Introduction
After careful testing they found the environment safe for human habitation. They only found one life form native to the planet which fed on the many forms of plant life. The creatures were skittish and difficult to catch. They seemed harmless so were left alone.
The mission leader Ten Komada announced that since the entire team was stranded, they would build a permanent settlement.
Several years later the first generation was born on โNew Homeโ also called Kolob. The children seemed quieter than normal but one day a parent found her child speaking to one of the native creatures. After careful observation they let the child keep the creature as a pet. They continued to study it as time went on.
The girl Tasha Reynolds continued to talk to the creature for years and it never left her side.
One day a teacher was frustrated that the girl was still talking to her pet at age 15. She asked why Tasha still talked to a creature that couldnโt talk back.
In surprise the girl said, โYou mean you canโt hear her?โ
After a series of tests it was proved that the creature was intelligent and could communicate telepathically. The creatures live off small amounts of spirit energy that mostly came from the planets but after binding to a human they have a mental link to that human. They discovered that the creatures can navigate trans-space. Excited about sending a team back to earth, they hurried to reconfigure their ship. After it was rebuilt they renamed it the โPhoenixโ.
Meanwhile other children also gained companions but were still too young yet for training. Tasha was trained vigorously for her journey and finally left orbit at the age of 18. She is hailed by an asteroid settlement and the people there greet her enthusiastically.
She discovered that they are frantic to escape something they call โThe Protectorateโ. Some time ago artificial intelligence was developed on earth and no one in the colonies knows if the people on earth are dead or slaves to the A.I.โs. Tasha helps them and explains about โNew Home.โ The people are fascinated by her companion โPoโ and are eager to get away from the protectorates swiftly expanding strength. Already some of the other colonies have fallen.
The โWizards and Artificers guildโ has helped the surviving colonies band together and build the โSpace Arkโ Tasha leads the ship back to โNew Home.โ Everyone just hopes that the power of the A.I.โs will not reach them on Kolob.
The colonists are welcomed but the dark news creates fear and uncertainty. The settlers decide to elect a new president and create a galaxy defense force to protect the planet.
So for this rp you have four or five choices for a character. One is a child born on Kolob, also called New Home. You would have a psychic pet and be in the "army" training to travel space.
second- is a person born on the asteroid these people are highly scientific but have also trained their minds so there are many psychics, telekinetics and such.
Third- from Earth either a human, robot, android, cyborg and such.
fourth- an alien from a distant world.
fifth- a magic user from another asteroid in Earths solar system.

"Course inlaid," her navigator declared, herself impressed by the alien's performance.
"Excellent," Marielle nodded.
"All stations report ready for entry," her first officer said.
"Very good. Sergeant, take us in."
"Yes ma'am," her helmsman said. "Initiating deflection burns. We will be entering the upper atmosphere shortly." The space ship shook as its maneuvering thrusters fired and it aligned itself with its new course. There was an even bigger jolt as it hit thicker air. "Entering outer atmospheric layer. Angle of attack at 45 degrees. Adjusting pitch to 20. Deploying flaps and drag fins." The entire structure vibrated as it slowed down. Plasma flickered out the windows, but disappeared as the ship got lower and lower. The horizon seemed to flatten out, and the tiny blue film of sky got thicker and thicker until it surrounded the entire spacecraft. "We've entered the stratosphere. Leveling out." The ship was moving much slower now, even slower than a standard aircraft. Marielle could make out the features of the ground below them ahead through the helmsman's window. "We've leveled out at the standard approach altitude."
"Well done, Sergeant," Marielle smiled. "Number One, prepare the shuttle for departure."
"Yes, ma'am," her first officer said. He unbuckled his belt, saluted Marielle, and scuttled off.
"We should have the final way-point in sight in five minutes," the navigator reported.
"Tactical reports no known sensor locks from potential weapons systems," another astronaut reported.
"Good," Marielle said. "Let's let the aliens have a good long look at us." She craned her neck from her chair, hoping to catch a glimpse of the alien settlement, wondering if it were a collection of wooden shacks or a full scale steel-and-glass metropolis.

