Lucas screamed as the nurses entered grabbing him and holding him, he struggled kicking his legs out trying to get away.
"Get off me!..Let go...I'm not having your pills...nothing...nothing at all...get off" he screamed loudly holding onto his head. Everything was swirling around again at the worry and now that the nurse was holding him it made him worse. Pulling his hair he continued to scream.

The nurses, thankfully, are ready for an outburst like this. While one of them constrains Lucas, the other gives him another shot of the mild tranquilliser he'd been given before. At that moment, Dr Shriver comes in, pushing his glasses onto his face.
"Alright, Lucas. It's alright."

Lucas cried out as he was jabbed by a needle. His body slumped in the nurses arms and he stayed on the floor, he shook his head " Not allright..." He began his words slurring " you give me pills...that can do anything...I don't sleep..I know that your planning to send me back to them...the food has stuff in it..nothing's safe..you could be all in my head...I know...I know I'm not right..." Lucas slumped to the floor his head spinning.

At a nod from Dr Shriver, the nurses carefully help Lucas up and onto the bed. Dr Shriver sees them out, sitting on the chair by the door. He speaks slowly and softly.
"Would you like to tell me about your bad dream, Lucas?"
He's not going to delve into what he's saying right now. Digging out the trigger is the most important thing,

Lucas groaned as he lay on the bed, he still held onto his head. "Pills...so many pills, they made me sick...made me see things...glass was shoved down my throat...it's so dark...always so dark...he always comes in the dark...always comes for me" Lucas mumbled his fingers pulling at his hair.

Dr Shriver notes something down, looking back at Lucas.
"Who is it? Who's doing this? Can you remember?"
He tilts his head, looking gently at the boy.
"Take your time, Lucas."

Lucas groaned softly his head hurting he tugged at his hair a few strands coming away with his trembling finger. " I don't know...sometimes it's my ...my...my dad other times...my mom.." He hit his head with his hand tugging his hair he wanted this to stop all the memories flooding back. " Make it stop..I don't want to see it anymore" he covered his eyes groaning to himself.

Dr Shriver nods knowingly.
"Well, over the course of the next few days, we'll be able to devise some coping strategies for you."
He smiles at Lucas reassuringly.
"Would you like something to help you sleep until morning? Or would you like to talk with me for now?"

Lucas shook his head curling up into a ball " don't want to sleep...not going to " he mumbled even though his eyes were closing. The conbination of lack sleep and the tranquilliser sent him to sleep holding onto the pillow holding it close to him.

"Would you like me to stay with you?"
Dr Shriver tilts his head, concerned for the boy. With a quick glance at his watch, he confirms the time - 4:23. He couldn't let him stay awake until morning.
"You can have a little walk around, if you like. Maybe read a book for a little while?"

Lucas nodded sleepily as the doctor asked if Lucas wanted him to stay with him, he yawned rubbing his eyes. " I want to stay here...I can't really read that well Annika can though. She reads to me. We didn't go to school " Lucas explained.

Dr Shriver nods knowingly.
"Alright. Would you like to talk, at all? Or would you rather keep quiet?"
He clasps his fingers, smiling gently. It was important that Lucas did this at his own pace.

"I don't know....the medicine is making me sleepy.. I might go too sleep.. Can you stay incase someone comes" Lucas mumbled collecting the blanket and covering himself up falling asleep.

Dr Shriver nods.
"Of course I can."
While Lucas is sleeping he very quietly calls the receptionist and asks her to call for Annika in the morning. He needed to talk to her too. He stays with Lucas until the morning. Trust between patients and doctors was important. When it's 8:30, he gently shakes him awake.
"Lucas? It's morning."

(Sorry about lack of replying, been busy with Christmas and stuff, may skip to where the doctor talks to Annika)

Lucas sat up suddenly looking around the room incase something had changed, he ate his breakfast slowly and cautiously eating only about half of everything. They had given him his medication which seemed to quietened don't the worries in his head for the time being, as well as numbing him for a moment. He was still unsure about everything but at least he was seeing Annika today.

Dr Shriver escorted Lucas into the family visiting area, into a separate room where the pair could spend a bit off time together and he could speak to Annika about the information that Lucas had shared. Lucas was sat looking out of the window watching the trees blowing in the wind as well as mumbling to himself.

"Annika? You can come in now" Dr Shriver beckoned her to come in.

Annika, having been waiting outside for half an hour, isn't really sure she wants to come in anymore. She's had a terribly sleepless night, and although she's masked it with makeup, she knows she looks terrible. Shaking, she manages to stand, taking the few steps round the corner and into the room. She sees Lucas and just stops. He was... calm? Mumbling, but calm. And even she couldn't help him like that.

Lucas looked from the window to turn around, he smiled as he saw Annika he rushed over to her and threw his arms around her "I missed you" he mumbled resting his head on her shoulder holding onto her shirt. He let go after a while returning to sit by the window.

"Please take a seat Annika, I have some things I need to tell you" Dr Shriver began closing the door and taking a seat on a chair. " Now I belive that Lucas's behaviour it stemming from a certain string of events. He has disclosed certain parts of information that match up to something quite concerning" he opened up his notes and sighed softly "Lucas is showing signs of extreme paranoia and from what he has described as a serious prolonged periods of abuse, including assault both sexual and psychological abuse" he paused to let his information sink in " do you have anything to add to the information of have any comments or questions.?"

Annika hugs him back tightly, squeezing him probably a little too hard. After a snorting sniffle, she manages to whisper:
"I've missed you too."
She's trying terribly hard not to cry.

After he lets go, she takes a seat, trembling slightly. As the doctor speaks, her face slowly pales. She'd really rather not talk about things like this. But she can' hold it in any more. She nods slowly.
"Mm. He's-- he's not lying."
She looks up at Dr Shriver, wide eyed.
"You won't tell anyone. Will you?"

Dr Shriver sighed softly " I'm afraid I'm going to have to tell the people who are going to be able to help you and Lucas. But it will only be them and no one else. We will bring your parents to justice and you will be safe. However I need to know if this has been happening to you too?" He had to ask incase Annika needed any treatment too. But Lucas was worse of that Annika, so much so he may need to stay for a longer period of time.

She looks away, her eyes flicking around the room restlessly. She'd really rather not tell him. But she has to. She nods slowly.
"Mm. Yes."
She's not going into details. She looks up at the doctor, waiting for him to ask her first. She's ashamed. And she doesn't want to talk about it with Lucas in the room too.
