Several tank-like transport vehicles made their way down the street, police vehicles following close behind them.
The vehicles stopped, men and women clad in black uniforms and armor climbing out of the transports to clutter the street. "Get these vehicles out of the way. We have to make sure there is room for medical personnel on the street and in the air." A man ordered.
THe man calling the shots stepped out of a transport, an older bald man with dark skin and the facial expression of someone who didn't know what the word happy meant.
"Clear out the civilians and any unidentified paramilitary." The continued, "Double time."

The setting changes from Main Street (Continued) to The Palace
Stryfe sat in her office, Nina standing near her desk, pen moving swiftly along her paper. The letter she wrote was urgent, one that could potentially change the future of Terra. She only hoped those she sent the letter to would be receptive to the ideas presented.
She wrote, 'Hello, captain, officer, prime minister, ambassador, colonel, general, director, president, senator, or congressman, whomever you may be. My name is Fatin Alfarsi, you may, or may not, know me, but I am one of two heads of the organization known as The Invictus. I write you this letter because I, like you, currently live on Terra. I am invested in it's well-being and the well-being of it's people, their freedom from threats such as the Aschen, the Taiyou, Belkans and any others who would rather keep us from being who we want to be, from being individuals.
I ask for a meeting to earn your support in a full reform of the Terran government and how it perceives official, and unofficial, sovereign entities and organizations who would like representation on the planet and it's affairs.
We have to join together because we are on this planet, if the planet is lost, we lose as a collective. I, for one, do not plan to allow any more lives to be taken by those who would rather do harm to our people. Our brethren.

The Kaze no Tani initiated it's landing protocols, and began re-entry through the Atmosphere. The ship bucked and shook as the Commandant grasped the railing.
"Landing ETA, Five minutes." A White clad Lieutenant advised, as the ship bucked, shook and rattled. Those on the ground directly around the WCPD would hear a deafening series of booms, which would come dangerously close to shattering nearby windows. The massive Shokaku class carrier, the Kaze no Tani soared overhead in a brilliant fireball, lighting up the city below and throwing up Taiyou morale as they prepared their charge.
The Ship nearly clipped the top edge of several buildings before it came to rest within the lake, in a massive plume of water, steam, and an audible hiss of water. As the ship settled in it's landing spot, it's massive deck guns swiveled to bear direct aim on the WCPD Building, before a handful of Jet Tengu launched from the deck, followed by a squadron of A6M5 Reisen fighters, which circled the building with the Jigabachi attack helicopters.

NPA aircraft and vehicles began to crowd the area, more Invictus vehicles following them to the scene along with several helicopters. "That's Arya and her people." Preston said as he and several other members of the team carried a large RPG-like weapon.
The soldiers aimed the weapon upwards at the Taiyou helicopter, "This is Ripper-1, we're engaging all Taiyou forces at will. Holding fire is no longer an option." Preston said, seconds letter a beam of dark blue energy shot out from the weapon quickly at the helicopter Motoko had exited from earlier.
The beam seemed to distort the air with an intense heat as it moved, the mixture of energy and plasma attempting to overload any shielding the vehicle had until it breached to the hull to do any real damage.

Anodyne was probably crazy for facing off with the ship. Or cocky. Or stupid. Like a Rattlesnake she waited to strike at her prey.

Motoko Kusanagi stopped in her tracks at the sound of an explosion, the Major narrowed her eyes and then checked the Cybercomm.
"Commandant, the Militia and WCPD Agents have neutralized the Conscripts." She looked out and shook her head. "And they're shooting at our helicopters." She said, grabbing her C30. "This whole thing could be avoided if she just came quietly." She said, of course being a combat hardened cyborg with no organic parts, she wasn't worried about the strange smoke.
The Helicopter went down in a plume of smoke, the Terrans fired the first shot, which justified Taiyou retaliation. Preston and his team would find two Jigabachi AV Helicopters bearing down on him, launching missiles from their wing mounted missile racks.
The Missiles would sear towards them and impact in a brilliant flash of light, and a powerful explosion vaporizing anything in it's immediate area. Nearby buildings were forced outwards and began to collapse, as a small fireball mushroomed into the air.
The Jigabachis followed up on the survivors with a fusillade of 30mm chaingun fire, tearing through most vehicles, chewing them up.
The Jet Tengu moved on the NPA Vehicles. "Weapons free, we are now officially in a state of war with the TNG." And they moved to harass and shoot down the NPA Vehicles, which of course likely didn't stand a chance against the Taiyou onslaught.
The Major interfaced with Casey's phone, and she would find it ringing.

Ayako Katamura surveyed the fighting from the bridge of her ship. "Online the fifty centimeter guns, conventional ordinance. Target the center of the fighting." She ordered, and two massive turrets swiveled on the deck and bore aim to the city.

"Fire." She said simply.
The Shokaku class carrier finally opened fire, not from it's nuclear batteries, but the side mounted deck guns, they let off their thundering report, and hurled explosive shells into the fighting. The shells cracking as they broke the sound barrier, streaking in the skies.
Should they impact, they would go off with thundering explosions, rocking the city. These would be difficult to deflect, as the Energy would seemingly conduct around the shells and make it difficult to interact with them.

By the time she hit the ground, cracking the concrete but not doing any significant damage, she was almost fully intact again.
"That was an unpleasant experience." She muttered, glancing around and registering the halt in combat. She patched into her communicators, broadcasting both to the WCPD and the NPA. "What is the current status? There appears to have been a halt in the attack!"

"This is Lennox Carver of the NPA, we're not sure. The Taiyou are either retreating or planning to launch more, stronger, attacks. They may be deploying ground forces." Lennox said over the radios.

Ayako Katamura nodded affirmingly at the results before she turned to one of the Lieutenants. "Engage verticle boosters and prepare for liftoff." She said, as the various deployed vehicles began to pull back to the Taiyou Carrier. "Remain on alert, you never know what the Terrans will try." She said, flipping a few switches.
Outside, massive engines extended outwards from the Carrier's hull, and powerful thrusters engaged, throwing steam and water up in all directions, lifting the ship up several hundred meters before it accelerated in a deafening crack, accelerating up into the sky, trailing water in a fine cloudy mist.

"My personal opinion would be the avoidance of further death in the short-term and the immediate opening of diplomatic channels!" Aiedail stated into her communicator. "The preservation of Terran lives should be our utmost priority!"

"I don't think diplomacy isn't an option, it hasn't been for a long a time." The NPA operative said firmly, "You may not agree, but I'm sure the Invictus and many others do. We wouldn't be here if we thought the Taiyou could be reasoned with."

"Whilst the likelihood of succeeding diplomatically is slim, it provides the opportunity to adequately evacuate civilians in preparation for a full-scale war!" Aiedail replied, "Preparation time can be bought by delaying, even if diplomacy does fail! Morally we are obligated to at least attempt peace, surely?"
"You're only delaying something that is inevitable, android." Lennox said, "I don't know how long you have to attempt peace, but I'm not waiting around while they come here and do as they please." THe man said.
"Speak to who you need to speak to for peace, I'm preparing for war, I'm preparing to make sure the Taiyou know Terra is my home. From now on, they have to wipe their feet to be welcomed here."
