Introduction
In the world of Ferya there are people of all sorts. There are demons and angels, dwarves, elves, and of course humans. The world is modern with cell phones and high tech cameras and tape recorders. There is no avoiding the development of new things. Buildings are being built from sheet rock and steel beams. Cares zoom down interstates and planes fly through the large fluffy clouds. Mostly only humans inhabit the busy cities, as the other races prefer to stick to "the old times." There are still many parts of the beautiful world with cottages and farms.
In the small town of Mirrim sits a large mansion. The building is three stories high with a bell tower at the very top. it is said that part of the mansion was once a church. Legend says that the mansion was built by some of the first settlers of the town, but that they had passed away due to a famine and now haunt the many halls. The building went many years without an owner, but it has recently been bought by a wealthy family, who plan to put it to good use.
The Saiforro family has purchased the mansion and worked on it for about a year to make it suitable to live in. Every room has been furnished and it is the family's hope that people will move in soon. Anyone who moves into the mansion will be well taken care of. There will be food on the dinner table for every meal, bedding will be washed, floors swept, rooms cleaned, and constant medical care available. The mansion is open to anyone whom may need it, but it is mostly intended for those with some form of mental or physical illness.
On the first floor of the mansion sets a ballroom, office, dining room, kitchen, five bedrooms with connecting bathrooms, infirmary and several storage closets. The second floor is made up completely of bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and balcony. The third floor, which contains the bell tower, is strictly off-limits. No except the Saiforro family may enter this floor, and it is always guarded.
Barlo Mansion is open to beings of any race or species.

She tried, however, to relax. She shut her eyes and breathed deeply, reminding herself that this was a safe place. Then she tried answering his question--it was the first time anyone asked her anything personal. "I--I'm from around town, but..." she looked towards the windows, draped with the curtains. Tears welled up in her eyes but she shook her head and calmed herself. "Just, a few miles from here," she said, and returned her gaze to his.

She saw the lost, home-sick look in his eyes and immediately related to him. She shook her head and glanced back at the guard, then back to Tarrik.
"Let me try something," she said. Gently, Alice lifted herself off her chair and went towards the patient's table. She flickered her ghostly glow on--almost angelic--and hovered her fingers over the guard's wrist. Shutting her eyes, Alice tried to stir some of her energy into the guard's flesh, leaving her looking near transparent. After a while, when she couldn't take its power anymore, she settled down and retrieved her normal figure again, although feeling quite dizzy. She reached out for a hand or something to keep her up.
Tarik watched Alice closely, she had moved before he could prevent her from doing anything. He watched in awe as she seemed to become transparent. What a curious situation...
When she became dizzy he grabbed her arms gently and eased her back into the chair that she had been sitting in.
However, Isamu did not seem to move.
Tarik watched him closely, anxious for any sign of improvement at all. But there was none. With a sigh the doctor went back and sat in his seat.
After a few minutes of quiet, Isamu's fingers twitched. He squeezed his hand into a balled fist then relaxed again. His eyelashes fluttered and after a few more short moments his eyes opened. They were a very pretty blue in color, but were also very icy. They sometimes even left people feeling a little cold in their bones.
His eyes were open, but there was a look of confusion written on his pale face.

She took in Tarik's warm presence. When she had first came here she could hardly trust anyone, and yet, in a non-threatening way, in a very kind and honest way, they made her feel a little more at home. She showed her appreciation by giving his hand a small squeeze, finally feeling some kind of warmth from real, living flesh.
She understood what he had said, and, not meaning to ignore him, responded, "You are not alone. While I have no control being here, it must be hard knowing others are out there, longing for you." Alice bit her lip, remembering the look of her father's face when she had started to transform. She shook her head. "My dad...he hates me now, just because--"
She was distracted by something moving across the room. Tilting her head, she saw that the guard's fingers had twitched and his eyes--sending chills down her spine, so many she nearly transformed right there again--flickering open. Realizing her hand was still on Tarik's, she lifted it up and brought it to her lips in surprise.

Isamu stared blankly at the white ceiling tiles, then looked at Tarik, "I'm in the infirmary, aren't I?" He asked, not sounding a bit surprised at all. He had remembered going to the infirmary, but he wasn't sure exactly how accurately his brain was functioning at the current moment.
Isamu's voice was cracked and quiet. He was soft spoken but a bit of pain lingered in his voice, both physical and mental.
Tarik nodded, "Alice brought you here," he replied, gesturing towards the young lady.
Isamu looked over at her and did his best to give her a small smile, "I know... and for that, I thank you... Alice."

When Tarik gestured to her she immediately glanced down. She had had enough attention for the day, yes. But what really put the pink in her cheeks was how the guard seemed to know her name. Was he listening the whole time? Could he understand everything she said? More importantly, she felt somewhat--strange, to have hold and cared for something (now someone) she barely knew.
And yet, what could she say in that moment? She stuttered a bit, her eyes trying to fixate on the guard's harsh, icy one. A stray lock fell in front of her face but didn't tuck it back, embarrassed. "I...how do you know my name?"

