Be sure to keep some things in mind while coming up with concepts for your character; your character's name must be one of the following: a color/sounds like a color/means a color/makes people think of a color. You can submit up to three apps, but only one of these characters will be accepted. It is optional, but if you choose to use a symbol that represents your character like those seen in the show please include a link to it somewhere in your app. Other than those three things, you have free reign when it comes to making your character, whether they be human or faunus.

Click here for the application code.

lilian aquila » member of team ople
It's safe to say that Lilian knows her way around words, knowing just what to say and how to say it in order to coax someone into her way of thinking about things. A little manipulative? Perhaps. But Lilian doesn't see the harm in saccharine words, especially if it ends up being to her own benefit.

Knowing full well how sketchy her behavior might seem to those with a more perceptive eye, Lilian sees no reason to deceive others in order to get her own way. She's forthcoming in every aspect of the word, spilling the truth as if she had no other option but to do so. Not to say that she wouldn't tell a lie, but she greatly prefers to be honest whenever she can. She likes to keep herself on the good side of everyone that she knows, as it makes them more likely to help her out here and there whenever she needs them to.

Which in turn means that she'll smile at the most despicable of people. Ever a bit hypocritical, despite her honest nature Lilian is still able to smile in the faces of those she despises. Some of her outwardly friendly and amiable interactions with others only exist on the surface; they're nothing more but frivolous interactions that don't really denote whether or not Lilian feels one way or the other about a person. It's all part of her want to stay in someone's good blessings, regardless of if it makes her want to gag.

More than anything, Lilian is wrapped in a warped, self-righteous sense of justice. She wants to do good and see that no one else is harmed in the process, but she quickly dishes out pre-mature judgments of others, slamming down her own gavel clasped in her iron fist before the trial is even adjourned.

This is ever complicated by her paradoxical behavior, and at times it seems like she comprehends herself less and less with each passing day. If nothing else, she is visibly earnest about her want to help others and her dedication to graduating from Beacon Academy and becoming a full-fledged huntress.

It's shines through in her voice and demeanor whenever she's discussing it with others, and it's about the only thing that's a given about Lilian.

lilian aquila » sensory deprivation
Instead of merely altering how someone perceives the world around them, Lilian is able to strip someone of a selected sense completely. This ability even goes beyond the traditional five senses of hearing, taste, smell, sight and touch, as she could even alter someone's sense of balance or thermoception. Lilian is also able to use her semblance on herself, depriving herself of senses such as pain in order to continue fighting in the midst of battle. Though her semblance does have some unfortunate drawbacks; she is only able to deprive one person of their senses, and she can only remove one sense at a time. This is also the case whenever she is utilizing her semblance on herself as well. Lilian's semblance is hereditary, meaning that everyone else in her family also shares the same semblance.

lilian aquila » aurea hasta
Lilian's weapon of choice is a spear embellished in intricate golden markings, being able to compress into a sniper rifle on command. The spear head opens up to allow bullets to exit through the barrel of the gun, and Dust cartridges are also able to used. Lilian is much more skilled with her weapon than she ever was with the use of her semblance, being able to take down multiple Grimm without a hint of an issue.

nyx tsumikage » member of team grdn
Nyx is not the ideal, honorable huntress, seeking to bring good to the world. Born and raised in the city of Kuchinashi, Mistral, and its black market and criminal network, it's safe to say that Nyx never had the best role models. She can't remember her parents at all, nor her last name - all Nyx knows from her early childhood is her given name. It's hard to get by in a position like hers without getting your hands dirty. Most of the people Nyx grew up with are criminals in one way or another. She never saw it as bad; being morally flexible was a desirable trait if you wanted to survive in a world like Remnant.

For the most part, Nyx was someone you'd call a freelance mercenary. She killed people like your normal run-of-the-mill assassin, but Nyx's services went beyond that. She would commit nearly any deed or crime for the highest bidder; theft, poisoning, arson - if you had enough money, Nyx would do it.

However, at the end of the day, it didn't matter if you were part of the government or the biggest black market in Remnant; the Grimm were never on your side. Of course, when the Fall began, Kuchinashi benefited greatly, using the chaos to their advantage. Nyx did that as well. However, when the Grimm began to directly threaten their region, Nyx could no longer take advantage of the situation. She fled to Vale, the kingdom she deemed the one with the least problems. Nyx then looked at her options, choosing to apply to Beacon Academy, lying about her age, identity, and everything about her in the process - except for her name. Nyx created a new mask to wear, giving herself a surname that comprised of "sin" and "shadow".

One might think that it'd be strange for a criminal to want to be a Huntress, but for Nyx, being a freelance mercenary was never about doing the ethically wrong, or amassing a fortune. She likes to think that she's purely neutral, neither good nor bad; Nyx merely wants to survive.

Behind the detached, assertive, and perhaps slightly sadistic front she puts up for business, Nyx actually does have a personality created for herself. She's the type who doesn't really enjoy joking around, usually shooting down others' attempts at humor with a brutally realistic and flat statement. Nyx seems like the type who always keeps a cool head and never gets taken aback; however, there is a way to fluster her, and that is with true affection - platonic or romantic, as long as it isn't sexual. While Nyx secretly craves affection and comfort, she usually refuses it from others, since that means trusting someone enough on an emotional level. Nyx knows that there are some circumstances where you could trust another with everything you've got, but she doesn't think she will ever be capable of that.

Nyx is guarded in a secretive way; she doesn't push people away by acting cold (although she can be - unintentionally - at times). Instead, Nyx simply never reveals anything about herself, and while she doesn't lie about everything, she isn't the most honest person you would find: at the end of the day, you may very well know practically nothing about her, not because she lies when the problem comes, but because Nyx never reveals anything true about herself in the first place. The Nyx people know is private, reserved, and quiet. The Nyx no one ever sees is ever-changing and inconstant - pliable, and able to transform into anything she desires. There is no fire in her belly, and there never has been; Nyx's only passion in the world is to stay alive, and maybe get to the top if circumstances allow for it.

nyx tsumikage » wielded illusions
Nyx's Semblance is to be able to take any object (for example, an eraser) and turn it into an illusion (perhaps a sword), making it seem much more powerful and dangerous than it really is. She's able to hold and wield this object like it is the illusion and not the true object (for example, wielding an eraser like a sword despite its true shape). This object inflicts the damage of the illusion that's masking it (hitting someone with an eraser that appears to be a sword will inflict the amount of damage a sword would). The illusion grows weaker only if the person Nyx uses it on doubts its true identity; the closer they get to its true identity, the weaker Nyx's illusion becomes, and the less damage it inflicts. If this begins to happen, there is no way Nyx can strengthen that particular illusion anymore; the object with an illusion is single-use. Nyx can sustain an illusion for a decent amount of time, but can't generate a new one for a period of time if she uses her first one too long.

Nyx's Semblance isn't hereditary, and comes from the fact that she will use anything and become anyone to achieve her final goal.

nyx tsumikage » shirogane and kogane
Nyx's weapon is relatively simple compared to those of other Huntsmen. They're a pair of dual swords; however, they're rather small, more like daggers, and can only be used when fighting someone face to face (unless she's willing to risk throwing one of them and putting her trust in her aim). One of them is named Shirogane; the other is Kogane. Kogane has a slot where Nyx can place a single Dust crystal; this makes the blade stronger and more powerful. Shirogane also has a slot for a Dust crystal, but this crystal must be Gravity Dust. If Shirogane is loaded with Gravity Dust, then Nyx will be able to wield it without touching it, as long as she is also wielding Kogane at the same time. Nyx needs an extreme amount of concentration to wield both effectively at the same time.

reita ishikawa » member of team grdn
Reita claims to embody all there is to be an honorable samurai. Inspired by a super-sentai-esque production in the realm of Mistral. Devoting his life to the code of bushido, despite a skewed perception due to media's influences. Although his hero, "The Golden Samurai", doesn't dress in jumpsuits, Reita simply can't tell the difference between a superhero and a Japanese sword wielder. Simply thinking that defending the "victims of evil" is part of their daily routine. His unfortunate upbringing also contributed in instilling his pure dream of helping anyone in need, though his decisions reeking of innocence.