Once they were ready to go down in the shuttle Tasha stood. "I will want to pilot my own ship down, so you can follow me down to the landing pad." The landing pad was actually a natural rocky outcropping that they had covered in concrete so that it would not break down with the extreme stress from landings and take offs. There was a tower to guide them in and plenty of room for many large ships almost the size of a 747 to land on it. Though because of their technology they didn't need a runway to take off they did have enough space if they needed one.

"I think we can guide ourselves in," Marielle said. "We..."
Captain, ma'am, thought her first officer. The alien, Tasha, I think, is less concerned with guiding us in than seeing to the security of her aircraft. I think she fears we might try to scan it or disassemble it to steal their secrets.
What secrets? retorted Marielle. Even a first year aerospace engineering student could spot the many flaws and inefficiencies in that design. It's far inferior to anything we've ever had.
Still, just humor her.
"Very well, then," Marielle said aloud to Tasha. "I'll have the astronauts depressurize the fighter bay. I will see you on the ground."
With that, Marielle left the bridge, letting the first officer know he had the bridge. She arrived at the dock for the small personnel shuttle to find another marine honor guard already seated in the passenger area. They clumsily tried to salute her from their seats, but Marielle casually waved them at ease. She entered the cockpit, nodded to the pilot and co-pilot (who were reviewing the computer's preflight checklist), and took her seat behind them on a jump-seat.
It didn't take long to get clearance for launch. Unlike the fighters, the shuttles were attached to the exterior of the ship, tucked in shallow alcoves and held in place with docking clamps. The astronauts sealed the hatches and switched on the jet engines, then throttled them to full power the moment the clamps were released. The shuttle pulled away from the ship and settled into a level flight. They circled out over a range of mountains east(?) of the alien settlement to bleed off altitude as the pilots maneuvered in for their initial approach.

"The aliens are coming to the ground, I think it would be wise for you to meet Tasha when she lands. It might be good for them to know that we aren't the only species able to live here."
Katt nodded and went to meet Tasha's mech, which was starting the landing process.
"Oh and Katt," her friend turned to look at her "Check my mech when you can, it seems to be flying slower for some reason."
Katt nodded, and turned to meet Tasha where she would land her mech.

It would be good for the aliens to see that they had had contact with other species from other planets and that they weren't as primitive as she could tell they thought they were. The aliens had yet to see how amazing the meme-cvs were. She would put her nightshade against anything in the galaxy. Alexis stood next to the Generals and the president herself and her aids were even there waiting in a line to greet the aliens. Tasha exited and saluted as soon as she came close enough and after their return salute took a place next to General Hagen. She glanced at him and he gave her a small nod. He had been her childhood friend and they still talked as often as possible. Though he was tall and lean with a chiseled chin and dashing good looks with soft raven black hair that fell over his forehead and beautiful blue eyes and a great body, she had only ever seen him as a good friend.
She was a career woman through and through and didn't really believe in love. But she caught Alexis' blush when Rafe seemed to glance in her direction. She smiled slightly. She had known for some time that Alexis had a crush on Rafe but their was a six year age gap. Rafe being 26 and Alexis at 20. The shuttle's landing turned her attention back to the task at hand. If this was a trap these aliens would see what they were made of. Until that time though she would keep a sharp eye out and be welcoming and civil to them.

Liz watched the aliens shuttle prepare for landing with a touch of nervousness. She knew the aliens said they were here for peace, and that they seemed to be telling the truth about that. Dawn moved to her shoulder, and Liz pet her for comfort, glad that she didn't have to stand with Tasha and the others. She looked to the line of militia waiting on the aliens, and looked to Katt.
Katt is familiar the technology of the aliens. It is close to that of her own planet.
Liz looked to Dawn, she had asked her pet to keep an eye on Katt's thoughts when they had first met. She had felt nervous about doing so, it felt like spying, but it had come in use when the two first met. Katt sometimes had a way of talking that Liz didn't understand without Dawn's help.
"That's a good sign right?"
I'm not sure, she seems to think it's from a different star system as well.
Liz frowned and looked back to the shuttle that was landing, she hoped that everything would go well.

