It all happened so fast. Yet, all she could expect when the sword came to her throat was anger and outrage.

‘I didn’t mean to hesitate. I won’t do it again. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Please, don’t scar me.’

Her fears faded as the sword left from her throat and the Princess bowed to the crowd. She blinked a bit before throwing on that smile once more and reaching down for her sword, sheathing it. Alexis met the Princess’s eyes before bowing slightly. “Alexis Conall, Prince Leo. I’ve been traveling around the kingdoms in search of training outside of the Aries kingdom. I did not mean to intrude upon your street. I was actually looking for a training center, not a fight.”

Princess Zari Leo

Zari laughed. "A training center? This whole Kingdom is a training centre. Everyone in here dedicate their life to fighting." Zari smiled to her as she placed her claymore on her back. "But if you want to find a place to practice we have large training grounds on the palace. Sword fighting, bow, hand to hand. Anything you can think of can be trained there. But the best way to train yourself is to challenge others. Smashing targets can't be compared to a real fight." Zari was sure the Arian knew it already but her instinct told her that woman would do something great one day and that's why she should be polite and help her. She didn't know where that instinct came from but it was another lesson from her father. "Always trust your instincts, the are rarely wrong."

The ringmaster walked to them offering a jar of water both of them bowing to Zari. Zari nodded as a thank and took a long sip. "I can also offer you a place for night or a meal. Think it as a reward for a good fight. And I'm sure with a little polishing you'll be able to reach what you are aiming for."

XXXXGhost? Are there such rumors spreading about it within the palace? It was a pointless one at that. She also considered the aptitude of the boy before her. Did she resembled that of an undead entity? It is a given that she does wear white at the moment, but ghosts do not tend to tell anyone to leave. They prefer to terrorize them until they wanted to. He even added a question about eating or killing him. It seemed that it would be useless conversing with this person, but he was probably royalty and she could not rudely dismiss the boy, alas she wanted a national incident, which she does not.

It was a good thing that the boy seemed to have regained his proper sense and concluded she was not a ghost from the beginning. This lead for him to close the rather large space between them. He was examining her as if she was an object that he had never seen. That was not an absurd idea since, she had been isolated and hidden from the world until the coronation, but she was not an odd species to be looked in the way he does. Still, her face remained pristine and unabashed by any emotions. It was not the same with him as he soon broke into a bright smile and offering his hand for a gesture she had concluded as a handshake.

She looked at the hand and then back at him, in what could be described as gracefully stiff. "I am well aware of where I am and what is happening in the Dominion far more than you do, apparently." She stated in an eloquent manner which gave her a mature demeanor even when she was a child like him. She walked passed him and did not shake his hand, instead she went towards the door which opened automatically. "You should take your leave now. I would excuse your ignorance of this place, in light of the festival." She stated with her back facing him as she stood before the opened doors, but did not take another step.

"Return to your friends at once, Eugene." This time she finally looked at him by turning around. "If the guards or council sees you, this would not simply end as a mere scolding. I do not want to mar the festive mood with something like this." She stated in a manner that depicted that she was not a simple individual and apparently held a position within the Dominion, than a simple noble.

Alexis accepted the jar offered, taking a quick sip before letting it hang to her side. It seemed she had not been too exhausted from the fights, just extremely bored. "I do appreciate the offer and would be happy to take up on your offer. It's been a while since I've slept in a bed so that would be good." Moving to the side, Alexis picked up the lone but large bag that had been laying there. Worn, the bag seemed to have gone through months on the road. It seemed far past retirement.

Slinging it onto her back, she looked to the Princess once more. "Your fighting skills are phenomenal, Princess Leo. It must be from much training. I personally prefer training on my own before training with partner. After all, there are no repercussions for cutting up a wood post." She tipped her head back, finishing up the rest of the water before handing the empty jar to the ringmaster. "Thank you for judging the matches today."

Princess Zari Leo

"No repercussions but not real life experience either." Zari laughed friendly. She preferred to train against another person instead of wooden dolls but everyone had their own style. It was important to find a training method best for them. "And since you asked, I was five when I got a real sword instead of some clumsy wooden sword." she added as she waved Cayden to her.

"Cayden, show this miss a way to the barracks and arrange her an own room. We want to let our quest to sleep in peace instead of having to listen brawling men." Zari smirked and some nearby Leos looked embarrassed. Zari knew well enough the soldiers liked to drink and fight even more after being drunk enough. She turned back to Alexis. "The dinner in barracks is from four to six. Cayden will show you the way to dining hall and practice rooms as well. Eat as much as you want. It's all on me." Zari gave a friendly smile - something you didn't see often. But this Arian had lighten not only her own but Zari's fighting spirit as well.