"Welcome to the world of pneumonia," Tarik said sarcastically, "But im sure you know all too well about that anyway. Your medical files say that you've had it several times before."
Isamu nodded, "Yes..." He then looked at Alice, "Young lady, don't ever get pneumonia... it's a drag." That was meant to be a joke, as Isamu was trying his best to lighten the mood, but he wasn't a very funny person...
Alice flinched at his coughing, hearing the pain and knowing how lucky she was not to be sick. While she had been drenched just a half hour ago, she wasn't nearly in as bad as condition as the poor fellow, and only smiled at his awful attempt to make fun.
Alice glanced at the doctor, wondering what he was going to do next to help him. Alice had an inherent urge to help others--especially ones she didn't know--in case she could use their trust somehow in the future. She started about for some blankets and a pillow to make him more comfortable. She didn't know what to do--to lift him up or to let him rest--but she at least wanted to provide the option. "What is your name?" she asked, wondering if guards even had a name, if they just had positions or...well, she didn't quite know.
"Isamu Korino... im from... far away," he stated simply. "Thank you," he added once both Tarik and Alice had given him the pillow and blankets. "I get sick a lot because of my weight issues and im often exposed to the elements so... yeah..." he gave them both a small smirk.
Tarik sighed, "Well, I guess maybe I should require that all of the guards get monthly wellness check-ups and such... you guys are always all over the place... it's difficult to really keep track of who is who."
"Well... I can name a few to help ya' out. There is a guard who transforms into a kestrel, her name is Ellra. There are three swallows, Jason, Mason, and Lou. There is a large eagle names Ivan, and then there is myself. There are a few names for you." Isamu listed off several of the guards, but soon he became even more exhausted, and had a rather difficult time keeping his eyes open.
He did not hear Alice as she entered the room.

Because no one else seemed to be up and about Tsukasa didn't bother covering her face with her hand or arm. No one would see her, or so that's what she thought.
With clearer vision now, he saw that the various sand piles about the room were all gone. Between that and the light coming in from the windows made him believe that it dissipated as it normally did; a better alternative to someone coming in to remove it. While he accepted that whatever madness took him was a part of him, the whole world didn't need to know about it.
Not until he stood near their bedside anyway. Heh.
Jordyn got to his feet then and stretched a bit before starting his march outside Tsukasa's room. He glanced at the bag near the bed but found it of little interest to him so he continued out into the hallway and toward the common room.
Pah, he was supposed to go out to get clothes the previous night but.. no luck.
///Exiting The Bedrooms///
He passes right by Tsukasaโs room. That man is still there, curled up, not in a good state for questioning. Damakos is sure to deal with him much later when the occasion arises, right now he must focus on one thing at a time. That one thing is where the sand trail has started. The Tiefling ignores the bird by him, seeing as she decided to hop off and on to the floor. Sheโs guaranteed to follow him anyways.
On his way down to the sand trailโs beginnings he ponders, specifically on what it is that has occurred. The man, the birds, the girl, the invitation, the ghost, all of it confuses him and nothing truly adds up to anything.
He wants to believe that this is all in his head. He wants to believe that this placeโs owner is actually looking out for his well being. The manโs instincts still keep him heavily on his guard. All he has now is the sand trail to follow.
Flash forward to the next morning. Jordynโs sand trail has completed faded away with the hours, making it appear to be much more paranormal in nature than he had once thought it to be. Damakos continued to stare down, losing sight of it due to being somewhat tired, having lost much sleep.
Eventually he will have to lie down and rest but the question is where? That shall be the goal for today after he finds the supposed beginnings.

And to add onto that, she thought she could hear someone else wandering around the hallways. Great, just great. Now there was a chance of TWO people catching her without her face being properly covered. The last thing she wanted was to be interrogated.

"Malniya? Have you made it here?" He called out, half hoping it was not his sister. He sighed, realizing he should have just waited on her to pack her damned suitcase.

The setting changes from The Common Room to The hallways
Malniya wander the halls in silence. Occasionally she could hear a faint rumble but it was too quiet to ascertain the origins. As she walked she massaged her neck and shoulders, she really shouldn't be sleeping on couches anymore. With quiet knocks she announced herself to empty rooms, hoping to find some sign of life, it was so much quieter than home, with 7 brothers and sisters overrunning their small island, it was no wonder to hear shrieking and laughter and loud bangs anytime of day or night. As much as she hated to possibly disturb anyone still abed, she had to have some noise. She opened her phone again, selecting a random piece of music, a piano piece from Dad's homeland, Imraladis, one of Mom's favorites, before heading onward, finally a little less uneasy about the silence.
The setting changes from The hallways to The Dining Hall
Damakos continues walking about a fixed path until he arrives in The Dining Hall. It is where he presumes the now disintegrated sand trail had to have begun. The place looks quite alright from where he is, and there even appears to be another person, from the way heโs acting, the Tiefling can deduce that he knows the owner or is one of the subordinates. He is human much like Tsukasa and Jordyn, except there's nothing unsettling about him, save for his species.
Now the fact that the person is human alone and most importantly unknown is grounds for Damakos not to bother with eating any of the food, he considers settling for hunting if he begins starving. Intentional food poisoning is not a tactic unseen or uncommon for the Tiefling, as many harsh lessons have taught him. His stomach even churns at the thought, causing him to grit his teeth and narrow his eyes in a hardened expression.
Damakos quickly scans the area, turning his head around frantically. He wants to be seen by the chef and the chef only; any other presence here will certainly draw unwanted attention. He must remain cautious and diligent. The only tactful thing he decides to do is show the Barlo Mansion invitation he received before arriving. That will at least keep any authority figures away right now.
