And yes, I know the short length of this post is rather is rather ironic.

I think the happy medium is when people to post in context of the situation. I don't need 2,000 words to know you just drank a glass of water, nor will I understand the entirety of your character's life in 200 words.

Length means nothing. Depth and quality means everything. In ALL literature, more is less.

Your writing should be like a miniskirt™; short enough to keep your attention, long enough to cover the subject.
If you can write 20,000 words in a post and keep my attention, there's nothing wrong with doing it. However, if you are not part of the top echelon of writers who have that amazing ability, only include the content that will keep my attention while still covering the important points of the storyline.
