Tips: 0.00 INK Postby austyn101 on Sun May 05, 2013 10:46 am

Hey everybody, me again. I would like a little help with fonts. I need them if I'm going to spice up some of my roleplays but I just can't seem to work them. And may I please have a list of fonts? Thank you!^^

Using fonts to "spice up" a roleplay won't do much. You see, fonts only work when both parties have them. (I've also noticed that people don't like Comic Sans. I don't know why.)

If I may, try using better spelling and proper grammar with your roleplays. Your Lady Suki series in particular makes two mistakes: It tries too hard to be mature with titles like "Bullets Soaked in Blood", and it's all in lowercase, which gives would-be participants a dim view of the writing capabilities of those involved. The second is probably the more difficult of the two issues to fix, but is definitely worth the effort.

As for making your roleplays less shocking, try more circumspect titles, as well as adding description about the story itself in the synopsis. "the first chapter of the lady suki series" vs. "The magical containment field surrounding the demonic Lady Suki has failed. We will not live to see the rise of the hero that will stop her rampage--assuming there exists a force capable of doing so."

There's a stigma against Comic Sans (at least in graphic design) because it looks childish. But I'm not sure why everyone else hates it. It's like Meg from Family Guy everyone just talks crap about it.

It happens with Papyrus, too. It and Comic Sans are both used excessively and inappropriately. They're both fine when used sparingly and in an appropriate context (that is, Papyrus never and Comic Sans in... y'know, comics), but that just doesn't happen anymore — you can even find Comic Sans in documents about the Higgs Boson.
Remember: If you use an A in "definitely", you're definitely an A-hole.