"I wish best of luck to your journey miss Conall. Remember never underestimate your opponent."

He raised an eyebrow slightly. That was quite odd. He then nodded as he heard the captain speaking. "Thank you." He said as he left his things and picked up the small sack before making his way inside. He looked around slightly wondering what was on the mind of the little ones he was meant to watch. He sighed slightly while rubbing his chin.

"Hm... Knowing those two, Zari will probably be the hardest nut to crack..." He mumbled slightly before continuing his way to the practice rooms. He hummed lightly before finally finding his way into the room. He looked around slightly taking in the memories. It had been quite awhile since he stepped foot in here. He smiled hearing the sound of arrow after arrow hitting targets. Yep, Zari was here for sure. He made his way behind her observing as she took each shot. Something was the matter he could tell.

"Ahh quite the eye you have. Your getting stronger and stronger each day Zari." He said as he placed a hand on her head.

Eugene paused as she walked past him avoiding his handshake. He shrugged slightly and smiled deciding not to think much of it. Maybe she was shy? He hadn't seen her before so maybe she didn't have too many friends. Well with her "kindness" he was positive she didn't have any friends. He folded his arms behind his back and whistled lightly ignoring her words and instruction to leave. Instead, he began to walk and look around taking note of the strange place the girl stayed in. Nothing but books. Was this some sort of torture chamber or something?

"Woah! So all you ever so is read? Don't you have any toys or trinkets?" He asked while picking up one of the books.

He read the title immediately loosing interest. He shrugged and placed the book down before looking around the piles upon piles of printed knowledge. There had to be a story book or fairytale somewhere in this place, right?

"Hey hey! Where do you keep the story books! Like Captain Roger's! Have you read that one? It's pretty good ya know. I won't spoil it for ya but you gotta check it out! Oh! Or Detective Liming and The Mystery of The Disappearing Hatrack! That one's pretty funny. The illustrations are cool to! Boy I wish I knew how to draw like that."

He continued on with his ramblings as he looked through the books. Nothing at all caught his interest.

"Hey... Have you read ALL of these books?" He said while blinking blankly.

Zari Leo

Ignoring his hand on her hear Zari aimed one final arrow hitting on bullseye. "This is nothing. I need a longer practice room." She said bluntly without even greeting him. Cayden looked shocked. "Miss Leo, please have some manners." "What? It's true. This room is way too short for training." She said as walking to the other end of 50 meters long room starting to remove the arrows from targets. Shaking his head Cayden left, leaving the two of them alone. Zari stayed quiet pulling the arrows putting them into a quiver on her back. She was frustrated that she had to stop her practices. She had to practice more to win her brother.

After a long time of silence Zari turned towards Eugene. "And you are here because?" She asked sharply, almost hostility. She didn't care she was talking to a King. She didn't care anything expect training right now. Her manners were far from those her father had taught to her. Compared to that she was having manners of barbarian. She even looked like one. He hair and clothes was messy and in dust like she hadn't changed or showered in days. Her eyes were red from forcing herself staying awake at nights. There was even table of food brought in the room that was almost untouched. It hadn't been a joke. Zari was living in the room.

He smiled slightly as he heard her speaking. He then turned to Cayden and laughed a bit. "No no it's fine." He said before watching Cayden leave. He stretched slightly before removing his coat and placing it to the side. He then began to fold back his sleeves and picking up another bow off to the side. He smiled innocently.

"What me? Well, I'm just here to keep you company. Don't mind me."

Unfortunately, he hadn't used a bow any day of his life. He recalled playing with toy weapons with Aldrich as a child. He was more of a striking weapon kind of guy. He took a deep breathe and pulled back the arrow only to drop it. Yep, he was not skilled at this what so ever. He continued his cycle of picking up the arrow and dropping it immediately before finally getting it to fly. Well, it didn't go that far. Only a few inches. He smiled and laughed a bit.

"My my. You and Aldrich sure do make it look easy. I could never stand a chance against such bowmen masters." He said before attempting to try again. "Have you been grieving child?"

Zari watched him as Eugene tried to use a bow. He was truly terrible at it. She let out a little chuckle seeing his attempts. "Your arm is in completely wrong position."