"Landing gear down and locked," reported the co-pilot. "Five hundred. Two-fifty. One hundred."
"Try for a vertical landing instead," Marielle suggested. She'd observed the alien fighter making one as it touched down.
"Hold on, and let me reset the computer," the pilot said. A few seconds later, he pulled out of the descent and flew in low over the runway(?) and over the crowd of aliens gathering to watch the shuttle land. Its engines revved up, no doubt startling the aliens below with their roar. Marielle felt the shuttle climb slightly, then bank around in a sweeping turn. Both she and the co-pilot cast the pilot a funny look, and cocked their ears in reproach. "Oops. Missed approach."
The shuttle came in again, then slowed to a stop as it swiveled thrust vents perpendicular to the ground. It gently settled to the ground.
"Touch down."
"Well done," Marielle smiled, and patted the two crewmen on the backs. She returned to the passenger compartment to find the marines were getting themselves situated by removing their rifles from the storage racks. The sergeant in charge of this particular squad, however, was fumbling with the toggle switch for her energy crystal pack.
Liffannia, what are you doing with your rifle?
Making sure it's locked and charged, the sergeant thought in reply. In case these worms want to play games. You never know with animals. Even the most harmless ones can still bite your fingers off.
Just make sure you keep the safety on, and don't point it at an alien, Marielle warned. They won't bite, if we don't provoke them, got it?
Yes ma'am.
With that straightened out, Marielle hit the button on the wall of the passenger compartment to open the door and deploy the air stair. Then she inspected each marine as he or she filed out and formed an honor guard outside. Each marine stood up straight and proud, with their long, pointed ears pricked up in alertness. Then Marielle herself disembarked, pausing only to adjust her sword to make herself appear more regal. She blinked in the bright sunlight outside, but her eyes quickly adjusted. As she descended the air stair, her eyes scanned the crowd of aliens, picking out Tasha, and separating the females from the males, and the elders from the youths from the juveniles.

