Rise Asylia! Victorian Era Fantasy RP

Rise Asylia! Is a roleplay based in a victorian era style fantasy setting, wherein magic and technology are placed hand in hand, resulting in giant graceful airships, sword swinging knights, and pistol slinging pirates all existing in the same theater.

The roleplay is designed to function as a sandbox setting, with game of thrones esque story writing where players can create characters at the highest levels of rulership, nobles, kings, even would be conquerers, to the lowest level of commoner, adventurers, peasants, orphan children.

The idea behind it is to give players a living fantasy world mixing steam punk esq technology with magical and fantastical phenomona, all wrapped by an ongoing story moving the world via the currents of individual plots and interactions.

At present, the roleplay has one overarching plotline, the downfall of the king of Asylia, betrayed by his closest friends and his own beloved queen, who now tear the kingdom apart with war trying to dominate the whole of the land. The kings only daughter, Halena Asylia, has spent the last ten years in hiding, protected by her loyal guardian Tolend Dathar. However, before the princess can ascend to the throne, an even darker evil lurks behind the scenes, plotting some unspeakable fate for the whole world.


The Location
The name of the world in which this roleplay takes places is called Aurrone, and there are two parts to this world. There are the floating continents and islands that make up the skylands, all of which float above a churning, dark sea of fog and storms, appropriately named the Storm Sea.

Beneath the storm sea however, exists the low countries, an essentially endless swamp and fetid moor of mud, moss, and decay. Despite the obvious desolation of the place, people do live here, on the relatively safer firm grounds, and in banyan villages.

The world is not set in stone nor is it static, and can in fact be grown and made larger by players if they so choose. Players wishing to create their own villages, towns, or etc, may submit a request in the forums to have one created. Once created it will be opened for their use, allowing them to fine tune or construct it as they see fit.

Most locations include a map of visual representations that provides context to players locations and direction, allowing them to better write their stories.

Open Access Creations
From time to time, Characters, locations, factions, and even entire kingdoms will be created and then put up for open sale for any player to purchase. Players purchasing these resources are free to edit or change things as they see fit, the open access is merely to allow players to drop in at will without having to create a character if they have not the time or inclination.

Finally The forums of the roleplay contain a number of informational packets and things that players may use to answer questions, fuel their creativity, or however else they may find them useful.

The roleplay is open, and available to everyone who wishes to create a character. All forms of characters are allowed, so long as they can be explained and fit into the setting.