As he got more serious Zari looked away from him. "I don't have time for something like that. The battle will be held in few weeks." She spoke bluntly again. She was going to participate even if there was never been a female Princess in the long history of Leos. Probably there wasn't even been female contestants. But Zari had already made her mind and nothing could stop her. Not even the King himself.

She smiled at her, eyes bright. "Thank you once more, Princess Leo. I hope to see you again sometime. And another sparring match would be welcomed as well." Alexis gave a small wave, turning to follow Cayden. A good rest sounded pleasant after all this fighting.

"I'm booooooored," Alexis groaned, splayed out on her bed. She was restless. The last fight so good it got her blood pumping for more. But she knew very well she shouldn't push herself to do more. Sighing, Alexis hopped off the bed and left the room in search of entertainment.

"Hmm.. Oh seems like your right. Am I suppose to hold it this way then?"

He said with a small smile before turning the bow completely upside down. He then looked over to her slightly as he picked up a arrow and accidentally shot it into the ceiling.

"Ah so close."

Well, he was no where near close really. But as long as it made her smile, he didn't mind seeming like a complete idiot. He looked to her and smiled.

"Battle? Ahhh sounds intense. But I'm more than sure you aren't afraid. You are a strong girl." He said with a smile. "Though a Princess of Leos hasn't been heard of. You bare a strong will. I can tell."

He said before laughing a bit.

"A strong will and a strong heart make the perfect leader." He then smiled happily. " You remind me of Aldrich so much, it's almost as if I'm looking at him again." He lifted his head slightly looking to the arrow that was firmly in the ceiling of the practice room. "Tell me Zari, how strong is your will to rule?"

Zari Leo

Zari couldn't help but smile when he turned his bow upside down. She had locked herself in the room and kept practicing hour after hour and day after day not wanting to see anyone. But now his company was making her more relaxed. Or maybe it were just his silly attempts to try and cheer her up. Well at least it was working.

Zari walked to the table at the side of the room and grabbed an apple biting in it. "No, I'm not afraid of the fight itself. I'm afraid I lose to Griffen." She said. "Everyone expects him to be the next leader since he's the son of Prince. Even if I'm older of two of us." She sound bitter which was true. She felt everyone were completely ignoring her.

"Tell me Zari, how strong is your will to rule?" he asked and Zari looked at the King. How strong it was? She had been working her ass of to train more and more sleeping only the bare minimum. But it was more to beat her brother instead of to become a ruler. However she was determined enough to win a battle that would make her a ruler. Zari took another bite from the apple thinking about it. Finally she looked at him straight in the eyes.

Prince Aurelius Titus Scorpio XII

Artos held his tongue as she told her story, occasionally bringing the glass with the dark amber liquid to his lips to take a small sip. As someone used to reading, and listening to, extremely detailed reports; he instantly noted the severe lack of details in her story. The world was in the small details, and his family position relied on those small details. The ones seemingly missed by most or thought of as irrelevant, but he couldn't fault her on not telling him every detail.

"Well, the storyteller lacked the necessary dramatics," Artos said, "But it has all the necessary ingredients for a great tale. A mighty warrior, loss, a great for, travels through distant lands," he said pausing, "And a much more interesting story compared to a simple changing of the names."

She hadn't spoken of what she did on the travels, only touching upon a few things incredibly briefly which perked his curiosity, but he did not ask just yet as he had another question that had snapped his attention up, although he was amused they both knew the Princess of Leo in some manner or fashion, "Your brother, what happened to him?"

He smiled watching her eat and speak. He couldn't help but laugh a bit. It felt like just yesterday he had visited the two as young children and now they were so grown up and ready to do as they wished with their lives. It was simply amazing. Eugene walked over and sat down giving a small laugh.

"I better stop playing with this thing before I end up losing an eye."

He then motioned her over to him.

"Ah not even Aldrich huh? You truly have a flame of passion you have there."

He then paused slightly hearing how everyone expected her brother to take rule. It was true, female rulers in this kingdom were not admitted or looked upon. Skill and survival was key and most woman did not wish to be a part of that. But he could tell that something was didn't about Zari. She had trained for so long getting stronger with only the hopes of ruling in her mind and it seemed that she was even winning Eugene over.

"Come'er. How about I tell you a story."

