Introduction

The story is not set in our world, it is set in it's own world, that is similar to ours. There are cars, cell phones, and cameras. I wanted to give it it's own bit of mystery by placing it somewhere unknown.

In the world of Ferya there are people of all sorts. There are demons and angels, dwarves, elves, and of course humans. The world is modern with cell phones and high tech cameras and tape recorders. There is no avoiding the development of new things. Buildings are being built from sheet rock and steel beams. Cares zoom down interstates and planes fly through the large fluffy clouds. Mostly only humans inhabit the busy cities, as the other races prefer to stick to "the old times." There are still many parts of the beautiful world with cottages and farms.

In the small town of Mirrim sits a large mansion. The building is three stories high with a bell tower at the very top. it is said that part of the mansion was once a church. Legend says that the mansion was built by some of the first settlers of the town, but that they had passed away due to a famine and now haunt the many halls. The building went many years without an owner, but it has recently been bought by a wealthy family, who plan to put it to good use.

The Saiforro family has purchased the mansion and worked on it for about a year to make it suitable to live in. Every room has been furnished and it is the family's hope that people will move in soon. Anyone who moves into the mansion will be well taken care of. There will be food on the dinner table for every meal, bedding will be washed, floors swept, rooms cleaned, and constant medical care available. The mansion is open to anyone whom may need it, but it is mostly intended for those with some form of mental or physical illness.

On the first floor of the mansion sets a ballroom, office, dining room, kitchen, five bedrooms with connecting bathrooms, infirmary and several storage closets. The second floor is made up completely of bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and balcony. The third floor, which contains the bell tower, is strictly off-limits. No except the Saiforro family may enter this floor, and it is always guarded.

Barlo Mansion is open to beings of any race or species.

If you would like, you can even make a staff member! Below is a list of positions, but if you think of any more please let me know!

I do not have profiles made for those listed above, so you can still create the character however you would like.

Toggle Rules

#1. Please make your posts at least 100 words in length or adjust it when necessary. I don't wan't to be the person that tells you that you HAVE to write a certain amount, but please use your best judgement. If someone writes a four paragraph post do not reply with a one-liner. The 100 word count is simply to give you a base. If someone posts less than that use your own judgement. I do understand writer's block.

#2. No Mary Sues or Marty Stue's or whatever they are called. Please, please, please!

#3. Please keep romantic stuff to a pg13 level...

The swallow on the floor hopped along in front of him. it was a cheerful little fellow and it led the young man right on down the hall and to the common room. The common room was quiet tonight as everyone was off somewhere doing something else. The embers in the fireplace glowed lightly from the earlier fire. The room itself was very warm and welcoming.

He followed the bird, amused to watch it as it hopped it's way along. When they reached the destination he quickly checked around to see I anyone else was there. After that proved fruitless, he studied the room to ascertain it's purpose.

"Well, little one, this seems to be a cheery sitting room, but could you direct me to the kitchen? I need to find the head chef and apply for a job." He smiled at the little bird, hoping it would be willing to do so.

The small swallow led down the hall and to the large dining hall. Once there it flew onto the back of a chair and waited for him.

The chef was clearing tables from dinner, and washing the tops. It was very quiet in the dining hall, but it had a rather warm and friendly glow. He stopped when he Tonnerre. "Hello young man, you've missed dinner... would like me to heat up some leftovers for you?"

Fantastic! Tonerre gripped the case in his left hand as he turned to follow the bird. He paused to get one last feel of the room. He hoped he would be back here another time, but next time as an employee napping though his break.

He then shook his head to clear it of thoughts about cozy couches and warm fires. He had to focus on hot stoves and soapy sinks.

With a shrug he walked out the door, following the little bird.

The creature threw its weapon against the ground and let out an ear-piercing, blood-curdling screech that made Jordyn wince with just how loud he heard it. He grinned broadly yet didn't stop the sand from continually pouring into his hand - so much so that it was running over, "Giving up?"
Jordyn's eyes followed the creature as it moved, was it planning something? He would have none of it. "Then submit." Yes, an act of mercy by painlessly killing the beast was better than what he'd originally thought. The delusional young man pointed with his right hand just in front of him (not the hand that was faced upward). "On your knees." The, currently, weak logical side of him figured it was a one-sided conversation but he knew the creature would understand him - it was his fantasy after all.