Despite his wholesome heart, he was thrown to the wolves shortly after his birth. Forced to work in slave labor and eventually finding himself in an underground fighting arena below the streets of Mistral. Countless children were thrown into coliseums filled to the brim with Grimm. With more corpses than kids, it would eventually be Reita's turn. It was almost like a miracle as Reita's semblance emerged right then and there. Using his newfound power, he was able to survive until the ring was busted by authorities and the survivors were freed from their imprisonment.

Reita comes off as boisterous and loud, despite claiming to his peers that he is mysterious and philosophical, like a samurai, right? There are so many contradictions between how others portray him and how he feels he portrays himself that it almost gives the impression that he is being ironic intentionally. His attempts at humor come off as rather childish, not exactly clever in constructing jokes but seeking to lighten the mood of almost any situation despite the circumstances.

One thing that Reita is very good at is getting a reaction out of people. Whether it's a peep out of an introvert or an angry stare from one who is easily flustered. Maybe it was in his blood to gouge out responses, but if you lose focus for even a second, Reita can take full control of any conversation. Forcing people to listen as he talks about his hero or himself, especially if there is a more important topic at hand. Despite Reita acting like he doesn't notice his impression on people, he does have an idea to some degree, though turning a blind eye by simply thinking that a smile is everyone's best face and it doesn't matter if they're laughing with him or at him.

In the end, Reita is very much aware of how childish his aspirations and actions are, knowing that a boost in maturity is especially useful in times such as this. However, Reita would never change how he acts, firmly holding onto his beliefs. He's very fond of acting like an idiot and playing the hero in spite of the desperate age.

reita ishikawa » soul sucker
Reita's semblance is the ability to heal from nonfatal wounds by taking the vitality of others. Taking from a specific species also allows him to develop similar traits to the species in question, whether it is a faunus or a Grimm. The healing and the draining are only moderately quick with the range only a couple of feet, however, it doesn't take much concentration to perform as his body will automatically search for something to drain as long as he has suffered nonfatal damage of any kind. While fighting for his life in the underground arena, it was his semblance that allowed him to drain the Grimm for their vitality which contracted this nasty birthmark. Conveniently enough, as a side effect of his semblance, Reita is able to use powers of the Grimm to an extent, such as growing stronger in the presence of negative emotions, although possessing a smaller aura due to not being fully human. While draining humans, he cannot get past their aura, instead opting to steal and use that instead. If he doesn't want his semblance to activate, he can simply cover the wound with bandages or cloth. Without his semblance, normal wounds heal slower than an average human due to his modest aura supply.

reita ishikawa » go-ri no kōtei
Despite Reita wanting desperately to be a skilled samurai, he has no talent for the katana. The level of discipline and balance being hard for Reita to master. Carrying a decoration sword around that he practices with while utilizing 5 sai that he stores in his robe for real encounters with an enemy. Due to spending time with his more tech-savvy team members, the sai are able to emit a dust-powered smokescreen, which allows him to close the distance between more range oriented opponents. His style is rather unique, prioritizing tiring out his opponent with a combination of his semblance and unorthodox movements, attacking quickly and from unlikely angles until his opponent is fatigued. His personality does influence his fighting style as opponents are forced to think quickly on how they'll expend their aura and energy in their attacks. He also bolted metal sheets to the bottom of his wooden sandals, allowing him to parry or perform attacks with his feet if he so chooses to.

Orianna Fuchsia » member of team ople
Orianna is a very straightforward and simple being, wanting nothing more than to venture out into the world helping others through her music and voice. She is a bat-faunus, like her parents, and is physically shown in a less visible way; some of her teeth being unnaturally pointed and sharp. Orianna strongly believes that what cannot be solved through conflict or discussion alone, can be solved with a little help of music. One could say she's simply optimistic and a naive fool, but at the very least she has the drive and motivation to put herself out there and try. However, her family was not one known for their kindness towards the trade or of people in general; thus her family back in Menagerie was not too keen on the idea of her joining their ranks. But even so, Orianna was determined to help others, or die trying. But part of her remains wary of humans as she always heard tales of the transgressions brought about the faunus by people back in the day and would not wish to be treated that way.

Orianna is by no means a strong fighter, but she isn't one who will run away from a fight knowing that others are fighting as well. She's often towards the edge of the fight, at a high elevation, projecting her voice and rallying her allies. Though she isn't much of a fighter, she's capable enough for some small amounts of self-defense using her modified guitar, Powerchord. However, if she were up against another experienced fighter, she's practically destined to lose. But that doesn't stop her from charging into battle and putting herself in front of an ally in danger. At the very least, what she lacks in strength, she can make up for in speed and stamina. Besides, what kind of hero stays on the sidelines forever? But if there's any one thing she understands, it's the fact that you can't save everyone if you're dead. And sometimes, sacrifice is necessary, even if she hates it.

She's the kind of person to often move along at her own pace, skipping out on classes that don't interest her to practice singing on the roof, or even staying up late at night playing the guitar, only to complain about waking up early in the morning. Though she hates schooling, she always actively attends anything related to combat training. After all, while she enjoys being the rallying call for her team, she too wants to be someone who fights for a cause; if she can't hit hard, she'll very well try to at least be durable. But if not kept on a leash, well any other type of class is up in the air for her.

It's a wonder how Orianna came to be a huntress at all, but it doesn't take much deliberation to see that she has the drive, determination, and desire to make it as one. At the end of the day, if she can help even one person, then that means she's doing her job.

Orianna Fuchsia » Amplify
Orianna's semblance is non-hereditary and is, for that matter, a very unique one in and of itself. Her semblance suits more to the role of one supporting rather than fighting. In the simplest explanation of the manifestation of her aura, Orianna is able to inspire confidence, strength, and courage into her allies. Her semblance on its own is not very powerful, but in a team she can do very much. Combining her semblance with her natural singing voice, Orianna is able to project her vocals across the battlefield, essentially buffing those who are her allies, so long as they can hear her. Her voice can echo quite far, so long as the terrain allows her voice to bounce off of surfaces. However, with her semblance comes very large limitations. In order for her semblance to be effective, she needs to maintain her song for the duration of the fight. Should her voice waver, then so too will her amplification. Additionally, should she lose her voice or be unable to sing for whatever reason, then her semblance is absolutely meaningless.

Orianna Fuchsia » Powerchord
Orianna's weapon of choice is an unconventionally designed guitar. For all intents and purposes, her guitar, granted the name Powerchord, works and functions like a normal guitar and can be played just as such. However, it has been modified to be capable of storing dust within it alongside being made of a sturdier material so it can be used as something like a melee weapon. By pressing a button on the side of the instrument, Orianna is able to empower her strums with magical energy, condensing it, and releasing it in the form of a projectile. For example, empowering Powerchord with fire dust allows her to launch a blade of fire to a target, whilst ice dust allows her to launch smalls icicles.

dewitt comstock » member of team grdn
Born to the wealthy West family of Atlas gave Dewitt a very comfortable but somewhat cold childhood. His parents were famous weapons manufacturers, owning and operating Ice-born Steel Inc. This gave Dewitt anything he could ever financially want.

Dewitt was an incredibly curious child and would spend most of his days learning as much as he could about the world, whether that be from books, mentors, or experiencing the world itself. One day, while he was still young, Dewitt had read a number of books about hunters and discovered that he had vast amounts of aura. This drove Dewitt to become a hunter, a dream that his parents would assist him by getting him accepted into Atlas's combat school, Alsius Academy.

Combat school was a lot harder than he had expected, as it pushed him to his very limits time and time again but despite that, he never gave up. After years of studying at Alsius Dewitt had become an effective and intelligent combatant, having designed and created his own weapon Judgement. He graduated with top honors as the number one ranked student from the academy.