The pirate grinned as he stood in his mucky ship bridge staring out at large transport ship that was travelling past Mars. "Sir! Can we attack them now!" Grunted one of the crew members who had obviously had there nose broken a number of times and had a cybernetic implant in his right eye.
"Yeah lad sound the attack..." The captain nodded with agreement and began to chuckle as the crew member turned round to the oil stained controls and began to issue orders. The orders were to board with small arms fire the cargo was not to be damaged. "This is our easiest run yet." The captain grumbled before falling backwards and sitting on his large captains chair staring out of the bridge window at the transport ship. The captain then began to mumble on about pirate matters and what kind of loot they found on board before he was interrupted by the another crew member behind him.
"Sir... We have another ship on radar it came out of no where!" the pirate said as he began to panic and hammer at the controls trying to get more information. A white blur shot past the bridge window and off into the distance leaving the pirate ship behind. "...Its leaving..." the pirate said joyfully leaving the captain to return to his rant about piracy.
On the outside of the ship...
Phobos dug his blades into the piracy ship and began to claw his way onto the top of it. His giro's spun quietly and his pistons eased as the machine slowed down and stopped in front of a large window with three people staring at him from the inside.
Back on the bridge...
The captain stopped talking and the two other crew members paused what they were doing when they saw the machine clutching onto the front of the ship. "Seal the blast window!" The captain screamed causing the two other pirates to begin hammering at the controls. "Put me onto the rest of the crew" the captain ordered. A loud bing told him the loud speaker was on and that everyone on the ship could hear him even the machine. "Crew we are under attack from some kind of machine bastard! I want all of you up to the bridge bring your weaponry your gona need it!" The loud speaker switched off and the noise of elevators and the clanging of footsteps could be heard as the crew made there way towards the bridge. The sound of glass shattering shocked the captain and he looked up to see the metal blast window closing far too late.
Phobos saw the metal window cover begin to lower and rushed towards the glass throwing his metal body through it and into the ships bridge. The shield slammed down behind him and the he rolled across the solid floor or the bridge sliding a blade off his back and impaling the first pirate in the room. The captain was frozen out of fear and the other pirate trembled and fell to the floor. The robot pulled the blade out of the man letting his heavy corpse drop the the floor. He then charged the captain flicking the blade back on this back and diving onto the captain gripping his head with his metal hands and crushing his skull with no mercy. The last pirate in the room began to shake and pulled himself underneath the control panel. Phobos stood up and faced the door the rest of the pirates were coming from. The two small blades slid out from his arms.
The door slid open and the pirates came in slowly scanning the room for any kind of life. The whimpering of the lone survivor could be heard and the first pirate in the room took one look at him and said "Bloody hell mate get up off the floor and grab a g..." The man was cut short as the machine dropped from the ceiling a crushed the man's chest.
Back on Phobos's spaceship...
The A.I began to flick through Mp3 files in search of a song to blast from Phobos to disorientate the enemy. Eventually it came to a stop and rested on a song that it quickly transmitted to the machine.
Back on the pirate ship...
Phobos began to cut his way through the enemy weaving a thin ribbon of blood from man to man. The bullets they fired bounced off his armour and into other pirates. The machine began to project a loud song as it cut its way through the pirates. "I feel pretty, Oh so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and gay" One of the pirates screamed as the machine swung its leg and smashed his skull against the wall shattering it instantly. The combat in the corridor ceased for a moment before the next wave ran around the corner and towards him wielding shock blades. "And I pity, Any girl who isn't me today, I feel charming, Oh so charming" The blades clashed against one another but yet Phobos showed no signs of relenting. the machines blades simply parried each one of the blows before sending a devastating attack the neck or head, leaving a bloody mist behind him. Machine gun fire began to pummel Phobos and it dropped to one knee as the bullets began to force him back slowly. The giro's began to spin rapidly and the sound of pistons grew louder. Destruction mode initiated flashed across the robots on board computer and forced it into overdrive. "It's alarming how charming I feel, And so pretty, That I hardly can believe I'm real" Phobos sprinted towards the pirates his small arm blades slideing away and reaching up for his own two shock swords. The noise of metal sliceing through flesh echoed down the corridors accompanied with the music and the screams of the pirates. After a long time of combat and strangely happily music accompanied with scream later Phobos walked back towards the ships bridge. Oil leaked from the machines left arm and a large slice had fried one of his cooling vents. The song still played because the machine still remembered one last pirate on board the ship.
The pirate sat trembling underneath the controls he could hear the loud heavy metal footsteps and the music growing ever louder. "She thinks she's in love, She thinks she's in Spain, She isn't in love, She's merely insane" The song stopped after the word insane and so did the heavy footsteps. All that could be heard was the pirate crying quietly before even that was silenced by a blade sliding across his throat.
Phobos walked to the control panel and set the blast shield to open and allowed himself to be pulled out by the vacuum and into space. The machine drifted for a while before the white ship glided alongside him and opened up a small hatch allowing the machine to enter and repair itself so it would be ready for its next mission.

"It still isn't responding General Hammond." A pretty officer turned with her headset on and reported to the general.
He was not a tall man and his bald head shone under the flourescent lights. He was a hard military man bulky but mostly muscle, though at his age it was starting to go flabby in the stomach area. He didn't get much opportunity for physical activity now that he was a general. You had to make the hard decisions and those often came from behind a desk and not on the bridge of a ship. He did miss the excitement of being out there but someone had to be in charge. He looked at the veiwscreen which showed the stars over mars and vaguely you could see the drones' ship flitting in the distance. It was clearer on the radar a small blip on the screen. The drone had become a problem. No longer following their orders but doing whatever it darn well pleased. At least it still attacked pirates but it would be nice to arrest them and gain info on what connections they had and also gain whatever booty they might have had still on the ship. And dang it, the Martian government weren't murderers. This was a democracy not a dictatorship.

