didn't matter. Here she was, in a grand city somewhere, she had no idea where, holding the hand of a man she just faced death with.

Had they died? Genevieve felt him let go. She didn't think so. It smelled...Well, like a grand city on the edge of a waterfall. Heaven probably didn't have a smell, right? How...why? Looking around at the cobblestone and brick, still with morning flog clinging to it, she spotted a paperboy. No, she had never seen anywhere quite like this.

The man on the cogcycle continued forth, wobbling slightly as the voice of a man cut through the fog. Where was who? He didn't have time to turn back, lest he would be late. Most likely lost tourists, still drunk from last night, lucky to have not fallen over the falls in inebriation. He tisk'd.

Never,
Genevieve responded, closing her jaw and running to the rail to look over the falls. Mist carried on the wind and dusted her lashes. A laugh bubbled inside of her. This was truly spectacular. Silas's excitement was infectious. She couldn't even help it. She laughed. Genevieve let the sounds gush with the water of the falls, looking from them to Silas with bright eyes.

He walked around, marvelling that the ground seemed so stable and smooth. He could feel the faint mist-spray of the waterfalls, cascading like liquid light down through the city. On the air he could catch the faint scent of copper, of burnt coal and other industrial scents, but the water seemed remarkably pure for such a large city.

He looked back at the marvellous, strange woman who had accompanied him to this Paradise, this World Beyond Worlds. He'd read Johnathan Swift and some other fantastic tales, but even that couldn't compare with this.

There was something oddly invigorating and strangely childlike about the experience he had shared with this laughing woman. He found himself reassessing her through new, haunted eyes. He still hardly knew her. Could it really have been less than an hour? It felt like a lifetime, already.

Holding her gaze, he found himself wondering which mystery fired his passion more. This city, or Her.

"First time for everything." He found himself saying, but for once the double entendre wasn't the first thing on his mind. "Well, let's go find out where the hell we are. Maybe they have something to drink. I think after that we could both do with some ale, or something stronger."

He began to wander slowly, looking for people, tavern signs, or shops. As much as he was keen to discover this great place, he also felt like he couldn't do it alone. Unspoken, he knew that he and Genny were in this together, now.

The young woman, with mist drops clinging to her red hair looked back at him, laugh fading but smile staying. This was amazing. Truly adventurous. She had no ship, it had been destroyed back on Terra. This didn't diminish the bright in her eyes. She had no crew, most of them hadn't survived the crash. Yet, her posture did not falter and her weapons were still in tact. She had no faith, for who could after being whisked in random storms all over the universe? However, here she was.

Genevieve nodded,
Ale or mead, either'll do.

She looked around as well, pointing to a street sign at the end of the bridge. It read Lyles Link, a clever name for a bridge Genevieve thought. Above that sign was another, plated gold. It read, Overfall Chain. That must be the name of the road that connected the bridges, and ran over the edge of the waterfall. This was quite the strange place, but spectacular.

Farther than the bridge shops could be spotted. This was a nice part of town, obviously. A paperboy stood on the corner of some other street and Overfall Chain. He wasn't on his soapbox just yet, still munching on a croissant. There was a bakery nearby!

Maybe we should head that way?
One hand was pointing still.

He nodded, and began to head towards the nicer part of town. Truth be told he knew he probably looked even more like riff-raff than usual, but if they wrote signs in english then they probably spoke it too, and he was confident that he could charm himself anywhere where the King's English was spoken.

He patted down his pockets, finding a handful of silver coins and copper coins. He had a gold coin concealed in his boot, but he was saving that for real emergencies. Otherwise, he'd have to rely on his wits.

Passing the paperboy, he decided to see if he could find out a bit more about this town. "Hey, you, boy! Whats the headlines for today?" It was a cruel trick, since he had no intention of buying a paper, but it was an easy way to gauge what this place was, and what it found important and newsworthy.

Once the paper-boy had anwsered, he looked around, and found the smell of delicious, baking bread much stronger now, wafting from up the street. He'd prefer a good strong ale, but some bread in him wouldn't go amiss either.

"Hungry, Captain?" he said, with a grin his eye.

"'Ewman Square's go' cel'bration t'night, Sir," The boy held the paper out of view, swallowing the last bite of baguette before piping on. "Real fancy-show, you from 'round Abingdol?"

Genevieve looked around for the delicious smell while the paperboy prattled on, turning her grin on Silas. "Starved, kind sir," she sassed back, whipping her hair as she looked in the other direction. Where was that blast bakery? Ah. We're on Smert Avenue. Good to know. She kept the names of places in her head, going over inventory of her coins. She didn't have much, but enough.