He was then excepted into multiple Hunter Academies across Remnant but he decided to attend Beacon, where he met and formed Team GRDN with three other students.

Dewitt is an intelligent and curious person who is also incredibly blunt. His blunt and flippant attitude can rub some people the wrong way but Dewitt cares very little about public opinion. He tries to be nice most of the time but he has very little patience in dealing with people who seem to be wasting his time as he could better use that time in the pursuit of knowledge or his other interests. Most people would describe him as being aloof or distant but he is a rather caring individual, once you get to know him.

dewitt comstock » true detective
True Detective has both an active and passive ability, which enables Dewitt to exhibit incredible reflexes and perception. Dewitt's semblance is the manifestation of his intellect and curiosity, always wanting to know more about the world around him and how to better understand it.

The semblance's passive ability gives Dewitt a heightened sixth sense which makes him able to feel and detect aura around him, better than most hunters. He mainly uses this sense to; find the exact location of an aura signature, detect the amount of aura in a particular subject, and sense if any semblance is being used. Dewitt uses the passive ability of his semblance to gather information to better use in any given situation. Because of the nature of this ability which improves Dewitt's perception, he will sense and be able to counteract abilities which try to affect it.

The semblance's active ability enables Dewitt to increase his own mental capabilities and eyesight. He uses this mainly to heighten his natural reflexes and mental processing in order to better react in combat as well as deduce and create strategies on the fly. Dewitt's heightened eye-sight makes him capable of seeing distances two times further than most humans and grants him low-light vision, making him able to see with limited light. While using the active portion of his semblance Dewitt's mind is put under a lot of stress which usually leads to headaches and if used for an extended period of time can cause him to pass out

dewitt comstock » judgement
Judgement is a non-transformable weapon that acts as both a club/baton and rail cannon. The handle of the weapon comfortably fits both of Dewitt's hands and also houses a large dust crystal which acts as a power supply. The crystal is held inside the handle with a circular ring pommel, which Dewitt can use to easily rotate the weapon with one hand. At the top of the handle, there is a movable trigger guard that when moved reveals a button which when pressed releases a projectile from the end of the club. This button can be held down longer to increase the amperage applied by the power supply to fire a more potent projectile, doing so will cause the dust crystal to overheat which will then need time to cool down. The club itself is two and a half feet in length and is rectangular in shape with the width being six inches and the height 3 inches.

eden aozora » member of team ople
"The Grimm should just come and fuck everyone's asses for all I care."

The thing about Eden is, he is a jerk, a total one at that, and he isn't afraid to show it. Salty, sarcastic, blunt, he has no qualm using the most vulgar of verbiages to badmouth on anyone. Well, except the Faunas, maybe. Most people who are unfortunate enough to know him will think that Eden is a pain in the neck to have around, and would rather stay away from him because just thinking of his face is already irksome to no end.

And the fact that Eden has all the worst characteristics a human could possibly have in a whole package saves him no redemption at all.

While he does work surprisingly well in a team setting, Eden views those around him as mere tools to further whatever he got cooking. Always seemingly calculating his every move, he does not allow himself to be outmatched and will make sure that he has something to resort to under his sleeves. His cocky grin is a sight everyone sees everyday, but that isn't the most unsettling thing about him. Some people swear that they caught glimpses of a twisted smirk on his face whenever someone is facing some sorts of traumatic incidents, or when he is slashing down on the Grimms with his saber. A pure sadist. You can come and tell him right at the face and he wouldn't deny it.

After all, for Eden, humans are simply nothing more than trashes, and he himself is no exception. The fact that the ever-growing population of the Grimms are trying to wipe humanity out of the face of this world is actually doing Mother Nature a favor.

Yet, what truly is unexpected about Eden, which makes others questioning whether he has a split personality, is his completely different views and treatments towards the Faunus - the subject of discrimination of this society. While he has no problem trash-talking his human companions, he holds the Faunus with the highest respects. He would agree without a second thought whenever a Fauna friend is in need of help over something, and is more than willing to take the hit for them during a fight. Not to mention Eden had more than once punching someone in the face for their racist comments towards the Faunus. In his point of view, the Faunus - those who have nurtured him with kindness, are ten times better than any humans - his own kin, yet had given him nothing but agony.

Then why did Eden train to become a hunter, among those whom he despised in all honesty, in the first place? Obviously, it is for the sake of the benefactors who had saved his life and allowed him to start anew.

But maybe, just maybe, deep down somewhere in his heart, Eden still hasn't lost his last thin sliver of hope towards humanity, and towards himself, yet.

eden aozora » greek fire
Eden's semblance is the ability to conjure and control blue-colored fire. He channels his energy through his Aura and materializes them into destructive blue fires that are several times stronger than that of normal ones. There are many ways in which Eden can use his ability offensively, such as channeling his fire into his saber to make it deal more damages, or simply just throw fireballs towards his targets like projectiles. He can also erect a wall of flames to separate himself and his opponents, giving him a chance to flee in emergency situations.

But, there are also several drawbacks. This semblance only enables him to control his own flames that he created, not those from outside forces. Working similarly to a stove, his energy acts as fuel in order for him to conjure the fires, running out of energy means that his ability is as good as useless, and given how volatile the fire usually is, it tends to run out quite fast without proper management. Lastly, Eden is not immune to his own fire, and still burns from them if he somehow catches them. This makes it disadvantageous to utilize in confined settings. Due to these reasons, he mostly uses his power as a last measure, relying mainly on his weapons and wits during fights.

eden aozora » azure wrath and scarlet requiem
Eden has two weapons in his possession. His first and most notable one is a saber named Azure Wrath. It is simple a sturdy blade made from fine steels that can withstand intense battles, but it can also channel Eden's Aura through its' thirst to make it more destructive and powerful, and it does not need a Dust to utilize.

Eden's second weapon are a set comprised of 4 daggers named Scarlet Requiem. These daggers, however, require Burn Dusts in order to be fully utilized otherwise they are as good as normal ones. There is a hilt on each of them to insert the Dusts. These daggers are mainly used in close range combat but when equipped with Burn Dusts, they gain a red sheen over their thirsts and a homing propriety which allows them to chase after their targets up to 5 minutes when thrown as projectiles.

Pomare Liannos » Member of team OPLE

Born to a lower class family in the slums of Vale, one would initially assume Po to be either a cocky vagrant or an angry individual with a chip on his shoulder. While using his upbringing as a point against him is one of his buttons, once someone knows him, they would never consider him to be either of these things. Instead, Po is an extremely empathetic character, quick to understand, forgive and protect nearly anyone that enters into his life. Just as he is quick to do these things though, he is just as fast on the offensive uptake, not wasting any time and not bothering to hesitate once a decision has been made.

Po could be considered a ‘Nice Guy’. He legitimately cares about those around him, often going out of his way to ensure that they’re alright or doing something to elevate their moods. In a fight, he’s the first to jump in and protect someone, and the last one to walk out if that’s even an option. Observant nearly to a fault, sometimes a flurry of information can be presented in such a short amount of time it’s like watching circuits fry as he tries to figure out the best possible option as quickly as possible. When the lines between good and bad start to blur, this is where he struggles and can quickly become distressed as he tries to find the best solution to a horrible equation. In this regard, his inherently good and kind nature works against him as he often believes that there’s no such thing as a ‘No Win Situation’.

Another thing that quickly becomes evident is his constant need to ‘hold back’ when in a fight with anything other than a Grim. If he’s fighting something sentient, human or faunus, his personality dictates that he doesn’t really want to hurt or kill them, but recognizes that in order to protect the majority he needs to do something. As such, he’s subconsciously hampering his abilities and opening himself up to people who aren’t nearly as restrained as he is. While a skilled fighter, tactician and all around good hunter in training, he’s nowhere near the level of those whose goal is to simply become a Hunter/Huntress. His goal is to protect, and while this stems more from a need to defend those who he cares about, it has slowly started to encompass pretty much anyone that enters his field of view.

