Setting
"If one of us could get to the sniper!" Lo-Muna yelled out as she dodged another swing of the Tengu's sword. He was fast and Lo-Muna was in a cramped space, trying not to get in the way of the others.
"Hahaha! You stupid rabbit!" The thin, katana wielding tengu laughed as he flapped his wings and slashed wildly at the beastman below him. Suddenly, the tengu paused, noticing Xanth crawl up the side of the cavern. He blinked, not sure what creature he was seeing. "The hell is that?!" The tengu thought aloud. Suddenly Lo-Muna shot back, sending a slash of her chakram in the air. "Ohta!" The tengu screamed back at the sniper as he deflected Lo-Muna's blow. "On the wall, you moron!"
The sniper opened his eyes wide, noticing the shadowy form of Xanth crawling. With a grunt he shifted aim, his bow moving up and firing at her form. With the battlefield momentarily clear of the sniper Yuwen ran forward, leaping and stabbing into the massive club-wielding Tengu's back. "Suiken!" Yuwen said as his blade impaled the Tengu. "Suiken, I got him!" The massive Tengu turned, Yuwen's blade still impaled in his left trapezius muscle, and reached down. He grabbed Yuwen by the arm and began to lift him in the air. "Suiken!" Yuwen screamed. "I didn't get him!"
"Does that help?"
Down the tunnel the archer grunted, for the first time raising as the figure he'd shot at scurried forward like a rat in the darkness. He took aim, locking onto his target as she ran. He pulled the drawstring of bow back, ready to fire...
Suiken struck his foe head-on. The massive Tengu was pushed off balance, dropping Yuwen and Shuin both, before collapsing sideways and landing atop Namari- crushing her beneath his girth. Yuwen landed on his feet, catching Shuin in his arms a moment later. The two men looked at each other and after an awkward moment Yuwen dropped Shuin to the earth.
The katana wielding Tengu was knocked back by Lo-Muna. He smashed into the ground, a trail of dust behind him. "Okay!" The skinny Tengu said, launched forward, his wings spread like a predator eagle diving. He brought his sword down upon Lo-Muna, threatening to cleave her in two. She blocked, but not before he sent a kick to her stomach. "Whats wrong, can't ya' fight?!" The tengu laughed, sending another slash with his blade...
A great shadow fell upon her and Namari swiftly kicked the snagged chain out from under Suiken's heel, rolling over just in time to catch a cloud of dust that billowed out from the tengu's collapsing body. She let out a few hoarse coughs through her sleeve, making an uncharacteristically slow rise to her feet.
Certainly, she had no reason to fight when she was dragged here against her will... She scowled to nobody and dusted her off for the third time.
"What's wrong, can't ya fight?!" Samyan turned her head to see one of the tengu giving the bunny girl some trouble, apparently not realizing there was someone else within arm's reach. This oversight was promptly corrected as Samyan's fist shot into the side of his ribs like a steel hammer striking a gong.
"It's rude to taunt women," she chastised, ducking her head back and spinning around as the tengu slashed at her in reprisal, screaming in rage. Samyan's elbow crashed straight into his jaw, knocking him to the ground and away from the beastwoman. "You also interrupted our introduction scene, which is likewise impolite. I'm Samyan, by the way."
"Don't look down at me, you disgusting swine. You should be..." The little noble lady delivered a sudden and surprisingly thunderous kick to his kneecap, instantly dropping him to one leg. Her head weaved back from an attempt to swipe at her and she responded by jamming her sword sheath-first into his maw, smashing through all his teeth and ramming it straight into his windpipe. "... on your knees!" Taking a brief stance, Namari let out a single sharp exhale and smashed her elbow into the hilt of the weapon, driving it down with a burst force that left only the handguard visible below the handle.
Yuwen Fortune sauntered forward, blade drawn, and in one, precise move, he struck. Yuwen's ebony sword impaled beside Namari's blade into the tengu's throat, finally putting the tengu out of his misery. He grabbed Namari's sword hilt and with a final, upward push he ripped the blades out. Yuwen turned to Namari. From the collection of bloody blades in his arms he offered hers.
Across the tunnel Samyan suddenly felt hands grip her neck. The katana wielding tengu spun her round before socking her in the face. "You dumb broad!" The tengu said, his wings flapping as he rose in the air. "You think a couple girls can defeat me?!" He smiled as he looked down at them. "You don't know nothing yet." The tengu dove at terrible speed at the downed Samyan, and with a grunt he managed to send his blade forward and penetrate the cloth of her robes...
Surprisingly, Takai felt a pang of something...brotherly toward this man. He was skilled with a bow, a skill that Takai recognized and did not wish to squander. He knelt down to the Tengu, "You're a good aim. Who taught you?"
"Didn't ya hear her? You're being rude," Lo-Muna snarled as she crouched slightly before using her muscular legs to propel herself forward. She launched herself over Samyan and used the force to push the Tengu back, the two falling over and landing side by side.
Samyan walked casually over to where the pair had fallen, fixing the hem of her kimono where it had started to slip down her shoulder before leaning down to pick up the tengu's katana, paying no mind to where her foot had come to rest at the end of a man's family line. Bloody spittle bubbled up on the tengu's lips as he made a noise like a tea kettle. Samyan weighed the blade in her hands, then threw it aside and offered to help the beast woman to her feet.