"Ewman's square, eh?" Silas pretended to know what that meant. "Perhaps, Perhaps." he said guardedly, in response to the boy's question, knowing that confessing to being a rube or an outoftowner could get them marked for pickpockets.

"Well, when in doubt, follow our noses." He said to Genevieve, and began to wander further up the street, admiring the shops and their fine windows. He ran his hands along a tall, brass lamplight, marvelling at how clean and functional it was. It all looked like it had been forged yesterday, and he'd not seen such common-place street lighting outside of the most fancy parts of London, yet it seemed to be a mundane element here.

"How do they keep everything so clean?" He wondered. The streets weren't exactly spotless, it was true, but the cobbles were relatively free of the traces of human effluvia and animal waste he was so used to seeing in real cities, which this one surely could count itself as.

"They must have alot of gong farmers, or a huge sewer system." He wondered aloud. "They probably even bathe more than once a month, hygiene freaks."

Passing the Overfall Chain, he spied a tiny, many-windowed shop, loaves of bread and even cakes on full display. Truly, this -was- a nice neighbourhood. Any plucky sod could brick the window and help themselves. He'd not seen any sign of any Watchmen, either, or street urchins besides the paperboy come to think of it.

This city's almost too perfect.

Genevieve flashed a smile at Silas, wandering along besides him. Follow their noses indeed, an instinct she had tuned as a pirate. Glorious clothing hung in many windows they passed, but Genevieve felt little desire for the luxurious adornments. They weren't practical, or durable. Would a silk dress last a mist demon storm like these bad boys? Genevieve thought of her pants.

Yes, the place was very clean, and shiny. Brass and metals were everywhere, along with steam. Human odor wasn't caking her nostrils, either. Genevieve nodded, imagining bathing more than once a month. Sometimes she did, coming across fresh flowing water more often than the average person but...

It had been a very long time since her last bath, not counting the mist storm. Surely she stuck out like a sore thumb in this pristine neighborhood. With the perfectly swept streets, and the brightly shining lamps.

And that bakery over there all lit up pink and purple. Genevieve tugged at Silas's arm. Food. Ahead.

Silas chuckled, sensing Genevieve's obvious hunger. He found himself warming to his new travelling companion, and her seeming lack of guile in the things she desired. He appreciated honesty, that rarest of treasures, though sometimes seen as a flaw by the weak-willed.

"Patience, Captain, the Bakery's not going anywhere." he chuckled, and led her into the shop.

Immediately he was almost overwhelmed by a cornucopia of scents, fresh bread, sweet cakes, the tinge of sugar, spice, and flowery scents. It was warmer in here, as expected, and there was the noise of humming ovens coming from round the back. He saw there was a finely polished brass bell on the counter, which he promptly rang for attention.

"Let me do the talking, I'll see if I can haggle us something. Try not to look too hungry." he whispered to Genevieve, smiling.

Genevive flicked her hair and took up residency in front of a glass display of particularly shiny treats. They were all sugar glazed and colorful, frosting twinkling back at her. Genevieve hadn't had a real sweet in what felt like forever.
Her eyes then slipped to gear-shaped granola treats. Interesting enough, and much more practical. She tilted her head, seeing a large brass dispenser in the back. It had pipes running here and there, up to the ceiling and out of sight, as well as four or five colorfully labeled spouts. Someone turned around, holding a glass of frothy milk, and came to the counter.

"You rang?" The man asked, placing the glass of milk on the counter in back for later enjoyment.

"Yes, Hello, my good man! My travelling companion and I were drawn by the truly irresistable scents of your fine establishment, and, being curious and lovers of fine patisserie, we were curious to see if your wares truly lived up to their magnificient scent and no doubt esteemable reputation." Silas swaggered, putting on the airs of a noble dandy, using his best aristocratic voice, taking care to imitate body language aswell as the haughty tone. He had spent some time observing the rich and foolish, and found he could imitate them reasonably well. He just hoped the baker didnt smell them too closely, as their travelstained garments and recent passage through a salt-mist might give them away.

He then leaned in close to the man, and whispered inches from the ear. "Naturally her Ladyship would be ever so delighted for your indulgence in this matter, and discretion." He winked at the man.

Truth is, he didnt know who was nobby in this city, but he found that wherever you go certain attitudes prevailed, and he was confident that if his ruse worked, the baker might become so busy in his fawning over them that they could accquire free samples, or perhaps things at a reduced price.