He said while siting back and letting out a small sigh. "Ohh this one's good too. This takes back way when me and your father were children. Quite the scandals we were." He said while smirking slightly. "Well we were two halves of a whole idiot!" He laughed a bit. "Well one day he and I decided to go and play with some other children. Back then we were all fond of playing with toy weapons. Well, there was a group of boy around our age who were playing with weapons and we wanted to join to. So we ran off and got our gear before running back. However, there was one more person who had showed up. It was a little girl. Daughter of a blacksmith actually. She had asked if she could play with the group but they all said no. So do you know what that little girl did?"

Zari Leo

Zari sat down next to him and then laid back watching the ceiling. She was surprised Eugene wasn't preventing her from doing it straight away. Maybe it meant he had faith in her. It made Zari smile a little. If the King was on her side, she would want to prove herself even more. To him, to her late father, to every Leo but more importantly to herself.

Zari nodded as he asked, if she'd like to hear a story. She had always enjoyed listening them. Zari close her eyes, letting herself to relax as she listened to his voice. It was somehow shooting and filled with gentleness. It was a story about him and Aldrich which made Zari feel slightly sad knowing he wasn't here anymore but she kept herself calm, not wanting to bursts in tears right now.

"So do you know what that little girl did?" he asked and Zari opened her eyes looking at him next to her. "Kicked your ass?" she said smirking.

Despite the darkness of the sentence, Alexis's eyes failed to show any emotion on the topic. Her eyes did not tear, the corners of her eyes did not cringe. Her facial features did not change. She could have been telling Scorpio what the time of day was.

He smiled and laughed a bit.

"She came back the next day when we were all playing again. However, this time we didn't know it was her. She dressed in men's clothing and a scarf hiding her identity to us all. She challenge the very boy that told her no to a sword fight and beat him into the dust. Soon she challenged another and another and another until the rest of us began to back off. We all wanted to know who this guy was and finally we got our answer."

He said while picking up the bag he had brought.

"She laughed triumphantly knowing that even as a girl, she had beat all of us. Do you know why Zari? Because it's not what's on the outside that determines if your a warrior or not. It's the inside."

He then opened the bag and smiled.

"I almost forgot. I have something special for you. Close your eyes and hold our your hands."

Zari was chuckling at the story. It sounded something like she could do as well. "You should tell that story to every Leo after I'm crowned." she joked smiling starting be more of her old self. His story was giving even more faith to her. A good fighter wasn't determined by gender. The fighting spirit you had inside you was most important. "You know, I'm glad you believe in me. You remind me of my father. He taught me about ruling and fighting just as much as to Griffen. He believed in me too" she said her voice shattering as she was fighting against her tears. "Not now, I have time to cry later", she told herself in her mind.

As Eugene opened his bag, Zari sat up surprised. "A gift?" She wasn't expecting him to bring anything. She did as he asked and closed her eyes holding out her hands. She had no idea what he was going to give to her.

He smirked and nodded. "Alright fine. I'll tell that story to as many as you want. But I'm sure we can discuss it. Once you are crowned."

He said before sighing slightly. He nodded knowing that Aldrich was surely smiling on this day. He reached into the bag and let out a small sigh.

"I agreed to give this to you when you were truly a adult. Aldrich and I shaked on it. But somehow, you've grown far faster than I, or even he, could have expected."

He then took out a welly wrapped bow various names as well as Aldrich's neatly written on it in gold. He placed it in her hands and smiled slightly.

"He told me that this had been passed down for so many years and that he knew he wouldn't be able to give it to you. So he told me to do it instead. He knew how strong you were and I'm sure he still knows that. And once your crowned, we'll get your name written on it as well. Right below his". He smirked slightly.

Zari Leo

As soon as Zari opened her eyes and saw the bow and heard the story behind it, tears filled her eyes. The bow was most beautiful she had ever seen. She hold it gently running her finger along the string and her father's name. She felt Eugene's hand on hers and a tear fell on his hand. She was speechless, her feelings just filling her. She wanted to say something to him, at least to thank him but the words were stuck in her mind as she couldn't stop the tears. All the feelings she had been suppressed for the last days were now taking control.

She stayed like that, not wanting to let go of the bow nor wanting him to leave. "I miss him so much..." she whispered quietly and suddenly just hugged Eugene. Doing it surprised even herself but she truly just wanted to someone hold her close. In public and front of the Captains she had to act strong knowing they wouldn't respect her if she showed her weakness even the slightest. But Eugene was different. Even if he was a King and Zari should have acted with more respect towards him he had been the one triggering Zari's softer side out. She was just wrapping her arms tightly around him still holding the bow in her another hand looking for comfort. She pressed her head against his shoulder. "Thank you" she whispered even quieter as she stayed there.