Just then, the unexpected happened; the wall opened up and swallowed the bird creature! Jordyn growled under his breath and flung the sand where it had been standing, simultaneously throwing some of it outside (and possibly on Tsukasa) despite not actually seeing the window or the girl. He cast his glare downwards and his breathing turned heavy. The sand pouring from his rings and fingers suddenly stopped and he yelled loudly, pounding his fist against the wall.

"When I find you, I'll put you into a deep slumber." His body grew tired then as it often did after such episodes and he slumped against the wall - too tired to move to the bed (although, he probably would've refused such an offer).

Now, of course, anyone happening upon this room would find the strange sight of the young man curled up with several piles of golden sand strewn about the room. Without being used though, it would dissipate in a few hours.

There is a huge ruckus going on right now. The ruckus starts with the bird, which begins pecking frantically at the glass in rapid session with equal desperation in her movements. Then the bird is gone.

In between that he glances back to the bedroom ahead of him. Tsukasa had sprung up, immediately reaching for the lamp in self defense. Howeverโ€ฆ the angle is quite interesting. Her mask is off; sheโ€™s hiding something about her face. He doesnโ€™t know what it is.

That madman is steadily approaching her. His body is shaking. Sand is oozing out of his ring and onto the floor in an unusual amount, now this comes as no surprise to Damakos, perhaps it is the work of some magic. It may have to be removed. Heโ€™ll get to it much later.

Meanwhile, he can spot something peculiar about Tsukasaโ€™s mouth. Itโ€™s somewhat brief with Jordyn in the way and all; more of it is then obscured when she exits out of the window that he originally entered. Her bags are still there, sheโ€™ll be back.

That same bird from before has came full circle, landing on the Tieflingโ€™s arm. This is odd behavior. He stares down at the cut on her belly, which is bleeding heavily. It looks quite deep from examination. The bird would be disemboweled if the cut were any deeper. Why she gravitated towards a Tiefling remains a mystery.

Damakos keeps the bird on his arm, she is not bothering him. He walks over to the window in which she originally rammed against. He unlocks it, opens it and then peers outside; looking around for Tsukasa or somewhere the bird has came from. Both have piqued his interest to an extent. Heโ€™ll make an effort to follow the sand trail later.

Well, he found the dining hall, unfortunately it already had a chef. He shook his head at the question, "No thanks, I was hoping to apply for a job in the kitchen actually."

"Oh, yeah! For my little guide." He reached into his pocket and found the remains of a snack he had this morning, tossing some crumbs to the little bird. For good measure he reached down and patted it gently on the head. After that he set the case held in his left hand on a nearby table and dropped his ruck sack on the floor, stretching to get some mobility back into his tired limbs.

Looking back to the chef he stood up straight, "Though not classically trained, I have some experience in the kitchen. I hope there is a position available." After he spoke he tried to discreetly look about the place, to get a feel for this chef and his style.

Out of breath, Malniya lets go of her luggage and braced her hands on her knees, that stupid , had he just waited a few extra minutes for her to finish packing they could have arrived together! She took one more deep breath and looked up at the building in front of her, impressed by the size. She lifted the pet carrier to her face, grinning at the very small black cat sleeping inside, "What do you think Blaka?" She poked the kitten on the nose, stirring him. He grunted and shifted, turning his face from the door, and went back to sleep. She bent and picked up her luggage and dragged it along, she hoped she could find her stupid brother before he blew this job possibility for them.

The dining hall wasn't huge but it was very clean and tidy. Everything was also very well organized. The floor was clean and the tables shiny. It would be a nice place to work.

Malniya aimlessly wandered into a room, which appeared to be a commons type area. A quick scan of the room showed it to be relatively empty, with a defeated sigh she fell back on a couch and blew her hair out of her eyes. She turned the pet carried to face her and opened it, pulling out Blaka. From her pocket she produced a small bag a treats and fed him a few, and looked around the very quiet room. Just a quick rest before she went off in search of her brother.

Alice jumped when she saw the winged young man, terrifyingly thin and sickly. That bird...it was him, the whole time. She was petting a bird, but she was really comforting something--someone else. Alice's gaze was stuck on him, worry and terror rushing through her body. Thankfully a pair of clothes interrupted her gaze and she could distract herself with something.

She went through the bathroom's door to give herself some privacy. She shut it softly, but once she did she began to shake off everything that had just happened to her. First, surrounded by two men, both of whom had ran off "mysteriously." Second, a bird oddly seeking her attention, who turned out to be one of the mansion's "lead" guards, and possibly saved his very life, which was the last thing Alice ever thought she would or even could do. And oh yeah, not mention--again--surrounded by two new, somewhat young males.