With that in mind, he can sometimes act without fully thinking something through if he believes someone is in legitimate danger. While quick to react, he can and will throw himself into a situation that doesn’t lend itself to his advantage. On the flip side, his resilience comes from a nearly indomitable will that forces him to stand even when everything inside him is screaming to lay down and die. The only problem is forcing a situation where that kind of will is required, since anything short of life threatening leads Po to be less than his absolute best.

Outside of combat and his general need to be an almost father figure to those around him, Po has a kind of wisdom to him that comes from a mixture of good intuition, empathy, intelligence and experience. Never one to give unsolicited advice, he often leads people to conclusions rather than spells it out for them. Mentally, it makes him seem older than he is, but it can and has backfired on him before. Where some might take the help as intended, others view it as arrogant and conceited. They believe that he believes himself to be infallible. Po would argue these claims, but deep down he can’t help but love it when someone takes his advice, his own little guilty pleasure it would seem. Guiding lives to a certain destination has a certain appeal, but he prefers to at the very least aim it in a ‘good’ direction.

At the end of the day, Po is someone who can be relied upon to act in the best interest of the group rather than just himself. He’s kind hearted, empathetic, wise and protective, while also being slightly arrogant, quick to react/slow to adjust and held back when it really matters. He just wants what’s best for everyone, often times throwing his own whims and desires behind him and focusing on others.

Pomare Liannos » Localized Gravity Manipulation

Po has the ability to manipulate the gravitational pull in a 20 foot diameter around him. In terms of what that entails, it’s exactly what you would expect a gravitational anomaly power to do. He can make the area around himself heavier or lighter, including weightlessness, as much as he likes. He can also make the conscious choice to include himself in that aura, meaning that while everyone around could be flailing around in the air, he could be walking past them normally with no extra effort.

His power has a slightly different effect on dust. Dust seems to act like an anchor, and can be manipulated on a finer scale, leading to a common misconception of telekinesis. Essentially, when dust or an item that is infused with dust enters his radius, it acts like a receiver. With a little extra effort, he can treat that item like he treats himself, and can dictate whether that item or dust is affected by his semblance. As such, his weapons are usually coated in a thin layer of dust to prevent them being as heavy as trees or floating off weightlessly into the air.

Pomare Liannos » Kalos and Multa

Po utilizes a dual set of hand axes. Fitted with one sided blades, these weapons actually carry a small compartment just for a small dose of dust that, at a press of a button, sprays it in a small localized area to coat the weapons for easier use during his semblance. When a ranged approach is better, the transformation for them isn’t as flashy as some of the others. Instead a barrel hole appears at the top of the shaft, the bottom of the hilt curves and triggers slide out of the mechanism. The axes become lever action hand rifles that are useful at short to mid range, and carry a clip of 10 rounds each.
Writing is a tool used to convey an author's passion and imagination, use it to the best of your ability.

Ebb is an energetic youth born and raised in a small, coastal town in the island of Vytal. Earnest and optimistic, he is the kind of person who tends to focus on the positive side of most situations or people, and tries to do his best with what he is given without thinking too much about it. He is very comfortable with new circumstances and in fact greatly enjoys discovering things and meeting new people, something that has been further driven home when he finally ventured outside of his hometown and pretty much everything in his life seemed new. He is not very hard to impress, but he does value and respect honesty and humor in people.

He takes things at face value and doesn’t put too much thought into them unless its needed – or rather is being urged to second-guess. Consequently, he is very quick to place his trust in others after only a few gestures of good faith, which absolutely makes him quite naïve.

Depending on your perspective, he can be described as either friendly or loud; he is active and talkative when around people, is very expressive, and his mannerisms are strong. He doesn’t always respect people’s personal spaces, which despite his lack of awareness can potentially bother some.

Despite his love for communicating with others, he has an innate talent to say the worst possible things during crucial moments, and can come off as socially clumsy. At the end of the day though, he is a well-meaning person completely unable to hold grudges against other people, and since he can be very thick-skinned, you’d be hard-pressed to offend him in the first place too.

While not necessarily dumb, Ebb is not very quick on the uptake. It takes more than a few retreads for him to fully assimilate concepts in his head and every new lesson will always come with a good amount of practice to stick – which he more often than not won’t want to follow through with. This is particularly evident in more complex conversations, where it becomes apparent that cryptic dialogue and insinuations go completely over his head. It also reflects in his studies, as the theory has always been more ephemeral than practice for him.

While it is easy to dismiss Ebb as a brutish ball of energy, there is a surprisingly level-headed man behind his loudness. He can be very patient and rarely lets his emotions get the better of him, so he hardly ever has any regrets to hold on to. His ability to maintain his usual demeanor is universal, and even in dire situations involving Grimm, he will in all likeliness retain some degree of calm – his version of “calm”, anyways. This can be somewhat unnerving for those around him during moments of distress, as his lack of hesitance to make difficult decisions hints at a cold detachment from conventional values.

ebb lazurny » mass amplification
Ebb’s Semblance allows him to place a fixed, circular rune in the air within a short range; anything going through said circle will be encapsulated in his Aura, which will then imitate the original shape albeit doubling it in size. A straightforward but very effective ability, it essentially boosts the range and force of any physical object going through it while keeping the weight unchanged. He mainly uses it to further enhance his weapon’s mid-range dominance or improve its destructive force during key attacks, although it can also be easily implemented in most teams’ composition since its use is not exclusive to him. This Semblance has a few significant weaknesses, mainly that the larger the Aura projection, the more taxing it will be for Ebb to maintain the amplification before having to rest for a bit. Combined with the fact that it takes a second for him to setup the rune and that all damages to the Aura are redirected to the original object, it is not an ability he can pull off at any time nor use indiscriminately without having to get just a bit clever with his approach. He can only activate two runes at a time.

ebb lazurny » gigant ryvolov
Ebb’s weapon of choice is a large custom-made staff greatly resembling a halberd. It measures an impressive 2 meters and the axe-like head alone is roughly the same size as a chair, making for a weapon boasting great range and raw power. Its main features include a mechanism that allows the axe to switch from one end of the staff to the other in a quick and forceful motion, and the ability to transform into a harpoon cannon with a steel wire included to connect the projectile to the halberd. Ebb can wield the weapon in a variety of ways, including arching attacks and stabs while always keeping himself outside the reach of a Beowolf’s arm. Ebb himself can’t pull off many acrobatic maneuvers, and while both the weapon’s range and harpoon mode are meant to compensate for this, it still means he is most comfortable fighting somewhat defensively. His strength allows him to swing the weapon with commendable speed and his outstanding hand-eye coordination, combined with the weapon’s ability to quickly switch sides, allows him to maintain a continuous streak of mixed attacks should he find the opportunity to go on the offensive.

garnet sparrow » member of team grdn
Garnet, the name of the crimson gemstone, is said to signify a pomegranate as it is referenced as a gift of love and is associated with eternity in Greek mythology. It is also said to be associated with a lion, guarding its territory from all the possible perils in traveling and It was said to warn the wearer of approaching danger and was long ago carried as a protective talisman. She carries the name with pride.

One can no more change Garnet's mind than they can persuade the dawn not to come. She is rooted, cold, and fearless. She has trained herself to use her mind and body as weapons to her advantage, being both seductive and clever. First is the fear, then the determination not to be ruled by it. She will always choose to face fear, to conquer it. She can’t allow herself to be moulded by those who want her conveniently placated; or shy from the battlefields they create. Though her heart often beats fast and her fingers tingle from an excess of adrenaline, she is a warrior at heart. Faced with adversity she always has an ability for calm and rational thought.