He paused seeing the tears coming from her eyes. He was right. She had been grieving and she had held it in for so long that something as simple as a meaningful gift made her cry. He wrapped his arms around the small girl and patted her head.

"I miss him too. But you must be strong for him and for your people. He loved you his family more than anything and wanted nothing but the best for you all."

He then smiled.

"No need to thank me Zari. You should know by now that I'll always be here to keep an eye out." He said giving a small wink. "Now then! XXXXThis boy was the pinnacle of admonishment. She wondered if he was not properly tutored or groomed. He lacked decency and even common sense from the looks of it. All he speaks are meaningless context and even went as far as to criticize. Is it possible that she had made a wrong conclusion as him hailing from one of the royal families? If that was the case the palace's security must be put into question and be restructured due to allowing any manner of people entering, especially within the inner sanctum where this Chamber is located that even the Queen herself is forbidden to enter anymore.

"Do not say I did not warn you." She ignored his existence like how he ignores her words as she believed that his idiocy might be contagious. It was the same with his questions that she does not see any benefit in answering. She instead walked towards a small floating globe on a nearby pedestal. Her hand placed on top of it as it glowed and after a while a voice permitted through the foyer. "My princess is there something that I may be of service to you?" This was communication device that allows her to be linked to her designated servants, guards, and the council if required.

"There is an intruder present, a boy named Eugene inside the Chamber." Her words were like electricity as it elicited "What!? That's never been heard of! How could that be!? I shall send the guards immediately, princess! Until then, please ceased any further interactions." She was well-aware of what she must do at this point, but before ending the communication, she made a valid point that should be addressed that this event shall not happen again. "I shall do what is must, however, I suggest that the guards that should be here guarding the Chamber, be prompted with proper punishment for lax in their duties. That is unbecoming."

"Of course, princess at once." She then ended the conversation from that point as she removed her hand and walked passed Eugene. Her face did not change from its indifferent expression. There was another door at the end of the hallway where she walked towards. The door opened at her proximity. There were also quite an amount of hurrying footsteps nearing the main entrance. "A reminder if you are a prince. That carefree persona of yours will bring people harm rather than good. Not all will share your whims and just because you smile, it does not mean anyone else would."

She ended it at that and entered the opened doors before her as it instantly closed behind her. Even at the end, she did not mention her name or even showed any form emotion towards Eugene. She believed that it would be their last meeting, but fate had it. that was not so. The guards had also entered the Chamber and found the boy completely in a panic and disbelief of his presence here. "Hey! Identify yourself!"

Eugene paused hearing her communicating with a strange globe. He sighed and rubbed his neck slightly. "Sheesh." He said before sighing. He then smiled wildly as he listened to her mentions of him being a prince and that he should do this and that and what not. "Hmph.

He may not have known much about her but it was obvious that she didn't know much about him. He quickly moved his way behind a gathering of books beginning to develop a plan to get out of this with as little yelling from his parents as possible. He smirked slightly listening to the voice of the guards. There were less numbers than he believed there would be. From the looks of it 2 or 3. No sweat at all. He began to observe his surroundings gasped looking towards the larger books placed above the shelves.

"Perfect. If I can get those to fall and knock them out, I can drag them outside and make them think they dreamed it all or something. Ohhh Eugene your a genius!"

He truly had his father to thank for his plan thinking. He quickly moved behind the shelf and rammed against it causing the large piles of books to fall and leaving his opponents unconscious. He laughed and high five'd himself before looking around.

"Hm... Why she really must not like people... Or maybe it's just me? I don't know. Girls are weird."

He said before nudging her guards with his foot.

"Even her goons are weird..."

He then smiled and walked to the desk in the chamber. A friendly parting before he left would maybe clear the air. He opened his bag and took out his favorite book before opening it and beginning to write.

"Rough start huh? Hehe! Maybe we can try again another time.

I paid attention to what you told me and I want you to know that I could never bring anyone harm. People should be able to live happily and smile and laugh together. Keeping them all wrapped around your finger isn't nice ya know. That's pure dictatorship. Maybe when were super old we can talk about it. But in the mean time, here's my favorite book! You can add it to your collection."

He smiled as he doodled a picture of him on it.

"P.S. Here's some cake. Maybe it will make you smile and happy? I'm sure your smile is really pretty!"

He took out the sweet from his bag and placed it on the table before huffing and letting out a sigh. "Ok!" He said before quickly running out of the chamber.