"Watch the master at work." He mouthed silently at Genevieve when the baker's back was turned.

The baker shifted from one foot to the other.

He got a lot of 'em in here, the pompous type of fiddle and what. They rambled on, and on, two dimes past the clock turned bored. It was best to lend an ear for they'd return it with a hefty tax most usually.

However, these two were scrubby and grubby, the girl especially despite his assertions at her lady this. If the sugars of his shop weren't so sweet would he smell their odor in the morn? So they smelled from afar, over themselves he wondered almost aloud. Instead the man baker resorted wisely to his milk, grinning and turning, a plan in mind.

Genevieve raised a brow, wondering what Silas was up to but paying no heed. There were quite the many cakes before her; she had quickly moved along from the gears.

He had a tart, you see, of special bake. A new recipe, a berry or three arranged in such a way the sensation did stay...almost all day. Sweet, then tart, then till death do you part. He liked to call it, Lover's Cake. Oh this baker knew better, for there was something special about these berries three, beyond the lingering taste and temporary glee.

He returned with the tart, but grabbed the sparkler on the way. The maiden had eyed it earlier, before skimming over the gears. Though vindictive the man was not a fool. To ignore a customers eye would be to slice one's thumb off in a pie.
Bad for business.

Silas smiled, convinced he was gulling the baker. He carefully got out what money he had, though still concealing as best he could how much he had. He held his purse lightly in one hand, thoughtfully, considering the cakes with a conisseur's eye.

"What do you make of it, My Lady? It seems acceptable to me..." He said, frowning. "Its true they do look appealing...." He sighed, and tapped his lip with a finger, as if contemplating.

"Perhaps we should sample a little of one. Not that I doubt our baker's excellence or honesty but we really cannot be too careful these days, can we Ermintrude? Why, just the other day, we were passing some lovely bakeries over in the City and well, they smelled sweet but the fillings..." He made a face.

He hated to insult the man, however subtly, but he found he enjoyed such pretense rather too much. Plus, he was hungry too, now, damnit. Those cakes really were to die for.

No samples on the daily, he thought retreating the treats a bit beyond nose's reach. He eyed the coin bag, debating how eager he was to tempt these young buds with a taste of destiny. If-haps they would have the tart, the sugar sweet would be a prize along side. The baker toyed with the idea.

Genevieve looked after the delicious sweets and eyed the milk machine. Of course the baker caught on at once, and leaned towards a sign behind him.

Milk: ||~
A reasonable price.

Genevieve had no idea what any of that meant, and stared blankly, much to the blank stare of the baker. He turned his attention towards Silas, assuming even further Genevieve had little brains.

Silas didn't break character or his smiling when he saw that the Baker had withdrawn the treats. So. We have a savvy one. Noticing Genevieve's interest in the Milk, he saw the sign and chuckled to himself. This Baker was -really- savvy, all right. This was going to be interesting.

"Well, my good man, you have peaked my curiousity. I wonder, perhaps, though, if this selection, nay, this veritable Cornucopia, whilst exquisite in its presentation, might not be the entirety of your wares. Indeed! Might I venture forth to guess that these pieces, whilst teasing, do not satisfy my connisseur's eye because you keep the truly magnificient products- No! artistic masterpieces, in the back?" His grin split his face from ear to ear, as he regarded the Baker as a hunter regards a cornered bear. The trap, he felt, was well sprung, and he looked forward to seeing how the Baker reacted.

Considering the cakes, he decided that, if it came to it, he could probably safely snatch the tart, at least, before making hell for leather and scarpering out the door.

"That is a marvellous milk machine you have there, good sir. Might I also inquire as to its mode of operation?"

Tobias listened to the la di da of a morning haggle, but couldn't help the chest swelling that came from ego strokes such as this. He let his mind escape for the moment to the back room, where the next batch of elephant ears golden themselves readily. Soon they would ding and be done. This was a point of fame to this bakery. Prompt goods fresh, hot, made to perfection.

"I am but a sculptor of dough," He said feigning modesty. Tobias was more than a sculptor of dough, he was a God of Yeast. A Supreme Being of Sugar, and about as impossible to work with. Not that he thought it so, rather, the bumbling idiots who could barely fold a croissant weren't worth the investment. Due to this, employees came and went faster than the roll could stale.