Alice shuddered as she began stripping out of her freezing, wet clothes and slipping into the attire the man in the infirmary had given her--a t-shirt and a pair of lose pants. She flipped her hair out of her t-shirt and glanced at herself in the mirror. It had been a while since she'd seen her reflection. She felt like a mess and looked completely ridiculous in the too-big outfit, but she was glad to had finally received some warmth. She picked up Lark's jacket and realized she hadn't returned it yet. Shrugging it back on for some extra warmth, she made a mental note to return it to him the next time he showed up (whenever that was).

Alice took a deep breath and one last look at herself before turning the knob and gently peeking through. She saw the winged guard lying there, but appeared to be breathing. She held her dress in her arms and hesitantly walked over to the doctor's side.

"Tarik, right?" Alice forced a small smile. "Lark told me you'd be here." She glanced back again to the guard, biting her lip, and returned her gaze back to Tarik.

Tarik nodded, 'You have the name correct," he told her with a smile. He then walked over to a filing cabinet and unlocked on the drawer's. He flipp through several manilla folders before taking one out, the name on it read, 'Isamu Korino-Staff-Head Guard-"

Tarik opened the folder and looked inside. There was an ID sheet with a photo of Isamu and a list of information. "It says here in his medical records that he suffers with weight loss and has has pneumonia twice before. He is sensitive to salt and must eat in moderation... thats kinda odd...."

Tsukasa heard rustling close by. She looked over towards the entrance to the garden and noticed a young woman. With a scowl Tsukasa turned towards the tree trunk and hid her face, not wanting to be seen. Well, not like he expected to be in charge of a kitchen first time out on a job. Then again, it was job with no difficulties. Tonnerre mentally shrugged and outwardly smiled. "Thank you for the invitation, chef. If it is ok with you, I would like to start immediately."

He looked about the place, trying to find fault in the dining area, but he could not. This looked to be a promising place to learn the trade.

The kestrel let out a small chirp then flew down from Damako's arm. She landed on the floor and stared up at him, her dark eyes watching. The bird was small, and tan, with a few colorful feathers. A bird of prey, the kestrel had long talons and a razor sharp beak. She seemed to like Damako's and stayed close to him.

Like all of the other birds around the mansion, the kestrel was a guard. She watched over the mansion day and night, ready to attack anyone who intended to cause harm.

It was her duty to check on each of the mansion's residence daily, and to make sure that they were all okay.

Tonerre rushed through the halls, looking for signs of his sister, hoping to spy her before she saw him. She would be pissed that he had went on ahead, and he was not looking forward to her fury. The rucksack slung over his right shoulder bounced wildly as he ran, threatening to fall off at any moment. The case in his let hand seemed to be oddly calm in its motions compared to its owner. His running steps were muffled by the carpet on the floor. Only a faint rumbling, like a distant storm was heard. Occasionally the quiet was broken by the sound of a door being quickly opened and, after a pause, quickly closed again.

He should have paid more attention to the path he took before, he was too bemused by the little bird. He stopped at a corner to catch his breath, hopelessly lost.

"Oh," was all Alice could say in that moment. She crossed her arms and walked over--slowly over--to the edge of the patient's table. "Well...he certainly looked like he needed some help." She shuddered at his sickly sight. At least, judging by Tarik's response, the patient would survive. Now would she, from all this craziness?

Alice reached for a chair nearby and just leaned on in, rubbing her head and swallowing. It had been a rough night, and so much had happened--and yet, here she was, in the infirmary, where people go to feel better. Although, the friendly smile did help a bit. Alice dared to sneak another glance at the guard. Was he simply in need of help? Or was he protecting her somehow?

Tarik let out a heavy sigh, "He should be okay. Pneumonia in such a sickly person is very dangerous though, I'll have to watch him carefully..." He pulled a chair over to the bed and sat down, placing his chin on one of his hands. "So, where are you from anyway?" he asked Alice in a friendly, but tired tone. Tarik really was not sure if Isamu would really pull through or not.

Collectibles

Once an Item has been created, it can be spawned in the IC using /spawn Item Name (case-sensitive, as usual) — this can be followed with /take Item Name to retrieve the item into the current character's inventory.

Mobs