She is there like a shadow until someone needs her. Garnet isn’t afraid to speak her mind and fight for what she believes in; and certainly isn’t afraid to crack a witty joke with a smirk. She knows the dirt on everyone, and can sometimes use that against them. In any crisis she takes charge, steered the most efficient course through the problem and never sticks around for any "thank you". You could not talk to her for a month or three and still she'd be happy to talk to you. It was like she had been born without the ability to harbour a grudge, though it’s in there, only reserved for people she expects more from.

garnet sparrow » copy cat
Garnet has the ability to copy the semblance of other people through physical contact. Using her knowledge of manipulation, she usually can easily get physically close to a user in order to gain control of her power. It allows her to negate an opponent's semblance by countering it with the same semblance. Or it can be used to copy a semblance from an ally and have double that semblance output in a team. This power absorption can usually cause temporarily loss of the victims ability, though not to a full extent. She can also use this power to gain an insight about the victims knowledge of power and history so she has full understanding of how to use the power as well.

Though her ability draining is a strong power, she cannot retain more than one semblance at a time; and if she wishes to re-use a previously owned semblance she will have to physically touch the person who has it again. It is also dangerous to her for if the semblance is dangerous in and of itself, having no understanding on how it works can lead to serious unwanted, self inflicted injuries.

garnet sparrow » crimson saber
Though being trained in the martial art of kendo, Garnet would agree she’s more skilled in hand-to-hand combat. She is most proficient when it comes to agile and swift techniques; the art of her combat being similar to a Tai Chi fighting style. Though, she is rarely able to use her knowledge of her combat skills, so she sticks to the sword underneath her belt. Not exactly an expert by any means, but she does know how to handle the weapon. The sword, which she simply calls her crimson saber, has a handle bound with black leather, the hilt decorated yet understated, and the blade being long and reflective.

toshiro wistaria » member of team txiq
Upon knowing about Toshiro, most people couldn't help but pity him. Why? His semblance stripped him of his own eyesight when he was born, he was abandoned and left orphaned by those whom he had thought to be the ones he could trust, he struggled and struggled to battle with the undefeated monster called life, and with his disability, it was a miracle that Toshiro even survived to tell the tales today. He had all the rights to curse this world, to carve his vengeance deep into its' core, to bring the worst imaginable agony to those who live on it.

But Toshiro didn't. Some people would accept that how you are as an individual, it majorly depends on how the world has shaped you to be, and how it has treated you. He believed otherwise. Even though his paths have been rocky, even though he had wanted to give up at times, but it is up to him solely to decide what kind of person he is to become. And he chooses to be good, to keep up an optimistic view on life, always. All the pain is finally worth it in the end, and never once had Toshiro regretted it in every step that he had made, is making and will make.

The most notable trait of Toshiro is his perseverance in the face of hardships. Without it, he may not even have survived til this day. Either because of his handicap, his short stature or his upbringing, Toshiro comes across those who looked down on him regularly, but at the end of the day, none could possibly question his strengths. He would smile at the hardships he faced as if they were nothing to be concerned of, he would stand up again and again no matter how many times he was kicked down, and he won't stop once his mind is set on something. Within the so-called 'tiny body' of his, Toshiro nurtures a resilient flame that would shine brightly until he gives out his last breath.

Perhaps fated to stand up against the cruelty of life since so young had given Toshiro a sense of maturity and responsibility that anyone might find to be odd for someone of his age. In all honesty, Toshiro doesn't look like it at all, but he is a real natural born leader. Determined, decisive, confident and at the same time understanding, sensible and calm. And, that is exactly how he treats and leads his teammates. Toshiro is relaxed and friendly generally, but he knows when to keep silent for others to voice their minds, and when to give them an earful.

Being lonely most of his childhood, affection is what Toshiro secretly yearns for. That is why he can be quite clingy and doesn't hold back when it comes to physical contacts with those who are closed to him, be it the same or opposite gender. Toshiro is not one to lose his temper easily, and is usually indifferent to anyone making fun of him. But whatever you do, don't ever call him a 'shorty' or comment on his height.

Just don't.

toshiro wistaria » pain inducement
Toshiro's semblance materializes in his eyes, and ever since he was born, he had been questioning himself whether to call it a gift or a curse. Upon gazing at someone, Toshiro can forcefully paralyze them and/or make them experience illusionary agony that can range from as mild as being pricked by a thorn to something like being burnt at the stake. Exposed such high intensity, those whom he targeted may be driven to insanity or even to dead.

Despite this semblance being so powerful, it comes with many drawbacks. The biggest one is that it somehow deprived Toshiro of his sense of sight since he was born, making him legally blinded, even though his eyes do not seem to be so. Secondly, he is not capable of activating his power at his will, nor controlling the extent of pain he inflicts on his target, which is why he kept his eyes covered all time to prevent unfortunate accidents. Lastly, some parts of the amount of pain he causes might be reflected back to him afterwards, at worst cases causing him to collapse altogether. With all these reasons Toshiro rarely, if ever, relies on his semblance in a fight.

toshiro wistaria » silver cry
With his semblance being as good as useless, Toshiro relies majorly on his weapon to carry himself on in a fight. And with his disadvantage at being blind, he has to fall back on his other senses to do anything. But not that it matters much now, as all of his remaining senses are several times more acute than normal people after extensive training, allowing him to kind of 'see' his surroundings in his own way. And Silver Cry - Toshiro's weapon, bestowed to him by his mentor, fits him perfectly. It is a long katana with a peculiar white blade, said to have been made by a very durable rare metal. It can also install different kinds of Dust to gain different proprieties, such as firing energy blasts or erecting barriers. Toshiro is capable of wielding Silver Cry quite flexibly and adeptly, and some of his dance-like techniques and moves are rather pleasing to behold. He can also wield it with another weapon if needed.

quincy albescu » member of team txiq
Quincy’s world view is more akin to that of a realist rather than an optimist or a pessimist. She sees the situation for what it is and is more than capable of dealing with it accordingly. But this has the tendency to manifest itself in dogmatic ways. She believes that her view of the world is as close to accurate as it gets, and while she’s not completely dismissive of others’ perspectives, she usually takes them with little more than a grain of salt. However, she is aware of this behavior and tries to best to curb it, since she knows how it can make her come across as a less than pleasant person.

She isn’t as overbearing with it as some authoritarian dictator, but her little quips and comments here and there can become quite annoying if one has to deal with them for too long.

Quincy has a very analytical way of thinking about things and is generally clear-headed and able to quickly assess situations and adapt to them without much effort. This lends to the very intimidating and oppressive feeling about her, which is only enhanced by her stoicness and the fact that she’s almost constantly outfitted in full armour. She gives off the impression that she would first slit your neck rather than have small talk with you, and that initial impression isn’t exactly wrong in the reality of things. Quincy has a very unyielding and severe attitude about pretty much everything, and her intenseness has the habit of scaring many people off.

But she prefers scaring others away over less enjoyable situations that can occur otherwise.

She has lived a life in which she has always had to watch her back and be cautious of the intentions of those around her, even more so since she grew up in a shady part of Menagerie, leading her to be more than a little paranoid. She often takes unnecessary precautions in any situation that most wouldn’t think of, but Quincy will often ignore voices of inquiry or concern.

Her story is not of someone persevering and coming out a kinder person for it, but of someone who was beaten down by life and then turned around and spat in its face. Becoming a huntress was just par for the course. After all, it was a huntress that had saved her life in the first place.

quincy albescu » energy detection
Quincy is able to constantly see all of the little “strings” of energy that criss cross and intertwine with each other, connecting to the world around her. She’s been able to see these strings for as long as she can remember, and has grown to understand the differences in how they shimmer from different degrees of movement or how they glow when there’s a massive source of energy present. To be more specific, it is her left eye that allows her to see these strings. It is just slightly brighter than her right and has intricate markings in it’s iris.