Well, this is what you're here for, she thought to herself. Keeping herself composed and in her most curt, military-style voice, Marielle addressed the aliens.
"I humbly accept your welcome in the name of God, and Her most valued servant, her Imperial Majesty, the Empress of Yiffieria Prime. We come in the name of exploration and science, to learn more of your species, your culture, and your world. We are not here to wage war. We come in peace."

Liz watched as the aliens came off the ship with some worry. She was mostly watching Katt, noticing that her friend was acting different than normal.
These aliens are making her think of her home. She is very sad right now.
Liz almost jumped, she had forgot that Dawn could pick up on her own thoughts. So Katt was sad, that explained why she seemed different. She saw Katt shift her weight, and looked to Dawn.
"Her leg?"
It's been hurting more than it normally does lately. She is most worried about it.
Liz looked back to her friend. "I'm worried about it too, I thought maybe that I was imagining things when I noticed her limp was worse." Dawn said nothing to this, she rubbed against Liz's neck. Liz raised her had and petted Dawn, knowing that her furry friend was trying to make her feel better.

Once all the formalities were done the general gave the others a nod and they could slide out of the line and go up to some of the aliens.
Po had mentioned to Tasha that Katt seemed to have a recollection of the Yifferians. Intrigued Tasha moved toward Katt to find out what she might now in more depth. "I don't want to take you away cause your presence is good for this gathering but Po tells me you might know something about these aliens. Anything you could tell me would be helpful. I don't trust them.
Alexis' Jewel had also noticed Katt's knowledge but since Tasha was taking care of it she didn't want to interfere. She just watched the aliens carefully and continued with jewel to try and read their thoughts and find out more about their true goals.

Scanning the crowd, her eyes caught sight of an alien, different from all the rest, that seemed to have animal paws in place of feet, animal ears, and a tail. She couldn't help but cock her ears in curiosity. What's one of her kind doing here? thought Marielle to herself. She gave the alien a funny look.

"I heard of them once before from my old ruler." she looked back to the lead alien, who seemed to be looking at her funny. "I can't seem to remember what we were talking about at the time....my memories are stuck on the bad."
She frowned thinking again. "Maybe it was something bad that we were talking about....or at least my ruler viewed it as bad." Then her mind settled on the right memory, and her ears perked up a little.
"Yea, that was it....my ruler mentioned a race that was going from planet to planet. They would claim peace, and would convince the planet's to sign a treaty with them. However, once you signed the treaty, they viewed you as subjects to their top ruler...which I'm guessing is this 'Imperial Majesty, the Empress of Yifferia Prime'." she looked back to Tasha the lead aliens look making her feel uncomfortable. "At least that's how my ruler worded it. She may have twisted the truth, around that same time she was trying to pass a law that would make it to where our planet would no longer have anything to do with other planet's." her ears lowered again, despite everything she missed talking to her old ruler "We had little dealings to do with other planet's to begin with, the last ruler had passed a law to start trade with other planets not even five years before she died." her ears lowered more, the death of that ruler had been hard on her.
"That had been my idea, I had been surprised when she passed it.....and then when my si- uh the new ruler wanted to over ride it, I debated against it." she lowered her gaze, she had almost let slip something more dear to her heart than anything else "I was sent away for my troubles." Katt looked away, but kept her gaze to the ground, she didn't want to look at the lead alien anymore. She cursed herself for almost saying what her relation to the current ruler of her planet was. Then she remembered the promise she had made to the ruler who had died, and cursed herself again.
I'm sorry mother, I couldn't keep that promise.....sister changed somehow when she took over, and there was nothing I could do about it.
Then she realized she had babbled, and felt shame. "Sorry, you probably only wanted to hear about the Yifferians. I ended up going on about laws and rulers."