The milk machine, however, he beamed at it's mention. It was quite the glorious machine, bronzed tubing running ceiling-way from a large barrel-esque tank. The tank spouted spouts a plenty, with gears for knobs. One glass tube that lead from the center to the ceiling showed steam rising, another showed water rushing in and out of a section of the large barrel. It was overall an impressive device, whistling every now and then as ultimate pressure was released.

"CreamCraft M-00," Tobias said simply, with a wave of a hand. It was obviously the most expensive machine on the market, with some modifications done. "Featuring flavors and textures found no other place!" He crafted many of them himself, and installed an icing mod that made delectable frozen cream. He kept this chamber filled the lowest, to increase demand for his delicious treat. Clever man he was, but was he more clever than the pirates?

ImageTobias set the pastries down on the back counter and pulled out a sample sized cup. He smiled as he put it on the counter, too proud not to offer up a free sample of his famous milks and creams. Genevieve looked to Silas and grinned, snatching up the glass and making for the milk machine. Halting before it, she stared at the knobs.

"Silas whatcha think? Which one?" Genevieve gushed, excited for something to drink.

Silas was impressed, despite himself. This Baker was clearly more than a simple rube, probably a master artisan by the standards of this city. The machinery was equally impressive, and daunting.

Genevieve's enthusiasm was infectious, and in truth seeing her happy was oddly pleasing in of itself. He was determined, for her sake at least, to be successful in this little game with the baker.

"Of course, my lady. Perhaps we should sample some of this good baker's most prized flavour frozen cream, and see what he is truly capable of, eh?" Silas said, though his pose as a disinterested aristocrat was slipping. He -was- impressed by all this, damnit.

"For myself, I have always been partial to strawberries with cream, and a cream that itself tastes of strawberries looks -quite- the novelty."

He reluctantly found himself willing to part with a few coins. He picked up the sample cup, and marvelled as the cream glooped into it. He passed it to Genevieve, who looked at it with a greed that Silas normally only saw in the most rapacious of pirate captains. He grinned at her mood.

"Do tell me how you find it, dear." He said, remembering to sound aristocratic, if only just.

He eyed the bakery door and goods again, judging distance and how quickly he could speed out of this place with an armful of goodies, when the time came. He was itching to devour these creamy goods himself, in truth, but for now he could tell Genny was caught up in the splendour of it all.

There was a small cylindrical container beside the machine, copper with snowflakes cut from it's mass in decoration. Out the rim poked icicles of crystal, handling the silver plated spoons that would accompany the treats. Genevieve fished two out, keeping them close together. Moving closer to Silas, she slipped them apart, flipping one up to wedge in her elbow crease and scooping cream with the other in one fluid motion. Winking at Silas, she popped the cream in her mouth.

"Oh, wow," Genevieve gushed, holding her hand to her bosom to conceal the pilfered spoon, "This is..." She scooped again, and aimed directly towards Silas's mouth.

Another patron entered at that point, a woman with skirts that were larger than life. Her petticoats swished almost as loudly as her metal heels clacked. Such was a recent fashion to take Abingdol Falls, causing the streets of aristocracy to come alive with clatter. She was greeted by name, and smelled heavily of violets.

"Miss Himmel!" Tobias Molodoux spoke from where he was. It wasn't that he didn't trust the two strangers, though he didn't, it was that the machine was his prize machine.

"Molodoux," The woman who was Miss Himmel shrieked in return, her voice that of a lark. "Come come, a sugar smooch for frequent!" She had at this point come all the way inside, and was leaning over the counter by the register demanding a proper greeting. Tobias's mustache bristled as he looked from Genevieve and Silas to the large and in charge Miss Himmel. Sighing curtly and smiling, he turned and went over to Miss Himmel and traded her kisses on their side faces.

Silas had never tasted anything quite this wonderful. It seemed like the raw essence of cream, strawberries, pleasure, all were warring and melting and exploding on his tongue. He tried to keep a dispassionate face, but he could not conceal the sheer joy this strange and wondrous dessert gave him.

He knew now that whatever else happened this day, he would find a way to become wealthy enough to come back here and buy his own machine, or something.

"Very good, Master Baker. Exactly as I hoped it would be." He lied, in truth being unable to imagine how -good- this could have been untill now.

He was about to put his plan to grab as many goodies as possible into action when another customer came in. Crap. A "Miss Himmel" if the Baker's greeting was anything to go by.