Despite being more of a passive ability, she is able to use it to track others by the energy they leave behind and is also able to sense Grimm by the malicious energy that they give off. In a combat sense, she is almost hyper aware of her surroundings as any significant amount of movement affects the strings of energy around her, making it incredibly hard to ambush or evade her.

Being sensitive to all energy does come with its disadvantages, as being around high amounts of any type of energy for extended periods of time can cause a sensory overload.

By a certain degree, Quincy is able to “bend” these strings and get different results depending on the type of string she’s pulling on. If she were to pull on the string of energy coming off someone else, they would feel a slight tug on what would seem to be their Aura. If she bends the strings coming off of a fire, it might flicker for a slight second. Although these are ultimately insignificant effects that have no real permanent effect on the world, she is able to use this ability to temporarily soothe someone's frantic emotions by touching them. Her target wouldn’t see anything different, but they would feel warmth and a tingly sensation emanating off wherever she has her hand placed.

To her eyes, or rather to her eye, everyone has their own unique string of energy surrounding them, which brighten and glow whenever someone activates their semblance.

With time, she gets to know the exact feeling their energy brings whenever she senses it, and she is able to pinpoint their approximate location. However, this ability grows weaker the further away that her target is and if there's a much larger, overwhelming source of energy between them.

quincy albescu » volatus & penna
Penna, her sword, is a simple broad sword with a copper hilt and copper running down the middle of the sword. The sword was hand crafted by herself and she keeps up with the maintenance on it to ensure that it can always function at its best. The sword has no trans formative capabilities, but she is able to fit customly shaped Dust crystals into the slot near its hilt in order to imbue it with different elemental Dust. Quincy is also able to fire off Dust projectiles from the sword as well.

Volatus is not a weapon, but instead it refers to a piece of her armor. Her right forearm gauntlet is able to open up into the shape of a shield, protecting her whenever she needs it and also keeping her other hand free. It does add extra weight to her arm, but it's nothing that's not manageable.

Xenos Arielle » Member of team TXIQ
Xenos is not someone most people would associate with. Arrogant to an overbearing degree, confident well past the point of socially acceptable, and condescending to even those who have bested him in the past. Xenos is essentially that person who never believes themselves to be wrong, stubborn to a fault and almost too eager to try and prove people wrong. Being a Faunus has only made his personality stick out more, as people will often times look at him like a second class citizen even though he personally holds himself as if he was royalty. Nose held high, fine clothes and anything less than delicacies for supper lead Xenos to a path that only a select few people could tolerate. He’s lived most of his life in isolation, as far as people close to him goes, and that seems to be the way he prefers it. If not, he puts up one hell of a front for it as he does everything in his power to drive them away. Or maybe he’s not even trying, it’s just who he is. Ultimately, he cares not for the opinions of others unless he specifically asks for them. As far as everyone else is concerned, they’re mere background noise to what will end up being his legend.

Xenos is, by and far, a horrible Faunus to be around. Yet, there are some silver linings to his toxic behaviour, pun intended. While he is stubborn in his decisions and actions, he can, will and has fought to defend them on more than several occasions. He will always back up his claims with either his version of proof or fighting until he physically can’t fight anymore. His drive and dedication to his craft of being a hunter is admirable, almost to the point of being fanatical. He can be seen training at all hours of the day, sweat staining his clothes and firing his weapon of choice until his fingers have coated the string in blood. His determination to not only be the best, but to prove he’s the best is so deeply ingrained into his being that anyone who would dare refute these claims has just earned themselves a duel. Even should he lose, he will train and continue to challenge that person until he eventually beats them or dies himself.

Xenos has few redeeming qualities, unless you asked him himself, in which case he would say there’s nothing wrong with the way he acts. The world simply needs to get its head on straight and realize how great he truly is. Despite this, there are a couple things that pull out a more...compassionate side to him if it could even be called that. First, he admires dedication and determination. If someone can display these traits, he’s more than willing to jump in and aid them should that not prove to be enough, although the person receiving such help will have to tolerate his inevitable bragging about saving said person. He’s also more than willing to help people train, seeing it as a way to gauge other people’s skills as well and constantly improve himself. He’s someone who believes in backing up words with action, and as such will never lie or otherwise fail to do something that he promised to do, even if it means degrading himself. There is nothing more powerful than the bond of a word spoken, and this goes both ways. If someone breaks a promise to him, he will consider that person dead and/or useless and fail to recognize them as anything of worth.

Ultimately, Xenos is a creation of his environment and a mindset twisted to serve a more selfish desire of wanting to not only be better, but ensure everyone knows it. He’s arrogant, overconfident, rude, tactless and ultimately a horrible person to be around. Despite that, he’s a skilled fighter who doesn’t understand the concept of ‘losing’. An amazing person to train with, despite his personality, and one who respects drive more than anything else. A Faunus of his word, he can be relied upon to act exactly as he says without deviation, and ultimately at his core, enjoys being a hunter. While he’s more in it to fight monsters and become the best fighter the world has ever seen, a number of people have seen a slightly softer side to him after defending others. A side that quickly disappears.

Xenos Arielle » Dust Creation
Xenos’ semblance allows him to reform Dust into various forms in order to suit his needs, although this seems to be limited to arrows and the like as those are the only items he seems to create through his Dust Creation ability. These creations attributes are allocated depending on two things: the type of dust used, and the amount of dust used. Unlike other physical objects, in the hands of the creator, Dust creations don’t weigh anything. If he had the necessary amount of dust, he could create an arrow the size of a car and carry it like it wasn’t even there, although such a thing would be impractical without a means of firing it. Theoretically, Xenos could create anything his mind could dream up, but he’s either unwilling or unable to do so.

Unlike other creation type semblances however, Xenos’ ability seems to have a very real physical toll on his body in the form of exhaustion. The amount of stamina drain relies mainly on how fast he’s firing them, how large the creation is, and in some cases, what type of Dust is used. For some reason, fire based Dust seems to have a larger pull than the others but he’s found that he can create a more explosive force with it. There’s also the fact that Xenos requires a supply of Dust to use his semblance at all, so without it he’s basically fighting without an ace in the hole so to speak.

Xenos Arielle » Sunder

Xenos’ weapon of choice is a large composite bow with tensile strength so high that most others who are unaccustomed to using such a weapon can’t hope to use it properly. Firing the bow is a workout in and of itself, although Xenos has practiced day in and day out to ensure he has no such issues with the weapon. Xenos’ is unique in the hunter world in the sense that he doesn’t necessarily have a melee option, as the bow doesn’t transform into anything else. When Xenos crafted the weapon, he decided against having it transform into any kind of close range weapon and instead turned it into as powerful a bow as he could.

The bow is durable and capable of firing arrows like a rocket should Xenos want to. His quiver, attached to his back, is loaded with both standard and utility arrows of his creation. While he can use Dust to essentially create any arrow idea he has, he doesn’t want to rely on his semblance too much in the midst of battle. Anything from standard arrows to explosive to grappling hooks to drill tips can be found in his pouch if he’s given ample time to prepare and gear up. His Quiver also holds several different types of Dust, and as such actually looks more akin to a backpack than an actual quiver.

In a pinch, the bow itself is strong enough to deflect a number of attacks in close quarters, but it’s not meant for such a thing and considering it’s closer in size to a long bow, makes it unwieldy in such a situation. Xenos has also been known to fight with his arrows as if they were small swords as well, but this is a last ditch option as they are not strong enough to withstand most blows nor are they meant to be used in such a manner.

Xenos is also a bird-type Faunus, and while incapable of flight does have feathers growing out of his forearms. He has been known, in a pinch, to rip feathers from his own arms and craft makeshift arrows this way should the situation be desperate enough for it.

ignia veranius » member of team txiq
Eyes always dreary, a disposition of disinterestedness and a voice that could rock a baby to sleep not with a lullaby, but by boring it to death. Ignia's monotone is attributed to a childhood of staying inside, not bothering to worry herself with social interaction and devoting most of her time to her studies as a huntress.