Don't worry, Katt can take care of herself. she looked sideways to Dawn. Her furry friend was right, Katt seemed to know exactly how to handle herself in this kind of situation. That surprised Liz more than the alien coming to talk with Katt had.

That was until some time ago when new entities were thrown into the mix. they had started out small, like little whispers that he could occasionally hear in the background. Then they started to get louder, like an annoying buzzing. The new sensations mixed with the old ones and caused his 'dreams' to suddenly become more sporadic. This caused his sleep to become restless as the stimuli agitated his Nelaka. Now, another batch of unknown impulses had just been added, and they made the neurons in his brian to get up and dance, literally.
Finally he could take the spontaneous images no more, and his mind was slowly forced awake and out of the numbing effects of the stasis chamber. Slowly and groggily, Shar-khag placed his hand against the capsules control systems. From his wrist the worm like Nelaka in his nerves slivered out and into the control pad. A few quick sparks neural electricity from the parasites into the circuits and the energy field dissipated, allowing to move and think more clearly. He stretched for a moment, trying to relieve the stiffness that had set into his limbs, before moving to push the hatch open. He crawled out of the stasis module gradually. His mind was still drowsy and he was still trying to stretch his limbs out.
When he finally got his bearings he had to blink, twice. He stood on a branch hundreds of feet off the ground. In front and all around him lay a huge forest. This was not what caused him to be surprised. What cause him to be surprise was, last he checked, his capsule had been placed on the ground, in a barren field. Not up and wedged in the trunk of a gigantic tree. In order for all of this plant life to have grown here, he would have had to have been in stasis for a very long, long time. How long have I been out?
He made a low whistling sound, his kind's equivalent to a sigh, and lowered himself till all six of his limbs where pressed against the trees trunk. His claws slide out and dug into the bark and he began his climb down. He needed to find the distress beacon he had set up and see if it was still in working order. That and maybe find out what was interfering with his sleep.
Today was going to be a long day.

She moved almost like mist over the hills and then into the forest. Coming closer and closer to the strange presence she had felt.
About then Po finally managed to tell Tasha but Tasha was too worried about the alien leader to go after Alexis. She sent a message back telling her to be careful. Alexis didn't answer back but Tasha got a sense that at least Jewel had heard her and would keep Alexis safe.

[edit] trying to work in the Pluto dictator, he'll come up a few times with Tiraninot later. I was thinking of making him a younger political leader, maybe a bit more flamboyant in personality. And I might get around to giving details about the other four admirals of Pluto later.

Another had I had kicking around was for Jupiter.
Jupiter would be a religious state, similar in design to the Vatican. It would be the head of some new 'space religion' centered around the 'souls of the planets' that we might base of roman mythology (or like a rebirth of it). Jupiter would have it's own standing army, but it would be more of a protective measure.
To make it more interesting we might make this place the center of the new united nations.
Re: [OOC] Space Odessey
So for Mars I was thinking that it would be a democratic republic with a council of senators as the height of the gov and a few officers elected into their offices by said council. Mars would probably have a larger emphasis on its ground troops then most other planets, due to the fact that it's atmosphere would be more stable then most other planets. Since Mars would have been the easist planet to settle it might have more planet side cities then other worlds, making it more of an urban world. Also it would have access to better farming ground with it's ecosystem (Other worlds would grow there food artificially in designated produce stations.) That would make Mars major export food, because it is the largest producer of natural foods (Ever since earth went dark at least). With all the advantages of being the most earth-like planet in the system It would stand that Mars would also have considerable militaristic, economic, and political power.

so yeah, missed place posting (Why do we have two if we aren't going back to kolob anytime soon?) I think that maybe I can get around that by copying my post and ash's and putting them with my response we can work around that.