He barely concealed his distaste at the affectionate greeting between the pair. The situation was rapidly spiralling out of control, and both he and Genevieve were still standing there, gawking, when the real business of -adventure- was out there, waiting. But despite the danger, Silas found he couldn't simply leave. Not yet. Even with this Miss Himmel here, he didn't want to leave without -some- sort of prize, some token of success, some piece of Heaven he could take with him into the wild world beyond.

"Ah, hello there, I don't believe we've had the pleasure, ah, Miss Himmel, is it?" He did his best courtly bow. "My companion and I were passing through, admiring this Master Baker's exquisite confectionary masterpieces. But I take it you know each other, and are familiar perhaps with the full range of his work? Please, I implore you, give us your honest impressions, and reassure me that I am not simply dreaming such excellence."

As he spoke florridly, he backed up against a counter, his hands behind him, as if to rest on the counter. When the opportunity presented itself, he was going to boldly grab whatever he could and then flee for the door.

"Yes," Samantha Himmel looked to the person she had never seen before, down her nose. Travelers, just as she suspected. The girl was young, younger than she, and with a man. "I see you've already sampled the cream," Her lip curled into the tiniest of sneers as she eyeballed the woman's scanty attire. She must be a whore for hire, he wasn't for much better wear. Tobias shuffled as Samantha Himmel's gaze staled the atmosphere. Genevieve ate another bite and stared back, glazing the scene with her own frosty demeanor.

The two women glared like hounds, eyes sharper than knives despite soft expressions. The gaze lingered for far more than a moment, Tobias enraptured with the sight. One overdressed woman, one under-dressed woman, both appalled with the very presence of the other.

Finally, the brassy sound of golden muffins finishing their bake chimed in from the kitchen and broke the awkward. Samantha's eyes fluttered, Genevieve's hand flew to her concealed blade, and Tobias looked to Silas and nodded.

"S'cuse, madame!" Tobias fled to the kitchen, glad to maroon Silas in the sea of female hormones. Samantha Himmel sniffed and turned to the display as she was outnumbered by ruffians in the store front.

"I suppose the Triberrium Tart," Samantha named a treat surely just beyond their price range to Silas and proceeded to completely ignore the pair. Genevieve huffed.

Nicola was incredibly happy.

After all that hubub in London, she had returned to Terra, only to find out that her shop had been ransacked. She had gathered her things, then relocated.

To Pramia.

Just the port had her blown away. Her curly black hair and her skirts bellowed in a passing wind that had her stumbling down some stairs...

Outside. In Pramia.

The whole city was like home. Like home and better. Instead of London, she saw somewhere alien, but beautiful and familiar at the same time. It was not the streets she was familiar with, but the machines, the people, the style, was everything she had imagined, and it bypassed her expectations by a mile. She breathed in the sweet air with her skinny arms lashed out to her sides, a broad grin on her face. Though she had a large suitcase in her hand, and a hefty backpack on, she spun in a circle, laughing to herself.

"Miss, is there something wrong?" asked a high, but masculine voice in England's posh accent. "I have not heard that laugh in an age."

Crawling over her shoulder was a small mechanic spider with long, spindly copper legs and googly eyes.

Humid.

Kyle Edwards adjusted the collar of his shirt to let a wisp of air flow down his chest. He leaned against the railing at the end of a receiving dock. With a breath of the hot air he glanced over the rail, down at the ocean several thousand feet below the Airship port.

"Should be any second now..." He muttered quietly to himself with a look at the watch on his wrist.

The contact was supposed to arrive with the package via an airship all the way from Terra...He always wondered what that place was like. Tourists always claimed it was a terrible, war-torn place, but it couldn't be that bad if people still lived there, right?

The young gypsy girl began to trot, though she was wobbly and unbalanced. The suitcase in one hand and the oversized backpack she carried was almost too much for her. She was striding right past a young man, the creature on her shoulder fretting and scolding her to slow down, when her boot slipped onto the ground. She nearly smashed right into him, and she thought she had, turning around dangerously on one foot to address him.

"So sorry!" the young gypsy cried, hands clapping over her mouth. "I really must watch where I'm going! Are you quite alright? I didn't mean it, I swear!"

Kyle was looking up at the arriving ship when he felt something hit him in the chest. The force nearly knocked him right over the rail. That would've been nasty. His heart nearly stopped, and he had to catch his breath as he stepped away from the rail.

It took him a couple moments to realize that there was a young woman apologizing to him.

"aha....just be a bit more careful around here." Kyle smiled politely and rubbed the back of his neck. He gave the woman a quick look over.

"You look like your new in town." He observed.

And somehow....familiar.