Despite her lack of visible emotions, Ignia's greatest desire is companionship. Living most of her life as a caged bird in Atlas, she could only dream of what it was like to hang out with friends. When she was locked up at home, her only way to practice her social skills were by reading books, resulting in her speaking in an almost ye old English tone. She is very vocal about her aspiration to being a skilled conversationalist, referencing tips and tricks in books that have publication dates that are too old to be considered relevant.

As she was constantly told to be her best self, courtesy of her father, Ignia is earnest in everything she does. Whether it is watering the plants or fetching a certain someone, she is proud to relinquish her full effort. She can sometimes come off as overbearing, constantly asking her teammates and peers if they are in need of anything. Almost like a puppy seeking recognition from doing a trick, Ignia revels in the feeling of being relied on.

As Ignia's only experience with people is from text to eyes not mouth to ears, she is not exactly familiar with terms such as emphasis and sarcasm. Ignia always assumes that people will mean as they say, almost like people's words are seen as text on a screen, not words with emphasis or tones. As a result, Ignia finds herself misinterpreting what people say and not even knowing how. Ignia secretly wishes that all people were more simple and easier to understand.

Another result of not being so skilled in interpreting speech is being easily misguided, intentionally or not. She is aware of the tactic of not listening to "bad" people and not believing what they say. However, when a fellow student, states that something was a "piece of cake". She doesn't exactly catch on. How can something that is intangible become something tangible? Why would it turn into a cake of all things? Why not the whole cake? By the time, she has finished with the Q & no A, she's more confused than before. Furthermore, when she is taught a new idiom, she finds herself using it in any situation despite it not making any grammatical sense.

ignia veranius » black and white
Ignia's semblance stems from her innermost desire of everyone and everything to be easier to understand. She has the ability to mark someone as a bright or as a blight. An advantage of being either is that a bright cannot hurt another bright by any means and a blight can't hurt a blight. This effect also works on objects such as falling rocks or moving cars, though Ignia would most likely have a hard time reaching the said object. A bright or blight will affect any object they touch with the status if they've made physical contact with it. If a person's semblance is a heal or buff, a bright would not be able to affect another bright and a blight to another blight. Furthermore, a bright has their aura strengthed, making their supply rise by a significant amount while a blight has their base stats increase. This effect only triggers on individuals with an aura supply. Ignia can only affect someone with bright or blight status through physical contact and the status only lasts for 10 minutes at the most depending on where she touched you. Ignia is also unable to affect herself with either status.
dab
ignia veranius » these hands
Ignia lost both of her arms to a house fire, her weapon of choice being two biotic arms rested on her stumps. As an added addition to being sturdy and them being able to dish out as much punishment as they can take. Her arms can transform into mini Gatling guns built for combat at short to mid range. They both also feature a hook shot and a taser powered by electric dust. The only downside is that she is unable to trigger her semblance with her arms, forcing her to use her elbows, knees or even head to compensate.

tamryn clementine » member of team txiq
Tammi is always the loudest voice in the room wherever she is. Her conversations are buoyant and intended to be heard. There is something of the unsatisfied thespian in her. She is confident enough to stroll into a bar filled with intoxicated teenagers, sing a song despite being out of key, deafening even. Yet she would continue to sing the badly while drunks publicized their thoughts as muffled jeers and curled lips. Then she would bow deeply and strut off stage as the hysterical laughs followed her. She's a loose cannon; Lively and fearless. But amid all the spunk and feline sexuality, she's only rarely real and raw; something rotten hidden underneath her floral facade. She's the wild card, a grenade thrown into a soup factory.

Besides her flirtatious nights with guys and gossip parties with girls, Every smile that lit up her features was the wrong sort. It's as if she runs on cold malice instead of any form of genuine affection. Perhaps she was a baby that was left to cry, or a personality disorder the doctors couldn't fix. Either way she seemed to have as much empathy as a medieval mace. She is the Picasso of passive-aggressive karate. Tammi can frequently jump from sweet to passive-aggressive to just plain aggressive within the span of one conversation. Even with her abundance of flaws, Tammi’s natural beauty and seemingly fun loving personality attracts plenty of suitors.

Tammi has a fondness for self-help books and delights in stirring up trouble. In a setting where the fizz keeps getting shaken, Tammi pops the cork in everywhere she is. She never thinks before doing. She thinks afterward, to rationalize her actions. Tammi can be described as a bitch in sheep's clothing, the well-known party girl facade disappears because she actually has a natural talent for manipulating people and a very mean streak. She's stronger than she looks/seems. A spanner in the works: Whenever she shows up, things are about to get incrementally more complicated for someone. Probably several someones. She brings her stubbornness to the group and an unwillingness to let her guard down, using her expertise of manipulation to her advantage.

tamryn clementine » breaker
Tammi can redirect/store pressure waves caused by explosions. She can either expand the area affected but have the damage be less, or confine it to a smaller area but does way more damage to a single target (think of it like a grenade, Normally thrown on the ground you'd get a fair amount of shrapnel and a lot of things hit but most could live [subjectively anyway] or you could strap it into a single person and blow them up. Less people hurt but way less likely to walk away). Any extra energy that she stores up is counted as a different source of power than her aura, so she can attack or defend with it without draining her actual aura

There are limitations: Any energy she stores from other sources quickly fades unless she keeps adding to it. She has about 10 seconds to unleash that energy at full strength or to add more before it starts to fade. Once it starts to fade away it takes about another 10 seconds to disappear, regardless of how much is stored. Another point to mention about her storing energy is that the more she stores, the less control/precision she has when she releases it.

tamryn clementine » kiss of fire
Tammi's weapon of choice is a lethal bow -- crafted of flexible, slender yew wood and wound around the grip is dyed red rawhide. On the quiver is carved the creatures who wore branches on their skulls, stampeding the horizon, pounding it into a grimace. It's an elegant design, the curve of the limbs that somehow suggests the wings of a bird extended in flight. Tammi can infuse her abilities into her arrows, which allows the arrows to penetrate cause explosions, break through barriers, and destroy whatever they hit.

Dia » member of team GRDN
When one considers a student from Atlas Academy it isn’t very hard to imagine a calm, calculated, and cool individual. Unfortunately, poor Dia is anything but cool. Try as she might to uphold her esteemed position, it’s very obvious to even those who barely know her that she hardly qualifies. She’s prone to be a flake, a ditz, and a lazy glutton who would even fail to read over the important instructions that entails a mission in favor of sleeping (waking up only to eat). Perhaps credit is not being given where credit is due, however. After all, it was not necessarily Dia who had asked for a position as unexpected as this. Thrust mysteriously with the request to transfer from the military academy to Beacon, Dia reluctantly accepted, with the prospect of her foster parents’ family name being cleared, as well as the promise of their dire financial situation being put to an end. Pulled abruptly from a happy, friendly environment that she had come to cherish, Dia was suddenly faced with a completely unfamiliar environment far away from home. In a way, it should come as no surprise to some that she was barely prepared to take on the position that had been practically forced upon her. Though Dia has her setbacks, she really does try to give it her all. As a former student of Atlas, Dia at least attempts to put on a front that she can be a competent student—but a front is only a front, and deep down there are a number of things that come together to hinder her performance and lower her self-confidence. Dia is like a lost child. She doesn’t know who she is, or where she came from. She was found in the wreckage and remains of an Atlesian city shortly after a catastrophic grimm attack befell it and can’t remember anything past that day. She has constant dreams of laying in a white room, unable to move as a figure looks down upon her; a figure she can neither see nor speak to. The only thing Dia is outstanding at is fighting. She will trip over the red cords that adorn her outfit, but once the guns are out Dia becomes an entirely different person. And it’s weird. Dia knows it’s weird, how all of these strange occurrences have surrounded her. She knows that there is some meaning behind it all. Like a child, however, she covers her ears and pretends it’s all a coincidence. Simply put, Dia is afraid of the truth; a truth she wishes to run away from, but ultimately fails to—

The truth that she is not human, but in fact an artificially created being whose purpose is to destroy.

All of her insecurities and fears stem from this uncertainty. Up until the very moment she joined Atlas Academy, this sense of inadequacy is the driving force of her self-consciousness and social awkwardness. Despite her shortcomings and fears, if there is one aspect in her life that is her light, it is her friends. Dia values friendship and loyalty, and will do anything for those she holds dear. Once her mind is set on something Dia develops an iron will that won’t easily shatter. With what she is passionate in, even, such as poetry and cooking, Dia’s motivation will show no bounds… even if the former will cause anyone to burst out laughing and the latter to kill someone. She will get worked up at the smallest of things and may cry at the drop of a hat, but Dia is Dia. Dia is a girl who has yet to realize her full potential; a character of a story who carries a major burden. Even so, contrary to her dark origins, her feelings and emotions are distinctly human. There is hope, even for her.

Dia » Valkyrie Release
Dia has an unusual semblance in that it is directly linked to the weapons she wields. Upon activating her semblance Dia pours her aura into Brynhildr, which are her two twin handguns respectively named after a Valkyrie from Norse mythology. This allows Brynhildr to be fired without the need to reload as well as gaining the ability perform attacks at will in the desired location, regardless of walls and other obstacles, detonating a powerful blast wherever Dia aims it. Valkyrie Release lasts as long as Dia has sufficient aura to sustain it. As with all other semblances, once the user's aura runs out then it is no longer usable.

Dia » Brynhildr
While you could say that Dia's semblance directly effects her weapons, it is actually more like her weapons ARE her semblance. Brynhildr at first may seem to be just two over sized hand guns but in reality these two guns have the ability to change into three different forms once Dia's Valkyrie Release is activated. Dia uses these other forms depending on the situation at hand, with the first form being a powerful machine gun for multiple targets, the second being a shotgun for considerably large and stationary targets, and the final form being a sniper form for long ranges. Dia can switch to any form at any time as long as Valkyrie Release is active. Once her aura runs out however, Brynhildr reverts back to it's base form and will require dust ammunition to fire. Due to the unusually long barrels of the guns, Dia uses them as blunt melee weapons for extreme close combat.

Gem McCrain » Member of team GRDN
Say hello to the Leader of Team GRDN, a man with a constant smile and swagger to his step, a beaming personality filled with an exuberance that rivals even the most optimistic people in the world. Unfettered by impending doom, danger or any sense of threat, Gem is truly a person who can keep his cool in practically any situation and think both inside and outside the box. Taking his own name to heart, he believes himself to be a glittering ‘Gem’ amidst what could otherwise be called a dark world and does his best to bring light to anyone and everyone around him, regardless if they appreciate his presence. Filled to the brim with an energy derived from unknown sources, it is rare to catch this guy sleeping or even resting, as he seems to be driven by an unquenchable desire to be doing something exciting or otherwise worthy of his attention. With nothing but a laugh and a mix of a warcry and scream of excitement, Gem will leap into the fray without a moment’s hesitation.

A notorious flirt, Gem has been described as ‘someone who will chase anything with two legs and a pulse’, and this includes men as well. He doesn’t seem to be deterred by sex, seeing everything and everyone as a potential target for his affection even if they are quite clear that they don’t care nor want his forward intentions. With nothing but a laugh and a beaming smile bright enough to blind creature and person alike, he moves forward unfettered by these rebuttals, intent on making the whole world his harem it would seem. Whether this is his genuine goal or he sees it as nothing but a game is truly a question that goes unanswered, as he is more than capable of turning it off at a moment’s notice to focus on the more important matters at hand.

It would be too much to say that a switch has been flipped, as his personality remains largely the same. Shouting out flirtatious quips when the moment dies down, or smiling at an otherwise unwinnable situation, but Gem displays an adequacy for strategy and tactics that would seemingly be out of place for someone as carefree as Gem. Full of situational awareness and a keen eye, Gem has more than once accurately deduced a weakness before it was fully evident, and capitalized on it. This, along his infatuation with practically everyone on a...more than a professional manner, means he’s aware of everyone’s strengths and weaknesses. This allows him to pick people for the right job and allocate them accordingly. If one can get past his constant romantic advances and overly enthusiastic personality, they’ll find themselves a reliable leader with a strong record of beating the unbeatable.

That being said, there are a couple of things that Gem isn’t particularly good at. Boundaries would definitely be one, considering he often wants to be close to people regardless of their particular feelings towards him. He’ll often intrude on private moments because he wants to be where the action is, even if it’s something quite sensitive. His constant advances have become annoying on more than one occasion and people often need to take a break from him in order to recharge their own social batteries as he can wear people out with his presence alone. On top of this, Gem doesn’t handle being alone very well. He’s a social creature, and constantly requires company, even if that company doesn’t want him there. In fact, one could call his greatest fear ‘isolation’. While he’s not prone to panic, that would most likely be the closest he would get if he were cut off from people for any significant amount of time.

In the end, the reason Gem became a hunter isn’t necessarily because he wants to be a Hero, but because he found something he’s good at. Fighting and Leading are things that come as easily to him as breathing does, while also allowing him to remain fit and otherwise a specimen to behold in order to allow his flirtatious behaviour some merit on its own. Saving people is always a plus, looking good while doing it and eyeing up all the veritable ‘candy’ while doing so is probably his main goal as a hunter.

Gem McCrain » Light Absorption
Much like his personality, Gem’s semblance is directly linked to the amount of light he’s standing in. While within the presence of any lightsource, his aura will replenish faster than normal and can actually enter an ‘overcharged’ state, almost like adding an extra battery to his own personal shield. He can either use this to simply buff his defensive abilities, taking extra hits and otherwise stand tall under an assault that would topple other hunters, or he can go on the offensive with it. At a low charge, he can make himself burn bright, making it hard to look at Gem as if he were the sun itself and potentially blinding anyone looking at him. At mid charge, he can add a plasma-type element to his attacks, hitting like his weapons were superheated. At max charge, he can expel his entire aura in order to produce a singular blast. Typically from his right hand (Although he can expel it from any limb), his arm will glow intensely before expelling a beam of light that burns hot, cutting a swath in front of him or whichever direction he happens to be aiming. Doing so expels all current energy from his aura and leaves him otherwise defenseless for a minute or so. Technically speaking, he can perform this attack at any charge level, but to varying results. Predictably, the most powerful blast comes from a fully charged ‘battery’.

While Gem’s semblance charges faster under sunlight, artificial light works as well, although at a reduced rate (closer to 10%). So, as long as there is an actual light source that Gem can stand in, he’ll be charging his batteries in some form or another. Even moonlight works, as it is simply a reflection of the sun, although only at half capacity.

Gem McCrain » The Kurahai Twins
A dual set of mechanized Tonfas are Gem’s weapons of choice. Instead of the typical ‘blunt’ approach to these weapons, the attack sides of the Tonfas are bladed, long enough to cause a serious injury should he get a good hit in. Naturally, these weapons are also machine guns, spouting barrels from the short side of the weapons. These weapons are more than capable of spitting out a sizable chunk of lead in a matter of seconds, but can burn through their ammunition in just the same amount. His weapons are reloaded much like a cassette player, which unfortunately means that Gem isn't able to refill his ammo quickly. Typically, when he runs out of ammo, he has to disengage momentarily in order to resupply.

These weapon’s transformed state sees them combined into a minigun type weapon. In this form, the ammo feed changes to a belt system that Gem usually wears on his person like a bandolier. In this form, Gem is extremely limited in his melee capability as the belt feed hampers his ability to move the weapon any great amount. Instead, he can disengage the belt and utilize the weapon as a single sided double handed blade (example, not actual image of his weapon) to engage people in close quarters once more. In this final form, Gem sacrifices speed for power, which he mainly uses against the more heavily armored foes he comes across.
